Clue Mansion
Rank: One
Antagonist: Professor Plum
NPC Accompaniment: Yes
Souls available: User Image
Mission: SUCCESS/FAILURE

Having done exactly one hundred missions as a SHIBUSEN student (because yes, Arashi had walked through these halls as an undergraduate too, how else could he have achieved Death Scythe status?) and now assigned as a “Missions Helper”, the Japanese man could say that he visited many places all over the globe. Having stepped on every continent at least once if not numerous times, he was confident to say that he was a worldly man (no, not really).

Familiar with the state of California, he had easily found the mansion that was in the mission description. He found this one to be particularly interesting. A murderer killing those who bared uncanny resemblances to characters from a board game. That was pretty interesting.

Donning his usual headphones and violin case, he waited for the group of three to arrive.

Arriving on time, Derek looked around the streets of San Fransisco, vaguely remembering the area. He had been to the city once or twice in the past to visit some family there. As far as he could tell, nothing had changed. However, the prospect of some freak murderer who apparently enjoyed the game Clue a little too much being fairly close to his hometown was a little disturbing. But he tried not to think about it much.

"You know... I never thought I'd actually be in the game.. You remember we used to play it a few times, right Dre?"

Andre nodded grimly. Red Rings may have been a disturbing individual, but this was almost just as creepy. It was based on a childrens board game after all, and there was a chance things would turn out just as gorey as their last mission.

"Yeah... I kept forgetting that the lead pipe was a possible weapon," he muttered, "You know, I never liked Professor Plum. Always thought he was the shifty one of the bunch."

"Hm... never played it. So can't really relate with ya there man."

Glancing to the side, the three saw Arashi there waiting for the trio. Waving over at the Death Scythe, they made their way closer.

Catching a flicker of movement and far off voices he turned his gaze towards it, spotting a group of three teenagers. If this wasn’t the trio he was assigned to accompany, then life was starting to get seriously screwed up. Keen ears able to barely catch their last snippet of conversation, Arashi curiously cocked his head to the side and stared at them through lazy eyes. Almost immediately after he spotted them, they found him in return and briefly waved at him before walking over to the Death Scythe. Yeah. This was probably the team he was looking for.

He straightened his back and slipped off his headphones, letting it hang around his neck as it often did. “So I assume yo—“ Stopping in mid sentence, Arashi stared at the twin WEAPONs. Each of them had a brown eye and a blue eye. He blinked. Now what was the term for eyes like that? Oh well, he could always wiki up the answer after the mission.

“Twins with dual-colored eyes,” he finally remarked after a period of silence. Then his trademark, easygoing grin surfaced and smoothly pulled back his bang to reveal to a light blue eye. Dark blue and light blue stared at all three. “Cool. Me too. Anyways.”

Arashi pointed a thumb at the mansion looming behind. “Your target is in that mansion. I’ll be following you, but I won’t interfere unless necessary.”

As Arashi stopped to stare at them, Andre raised an eyebrow warily. But at the same time, he and his sister found themselves staring back. The Death Scythe before them had different colored eyes as well! Normally Andre would make some sort of remark about the staring but they weren't being much better in this case. Besides, the twins had never seen another person aside from themselves with dual-colored eyes!

"Woah! You do have dual colored eyes! Now I kinda feel like I'm the odd one.." commented Derek, who also took notice. He didn't mean any harm with the latter part, but that didn't stop Andre from glaring at him for it.

"Odd one?"

"OH! Our target is in the mansion? Well we better get going then!" cut in Aryana, hoping to distract her brother from going further into it.

There was somewhat of a grimace on her brother's face, but he nodded and started to walk towards the mansion. Derek and Aryana began heading there as well, with the former wondering what was the deal with the guy's expression.

Arashi casually shrugged at Derek. This was their technician, right? There was nothing wrong with not having dual-colored eyes. Rather, having just one-colored eyes was the norm nowadays, correct? If this was a “normal” situation, it should be the twins and him who would feel weird about their eye colors. He never really felt awkward about anything about himself, though. If someone found an aspect of him odd (example, his androgynous appearance, most managed to assume he was male by his clothes though) he could care less about their opinion.

One of the weapons glared at their technician. Uh oh. Was this the implication of a sour relationship? Not good. Not good at all. Negative feelings would eventually prevent them from functioning as a team. They headed towards the mansion and he followed after them, calling out a last few words, “Relationship is everything in a TECHNICIAN/WEAPON group!”

