The meeting...

With some down time before class was to start, and the twins were spending some time outside to enjoy the good weather. That aside, they were also passively trying to find some prospective Technicians. In the year or so they had enrolled in Shibusen, the two hadn't had so much luck with finding a partner just yet. It probably didn't help that Andre had a tendency to be fairly critical of all the new people he met.

As they walked about the courtyard, all was generally quiet and peaceful. That is, until the two were able to hear a light grating noise of sort. There was something vaguely familiar about the sound...

"Heads up guys!!"

Turning around, Aryana soon saw a boy grinding the railing they were walking next to with a skateboard. Quickly, she and her brother got out of the way to avoid a painful collision with the guy.

"HEY! Watch where you're going!" shouted Andre, not really appreciating the close call there. He quickly looked over at his sister to make sure she wasn't harmed and was relieved to find that she was fine.

Landing onto the pavement a little ways ahead of them, Derek halted. The boy turned towards the twins and chuckled nervously with somewhat of a sheepish grin.

"Sorry about that. But hey! No one got hurt, so it's all good right?"

Aryana was quite glad they didn't crash, though she wasn't only worried for her and her brother. She wouldn't have wanted to see this stranger get hurt as well. And if anything, if they had collided, the skater would be the one taking the most damage. So, with a soft smile, she nodded... deciding to ignore Andre's grumblings for the time being.

"Yes, it's all good! she said before thoughtfully adding, "Though... I don't think the faculty would like to see you using the schoolgrounds as a skatepark..."

Hearing this, the skater paused and thought about it. What the girl said was quite true really. Though when he felt like skating earlier, that sort of thing didn't come to mind. So he just went and did it.

"Hm.. yeah good point," he replied before picking up his board. It was right about then that he realized that he needed to be going to his class, "Oh crap! Sorry to bail on you guys so soon, but I gotta run!"

With a sigh, Andre watched as the boy dashed off into the school. Then, glancing at his sister, he gave a frown.

"You're not seriously thinking...?" he started, "We don't even know if he's a tech! Or his name for that matter."

"I know but.. I kinda like him. It couldn't hurt to try right?" she replied with a soft laugh.

ERP - New kid on the block (Derek, Z)

Initially, Derek's first day in Death City did not go so well. The roadwork of the place proved to be fairly confusing, as the boy soon found himself to be lost. He tried to ask for directions, but the information he was given only confused things even further. And as he found out later, he ended up wandering towards the borders of the city, rather that towards Shibusen.

Thankfully, another boy literally dropped in and lent him a hand... even if the help wasn't exactly out of kindness. This other boy introduced himself as Z and nothing else. He was an interesting guy, to say the least. A boy that came all the way from Japan, and it turned out that he can turn into a coil of razorwire. Derek found these two aspects to be fairly impressive, and both made him more eager to enroll in the school in a way. The former did it by reminding him that he'll likely be able to travel the world; something he's wanted to do since he had never left America before. And the latter because Z described that the ability to turn into a weapon was rather amazing and that perhaps Derek would be able to get more of an idea whenever he found his partner.

Not to mention that he was happy to hear that a skatepark was somewhere within the vicinity of the city.

Overall, the stroll towards Shibusen was rather pleasant. And it didn't take too long before they were close enough where it was virtually impossible for Derek to lose his way. After finding out the general direction of where his apartment was (which apparently wasn't far off from Z's own place), the two boys parted and went on their separate ways.

ERP - I scream for icecream! (Derek, Caine, Rainer)

A couple days had past since Derek Long first enrolled at Shibusen. He was adjusting to his new surroundings slowly but surely. In a way, he was reminded of how tough it can be to move to a new place filled with strangers and no familiar faces. During those days, he had focused more on adjusting, rather than mingling so he hadn't had many chances to make new friends.

One day, he decided to head on over to DeathBUCKS, more so as an excuse to get out and test his memory on where things were. As well as an excuse to go and ride his skateboard. For the most part, it went on without a hitch.

However, along the way he nearly collided with a pair of boys headed in the same direction. This caused him to fall, receiving a bruise or two as well as a good scrape on his right elbow. But he was fine for the most part; no broken bones or anything like that thankfully.

After collecting himself from the fall, with the help of the boys, he soon found out they went to the same school. In fact, they were twin WEAPONS! Japanese fighting fans to be exact. The two boys, Caine and Rainer, had quite the contrasting personality. Caine seemed to be more of the quiet type while Rainer was more amiable and talkative. From what Derek learned, they were newly partnered with things starting off for the trio a little on the rough side. Namely, it seemed that their TECHNICIAN was having some trouble coping with the aftermath of their most recent mission, which brought some curiosity to Derek's mind but it wasn't questioned further.

