Bloody Stains on the Walls
Rank: One
Antagonist: Red Rings
NPC Accompaniment: Yes
Souls available: User Image
Mission: SUCCESS/FAILURE

Michael looked at the awe inspiring sight of the National Stadium around him. One of the reasons he had taken the mission was to get away from Ashley and the possibility of being forced to attend an exotic dance class, but this one would be fun. He had shown the trio around on their induction, and it had been a very long time since he had been to China. The stadium to deserted enough to make the possibility of extra civilian casualties a rare possibility. Good for him and the paper work, good for the team.

Standing under the eaves of the entrance, he pulled the shades over his size to hide them from the glare of the afternoon sun. It was a hot, sweltering day by the likes of which he had rarely experienced at shibusen: namely due to the fact that they had air conditioning almost everywhere. Still, it made him feel good, sweating. It made him feel healthy. Looking at his watch, he realized he was fifteen minutes early. Well, he'd see how long this group took then. If they were on top, or early like him.

Excited. Nervous. As the first mission, these two abundant emotions swirled around the Technician's heart. He wasn't entirely certain if he was really ready. Ever since he first paired up with Andre and Aryana, he had been doing what he could to practice using them. The start was.. a little rough, as he needed to be careful to not cut himself; he almost did too a number of times. That aside, he needed to become more fluid and natural with his movements.

That wasn't easy to achieve at all with the short amount of time that passed. Still, it was thanks to his excitement and drive to do things right that brought the trio to China a few minutes early.

"Woah... that was cool!" cried Derek the moment they arrived as he quickly looked behind him to see if there was any trace of a portal of sorts. There were none from what he could see.

"Yeah yeah.. but..why did you have to pick a non-english speaking country for our first mission?" uttered Andre while looking around, noticing the grand stadium that had hosted the Olympics a year ago.

"Well.. I thought if we needed to ask anyone for help... you two might be able to-"

"Translate?" twitched Andre, "Look. We're Chinese yes... but that doesn't mean we can speak the language all that well! And what little we know? It's Cantonese... completely useless in Beijing! And most of China for that matter."

"Andre... it's alright. It was a mistake, that's all. Let's just try and focus on the mission ok?" said Aryana, hoping to ease the tension... that most likely would only exist in Andre seeing how Derek was.

"Oh! Hello Michael. Didn't expect to see you here so soon!"

They were early. That was always a good sign with the young ones. Made them look better and always suggested at the enthusiasm they had. It made him feel good too: after all, less waiting time for him.

He heard them before he saw them, and was grinning slightly by the time the trio was in front of him. "Aryana." he acknowledged, nodding his head at the three of them. "Welcome to your first mission." He had three copies of the mission files with him, but he wondered if they would need it. "Have you reviewed the mission?" if not, he could always take the time off, he supposed.

Shuffling through the main file, he scanned the contents. "The target was sighted on the direction to this stadium a couple of minutes ago: he should arrive soon, with the victim in tow. We're not sure if he keeps them alive until the last minute, or if they end up perishing before it's too late." he glanced up. "This is a particularly bloody mission, to warn the three of you." the two boys he believed wouldn't have trouble with that aspect of the mission. But the girl? He worried, a little bit. Hopefully it wouldn't prove to be too gruesome.

After Aryana had spoke up, Andre shot Derek one last quick glare before turning his attention towards Michael. Off the top of his head, he couldn't remember everything the mission entailed, but he knew at least of who they were looking for.

"The target is the one known as 'Red Ring' right?" he started before listening to Michael's quick briefing. From the sounds of things, they'll be stumbling on a body pretty quick in the 'game.' With danger being pretty eminent, he glanced over at the other two with him. The look he gave his technician seemed to be one that said 'you better not let my sister be hurt in this'.

For once, Derek seemed to pick up on the message. Well, maybe. He did nod back at Andre, but didn't say anything. Excitement had started to ebb and he was starting to become a little more nervous.

"Maybe we can save this one last victim.." he said before looking around. Unlike a few other Technicians, he wasn't able to sense Souls.

At the mention that this mission would be fairly bloody, Aryana nodded. She supposed it was a good thing she wasn't afraid of blood. At least, she was pretty sure she wasn't. The girl had watched a few gorey horror movies, but... this was real now.

