NAME Ragweed of Oruliha
GENDER Male
AGE 16 (Chronologically) 20 (Physically)
RACE Muscheron
HOMETOWN Oruliha
OCCUPATION Guild Member, previously helped out with making dream catchers with his family.

APPEARANCE
Ragweed, like the rest of his race, is small in stature around the same size as an average 12 year old human child. He has a fairly pale complexion and supports a mop of wavy dark brown hair that partially covers his vibrant green eyes. The medium sized mushroom cap on his head, around one and a half feet wide, is an off white colour with rings patterning it that slightly resemble tea stains. Ragweed also has a piercing in the mushroom cap, a small wooden hoop off which hangs a small lightweight dream catcher given to him by his parents as a good luck charm. (Note: the piercing is located at the front on the right hand side so as it is visible to him but does not hinder his sight)
[Refence of a tea stain ring xD] [Dreamcatcher Reference] [Sexy Ref for Hair >;D]

PERSONALITY
Ragweed can easily be dismissed as the over active nature loving pervert. However Ragweed is a little bit deeper than this.

Due to Ragweed's childhood he is always looking to gain the attention he never got and this can lead to hm making a fool out of himself by attempting to do something funny and the joke falling on it's face.
Ragweed is very close to nature firstly because of the fact he is a muscheron and has always lived surrounded by nature, but secondly because of his link to nature spirits. When he is in an area of high pollution or a place where there used to be, but no longer is, a lot of wildlife his emotions get a bit scrambled because of his link to the nature spirits who have lost their homes.

Ragweed is admittedly a slight pervert and being able to use spirits to effect the physical world hasn't exactly helped this side of him as a gust of wind to lift a skirt has become oh so more accessible.

Because of the fact that Oruhila is so open to travellers Ragweed does not fear other races as much as maybe another Muscheron from Relinswood but accepts them and looks at every individual as a different person deciding not to judge someone just by their race. However there is an exception to this rule. Ragweed like many young muscheron has never properly encountered a Lamia only hearing terrible rumors from other Mushkin about how they eat muscherons alive! This has set the image of a terrible race of monsters into his head from a young age and when Ragweed does encounter a Lamia he is likely to react badly and will most probably run away.

When presented with new experiences and situations Ragweed will try to rise to the occasion and enjoys a good challenge. However he can react rather badly if he is humiliated badly in public...

HISTORY
Oruliha is a busy place, muscherons coming and going along with the occasional visitor from another race striding through the crowds of petite muscherons but there are some quiet and peaceful places, such as the dream makers shop on the edge of the town. It was here, amongst the silently swaying dream catchers that Ragweed of Oruliha was born into the world by his loving mother Amantia. Ragweed’s baby life was a good one. He had two loving parents, Amantia and Mica along with an older brother to help him up when he fell down. He went out little and didn’t have any so called playmates and instead stayed within the quiet shop watching dream catchers in a daze.

However trouble soon emerged. When Ragweed reached the age of six and began to start learning how to make dream catchers like his brother and father he discovered that he couldn’t do it like them. The feathers would always bend and end up looking greasy and ruffled or the string would end up all knotted. Of course his brother, like all siblings do, laughed at his failure and continued to produce perfect dream catchers out shining Ragweed and hogging the attention his skill got him.

As Ragweed continued to grow up under his brother’s shadow he sought other ways to gain attention, first of all by trying to out do his brother in intelligence but it was no use Dandelion was the top of his class and there was no chance in the 7 year old Ragweed understanding the stuff that his 11 year old brother was doing. Then he began to become a rebel, playing tricks to gain any kind of attention at all from his parents.

Upon reaching puberty Ragweed began to stop playing tricks but instead he begins to spy on people, mainly girls. This outraged the parents of his victims and his parents soon heard about it becoming enraged with him. One night Ragweed hears his father ranting to his mother and one thing that he hears is, “Why can’t he be more like his brother!?” Hearing this soon sends the already quite unstable young muscheron into floods of tears, gathering his stuff and leaving quickly and quietly out of the house and into the woods.

