Oakshadow enjoyed the company of the other warriors, and it took his mind off the cat he had seen and smelled earlier. The patrol weren't really focusing on hunting, but rather trying to find out if there was a she-cat he was interested in, more the she-cats than the toms. He still had a fun time and they did catch some prey. One of the she-cats was particularly curious, it was one of the newer warriors. She seemed to be almost always near him which was strange, but he blow it off. It wasn't unusual for him that that would happen, and she wasn't a bad cat, not very bad looking either. He silently laughed at himself, he couldn't really be having any kind of thoughts like this right now! He eventually told the rest of the group that they should head back now, and of course they accepted. Some of them had apprentices and had to up earlier in the morning. One of the other cats lead the group back, and they quickly got back to the camp.

>Duskstar< Proud Leader of Cliffclan Both my parents were fools... I refuse to make the same mistakes they did... By the time i'm done I will have led an army of warriors through this land... The she-cat had followed mostly in silence till the group of cats reached the battle training ground. The apprentices had been rather quiet, something that wasn't that uncommon around her. She had very low tolerance for the untrained cats. When they finally arrived at the training grounds Duskstar strolled around the soft sand, being sure to stay on the soft grass, then found a nice place to sit where the suns rays warmed her pelt. The more she watched her clan mates practice their fighting moves the more her claws itched to be used. She found herself flexing them a couple of times, especially when she saw an opening among the cats. Of course she'd never turn against her own clan in a fight but it was a cat's claws in battle that taught one to learn fast or continue to get hurt. To her delight even the warriors she had dragged along seem to be getting into the fight. They were older then Grayclaw, who was performing the battle training flawlessly, and seemed to have something to prove. Especially with their apprentices around. THe apprentices were enjoying their time to, especially Sparrowpaw. The young she-cat seemed jittery with excitement. They were completely oblivious to the tension in the air. The she-cat had just started to become relaxed when she caught a flash of red from one of the few trees that provided shade to cliffclan territory. She cast it a sideway glance, keeping her gaze narrowed. She knew who it was. Her father was becoming mighty brave to be coming this close to the camp. she acted like she was yawning, but in reality she was tasting the air. Lucky for him his scent was completely covered. Ignoring him she concentrated on the two cats in front of her. When Grayclaw spoke to her she gave him an approving nod. "Well done, but how about we let the apprentices use their claws for a bit. Teach them how to cling to an enemy's fur while your using your back claws. I want baack claws sheathed though." Don't need their mothers giving me an earful of nonsense I don't want to hear. she silently added as she rose to her paws and looked to Icewing. She motioned her forward with a twitch of her tail "I also want you to help Grayclaw with teaching the apprentices how to get out of such a hold. Remember if you must sink your teeth into a cats paw and break their bones to get out then it must be done." her eyes seemed to flash at the last little bit, her tone serious as she raised her voice and pierced each apprentice with a hard look. All but Shadowpaw tore their gaze away from her. She knew they were a little scared of her but they must learn that pain comes with being a warrior and know how to cause such pain. My father too impatient for power, mother too blinded by the weakness of love. No I have learned for them. And every cat will know that Cliffclan is the strongest!!!

Grayclaw Warrior of Cliffclan "Don't even bother, I'm already leagues ahead of you" A sleek yet muscular tom with gray fur Cold blue eyes, as bright as the sky Grayclaw's chest swelled up with pride, and he couldn't help but shoot a smug glance towards the three other warriors. He had been complimented by their leader. "Alright apprentices, this next move can be used to overpower a larger cat. Icewing, show them how." He had chosen the she-cat due to the fact that she was the smallest out of the four cats, and he knew from the stories she often bragged about that she had experience dealing with bigger enemies. The she-cat seemed a bit too eager to demonstrate the move and allowed her front claws to extend before pouncing onto the gray furred warrior's back. He held his tongue, hissing in pain as her claws sunk into his fur, getting a good grip on him. "While you cling onto the enemy, you can really get some good blows in. Scour your claws over their back; take some fur off, make 'em bleed. Remember, get a good grip so they won't be able to shake you off." He paused, taking the time to buck and twist in an effort to try and remove Icewing, though his attempts turned out to be in vain. He stopped when he was panting, and with the she-cat still clinging to his back. "Even if they roll over and try to squash you," he suddenly rolled over onto his back, squashing her underneath him, but when he got back onto all fours she still held to him. "Of course, when this happens to you, you always have the option of--" he didn't finish his sentence, instead charging towards the nearest barrier, a thorny bush, and put her in the middle of him and the push. Icewing responded by yowling in pain and promptly letting go. "You can ram them into any object if you think it'll dislodge them, trees work especially well. But be careful that they don't jump off you at the last second. Now, I want you all to try it on your mentors and then each other. See how long you can stay on." Grayclaw gave a nod for the apprentices to begin, padding over to Duskstar to watch their process. A purr rumbled in his chest as he watched Icewing untangle herself from the bush before going to join her apprentice. "Much better than gossiping, wouldn't you say?" Chin tilted high, pity flashes through the eyes You'll never be as great as him

