Attention all members.
If you have not made your profile thread, please do so. I cannot start anything until at least ten character profiles have been finished and posted. So please get this done.
Thank you.

We are not beginning the roleplaying yet, so please refrain from posting as such for now. There will be another announcement once we are ready to begin.
All the Head of House positions have been filled, but there are still plenty of teachers needed, along with students, of course. Also, all prefect positions and the Head Girl position are still open.
Thank you for participating in Devious Times. ~Tao

I realize that Gaia is not letting members edit their posts for whatever reason right now. If a post needs edited, PM me the edit/addition along with the link to the post and I will edit it as soon as I can.
There are still plenty of teachers needed, along with prefect positions, though the Head Girl has been taken. To see exactly what is available, visit the Teacher Application thread and the Prefect Application thread. Remember, you can have up to three characters, one being an adult.
All the spots on the Quidditch Teams are still open. If you wish to apply, visit here.
Also, you MUST apply to have an ability, and that ability only counts for one character. The Animagus and Metamorphmagus positions are already filled, but there are plenty of others to choose from. Some canon characters also have abilities, and you may apply for those as well. To apply for an ability, visit here. To apply for a canon surname, visit here.
I know the guild is big and daunting, but there is a thread titled Subforums Explained that will help you find your way around.
Next, make sure that you use the given profile skeletons. Again, they are big and daunting, but they are for the benefit of your role playing experience. And remember, you must get your profile approved before you can begin role playing. The role playing itself will begin when we have at least three students in each of the Houses. Also, I would appreciate it if you create a thread for your characters.
Finally, be sure to read the rules. Memorize them and always keep them in mind. I want to make this guild as fun as I can for all people, and will not tolerate rules being broken. This is not to say someone has, because no one has as of yet. I'd like to keep it that way. There is a list of rules in the main forum and in the Profile Skeletons thread in the Registration subforum.
Thank you for participating in Devious Times. ~Tao

There is a very slight change to the Student profile skeleton, and the Student profile only. The "Looks" description now requires two paragraphs, rather than three, though more is still encouraged. I consider a paragraph, in this case, at least four sentences, so it should not be too hard. Describe their hair, eyes, build, height, weight, and clothes. From that, you already have six of the eight sentences.
Thank you for participating in Devious Times. ~Tao

We how have the objective number of profiles approved in each house plus some. The guild is ready to start roleplaying.
You may post ONLY in Diagon Alley and St. Mungo's (though I do not know why you would need to be there.
Remember, you can only post if your profile has been approved.
I have opened up the castle as well, but ONLY for the purpose of professors setting up their classes. If anyone else posts in the castle, those forums will be closed again until the students arrive there.
Professors, here are the locations of the classrooms:
Potions - Dungeons Transfiguration - Ground Floor Defense Against the Dark Arts - Third Floor Charms - Second Floor Divination - Towers Muggle Studies - Fifth Floor Care of Magical Creatures - No specific place, but is often in the Forbidden Forest Astronomy - Towers Arithmancy - Seventh Floor History of Magic - First Floor Herbology - The Greenhouses Ancient Runes - Sixth Floor

Due to lack of activity, especially from moderators, I am pushing the opening date to this Sunday IF the activity picks up. Otherwise, it will not be opened for another two weeks, as I will be away again, this time with no computer access, for a week.
Teachers may post in the castle, but no students may.
This lack of activity does not need to happen. If you are going to be away, tell me or post in the absence thread.
Also, next Wednesday, I will be banning anyone who has never posted.
The second problem is about rules not being followed. Actually one rule specifically. This is a literate roleplaying guild, so naturally I expect long posts from people. I decided to be kind and have the word count as little as one hundred words. HOWEVER, people are taking advantage of this, underestimating me. If I think it is less than one hundred word, I WILL do a word count.
It is a simple rule to follow, and takes all of a few seconds to do. We moderators will no longer tolerate posts less than one hundred words. From here on out, any member will receive ONE warning on this matter before being banned. Moderators caught posting less than one hundred words will be demoted immediately, without warning.
Also, if it continues to happen, the minimum word count will be raised to three hundred words.