The woods around Oruliha are notoriously bad, filled to the treetops with monsters that wouldn’t think twice about snapping up a delicious young mushkin. However for some reason the monsters never came near Ragweed repelled by the flickers of light that protected Ragweed but never allowed him to get a good look at them. After a month and a half of hiding in the woods he was found by a muscheron woodcutter and taken back to his distraught parents.

Ragweed then applied himself to working with his family and actually began to start making better dream catchers, still not as good as his brother’s but at least now he could actually make them. For two years life went on normally for them but yet again fate had a twist in Ragweed’s life.

One day while serving a customer in the shop Ragweed spotted a glimmer amongst the hanging display of dream catchers. At first he dismissed it as merely being light reflecting off a mirror shard woven into a dream catcher but as the glimmer started to move towards him he became less and less interested in the customer he was meant to be serving and more enthralled by the mysterious creature. The thing was one of the things he had glimpsed in the woods but now up close it looked so different. It was roughly similar to a dragonfly, with a long tubular body and six flickering wings that held it in the air as it glided around the shop. Its eyes were sparkling emerald jewels and it made a strange tolling noise like a deep church bell ringing. To his surprise when he mentioned it to the customer and his parents they gave him funny looks and said they couldn’t see anything.

Similar appearances occurred over the next few months and every time Ragweed seemed to be the only person who could see the strange shimmering creatures. His mother began to get worried and contacted a witch doctor asking him to examine Ragweed and see if he was possessed. The witch doctor met up with Ragweed and announced that Ragweed had a rare gift that allowed him to see nature spirits. The witch doctor recommended that Ragweed should get some sort of training, as the gift is very unique and should be nurtured.

Pleased at the fact that he could do something his brother could never do Ragweed leapt at the opportunity to join the league and get trained by professionals. His mother and father reluctantly agreed and as a leaving present gave him a dream catcher piercing in his cap. The next time a band of merchant muscherons left Oruliha Ragweed left with them and went to start his new life with the league.

In a nutshell
> Born into a small family of dream catcher makers. Has an older brother aged 4 named Dandelion. Parents names are Amantia (Mother) and Mica (Father).

> Small brotherly rivalries begin to show.
> Ignored practically by his parents and due to this begins to display a rebel personality, playing tricks to get attention. Around 7 years old.
> Reaching puberty in Muscheron terms, around 10 years old, he starts perving regularly on people.
> After begin caught perving several times he gets scolded by his father and when he's around 14 he overhears his father say, "Why can't he be like his brother."
> Runs away from home for a month and a half and develops a slight link to the spirits of the forest, seeing things out of the corner of his eye ect.
> After going back home he tries to settle in better and works hard at making dream catchers.
> After two years he starts seeing nature spirits properly and mentions something about them causing his mother to get worried.
> Mother contacts a witch doctor and it is confirmed that Ragweed has the ability to see nature spirits.
> Ragweed's family decide to send him off to the league to get him trained.
> Ragweed arrives at League. =D

COMMON KNOWLEDGE
To most of the guild he is just a new member from Oruliha and only his Division captain, Cleph Baradel knows the basics of his powers and reason for joining the league. He will soon become renouned for his 'pervyness'.

DIVISION Supportive Magic
CLASS PROGRESSION Wood walker > Shaman > Druid

This job set is slightly inspired by the anime series Mushishi. The spirits that Ragweed can see and control are similar to the 'mushi' from the series in appearance, strange creatures that glow slightly. The spirits that Ragweed can see are creatures that unlike most beings do not have a physical presence but can by using magic of some sort can effect the physical realm. All of the spirits have a liking for gems and will gladly help an adventurer out if one is offered to them. Like the mushi being attracted to the main character Ginko, the nature spirits tend to flock around Ragweed attracted simply by the fact he can see them. [The things in the background are Mushi]