Finding out they were headed to the same place, the three boys went on to DeathBUCKS to continue to talk and get to know one another. For Derek, it was rather nice to be able to meet with them, as he didn't quite feel so on his own in the school now.

IRP - Threesomes (Andre, Aryana, Derek, Michael)

Derek did it. Well, he found a partner that is, or two in this case. It was a little strange how it happened, but the three eventually decided to pair up. So before long, the trio found themselves in Jerald's office for all the official work to be done. The 'big boss' was quick and to the point as he more or less reminded them that because the weapons are twins that their requirements are greater than the usual pairs. They were then dismissed, to be taken on a tour with Michael, one of the few Death Scythes in the school.

For the most part, Derek and Andre were not entirely enthused about the tour. Andre already was familiar with most of the school, and Derek just wanted to go outside more or less. But they went along anyway, just to get it over with.

They were shown the classrooms at the start; well most of them at least. Classrooms 5 and 7 were left out intentionally on Michael's part. While Derek was curious as to what was going on with that, he was reassured that he would find out later.

From there, the tour went on to the mission bulletin, which was actually a point of interest to an extent. Aryana asked just how the students were transported around the world, and to some of their disappointment, the answer was simply, 'magic'. She supposed that they'll find out for themselves sooner or later, especially since Derek seemed to be pretty excited for that aspect.

After Andre inquired about the music room, they were pointed in the general direction and Michael stopped the tour outside the offices in Shibusen. Each of the trio were presented with a map of the school, just in case anyone were to get lost. Once that was done, Michael waved and left them with a wish of good luck.

PRP - Prepare for Trouble! Make it double! (Andre, Aryana, Derek, Caine, Rainer, Kang Ling)

Having some time out of class, Derek dragged the twins about the campus in search of the other set of twins that he knew. Mainly, he just wanted them to meet one another. And over all, it didn't take him too long to spot Caine and Rainer in one of the school's hallways. They weren't alone either, as they had their own Technician with them.

After some introductions between the two groups, it was decided that they should try sparring. Kang ling didn't seem too enthusiastic about it, but she went along anyway. So the six students headed over to the park to have their practice match. Once the weapons had shifted, Derek went in for the first attack.

Over all, the fight didn't last too long, as Derek managed to disarm Kang completely. And to his surprise she ended up crying instead of picking up and resuming the battle. For a short while, they were a bit stumped on how to cheer up the girl, but Caine suggested that Derek could make it up to her by buying her some ice cream.

At the offer, Kang Ling was a little uncertain, but she began to feel better once Derek affirmed that he meant what he said. So the trip to the ice cream parlor was set. They reached Nomomom without much of a hitch, thankfully. The six went on in, and after a bit of deciding on which flavors they wanted, they got a number of interesting yet tasty flavors. Well, Caine decided to sit out of it as he was not much of a fan of sweet foods.

The group discussed how they enjoyed this particular parlor over others they had been to, and before much longer, all the ice cream had been finished up. But despite the little hitch they had earlier on that day, it had been relatively nice over all.

Note On Door
Derek.

Hear you settled in alright, found a WEAPON (or two). Grats.

Wanna go boarding tomorrow at the skate park? I'll meet you there. Just follow the road heading East out of SHIBUSEN till you hear the noises of board on concrete. Even you should be able to find it.

Practice Makes Perfect

"Your stance is sloppy. Fix it. No not like that idiot. There. Good.

"Loosen your grip on me a bit! If you're too tense, your movements won't be fluid!

"The blades move together, don't treat us like separate entities. Hey you listening to me?"

These words, as well as other instructions, could be heard in the park one afternoon when class wasn't in session. Derek had taken up on the chance to practice how to use the twin hook swords, and things were going a bit slowly to say the least. When he wasn't skating, studying, or just hanging out in general, he had been doing this with the twins. There really wasn't any room in the apartment to be doing this, so their usual choice of training was the park.

"Dammit Derek, don't swing like that! Slice!"

"Andre, don't get angry at him..."

While Derek had some training with martial arts, the only sort of weapons he had any sort of training with in the past was the katana. He was finding the style of using the twin hooks to be very very different from the Japanese long sword for sure. For one thing, he had to deal with two-one-handed weapons, rather than a single two-handed blade. For the most part, he didn't mind Andre's sharp remarks. They were helpful, and he didn't really pay any irritation any heed... if he noticed it in the first place. Besides, he didn't think he was doing that great of a job handling the weapons.

