The troublesome siblings. We were born of lies... Yet even though we are thought to be clan born... The only ones we can truly trust... Once outside of camp Stormpaw lingered in the exit as he sniffed the air for Petalpaw's scent that was fresh in the air. Following it he found the she-cat in no time at all. He was careful in how he approached her, not wanting to scare her off. He was larger then most of the apprentices but he never had to worry about looking intemedating when he was with his sister. Hunching himself so he appeared smaller as he approached her. "Hey there petalpaw! You know you shouldn't be out here alone." he know that sounded stupid coming from him of all cats. But he wasn't sure what else he could say to a she-cat who preferred to be alone. But only a handful know the truth. We aren't blind to the looks we get from the other cats. Is each other.

~Petalpaw~ She whipped around to face him, and stared at the other apprentice. Her green eyes grew afraid. She looked wildly around for any other cats. He couldn't be here for no reason! Her eyes grew wide, wondering what the apprentice's business was with her. She carefully approached him, every few seconds looking behind her. She didn't trust him. This had to be a cruel prank. Her eyes narrowed and she answered, "why do you care! Just leave me alone, just like every other cat. It doesn't matter that I'm not as perfect as my brother. It still hurts..." Her fur fluffed up. She wished that she could go back with her mother. None of this would have happened to her. Her eyes began to water, was this never going to end! Why her!?!

The troublesome siblings. We were born of lies... Yet even though we are thought to be clan born... The only ones we can truly trust... He could smell her fear thick in the air. He couldn't blame her though. He had seen how cruel the other apprentices had been to her...It didn't help that warriors hadn't put a stop to it either. But when she spoke he almost wanted to laugh at her. His thoughts drifted to his sister who even though was training to be a warrior had no grip on reality sometimes. He cracked a friendly smile at her as she drew closer to him "Last time I checked i'm not like every other cat. In fact most of the time I think them stupid." he relaxed his stance and rolled onto the ground in hopes of showing her that he was no threat "Besides who cares if your not perfect like some old cat that probably wasn't perfect when he was young to." he rolled on his back, his paws in the air as he looked up at her still grinning. "Besides in a way were in the same boat. Sure the other apprentices don't dare pull tricks on me or my sister even though they don't like us. But wanna know why?" he quickly rolled on his stomach and made a big deal about looking around them like he was about to speak some big secret. Then he looked to petalpaw and motioned her closer with a wave of his paw before speaking in a hushed tone. "Last one that did Wildpaw forced him to eat bugs till he puked. Told him if he wanted to act any less then a cat then he'd eat what he was." he was saying this to be funny. But the sad reality was it had really happened back when they were just starting out as apprentices. But only a handful know the truth. We aren't blind to the looks we get from the other cats. ~Petalpaw~ Although she didn't trust him, she knew she was in no danger. She sat down and watched him carefully, "I don't know why you're doing this, Stormpaw. You have nothing to gain by trying to be friends with me." her bright green eyes gazing at him suspiciously. She kept her comment to herself on how her brother was 'perfect' since he was little. He was their father's favorite kit, he was being watched by the leader before him, always had admirers, ironically they tended to be her worst tormentors. She couldn't look to anycat for help. She learned that from her brother. Eventually, she figured out he would never answer her calls like she had always hoped. Although she didn't feel she was n danger, she watched him, if made one step towards her, she would take one step back.

The troublesome siblings. We were born of lies... Yet even though we are thought to be clan born... The only ones we can truly trust... He cocked his head, confusion written all over his face. "Gain? Now why would I need to gain anything over your friendship." he was utterly baffled by the question. Though the more he thought about it he guessed in some demented way he could understand why she would question him. He gave a shake of his head and a small laugh "Well unless you count another cat I can enjoy spending time with I don't have much to gain from your friendship." he fixed her with a curious stare, studying her intently "You know you really need to loosen up, not every cat is going to be out to get you. As we speak right now all i'm looking for is some good company and you certainly look like you could use it." a grin broke out on his face once more as he rolled on his back once more. But only a handful know the truth. We aren't blind to the looks we get from the other cats. Is each other.

