< Oakshadow >
He had given up on waiting and leaped towards the border, quickly gaining speed. He didn't stop until he got there. Then he turned around and waited, his amber eyes scanning for any trace of her approaching. He began to groom his fur, but he kept a eye out for her. He didn't want her sneaking up on him. He didn't want to look like a unknowing apprentice.

>Duskstar< Proud Leader of Cliffclan Both my parents were fools... I refuse to make the same mistakes they did... By the time i'm done I will have led an army of warriors through this land... While Oakshadow bolted ahead Duskstar took a more....sneakier approach. She slunk off sideways, keeping a few paces behind him. She always knew where he was, by the sound of his breathing and paw steps upon the rocky ground. As they got closer to the waterfallclan border it was easier for her to keep her dark pelt hidden through the shadows of the plants. When he stopped so did she. She controlled her breathing as well as every paw step that she took. Ever so slowly, making sure the slightest breeze in the air was going in her direction rather then away from her, she circled him out of sight. She waited till she was a several tail lengths away. Before making another move she calculated the distance between her and him. Taking a deep breath she bunched up her muscles before taking a big leap as she yowled "Waterfall clan attack!!!" it was a childish thing to do as she landed just a few whisker lengths in front of him with a smug smirk upon her lips. Her tail tip twitched as her throat rumbled with laughter. Sure she was acting like an apprentice herself. But even when one was a leader of a clan what other cats seem to forget is that they are cats just like everyone else. My father too impatient for power, mother too blinded by the weakness of love. No I have learned for them. And every cat will know that Cliffclan is the strongest!!! ((Sorry for the delay, have a whole bunch of homework this week. I should be able to post faster next week.))

< Oakshadow > His brown tabby fur fluffed up, and his ears flattened to his skull. His amber eyes blinked quickly, he was trying to reprocess this. 'Oh, well,' he thought non-chalantly. He sighed and mewed happily, looking away embarrassedly, "you got me. I would've sworn I had been ambushed. The only flaw in your scheme was that I knew your voice. That aside, good job Dawnstar." he snuck a quick glance, just to see how his leader reacted. He would ask her that question later. Right now, he compiling evidence for himself.

>Duskstar< Proud Leader of Cliffclan Both my parents were fools... I refuse to make the same mistakes they did... By the time i'm done I will have led an army of warriors through this land... She still had a big grin on her feline lips as she trotted around him. "Well if you had mistaken my voice for some fish lovers I would have been glad to put you on elder duty for a moon." she playfully half teased. She stopped at the border where the scent line could be smelled from almost a mile away. Her head cocked ever so slightly to the side as she looked toward some bushes. They were moving, something was clearly there. Duskstar remained still as she waited to see what it was. She motioned for Oakshadow to stay still. The scent that came from it intrigued her and made her mouth water. Though it seemed like ages, but was only a few passing seconds, a brown head poked it's head out from the bush. It was a young rabbit, probably out on it's first adventure from the den. Duskstar slowly lowered herself to a crouch as she waited for the rabbit to come out into the open, which it was doing so very cautiously at the moment. My father too impatient for power, mother too blinded by the weakness of love. No I have learned for them. And every cat will know that Cliffclan is the strongest!!!

<Oakshadow> His amber eyes grew bright with curiosity, 'what was she investigating?' He happily wondered, 'is it a abandoned kit? A fox hole?' When he realized what it was, he was a little disappointed. He decided to let her hunt and come back for her. He padded silently away, trying his best not to scare her prey away. He was glad he didn't. He soon caught up with the Waterfallclan patrol. They were curious why he was alone, but didn't ask any question. The only way he knew was from the curiosity burning like hot coals in their eyes. They didn't go at a very fast pace, and Oakshadow didn't mind. He wasn't disobeying the warrior code. They were on their side, and he was on his. He was very careful about that. He didn't want to get his head chewed off for them crossing the border...

>Duskstar< Proud Leader of Cliffclan Both my parents were fools... I refuse to make the same mistakes they did... By the time i'm done I will have led an army of warriors through this land... By the time Duskstar realized that there was a border patrol she had already crossed the border and killed the rabbit. Blood stained her mouth and paws. She picked up and trotted back to her side of the border with a stride that told everyone she didn't care of what she had done. "Hey Oakshadow you hun...." her words were cut short as she suddenly noticed they weren't alone. On the inside she was mentally cursing that she had made an apprentice mistake. But on the outside she looked calm and smug. She purposfully set the rabbit at her paws, the wind blowing in the direction of the patrol that was standing in front of them. She could see the fur rising along their back, the anger igniting in their eyes. But she didn't react to them in the least bit "I see we have company." she commented as she looked back to Oakshadow and shot him a 'you should have warned me.' but planning to keep up her innocent facade she glanced down at the rabbit "We should probably both eat before we continue with the border patrol." she knew she was in the wrong right now, but at most these cats would do was shoot insults from over the border and then go and report the news back to their leader. My father too impatient for power, mother too blinded by the weakness of love. No I have learned for them. And every cat will know that Cliffclan is the strongest!!!

<Oakshadow> He closed his eyes and said his good-byes and quickly apologuized. Then, he turned to his leader when they had left earshot. He strode towards her and mewed, "this one wasn't my fault. I didn't know when you would show up. I'm not mad though. You can be mad at me, if you want. We still just caused an issue, one that we wont forget easily." His amber eyes grew tired and he sat down. He sighed. He patiently waited for her to yell at him. He wouldn't respect her any less.