Aryana had a few helpful words now and then as well, but over all it was Andre barking out the orders.

The Technician drilled through some of the basics over and over. It really was the only way he could try to learn and perfect the movements. To keep on doing it until it practically became second nature for him. For now, he didn't feel as if he was improving, but he was determined to do his best. It wouldn't be too long before they would have to take on their first mission, and quite frankly, Derek didn't want to dive in without knowing some of the basics in the very least.

"What the hell was that?

"Sorry Andre... I'm getting tired.." he answered before gingerly rolling his arms to try and stretch out the burning sensation he had within them.

"It's alright. We'll go ahead and stop for the day," reassured Aryana. She and her brother then promptly shifted to their human forms and stretched out as well. The sun was going to set fairly soon, so the three would be headed home to rest and clean up for awhile before getting some dinner, "Oh, and go ahead and head home Derek. We'll catch up with you, and... you did good today ok?"

Smiling faintly, the Technician nodded, then headed on towards their apartment. Once he was out of earshot, the female weapon turned to speak with her brother privately.

"You shouldn't be so harsh on him... He's never used twin hook swords until last week. You can't expect him to pick up a new weapon and master it within days," she said, looking fairly concerned.

"Yeah I know, but if we're too soft on him, he might not work as hard," Andre pointed out, looking pretty stern about it as well.

"That may be... but.. can you still try to tone it down a little at least? At least for now. You have to remember that he's a complete beginner at this."

With a bit of consideration, Andre reluctantly agreed. He still didn't like the idea so much, but it would at least make Aryana happier.

PRP - Me, you, and Concrete (Derek, Z)

After finding a note on the door inviting him to go visit the skatepark, Derek ventured out the next day to hang out with the razorwire weapon, Z. It wasn't too hard for him to find the place, thankfully, and soon after his arrival the two warmed up by taking turns performing various tricks. The other boy proved to be pretty good on the skateboard, despite the fact that he hadn't done it in quite awhile.

At some point, after the two attempted to perform a Japan Air, one of the other skaters took the opportunity to show off his variation of the trick. Z took this as a challenge and did an insane but sick trick which quieted the loudmouth for a short time.

However, Derek soon had the idea to have a small skate competition. He, Z, the loudmouth skater, and one other all competed while two others acted as the judges. The skaters were going to be judged on their speed, as well as their performance over all as they went through a set course.

Z volunteered to go first, and he didn't do too badly. A little shaky here and there, but over all it was a good run. Derek went next, who ended up rushing a little too much. He started well, but he ended up bailing off the board at the very end, bumping his score down considerably. Next up was the show off, who did rather well. But everyone was completely blown away by the last competitor who had a perfect run more or less. And he was much more humble about it than the loudmouth.

After a few congradulatory words, Z and Derek went on to get a drink at the Bar Xen where they tried out the local brew known as the Shinibrew. Here, Derek learned a thing or two about Z... such as his apparent nickname of the 'ticking bomb' or something to that effect. After talking about the school and its unique mark in the world, the two went on their ways.

MRP -Bloody Stains on the Walls (Derek, Andre, Aryana, Michael)

The very first mission of this trio; set to take place in Beijing at the national stadium. The place where the Olympics were held; where the six rings came. Though as of late, a completely different 'ring' had come to torment the people in the area. A murder simply known as Red Rings.

Though a little uneasy and uncertain with his abilities thus far, Derek was eager to get going with the task at hand. So they showed up early and found that Michael, the man who was to accompany them on this mission, was already there and waiting. The mission briefing was well... brief, and before long the three heard some strange noises nearby.

Aryana noticed a shadowed figure in the stands, who seemed to be dragging a body along the ground. At first thought, it seemed that the victim was already dead, but the occasional twitch in the body proved otherwise. This person, whoever it was, was bleeding badly and was dying a fairly slow death.

The sight was enough to get Derek fired up to go right after Red Rings. The moment his weapons were in his hands, he charged right for the target. Andre urged him to slow down and conserve some of his energy but the technician didn't listen.

Over all, the battle was brief, as Derek had landed a major blow to the monster early on. The pain was enough to prevent Red Rings from attacking back a single time. It was a good thing too, as the Technician was wearing down fast. Before long, he made the final blow to the target, who then exploded in a mist of blood and guts.

No one in the trio was very pleased with being covered with the stuff either, as they all soon were trying to distract themselves from feeling too queasy. But, their first soul was pocketed, quite literally. Unfortunately the victim did not survive, but they at least prevented more to share that same fate.