As they entered the house, there were small thumping sounds, presumably footsteps. When they peeked inside the room that the murderer happened to be in, they saw a man akin to Professor Plum, donning a purple suit and black-rimmed glasses. Standing over a woman that suspiciously resembled Madam Rose, he casually flicked blood off his dagger as the metal menacingly gleamed in the candlelight.

Derek didn't pause when Arashi had called out to them about relationship being key. There was definitely truth to that statement, though he wasn't entirely certain why the guy had said it. Shrugging it off, he continued into the mansion.

It wasn't until he found a man wearing a purple suit and glasses that he stopped searching the mansion.

"Woah, he does look like Professor Plum!" commented Aryana as they came upon the scene of the crime. There was no doubting it, this really was like the boardgame.

"Yeah.. but it looks like we're too late to save Madam Rose," muttered Andre before addressing Derek, "Alright, let's do this."

Nodding, the technician raised his blades before stepping forth to try and slash the murderer once with Andre. As he did this, his left hand dipped down before coming up to try and cut into Plum's leg.

As the trio quietly spoke to one another about the murderer’s and his victim’s uncanny likeness to the board game characters, Professor Plum casually pulled out a handkerchief. He dabbed his face a few times, even slipping off his glasses and wiping the speckles of dust off of the glass surface. Despite the fact that he had just killed a woman he acted to naturally and normally, almost as if her rotting body was not there, her red blood staining the carpet.

A glint in the light caught his eye and the suited man immediately dashed out of technician’s way. He menacingly brandished his dagger and stared at the lone boy through glaring eyewear. “I was not expecting to have any company tonight,” mused the murderer, a twinkle in his eyes. “I hope I can entertain you so.” With greetings now out of the way, he thrust his weapon forward and straight for Derek’s chest.

For a moment, the guy seemed almost harmless with the way he was acting. If Derek hadn't seen the guy standing over a dead woman with a bloody knife, he would have thought he was an innocent man. Maybe it was this sort of mindset that he had missed pretty badly but who knew for sure? In any case Professor Plum wasn't to be defeated as easily as Red Rings.

"Entertainment from an old professor like you? I doubt it," said Derek as he dashed to the side. The technician gritted his teeth as he felt the knife graze past his ribs.

"Derek! Are you ok?" asked Aryana quickly.

"Yeah... he didn't get much of me there."

"You need to be more careful; don't let your guard down! You can parry with us remember," urged his other weapon.

Nodding, Derek grimaced before lunging back at the murderer, aiming to catch his neck in Andre's hook and possibly take his head in the process.

Was Professor Plum someone lacking in the physical fitness department? Or maybe his eyesight was poor? Maybe his reflexive skills were lackluster. It would be unwise to rule out a combination of reasons as well. Regardless of the why’s, everything was a blur, happening in a brief, sudden moment.

One way or another, by chance or not, he could feel the weapon graze his neck before dug into his skin. Just a few more seconds and his body fell to the ground with a loud thud, head innocently wobbling a few inches away from the body. Dark red seeped into the carpet as footsteps in the hallway approached the murder scene.

Arashi slipped into the room and let out a low, approving whistle. “You made quick work of that guy, eh? Not exactly the best fighter, was he? He probably did better sneaking up on others,” he commented and shrugged. “Aaaaanyways~ Please collect the soul and then we can go home and live happily ever after. Except for Professor Plum!”

To everyone's relief, Professor Plum did not explode in a fountain of blood and gore upon his death. His death was still fairly gruesome, but it wasn't nearly as bad as the moment of Red Ring's final moments. With a sigh, Derek relaxed, shaking his head to himself. When he heard a whistle, he jumped and quickly turned, but saw it was just Arashi there.

"Yeah... Though he put up a better fight than the one in our last mission..."

The twins shifted back to their true forms, then stretched out. Aryana, being closer to the soul, carefully picked it up before placing it into her pocket. With that done, the soul was absorbed.

"Alright... let's go home," started Andre before pausing, "Do you guys take care of the bodies afterwards or something?"

Arashi snorted. “The body will be taken care of, one way or another. Either way, Professor Plum here will be disposed of somehow. That’s all that matters, don’t you think?” he answered with a nonchalant shrug.

“My primary job here is to make sure you don’t screw up the mission and die, or something along those lines, really,” added the Death Scythe and began to lazily stroll away from the group. His lone visible eye stared at them. “Well, good job, nonetheless. Have fun doing missions solo, I think you’ve got the hang of it. No need for a babysitter now, right?”

Another casual wave and he walked away, disappearing into the darkness as he lightheartedly whistled a tune.
