The troublesome siblings.
We were born of lies...
Yet even though we are thought to be clan born...
The only ones we can truly trust...
The sun had been up hours ago, yet unknown to the rest of the clan two apprentices had been missing for hours before the sun had even came up. They had been sure to sneak out with the cover of dark, the one named Wildpaw leading them through the opening in the dirt place that every cat seemed to forget about. Now they were down at the lake where they always seemed to end up when they disappeared.
Down by the lake a young tom, Stormpaw, sat off to the side beneath a shady tree playing the role of look out while his sister went off into her own little world. His sister, Wildpaw, who he was watching intently sat at the edge of the water that lapped at her front paws. She was currently sitting and staring across the water. She had been just sitting there like that since the sun had begun to rise. Something had been bugging her for a while. The way the clan saw them...The fact that her mother paid more attention to the other three and sometimes didn't seem to even remember her and her brother. Then there were those dreams she had been having lately. Then there was that she-cat. Her form was bleary in the dreams she would have. But something about her was so comforting to Wildpaw.
The way his sister sat there, so completely lost to his voice... It was seriously starting to worry her brother.
The large tom rose to his paws and padded over to the she-cat. He lightly rubbed his head against her cheek with the hopes that he could get her to come back to him "Come on Wildpaw, it's time we head back." he whispered into her ears. He tried to keep his voice soothing but he feared that his worry had laced in with those words. But he could feel his sister move beneath her pelt. She was coming back to him.
Wildpaw could hear the hint of worry in her brothers voice as she came back into her mind. She blinked twice as she looked up at her brother. Her ocean blue eyes were glazed over at the moment. One could tell she still wasn't fully there. It just keeps getting worse everyday. the thought worried Stormpaw as he gently nudged her to her paws. Her legs were trembling from her having kept still for so long. She offered him a reassuring smile "You don't have to worry big brother I can walk." even as the words left her mouth her back left leg gave out on her and she stumbled. Pain coursed through her body but she did her best not to show it. But he wasn't fooled. Stormpaw was in her side in a matter of seconds, using his body for her to lean on and stand upright. "You need to be careful, you know that your injury isn't still fully healed." she wanted to argue, he could see it in her eyes. But instead she swallowed and let out a defeated sigh "I know your right but you'd figure it would be healed by now. So many moons have passed by and yet still it bothers me." she flexed her back leg several times to test it out. It seemed like it was ok now. With her brothers help they began walking back to the camp. But only a handful know the truth.
We aren't blind to the looks we get from the other cats.
Is each other.