Michael nodded as he listened to them all, quite proud to be in front of a weapon who was so protective over his sister. This was the way it was supposed to be. Camaraderie, courage, and a little bit of bossiness thrown into the mix. "Mission starts now." he stated. Simply because it was easy to get such words out of the way and let the teams get at it. It wasn't as if the words themselves held any real meaning.

The noise that pierced the silence was odd. It was an odd 'sluh sluhp' sound, rhythmic almost. There was weight to it, something that suggested vileness really. At the other end of the national stadium the answer would be found. A slide form, lean and thin the way mangy wolves were after a harsh winter. Except with all the predatory desperation and none of the cunning. The figure was a dark shadow under the piercing afternoon sun, hunched over as it dragged something behind him. The sound then, would be the noise of the hand slapping the seat below with every other step as it twitched.

The body was not dead then. Did it make it worse, when they were still alive? A little bit maybe. Red Rings continued to drag the body, using the weight of the victim and it's own blood to draw symbols on the ground. Symbols with meaning perhaps, only to the deranged target.

Soon after Michael spoke, the three turned their attention as a new sound broke the silence. There was something sick about the noise, though neither of them could quite figure out what it was just by listening.

"Look... over there," whispered Aryana as she saw a shadowy figure dragging something behind him, "That's just sick..."

The thought that someone would put another person through this sort of thing; it disgusted her. She looked over at her partners, to see if they were ready to take on this person. No, this monster.

The others were ready, so she and her brother promptly shifted into their weapon forms, glowing red and black respectively as they did so. Derek, catching the two swords, gripped onto the handles firmly before looking over towards the figure. Most likely, the victim wasn't going to last much longer so they probably should try to finish this quick. Feeling some similar things to Aryana, he decided that he didn't like Red Rings at all.

"ERRAAAAAAH!!" he cried out as he began to run towards the target. He wanted to get this over with fast. After all the sooner they do this, the better the chance the victim had right?

"Slow down! You're going to tire yourself out!"

For now, Derek didn't pay Andre's advice (or order... however you look at it), any heed. He was set on getting this done now.

The sound was warning enough to the target, who stilled in his activities to look up at the approaching technician. He lips curled into a smile. A wide, challenging one as he eyed the boy who thought he would take on a man. Red Rings was destined for greatness: the voices had told him so, in his head. He was destined to be the next god and this little figure with the little swords was not going to harm a hair on his little body.

Letting go of the body, he turned to face the approaching attack. He laughed then, a maniacal cackle as he jumped off the ledge of the stairs and towards the oncoming technician. Right here, right now, was it? He would show this one just why he was so feared. And why he had been chosen to undertake this very special mission.

BWahahhahahaha.

Michael watched in the side lines with a frown marring his forehead. The body had twitched: he had seen it to. It would not survive for long, especially in this heat. With a side long glance at Blade, he hoped the boy would take care of this fast enough that he would be able to attend to the victim.

Red Rings ran towards Derek with bloodied red rings of steel sharpened to work as weapons.

((Pst.. derek not Blade. XD))

Again, Andre urged Derek to slow down, but the boy sped on. In a way, he wish he had brought his skateboard which would have been able to carry himself over the ground quicker. But this wasn't the time to be thinking about that. Aryana remained silent, unsure who to side with this time around. In a way she agreed that the Technician shouldn't waste his energy, but at the same time she knew they had to hurry.

Now that he was getting closer, they could see the victim up on the steps. One thing for certain, he or she didn't look so great... with their blood splattered all over the steps.

Thoughts raced through Derek's mind, as he recalled the little training he had with the twins thus far. As he was about to meet with Red Rings, he shifted to the right and did a quick spin to try and slash the target with Andre. At the end of the turn, he planted his back foot down and thrusted Aryana out at where Red Ring's torso should be.

((... xDD:: *fail*))

Red Rings let out a triumphant cackle as he shifted at the spin, dodging the first slash. But he had misjudged the technician, not expecting the youth to take advantage of having two weapons. In fact, by dodging, it moved it straight into the path of the other blade. The cackle shifted into an outraged snarl as Aryana bit into flesh, and he screeched as he yanked himself out of the hook's grip, stumbling to the side.

"How DARE YOU?" his voice had risen by the end of the shout with almost a question of doubt. Why weren't the voices defending him? Why wasn't he being protected? Stumbling, his hand fell to his side to clutch at the wound that was starting to seep.

No. No! This was going the wrong way!

