A Buddhist Monk is the last thing Landuo wants to be, but that's what she's stuck doing. She was left at an adoption center and adopted into the monastery. Ever since she was young, she's gone through the motions (and of course knows them in and out), but every chance she gets she runs off away from the monastery. She always returns at the end of the day though, simply because she's never known any place else. Her punishment is usually to sit and meditate, and though she never does the meditating part, she's learned to be incredibly still and quiet because of it. The High Monk is determined to turn her into an excellent monk because Landuo has so much spiritual potential. However, Landuo won't go easily.
After a while, Landuo realized that the only way she could escape the monastery was to become a monk and be sent into the world. Once she started cooperating, she shot through the ranks, just as the Head Monk predicted. She told herself that she didn't believe this stuff, she was just doing it to get through. Anything to get through. Somewhere along the way, it settled into her mind. She accepted it while still believing that it didn't apply to her, and yet she still accepted it. She embraced her spirituality, and she had attained monkhood. Thus she was sent out of the monastery, and continued on her journey, giving blessings where people asked and dispelling evil spirits.

When Laike si was young, he found an unconscious rabbit on one of the dirty roads on the outer edge of the city. He took it home with the plan of making a meal from it, but it woke up and fought very hard to get out of the bag. Laike si thought it would be useful to have such a fighting rabbit at his side, but if he tried to force it to be loyal, it would eventually run away. So he had the idea to give it to a friend to tortue it, and he "rescued" it, ensuring its loyalty. While the friend had it, he did several experiments to try and raise its magical abilities, but they only succeeded in giving the rabbit a good fireball and staining its fur with smoke-like pattern.