~Petalpaw~ She gazed at the tom. She was as confused at his answer, as much as he was by her question. Her head tilted to the side, "what do you mean? Good company?" she looked as blank-faced and confused as a kit. Blinking repetitively, she couldn't figure it out. She got up and stretched. Her green eyes as confused as the rest of her face. She still watched him carefully. She had learned her lesson well before. Some cats hide their true intentions. She wasn't sure if he was or not.

He let out a short laugh that was followed by a yawn before he answered her. "No offense to the other cats but some of them are much more annoying to deal with then their worth." his eyes fluttered closed as the suns warm rays warmed his pelt to the point he was beginning to feel drowsy. "Their jokes can be cruel, they are way too competitive, scared of what's different. But..." he opened his eyes a bit to peer up at her "But your different and I like that about you. Your not always trying to go out of your way to hurt someone and think it's all part of some big game. It's one of the thing's I like about you." his words were senciere and held no lies. He was simply extending a paw of friendship and hoping she would take it. He wasn't entirely sure why. He had never cared for any cat besides his sister. She was the only one he had cared for since he was a kit. Yet here he was with another she-cat trying his best to make her a little more cheerful, even if it was just a little bit.But only a handful know the truth. ~Petalpaw~ That was the last barrier broken down. She looked so happy. If this was a prank, she wouldn't have cared. She looked at him and mewed, "thank you. By the way, what do 'friends' do?" her eyes shined happily, but she was trying to be calm. She had always wondered this, and wanted to know that more than anything else. She had asked her brother, but he couldn't simply answer her, so she gave up on trying with him. She was still curious, all the same.

That was exactly what he had been hoping for! Just that smile alone made him feel like all this was worth it. He returned it with his own warm smile. "They do a lot of things such as..." he rolled over on his belly as he thought about what friends did together. It was more easier done then said. He tilted his head, a playful gleam shining in his smoky blue gaze. "Well how about I show you." he rose to his paws and crept up to her. He gave her a light tap on her shoulder then spoke with a laugh "Tag your it!" a purr rumbled in his throat as he ran off. He kept close to the camp entrance for fear that Wildpaw would pull her disappearing act. If she did that he might have to go and search for her...She could get lost so easily sometimes. But only a handful know the truth. We aren't blind to the looks we get from the other cats. ~Petalheart~ She was bewildered for a few heartbeats. Tag? She quickly figured out how to play it and tracked down the other apprentice. She pounced on him then, slipped away. She had learned to cover her scent. She hid up in a branch in a tree. She watched the other apprentice from above, she thought she was close enough that if she jumped, she wouldn't be harmed. Her green eyes and grey fur helped her blend into the shadows/leaves. ((I don't know why, but I have a feeling this isn't going to end well... sweatdrop ))

The troublesome siblings. We were born of lies... Yet even though we are thought to be clan born... The only ones we can truly trust... She looked up at him, tears seeming to form in her ocean blue eyes, as she looked up at him in a pleading manner. She willed him to understand her feelings with all her heart. Even if he couldn't understand them she willed that he will at least let her leave. While she waited for him to make his descion she grew even more restless. It felt as if he was deciding her fate for the rest of her life. When he told her that she could go she didn't even care that he told her he was coming with her. A happy mew left her mouth as happiness came from every pour of her body. She jumped up in the air as best she could and half ran half stumbled toward the entrance not bothering to see if he was following even once.
That's good! She seemed to catch on quite quickly. He had allowed her to catch him easily, though he made it seem as if he were trying. Now it was his turn to find her. He tried his best to follow her scent but surprisingly it was harder said then done. He was just below the tree now, sniffing around. It seemed as if the scent trail had just vanished. Baffled by this he looked around trying to figure out where it is she might be hiding.
Unknown to her brother Wildpaw was watching him from a distance. Surprise was written all over her face as she tried to figure out why Stormpaw was playing with the mean she-cat. She had spotted Petalpaw from where she was standing but made no move to go toward her. She wanted to understand what was going on.But only a handful know the truth. -Shadestar- He followed after the apprentice, taking his time. He sat down when he saw Stormpaw. He nudged Wildpaw towards him. His eyes kind, but worry filled. He soon saw his sister and hoped she wouldn't jump out of that tree. The limb was too high off the ground, and she would only get hurt...
~Petalpaw~ She saw her brother, and Stormpaw's sister. She knew their game was over. She snuck down from the tree and padded towards their siblings. Her green eyes kind, but happy. She sat down next to her brother. Her grey fur touching his white and brown tabby fur. It was hard to tell they were even related. She really did care about her brother, even with all that's happened, even if he didn't help her. She didn't care. You may never have friends, but you always have family. She still wished she had known her mother better...