PRP - The ultimate cheescake challenge (DAA, Jared, Zoe)

The nights immediately following their mission were rather long for the group as nightmares plagued them all to varying extents. Needing some time to relax and to try and regather themselves, they went and had a day off more or less. Derek went out to skateboard for awhile, whereas the twins made their way to Cafe Mattel to get some hot chocolate and cheesecake.

Soon after the twins seated themselves, a girl by the name of 'Koh' suggested they try some of the chocolate cheesecake. The girl had a rather large portion... or at least it looked like it used to be a large portion of this very cheesecake to herself. And it soon turned out that what was left on her plate was the last in the cafe for the time being.

Andre was a little annoyed with this, but that soon washed away as Koh gave them the remaining cheesecake. It was rather delicious as he and his sister soon found out.

Like them, Koh was a student at Shibusen. She was at the cafe with her weapon, Red, who at first seemed to be quite embarrassed with his partner's actions. However, these feelings seemed to go away as they made small talk. They spoke of various things; what weapons they were and about the missions they've taken.

The mention of the mission that seemed to take after the board game, Clue brought up something completely different. Koh invited the twins, as well as their technician to come over to their new apartment some time for games and dinner. They made a few plans regarding this meetup, and the twins soon agreed to bring over their Wii and possibly some fried rice; one of the only things they can cook. After exchanging numbers, the two groups went on their separate way.

MRP - Clue Mansion (DAA, Arashi)

It was rather ironic that in the previous day or two, the twins had been talking about the Clue mission and possibly playing the board game in the near future with Koh and Red. Especially since the trio ended up taking that very mission. This time they were accompanied by Arashi. Initially, the three were a little on the wary side, keeping in mind what had happened in their last mission. But before long, Andre and Aryana shifted into their weapon forms and the group made their way into the mansion where their target was said to be.

It did not take too long before Derek found Professor Plum, who had just claimed his most recent victim. The body had an uncanny resemblance to Madame Rose as the twins noted. And the target himself looked very much like the character from the board game. Derek felt that the guy almost looked harmless if he hadn't been standing over a body with a bloodied knife.

Not wasting much time, he went in for the attack but missed pretty badly. The Professor retaliated and managed to graze against Derek's side with the knife. Not a serious injury, but it was his first in any of their missions. While things didn't seem like they would be going too well at the start, or at least it seemed that things would drag on a little longer, the next move proved to be the final blow.

With a swift strike, Derek managed to behead the professor. And to the relief of everyone, he did not explode. It still wasn't the prettiest sight in the world, but it was an improvement for sure. Their Death Scythe accompaniment, Arashi, applauded them for their quick work. With everything all said and done, Aryana collected the soul and pocketed it for the team.

Quick! What were you doing the moment you found this interview?!
Well... I was about to grab my skateboard from my locker when this piece of paper fell out.

What can I call you sugar?
Derek is fine. Though, what's with the sugar and honey and dear stuff?

Boxers or briefs?
Boxers?

If you could give yourself a title, what would it be?
Hm... not really sure actually. I guess 'The Skateboarding Slasher' ... That sounds kinda lame actually. I guess 'Skater' is fine.

Uh huh. And your partner?
They'd probably be more like... 'The Twin Eyed Twins!' I don't know actually.

Now (seriously), how did you meet your partner?
I almost ran into them while grinding a rail at school.

Now (for fun, come on!) tell me one little itty bitty secret about your partner: Um... hm.. Andre talks in his sleep sometimes.

What was your first mission experience like?
It was interesting... well.. kinda disturbing actually. The guy, Red Rings? That was one sick dude. The victim was still alive! And well... he exploded into a bunch of blood and guts when he died... That... well... yeah...

What do you think shinigami-sama looks like under that skull?
... You mean that isn't his face?

Favorite hangout in deathcity?
Definitely the skatepark. Well. Not many others can really hang out with me there... but DeathBUCKS is pretty nice too.

Where (on campus) can you be found the most often?
Probably the courtyards and stuff.
And what are you doing there? (honestly!)
Er... skating?

Why does Alexis scare you?
Haven't met her. Is she like an old hag or something?

What do you think of meeeeeee? <3<3<3
... Who are you again?

You can tell me: what's your deepest darkest secret?
Um... well... I dunno if this is really my deepest or darkest but.. the missions? They're actually... kinda satisfying..

What do you think your soul looks like?
I bet its yellowish. If souls could have a skateboard it'd have one.

Out of everyone you've met, who do you think should be interviewed next?
I'd say either Z or Rainer. they're pretty cool.

Finally! Any quick comments?
What's this interview for again?