Wood walker - Ragweed has only just started experimenting with his connection to the spirit world and can barely commune with the spirits. However if he leaves the right offerings (the occasional gem) he can gain a favour off the spirit to help support himself or his allies.
Ragweed's clothing at this level will be based around this outfit here [Reference of Outfit] but with dirt stains on it.
Melee ( 0 ) Ranged ( 1 ) Magic ( 4 )

Shaman - After a lot training of the mind and spirit Ragweed can now confidently manipulate spirits so that they effect the physical realm. He also has a good understanding of the different spirits found in different places and can use them to his advantage.
Ragweed's style differs slightly at this level taking on more of a shamanistic garb with feathers and beads integrated into his hair, and also a few 'Indian' face paint marks on his cheeks. He will still be wearing basically the same clothes.
Melee ( 1 ) Ranged ( 1 ) Magic ( 8 )

Druid - Finally Ragweed has mastered control over pretty much every type of spirit and can summon, at a cost, spirits into the physical realm to attack his foes. He has also honed his previous skills so he can perform them better than ever with improved results.
Now in this form Ragweed is dressed slightly richer, although it will still be muddy, with a embroidered fine leather tunic and three strikes of paint down his cheeks, like cat whiskers. If possible I would love to see one or two spirits floating around him but they're not a necessity.
Melee ( 1 ) Ranged ( 2 ) Magic ( 12 )

SPECIAL SKILLS

01.
Spiritual Favour.

Randomizer Type.
Ragweed asks the nearest nature spirit to help him and his allies.
After successfully attacking roll a second d20, depending on what is rolled a different effect will happen.
1-5 : Ragweed or one of his allies gets a stat boost in Melee (posetive Stat Effect Type)
6-10 : Ragweed or one of his allies gets a stat boost in Ranged (Positive Stat Effect Type)
11 - 15 : Ragweed or one of his allies gets a stat boost in Magic/Other (Posetive Stat Effect Type)
16 - 20 : Normal Heal, d20 + magic/other (Standard Heal)

02.
Spirit Shift.

Attack Multiple Targets Type.
Ragweed focuses on the spirits near him and uses they're power over nature to move the area around him damaging multiple foes.
Roll for a magic attack then take a -2 penalty for every enemy targeted.

03.
Summon Spirit.
Summon Shield Type.
Ragweed can manage to summon a nature spirit into the physical world to defend him. Descriptions of the spirit will vary as no two spirits look the same.
Add an extra +5, +10, +15 Hp bonus to your stats If Ragweed looses a Hp amount equal to the bonus provided the spirit can no longer be help in the physical realm and dissipates. This skill can only be used once per battle.

Nature Spirit Attraction.
Narrative skill.
Ragweed seems to attract nature spirits like a magnet, this can sometimes be very annoying to him because of the interference with his emotions and effects it can have on the environment. (Large amounts of nature spirits gathering can cause natural catastrophes to occur more often) The radius of attraction is around a half mile radius. Ragweed can manage to block the attraction if he concentrates (at level three he can do it subconsciously) but he cannot block the attraction while he is unconscious / asleep.

Magic Attack Style.
Ragweed attacks using blasts of magical green energy that looks and moves a bit like fire. However the substance is not hot and is you were to touch it you would feel a painful stinging sensation, much like being stung by a nettle.

WEAPON Nothing except his hand and feet but even in close combat he will choose magic or hand to hand.
LEVEL One
POINT ASSIGNMENT Melee ( 0 ), Ranged ( 1 ), Magic/Other ( 4 )
HIT POINTS 25 >> 35 >> 40 ( -3 )
EVADE 10 >> 14 >> 18 ( +1 )
OTHER NOTES

Racial attributes

Poison Resistant
Muscherons are naturally resistant to poisons. Attempts to poison a Muscheron will always fail. Muscherons, however, can be burnt, heavily bled, etc and therefore are not immune to other forms of skill 05. Poison. This is a freebie battle skill.

Climbing
Muscherons are highly skilled climbers and are able to climb extremely steep surfaces (trees, walls). As long as a surface has some traction (ie, isn't slippery or made of glass) a Muscheron can scale it. This is a narrative skill.

-3 Hitpoints.
+1 Evade.