The troublesome siblings. We were born of lies... Yet even though we are thought to be clan born... The only ones we can truly trust... The tom hadn't even noticed the approach of Shadestar and his sister. No for once he was having fun with a cat that wasn't Wildpaw. But then next thing he knew he heard something climbing down the trunk of the tree behind him. His head swerved toward her. His body relaxed when he saw it was just her. "I think your missing the idea of the ga..." He had a joking tone but his sentence was cut short when he noticed they weren't alone. His smile didn't fade as he saw Wildpaw, no in fact it grew. Following behind Petalpaw, he waved a greeting with his tail toward his sister. She rose to greet him and nuzzled his head with her own, a purr rumbling loudly in her throat. "I don't like when you leave." she whispered for only him to hear. His answer was a affectionate lick between her ears. He led her to sit by him, sitting himself next to Petalpaw. He could feel His sisters gaze upon his new friend. He cleared his throat "I'm sure you two already know each other but Petalpaw, this is my sister Wildpaw. Wildpaw, be nice, this is Petalpaw my new friend" He watched his sisters reaction, his body tense with worry and doubt. WIldpaw looked to Petalpaw very intently, in fact there was tension in the air. She had so many memories of the she-cat being mean to her. She looked to her brother through a side glance. She could see the hope that she accepted her. She couldn't disappoint him. She like she had broken prey bones in her stomach as she rose to her eyes and sauntered over to the other she-cat. She kept a serious, almost angry face till she was standing in front of her. She paused for a few seconds, knowing her brother was watching her. She sniffed Petalpaw, getting a whiff of her scent to always remember in case she got lost. Once it felt like it was ingrained in her mind along with the sight og her pelt. She leaned forward and licked form her nose to her forehead before pulling back, a big smile on her face. The tension in the air left as she spoke everyone's worries away "Petalpaw friend! No worries now i'll sink my claws into any cat dumb enough to make fun of you." Stormpaw cleared his throat in warning. It was then she remembered the leader was there. Her fur bushed with embarassment as she quickly corrected herself "Oh...I mean I will put prickles in their nest." she looked to Shadestar, her brother hot with embarassment but having to stop himself from laughing. "It's ok to put prickles in the nest right...I won't get in that much trouble will I." she was being so innocent right now. One would almost wonder if she knew what she was saying sometimes. But only a handful know the truth. We aren't blind to the looks we get from the other cats. Is each other.

-Shadestar- The leader looked away, and answered, "I don't know what you're talking about, I didn't hear anything." His tone playful. He looked over at the apprentices. He almost envied their open kindness. He gave his sister a lick on the top of her head, and mewed, "well, I better be going back to camp. Someone has to be watching over them. Or else, it's going to be a pain getting everything calmed down again." and soon disappeared into the undergrowth.
~Petalpaw~ She watched her brother go, and it seemed to take her new attitude with him. She didn't want her brother to go, but she didn't want to be rude. The clan comes first, she sadly thought to herself. The clan has to be his first priority. She recomposed herself and mewed kindly to Wildpaw, "I really appreciate that." Her green eyes peaceful. A lot has happened today, and she didn't know how she felt about all of it. But for right now, it was her window into inner peace and being able to trust herself and the cats around her. Basically, she slumped over from exhaustion, and took a nap.