>Duskstar< Proud Leader of Cliffclan Both my parents were fools... I refuse to make the same mistakes they did... By the time i'm done I will have led an army of warriors through this land... She sank her fangs into the rabbit and roughly yanked a piece of it's flesh off. She glared at him, half the meat still hanging out of her mouth, as he came to join her. As much as she hated it she knew he was right. "I'm very angry at you, mouse brain. Now i'm going to have to deal with this at the next gathering." she practically growled at him. Or worse, they'll send a patrol to come and speak with us. she thought silently to herself. Fire seemed to shine in the she-cat's eyes as the mere thought caused her skin to crawl. Her claws unsheathed and a growl still rumbled deep in her throat. She swung out a paw and took her anger out on the rabbit, leaving deep scratch marks in the piece of prey. "If it weren't for the fact that i'd have to deal with an angry clan those marks would be on you instead of that rabbit. I have a clan of warriors that must always work together otherwise we will fail" she threatened him, leveling him a look that said that it was the bloodthirsty side of her speaking. She rose to her paws and padded over to the border which she purposefully walked over and began marking her scent all over their side. If she had started a problem she was going to make sure that she gave them something to come to her and complain about, not some lousy prey. My father too impatient for power, mother too blinded by the weakness of love. No I have learned for them. And every cat will know that Cliffclan is the strongest!!!

<Oakshadow> He closed his eyes and listened, respectively trying not to let her words get to him. He knew she would never actually try to hurt him, even as mad as she was. He got up and mewed, "I'll help you. This was also my fault." and he started marking on their side as well. As much as he cared for his friends, his clan meant more to him, as it should. The leader's word was law, and his leader needed to make sure he was trust-worthy. She could banish him if she wanted, but it would make no sense. She could anyways, if she was really that mad. He also knew that she would lose a lot of respect that way, from the other clans and their own. He wished that it wasn't the case, but it was. He hoped she knew that as well...

>Duskstar< Proud Leader of Cliffclan Both my parents were fools... I refuse to make the same mistakes they did... By the time i'm done I will have led an army of warriors through this land... Before finishing the she-cat walked over to a fallen tree and tentively sniffed at the bark that told her it was beginning to rot. She lifted a front paw and gently pushed on it and felt that it was soft beneath her paws. Determined to send a message to the leader of Waterfallclan the she-cat unsheathed the long sharp claws that had earned her warrior name and sank them into the bark. With ease she slid them downward and made a deep gash on the tree. She pulled back, claws sheathing the moment they touched the ground, and inspected her work. There was no way any of the older cat's of Waterfallclan would miss that mark. She seemed pleased with herself as she padded back over the border "I'm done playing games, were going to attack Tinkerclan first then we will attack those fish lovers. After we are done with those clans we will go after Lotusclan." she bodly told Oakshadow with the excitement of a kit. "Soon Cliffclan will have enough terriory to keep them from going hungry in the cold times and we'll be able to expand our clan so it's only Cliffclan that remains." Now I just have to make sure none of the cats of the clans squeal to the other clans. she silently added as a note to herself. My father too impatient for power, mother too blinded by the weakness of love. No I have learned for them. And every cat will know that Cliffclan is the strongest!!!

<Oakshadow> He nodded. If she wanted to go to battle, then he would fight for his clan, with all of his heart. He looked over at his leader and mewed carefully, "what do we do with the cats from other clans that we don't kill in battle? Keep them as prisoners? Let them join us? Kill them?" His amber eyes were calm. He wasn't fazed by the idea of cats dying. It happened all the time. He was actually more concerned for the cats that survived. He wondered if she had asked herself that question, or even if it had come to her mind to that far...

>Duskstar< Proud Leader of Cliffclan Both my parents were fools... I refuse to make the same mistakes they did... By the time i'm done I will have led an army of warriors through this land... She tensed at his question, shooting him a suspecious look. Why is he questioning me? she silently wondered, a ton of doubts entering her mind. But as she looked at Oakshadow she pushed those doubts clear of her mind. It's Oakshadow, the one cat you can trust in your clan. she reminded herself and her features softened a little. "The only ones we will spare are the younger apprentices and kits. Can't go upsetting our queens." she chuckled to herself like she had just spoken of a joke. "The leaders and their deputies will not be allowed to live and only a select few of the warriors older apprentices that prove they can be trusted and helpful to their clans will be allowed to live the rest will be killed. The elders...." she had to pause as she considered the older warriors that had served their clans. As much as she wished she could spare their lives she knew better. Then with a heavy, regretful sigh "As much as I hate to say it they can be taken prisoner so long as they don't give us problems but should they try to fight back they will die with the rest of their clan." she told him. My father too impatient for power, mother too blinded by the weakness of love. No I have learned for them. And every cat will know that Cliffclan is the strongest!!!

<Oakshadow> The amber eyes tom nodded. What she said made sense. "My only suggestion is, that you don't tell the clan that we're going to attack the other clans. Tell them a day or two before, so the traitors will be easily seen sneaking out. Have them prepare themselves, by telling them there will be a battle, but not telling them against who, or even, when. Then, no cat could spread the news to the other clans, and warn them. This is only a suggestion, of course. You can do whatever you like." He wasn't being sarcastic at all. Whether she followed his advice or not, that wasn't up to him. She was a thoughtful cat, sometimes. She could make her own decisions. His amber eyes were kind, and full of respect. No matter what she did, he would listen and follow her command. Even if he wasn't that happy about it.