Birth month

MONTH 08 (August)
element: Air
zodiac: Apis, the Bee.
description: The familiar buzzing sounds of late summer are said to be produced by the wings of Apis, the great honeybee. The honey he produces radiates magical energy, and eating just a tablespoon is enough to imbue a human with phenomenal magical powers. Interestingly, although he is a honey bee, Apis is depicted as a large bumblebee - that is, kind of fuzzy with clearly defined black and yellow stripes. Also, despite being a worker, he is identified as a male, rather than a female. Apis corresponds to the Earth sign Leo.

Auguste ~ 3nodding After hearing about him from a replacement shopkeeper in the Bagtelle of Murzim Ragweed was interested in meeting the pennier who loved blue so much they covered their shop and house in it. Ragweed met Auguste for the first time as he was introduced to the guild and his first impressions of him were ok, but he found him a little posh/extravagant.

Cleph ~ sweatdrop Ragweed managed to embaress himself infront of his new mentor but he thinks Cleph is ok and wants to spend more time with him to get to know him.

Piraya ~ question Hasn't met her. (Would love to meet, maybe in a drinking contest sometime =D)

Sisel ~ question (Meeting atm)

Elias ~ question Hasn't met him yet. (Would like to bump into him and infect him with his spores >;D)

Franziska ~ question Hasn't met her yet. (Maybe meet up in an Open role play somewhere?)

(NPC) Amantia ~ biggrin Ragweed honors her as his mother and never bad mouths her. She has always been the support throughout his life.

(NPC) Mica ~ smile Ragweed is a bit annoyed at his father as he was treated secondary to his brother by him. However they do share a good relationship and get along most of the time.

(NPC) Dandelion ~ stare Growing up in his shadow has affected Ragweed's relationship with his brother immensely. He does not hate him but at times he can get very annoyed at him because he can act a little big headed. They don't stand on very good terms and if you were to shut them in a room together insults would fly.

> Ragweed hears of the League! ~ Won the first ToA Flat sale and Ragweed was entered into the League! =D

My Winning Entry
Username: X Purple--Platypus X
Character Name: Ragweed of Oruliha
Concept Thread: My Concept.
Prompt 1:

Ragweed hummed cheerily under his breath, he was in a good mood for some reason and not even the people who barged past him pushing him out of the way would dampen it.

Since arriving in Aschere he had been living in a rented room above a tavern in the market square. He had originally planned that after arriving he would join the league and live in rented accommodation offered by them. However unluckily for him the league was not accepting anybody at the time. Now he was stuck in a cramped and dirty room with nothing to do in the daytime but wander around the market gazing at the exotic goods sold by the many stall owners.

The marketplace set up was very simple. Merchants simply had to buy a pass from the market officials before claiming a pitch and setting up their stalls. Pretty much everything could be sold there from caged puddings to ointments for backache. Most of the stalls were brightly coloured to catch the buyer’s eye and a lot of the time the sellers shouted out about their products all at the same time resulting in a cacophony of noise.

Ragweed stopped and peered at the stall he wandered over to. Quite a crowd had gathered and were looking at the many crystals and vials of brightly coloured liquids that lay on the heavily patterned cloth covered table. Ragweed frowned quizzically and picked up a small vibrant blue shard of crystal and turned it over in his palm.

Above the stall hung a gaudy sign reading, “Magic Crystals from the depths of the Ederha’s Caverns! Limited offer only!” Ragweed burst out laughing and threw the ‘Magic Crystal’ back onto the table. ”You’ve got to be kidding me! These aren’t Magical Crystals! They’re bits of coloured glass!” He shouted out loud looking for the stall keeper so he could confront them about their trickery. Quite a few people had heard Ragweed and they too started shouting abuse and accusing the stall keeper of stealing their money.

Ragweed grinned and soaked in all the attention his exclamation had gained him. With a burst of adrenaline fueled confidence he pounded his fist on the table and demanded, ”I want the owner of this stall! Where are they?!” A worried looking human who had been serving up until the point where the ruckus broke out nodded and curtsied before rushing off into a gaudily painted wagon. When she returned a middle-aged Lamia was with her staring angrily at Ragweed he muscular snake lower body writing and flicking the dust off the floor.

