Jared pulled the cap he had on low over his eyes, as if it would make a difference. The scarlet shade would probably draw more attention than deflect, but it was the best he could do at a time like this. It was mortifying to be stuck in a situation like this. Crouched over the small round table meant for two, he took a sip of his coke and shook his head. Dammit, they've been at this for an hour now!

"Are you done yet?" he asked, his voice hushed.

Zoe looked up from the cheesecake and blinked, an amused expression crossing her face. "You said you weren't hungry and that you hate cheesecake, so are you hungry now? We can eat here, if you want." she patted her belly with affection. "I don't think I'm going to want to eat much after this. An entire cake!" maybe the cheese was affecting her brain, because she found the situation entirely ridiculous.

"I'm not hungry. I just want to get away." what girl ordered an ENTIRE cheese cake and then set about polishing it by herself at the restaurant? Granted the chocolate cheesecake looked really good. But not that good. He'd almost recognized some of the other weapons who had walked by with a sympathetic smirk. No. He would not have sympathy from the others because his technician was crazy.

She wasn't this bad most of the time.

"But why?" her voice was honestly confused. She only had a quarter of a cheesecake left to go now, and this place was so fun! Look, she'd seen so many of these people on campus, and here they were as well! "You like this place."

He just groaned and slumped his head into his hands. "Fine. Fine. Take your time."

It wasn't as if what he said was going to make a difference...

Great. Now there were more people in the cafe, and this pair was sitting next to them. Ground, swallow him up now! Jared rubbed at the headache that always seemed to exist whenever Zoe was around. Cafe Mattel was going to join the list of places she wasn't allowed to come without supervision, from now on. Maybe he could even get her black listed if she came alone. Safe him the potential for another embarrassing afternoon like this one. Why. WHY?

Zoe covered her mouth with her hand, signalling that probably she was letting out a polite little burp. She set her dessert fork back on the table and had an expression that looked like a very dazed version of contentment. With a happy sigh, she rubbed her belly. "Red? Next time we go on a mission, can we choose somewhere that is famous for their cheesecake? Nothing can beat this one, but I'd like to try." her gaze skimmed curiously the newcomers. "You should try the cheesecake. It's fantastic." although maybe she'd bought the last whole chocolate cheese cake. Hmmm. Surely they still had some by the slice.

Jared groaned. "Koh, we don't decide where we go on what food they have!" that was the most ridiculous thing he'd heard in a very long time. With a sigh, he rubbed at his temples again and looked over with a weak smile. Now she was going around talking to strangers? Had she never learnt that you NEVER talk to strangers, especially if you're the one doing something stupid?

"But we gotta choose them somehow." she argued right back, picking up the fork again. She stared at the remaining cake with a frown. Their fridge wasn't working yet, so she couldn't take it home. Yet throwing it away seemed to be a waste... and no one would want to SHARE left overs with her, right? Sighing and deciding that she had to do this for the good of all cake kind, she picked at it again.

"Not like that." he retorted, and looked over with a helpless shrug. "Sorry." he muttered.

Zoe looked up at the comment, and frowned. Had they run out, then? With a considering look at the remaining cake and deciding that since Jared wasn't touching it anyways, she reached for the knife and cut it in half. Might as well share, otherwise she'd have a belly ache later on the day! (The fact that three quarters had already been consumed however, did not factor in to the belly ache.) Placing the slice on Jared's clean plate and stealing his fork, she leaned over and placed it in front of the girl. She appreciated chocolate cheese cake! That was a plus point in her books already.

"Here, have this." she offered, looking at the boy and the girl. They were cute! Twins, maybe? It wasn't normal for two people to have alternating eyes like they did, right? Two strangers. "It's really good. I couldn't possibly finish it by myself." she grinned, oblivious to the fact that there was an almost contradiction in her words. She had finished it after all, almost.

Jared couldn't help himself from letting out a snort as her words, which had her frown at him and point the fork at him accusingly.

"I hadn't!"

Brother! Ooh, she was good. Zoe nodded her head with a smile, really pleased to meet them both. "I'm Koh." she said by ways of introduction, and motioned to Jared. "This is Red, my weapon?" Wait. There was nothing wrong with introduction someone as a technician or a weapon outside campus, right? She couldn't remember much. Not that it was really of any importance.

Jared watched the two of them with curious eyes. Had he seen them around on campus? There weren't many people with dual colored eyes, but he couldn't be sure. These days all the time he spent on campus was obsessing how to keep Zoe AWAY from classroom five, and keep her out of trouble. "Nice to meet you." he added politely. "And thanks." he added, as an afterthought. Some people would have turned down cake from a stranger, but at least this way Zoe wouldn't complain of such a bad stomach ache tonight.