Getting his balance back, he lunged low at the technician. This was not happening!

"Good work!" commented Andre, who was actually a little surprised that Derek remembered to use them both... rather than separately as he did during some of the training sessions.

Aryana had to admit, being driving into a body was a little odd. But she had to expect these sort of things, being a sword and all. It may take a bit of getting used to, but she knew it was for the safety of innocents... like the bleeding victim on the stands.

"How dare me? Well... how DARE YOU!"

Not exactly the best comeback, but it was all Derek could come up with at the time. Mentally, Andre shook his head and sighed at this. But he soon urged his Technician to follow up the attack since Red Rings wasn't likely to keep standing around without trying to attack back.

With a terse nod, he pushed off his back foot and slashed down with Andre, then with Aryana. The follow up attack was a little sluggish and sloppy howevever.

HE was talking back! How dare he speak so loud as to drown out the voices in his head! This would not do, this would not do at all! Red Rings managed to side step the first attack, and had the second not been a little sluggish it would have ending up maiming him completely. It was a close blow that had the target shifting quick enough to avoid the meat of the attack, instead revealing a glancing blow that slid through flesh but didn't cause as much damage as the first.

Still.

Red Rings was not used to being the victim. He was not used to having his targets fight back as if they actually stood a chance. The blow to his side hurt, hurt deeply: and instead of wondering if this was what his victim felt, he felt anger. At least his victims felt pain for a good cause! HIS cause!

Quick, Red Rings is too busy thinking about how hurt he is to fight back!

It was a good thing that Red Rings was as preoccupied as he was. The reason his second strike was so slow was because he was beginning to tire out. Maybe he should have heeded Andre's warning. But now he just needed to try and finish things before he grew too weary to do much damage.

"Quick, finish him off!" urged Aryana, noticing that Red Rings wasn't fighting back. She was trying to focus on the fight and not really think about the fact that she was covered in the monster's blood for the moment.

Nodding, Derek step forth with a spinning jump of sorts. As he was about to make the full 360, Andre was held high in the air and somewhat at an angle. Then just as he landed, he slashed down at the target, hoping the extra momentum would help do the job.

The slash embedded itself deep into the target's shoulder, slicing through with ease before slowing down as it got to the real meat of the body. Red Ring's scream of pain was a frenzied howl as he tried to claw at it vainly: trying to do something to pull away from the hook blade.

Soon, perhaps not soon enough the blade cut through the body, and for a moment Red Ring seemed to be frozen in a state of catatonic shock before exploding into a mist of red and gore. When the mist eased, there was a single gleaming red soul floating where Red Rings had been.

"Mission complete." Michael stated from where he was crouched over the body. It was too late: maybe the twitches and the jerks had just been the final throes of death. He'd have others deal with the body later, when the technician and his weapons were away from the situation. "Consume the soul, and we'll be on our way."

Time seemed to have stood still as he stood there with Andre deep inside Red Ring's body. Though breathing fairly heavily from exertion, he had managed to get away without a scratch. As he regained his breath, Derek was just about to pull the sword away, but the target exploded instead. Not expecting that, he recoiled and closed his eyes to avoid getting any blood or gore into them.

Carefully, hazel eyes opened once again when it was done. All that was left of Red Rings was a literal bloody mess, and a red soul.

"Ugh... man I hope they don't all explode like that. That was nasty..." he commented while looking down at himself. He was covered in the red liquid... as well as a bit of flesh here and there. Between that and the scent, he was starting to feel a little nauseas, but he tried his best to not think about it.

The twin hook blades turned back into their human forms, both covered with blood as well.

"Ew... this is going to take hours to clean out of my hair..." said Aryana.

"Well... at least he got what he deserved. If only there was a way to kill the red ring on my old 360..." muttered Andre, throwing the last bit as a distraction attempt. None of them had seen or smelt so much gore and it was a little sickening. Then, walking over to the soul, he picked it up. While Michael said to consume it, he didn't really want to eat it. So... he just shoved the soul into his pocket.

"Andre... did you just put a soul in your pocket?" questioned Aryana, blinking.

"Can.. you take it back out?" It seemed Derek was just as perplexed.

The male weapon reached back into his pocket, but found nothing there. Well that was weird. Either way he guessed they had it somehow. With a shrug, he looked over towards Michael and the three were ready to go home... as well as fight over who gets the bathroom first.