>Duskstar< Proud Leader of Cliffclan Both my parents were fools... I refuse to make the same mistakes they did... By the time i'm done I will have led an army of warriors through this land... Watching the two older warriors demonstrate to the younger cats made her own claws ache to be used. In an effort to ease them she unsheathed them and dug them into the earth then pulled them back in. She did this several times before she stood up, adjusted herself, then sat back down. When he ran for the thorny barriar she held back a mrrow of laughter at the sight of Icewing's eyes. She had plenty of time to get off of Grayclaw and get to safety but it seemed such thoughts never entered her mind. By the end of it she was tangled up and attempting to free herself. It brought joy to the leader that though her cats were loyal to one another they weren't afraid to rough each other up in battle training. Grayclaw came to her side and as she spoke he could hear a light purr rumble in her throat and lace in with her words. "Indeed, maybe I should do this more often." THe apprentices and mentors were already starting to work together when she spoke again "Maybe I can make this into a punishment for the older warriors, might make them a little more tolerable." she mused. It wasn't exactly comforting to think she'd have to use battle training as a punishment for her older warriors, in her mind they should be more then willing to join. Her thoughts were cut short as she watched Sparrowpaw time her leap too soon and miss her mentors back. "Sparrowpaw if your going to jump too early put more force into your leap." she suggested to the young she-cat who was sprawled on the ground. As she rose to her paws she said a quiet thanks before trying again. This time she over shot it and fell off her mentors back. Duskstar's jaw tightened and disappointment shone in her green eyes. The leader didn't like failure but she had to remind herself many times that apprentices fail a lot of times in order to learn. My father too impatient for power, mother too blinded by the weakness of love. No I have learned for them. And every cat will know that Cliffclan is the strongest!!!

>Duskstar< Proud Leader of Cliffclan Both my parents were fools... I refuse to make the same mistakes they did... By the time i'm done I will have led an army of warriors through this land... The young apprentice fumbled again, this time falling on her shoulder at a painful angle. In a matter of moments her mentor, Foxshadow was at her side. He kept asking if she was ok while Sparrowpaw insisting she was fine. But everytime she tried putting weight on her front paw her face would twist into pain. From the side lines Duskstar shook her head in disappointment as she rose to her paws. The other two mentors looked to her with caution as they awaited to see what she was going to do. The she-cat wrinkled her nose as she spoke, not hiding her disappointment. "Foxshadow I had thought you were ready for your first apprentice, by but the progress i'm seeing today I am starting to regret it." Rage sparkled in the toms yellow gaze. He clearly wanted to argue with his leader, defend himself, but wisely he kept his mouth shut. Her glittering green gaze traveled to Sparrowpaw who was huddled on the ground with her head hanging with shame. "If it hurts too bad go to the medicine cat and get looked at. But regardless of what you decide make sure that your ready for the dusk patrol cause you will be on it tonight." she squeaked out her reply of understanding when her mentor spoke up "What if it's a broken bone!" he argued. Duskstar fixed him with an angry glare "We won't know this until she gets checked. Until then you two are dismissed, the rest of you get back to training." she let out an irritable hiss before taking her leave. She made it seem like she was heading for the camp, but at the last moment she turned and headed back to the Tinkerclan territory. My father too impatient for power, mother too blinded by the weakness of love. No I have learned for them. And every cat will know that Cliffclan is the strongest!!!

The two cat's padded out of the camp and into the territory the cats of Cliffclan called home. He had suggested a border patrol before they had left. She was actually rather looking forward to it. The tension back at camp still weighed heavily upon her mind. But she tried not to let it distract her too much during this moment. "So where should we patrol?" she meowed as she looked around with some curiosity. She had been paying so much attention to the weakness of the other clans. But as she looked around she noticed some minor problems that she'd have to pay attention to later. My father too impatient for power, mother too blinded by the weakness of love. No I have learned for them. And every cat will know that Cliffclan is the strongest!!!

< Oakshadow > He slicked his tail and mewed, "How about the Waterfallclan border. You know, the one we didn't check earlier." His amber eyes shined with playfulness. His tail suddenly fluffed up in surprise when a rabbit leaped in front of him. He brought it down with the flick of his paw, and quickly killed it. He buried it so he could pick it back up later. Then he stood tall and waited for his leader to make the first move. He flexed his claws again. If they ran into trouble, he would be ready to defend his leader.

She acknowledged his suggestion with a flick of her tail letting him know she agreed. She had just lifted her right paw when a rustling over to their side caused her head to snap toward it. Her body was already tensing, claws unsheathing as she readied herself from a fight. But instead of an enemy cat showing itself it was a rabbit. The she-cat was froze in place with a dumbfounded expression. In a matter of seconds Oakshadow was the first to react, catching the rabbit and giving it a swift killing bite. It took a few seconds but the she-cat managed to gather some of her dignity and meow "That was a great catch, I didn't even see that rabbit there." her felt her pelt get hot with embarrassment. She should have at least scented that rabbit...Why hadn't she? The she-cat silently wondered to herself. My father too impatient for power, mother too blinded by the weakness of love.