Zoe frowned and poked her own fork playfully in Jared's direction. "You're happy you don't have to deal with more cake, aren't you?" she accused. "Honestly. Why we got paired together when you don't have a sweet tooth I don't know."

Uh. Because Zoe had said so?

Look they were so polite! Deciding that she had made friends all thanks to the goodness of cheesecake, she gave Jared what could only be deemed an 'I told you so' look. Simply because it felt good to finally be on the good and winning side.

Too? Jared looked at the twins with a nod of his head. So he hadn't been imagining things, and he had seen them around! Although he really couldn't place whether they were weapons or technicians... "You too?" he asked, and was about to do the polite thing of asking which they were when Zoe interrupted.

"Super!" she cooed. "Are you weapons, or technicians?" she asked out right, tilting her head. She'd met twin weapons before (Ashley and Alexis being the prime example) but she'd never met twin technicians. Did that even happen, or did the gene skip a child? "We don't come here often. Red doesn't like it when I eat too much cheesecake? We just moved in together, so I'm letting him boss me around a little bit more because he's in charge of the cooking and cleaning." what was she in charge of, you might ask? The ... uh... decorating?

Red flushed. Sure. Share everything! "We were kept in for a couple of days, because we were unpacking? So other than school or the house Koh hasn't been out much." he felt like he was explaining his why pet was acting unruly.

Twin hook swords! Wasn't that just awesome. That would be quite interesting to see in battle. "That's awesome." Jared said, expressing the sentiment with a little bit of awe. He wondered if they were the same size, the same color, or if being twins meant that there were slight differentiations. "Are you both identical in weapon form, or is there something that sets you both apart?" Zoe was starting to influence him too much, for him to ask questions like this. He flushed. "Sorry." he added. He was being rude, asking all of these questions.

Zoe nodded. "Kind of. We've been partnered for... maybe a little over a month now?" she turned to Jared for confirmation and he nodded. "We just signed a contract together though for a lease in an apartment. It's maybe a couple of blocks away from the gym? I thought it would be a good idea, living together. Getting in sync with life styles... and everything." plus, the bonus was Zoe had someone else to do the cooking and cleaning. "Do you both live with your technician? I'd met one who didn't. Across the hall, but still." she shrugged. Life would get terribly lonely if she had to live all by herself!

They had different pieces of silk? That was cool: Zoe had always wondered about twin weapons, and it wasn't as if the answer was on wikipedia. She nodded her head with rapt attention as she wondered just what exactly twin hook swords looked like. She'd always flunked the class when it came to weapons.

"Congratulations." Jared answered. A week was a short time, he wondered how they were dealing with it. He wondered what kind of technician these two weapons had the luck (or misfortune) of working with. At the question, he flushed a little bit. What had Jake said? That there was nothing to be embarrassed about with what he turned into. He repeated the mantra in his head as he spoke.

"I turn into a flame bladed sword." he answered, turning to Zoe for help. Some people didn't understand what he meant when he said this. Some thought he actually... well. Flamed.

"It's kind of wavy?" she used her hands to outline the shape in midair, with a grin. "When I first saw him... I kinda laughed. I couldn't help myself. He's awesome though, but still..." she giggled. She'd accused him of being some perverted toy meant for other things, and he'd almost cut her in half. Bad experience that. But a funny one.

"How are you finding things, as a team?" Jared asked. "Have you gone on your first mission?" He and Zoe were only a couple of months older in terms of team work, but it felt... well. Maybe it was Zoe. Maybe he felt so old because of her.

Jared nodded his head, having caught the words. "Yeah, exactly." he responded. Maybe that was the description he should stick to whenever people asked what he turned into. 'You know, a flame bladed sword? Kind of like a long kris?' It was better than having Zoe do her wiggly finger dance.

"How did it go?" Jared asked, leaning forward. If they were hook swords, they'd probably gone through the same thing he had. "Isn't it the oddest sensation when you're first used in a real life battle?" he asked. Being used to decapitate the man and getting stuck in the spine... well, that was one thing he didn't want to repeat.

"A while back." Zoe answered, with a frown. "It was a success so I want to go on another on, but Red here won't let me until I train up a bit more. He thinks he won because of a fluke." she admitted. Well, even if she didn't believe in that, there was no way she could go on a mission with an unwilling sword. "So we're spending some more time in the gyms, and then maybe he'll let me play."

She picked at the cake, and Jared mulled over the words. They should, while there were missions available try it out a little bit. He grinned though at what Andre had said. So he wasn't the only one who was annoyed by his technician? "I feel that way too, some times." he said, glancing over at Zoe for a minute.