”I should’ ah known the trouble would ah been with ah Mushkin!” She exclaimed, spitting the words out with hatred and pointing accusingly at Ragweed with one finger.

Ragweed’s confidence drained out of him as the Lamia woman advanced on him. He had seen a couple of Lamia before at the market and had steered clear of the snake like people. But now he was being confronted head on and all the terrible stories he had heard as a little boy seemed to be true.

”Uh, I’m sorry! Agh!” He apologised before darting off his face-flushed red with embarrassment as the crowds laughed at him as he ran away from the Lamia woman scared senseless.

As he barged through the crowds he looked at his feet hiding his embarrassment and muttering how when the league trained him he would put every single Lamia in their place and get his own back! However looking at your feet and running at the same time is not a good combination and Ragweed found this out when he collided with a tree and fell flat on his backside on the floor.

He looked up at the tree had he ran into and frowned slightly.

It had been painted with flaking blue paint. A deck chair sat underneath it in the dappled shade and there was an angry warning telling peddlers not to pitch in the shade. Ragweed found the whole thing very bizarre and this feeling was enhanced when from above him in the rooms suspended in the tree, came a loud bang and puffs of blue smoke drifted out of the windows.

Ragweed rubbed his cap were he had bumped into the tree and scrambled to his feet wandering over to the spiralling metal staircase and ascending to the Bagatelle of Murzim that was above.

Ragweed coughed as he opened the door to the shop and a wave of azure smoke rolled over him and he was temporarily blinded. ”Oh dear, I terribly sorry… I was just playing , I mean testing out some of these, uh, smokey things! Come over here and don’t rub your ears it’ll only make the pain worse, I think…” The doubt in the man’s voice didn’t help Ragweed at all as he stumbled through the shop and found himself guided into a cushioned seat..

Through his blurry vision Ragweed could just about make out a sickly looking Edjerha male darting around the shop opening all the windows and doors so he could get some fresh air into the room and dispel any of the smoke that was still lingering.

Several minuets later the pain in his eyes was practically gone and he could see the room more clearly.

The theme of blue carried on inside the shop and many of the various gadgets and trinkets sold were a shade of blue. In one corner of the shop was a box full to the brim with small pins with the emblem of the Asterion League on them, but the weird thing was that printed on the side of the box were the words invisible armour… Ragweed tentatively blinked a couple of times fully taking in the amount of strange things in the room before getting to his feet.

The man who had helped Ragweed was behind the counter carefully putting a small oval shaped object that resembled an oversized egg back into a glass display case labelled ‘Smoke eggs, handle with care!’.

”Are you alright now?!” asked the worried Edjerha noticing that Ragweed had stood up and was approaching the counter. Ragweed smiled and rose a hand dismissing the concern with a friendly smile and a small ”Don’t worry about it.” The Edjerha’s face looked more relaxed after hearing that Ragweed was all right and he leant forwards over the counter his elbows resting on the teal coloured wood his chin in his hands.

”I’m not actually the owner of the shop you see…The real owner, Auguste, is a guild leader in the Asterion League and because they’re recruiting he’s really busy at the moment. So I offered to help him out, I’m also in the league, under Auguste’s guidance in the ranged division!” Ragweed hadn’t really been listening to what the Edjerha had been saying instead he had been playing with a small clockwork metal contraption. But when he half heard something about the Asterion League recruiting his head snapped up and he gave his full attention.

”Oh wow! I really want to join the League! D’you know were I have to go to register?!” he asked running a hand through his hair and hoping that he wasn’t causing the man too much trouble.

The man grinned and said that it was no trouble as he fished about underneath the desk counter before pulling out a crumpled and, for some bizarre reason, slightly singed advertisement. Ragweed glanced over it taking in the main details before flashing the Edjerha a smile and a quick thanks before darting out of the shop to sign up to the League of Asterion!
