-Off The island RP-
(Rping my character before getting on the island)
Brian arches an eyebrow at Xellos, holding up a book. "I'm reading. Well, I'm researching, technically."
Researching what? *moved around him slightly trying to see what he was reading*
Brian holds up the paperback, revealing a picture of an Ethiopian Wolf. "Various behaviour habits of these pretty little guys. I'm going on a trip to snag a couple, tag them and check up on the population status. If I'm lucky I'll get some spare time to just sit and observe them." He grins widely- one man's mundane activity is another man's ideal way of spending several hours.
Looked over the picures in the book. "So why are you researching them? Why are they so special?" tried to streach his arms alittle but the shackles kept him from doing so.
Brian smiled, although it was a small, quirky one that only touched one side of his face. "Well for one thing, they're endangered. But the main reason why is because it's my job. It's just what I do." He set the book down on his lap. "The more we know about a species, the easier it will be to conserve. Not to mention people need to be educated about them in order to understand why it's important that they be protected."
Watched him closely looking to the book ever so often. "Ah, Never really thought about that." Laughed slightly. "Though being in prison I've had alot of time to think. I just just never enjoyed spending my time in the library, just the yard." Got a stupid goofy grin on his face as he tried to flex his muscles, the chain on his shackles getting in the way as he did, so he couldn't move his wrist too far apart.
Brian glanced over at him as he showed off his muscle. "Prison, eh?" He said warily, eyeing the shackles. "What... what were you there for?" He asked carefully, hand moving to his pocket, groping for his care keys.
Rubbed his head slightly thinking. "A few things....nothing horable though. I've never killed anyone." Smiles softly. "I've ecxaped a few times. This time I hope to stay out......without getting caught. Though the shackles kind of give me away." Pushed up his sun glasses with a grin.
"Ah." He said, letting his fingers return limply to his side. "And you're certain that it's not better to just... stay in jail and serve time, and then get out when you're supposed to? As opposed to getting caught and having to stay there longer?" Again, as it seemed fond of doing, his bushy orange eyebrow perched up higher in an expression of inquiry.
Grinned leaning against him. "Well see the thing is, in prison I heard of an Island that many convicts have tried to get to but have never made it. I'm planning on heading there. I've got a compase and some food ready with a row boat." Smiled more. "I hope that I will be able to stand the harsh sea."
"An island? Surely if it's close enough to the mainland to get there from a row boat, it won't be hard for the police to follow." He frowned, shying uncomfortably away from Xellos's unexpected body contact.
"I'm not sure how far away, but I doubt they will follow me." Grins a wicked smiles. "They are headed some place else looking for me. I hope they are long gone for a while."
For those paying a ridiculous amount of attention, visible goosebumps tore up Brian's arms when the escaped convict smiled. "What exactly were you put in jail for, again?" He asked, an unseen muscle in his calf twitching nervously.
Laughed slightly seeing him getting nervous. "Nothing big. This last time I just stole a limozine and a few thousand dollars." Moved closer to him. "Don't worry, I see you as a friend, which means I won't hurt you." Patted his shoulder.
"Oh. Okay." He said, an awkward turn to his voice. "So um. What are you going to do once you get to this island? Live off of the land like some kind of modern Crusoe story?" He grinned a tad at his allusion.
"I hope so, but the rumor said that no one will go there because of some wild beast that live on it." Laughed. "And some say the island doesn't exists anymore. I just hope it does and that I can make it there alive." Sighed slightly putting his hand in his pocket to feel the compase. "I think it's my only option."
"A wild beast?" Brian parroted, his interest suddenly piqued. "What kind of beast? An undiscovered species, maybe?" In afterthought, he added, "An island can't just disappear. New islands can be created by volcanic eruptions, but I doubt that it 'doesn't exist anymore'. I think the real question is if it ever existed in the first place. I mean, how reliable can information be when you're getting it from convicted criminals?" He paused. "Er. No offense."
Laughed slightly. "No offense taken. More then one beast.....like a pack. No one ever really gets into detail about the island only that if you make it there that you will be safe from being captued again." Looked up to the sky smileing. "I think I will have no problems with the beasts as long as I can out run them. Who knows? Maybe I will make friends with them." Patted his back hard but not on purpose.
