PHYSICAL

Name- AJ Hayson

Age- 21 years old

Ethnicity- Caucasian

Desired Species- Dolphin species, non-morphic (or close to it), due to his love for ocean life, cetaceans in particular.

Appearance- Measuring in at 6 feet tall and 180 pounds, he looks tall but not large. Fairly slight build, hardly the athletic type, but with lightly-tanned skin from spending time outside. His hair is a dark brown. Short, but often mildly unkempt. He has soft blue eyes underneath. Once sporting glasses, he's switched to contacts for college. Often seen wearing khaki shorts and a T-shirt, and opting for sandals. A bronze medallion engraved with a dolphin is alway present around his neck.

Items- AJ has long been known as a light packer. Usually on his person are a notepad and pencil for sketching or writing ideas on the go. His medallion is on him at all times. Refusing to buy into the cellphone culture, he wears a sports watch (water proof, of course) to keep track of the time. Setting aside most of his technology from home, only an MP3 player remains in his "high-tech" possessions. His primary method of transportation around the town is a bike.

MENTAL/EMOTIONAL
Personality

1. Strengths- Somewhat reverent, and appreciative of the world around him. Has a strong sense of empathy and tends to be a quiet listener, with a calculating mind he is often able to offer assitance once he grasps a situation. As an artist and an author, he has a creative eye. Often remains emotionally calm and optimistic.

2. Flaws- Somewhat shy, and hesitant to approach new people. Although talented, he still lacks a high level of confidence, causing him to rarely finish his more grand ideas. When his level-headedness fails, he can be crippled by frustration. Deep inside are doubts and fears that arise at times, though he tries to repress these.

Interest/Hobbies- AJ's outdoor activites include biking, kayaking, and archery. At one time dabbling in photography, he now prides himself on being an artist and an amateur author. Designs have always interested him, often leading him to collect various trinkets.

Likes/Dislikes- AJ has a fondness for nature and a particular bond for the sea, so much so that it permeates much of his work. Curiosity has given him a zeal to learn whatever he can about anything catching his interest. He has, however developed limited patience for some people, particularly those he sees as being close-minded. His greatest foe is uncertainty, which has caused him to miss opportunities in the past, and encourages him to stay well informed. He refuses to eat seafood, blaming it on his respect for the sea, but in reality because he doesn't like the taste.

History- AJ grew up in rural New York with his family, not moving anywhere but making several trips from the area, often camping outdoors. Used to travelling and trained to have an independant mind, AJ seems to have a natural curiosity about the world around him. This lead to a somewhat active imagination, which as he grew up he attempted to realize through art. For whatever reason, he always found himself drawn to and fascinated by the ocean, particularly by dolphins and whales, surprising even himself from a relatively land-locked point fo view. However, he was also an intellectual, who's ambitions didn't always match up with his capabilities. Grades had given AJ a promising college career, and he chose to hang it on Marine Biology, so that he would be able to spend his life working with the creatures of the sea that he so admired. However, things didn't go so well and he ended up flunking out. Since then, he's set his sights on a much more low-profile lifestyle, focusing more on his creative talents on things that interest him. This has given him some reward, and he has been able to pursue his interests on a less than formal scale.

Family- Mother, father, and a brother. AJ moved out when he was 18 to go to college and has had limited contact with them since. Although no ill-will remains between them, he associates them with a failed past.

Arrival- AJ moved to Cape Fear about 2 months ago to live on a small coastal property near a wooded cove. Leaving behind a lot of the comforts of his previous home, he's settling in a small house with the nearby ocean as his companion, hoping the new setting will allow him to focus more on his creative ventures.

Current Appearance

First Shift
AJ has lost his ears after his first shift, being replaced by small pinched holes at the sides of his head. He wears a headband to avoid attention.

Second Shift

AJ's skin has become entirely smooth and lost all of his boy hair. A beak has begun to grow, coming out a little farther than his nose does. Also, a short, thick tail has begun, as has his dorsal fin, but these changes aren't apparent when he has his clothes on.
