Story time! ... Sort of. Once upon a time, I came across a shop known as 'Island of Doctor Moreau', m'kay? Thought it was sweet, never really thought of joining, nor of a good character idea. With me so far? Alright then. So, recently, I've been posting in the thread, developing a character idea and pretty much just fell in love with both the shop and my character concept. Whoot.

Now, I've decided to quest. Why? Hell, I can't do this on my own, or without keeping track of how things are going. I'm an unorganized, lazy, perfectionist, don't you know! XD Whoot. Okay, so in this thread you'll find my funds I've earned/kept for this quest, my character concept, and more. (Possibly a little art or graphic shop ... I haven't decided yet.) XD

So yes ... take a look around, enjoy your stay! I don't bite ... hard XD

Please note, that the following is copied straight from the offical thread itself. I did not write this, whatsoever ... well, the next two parts anyways. XD


The Concept
The Island of Doctor Moreau is a new spin-off of the concept of changing or growing pets. Intead of owning a pet that is changing, it is YOU (or your original character) that is changing. Set loosely on Modern Earth, you purchase serums in thread, and then are adminstered them (willingly or unwillingly in character) and given access to the role playing Guild. Over a course of time, directly influenced by the amount of role playing you do in the thread (though auction serums will still cause changes even if you don't role play them just at a slower rate) your character will change, based on the serum he was administered into an anthromorphic animal (or plant).

Your character is your Gaia avatar - assuming your avatar is fully human. If not (or if you prefer otherwise), you can either modify your character to be human (a human-version of your avatar) or you can submit a human OC. Regardless, we highly suggest you have or make an account for RP purposes that has at least the first name of the character.Your character, will feature a certificate image that will be a minipiece of original art showing your character at their current stage ( 0%, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%) you will also be given a full sized version of the piece in your subject journal, which Doctor Moreau will update as your changes progress and your natural abilities continue to grow.

At the end of the fifth piece, you are completely changed, but you can still continue to role play in the thread (I encourage it) offering support to people in their transformations, playing a major (or minor) role in the subplots, or just hanging out in character with your friends.


And now, their certificates are sig-maps! How freakin' cool is that?! Okay, onto the next part! (Again, I did not write this.)


Life On The Island
The guild features an interactive role play setting, with plots and subplots about the goings on of the island everywhere. It has changing times of day (day and night) and actual weather conditions.

Doctor Moreau is a character (which will be role played by Chibi Hige owner and concept creator of the shop) who is responsible for the monitoring of the "subjects" he has so kindly begun transforming. As mentioned earlier Journals will be updated as the subject "progresses" and gains new abilities or enhances existing ones, allowing the subject to role play all this out of course.

As Doctor Moreau I will keep watch over the role play threads in the guild, and try to often times integrate something you've done or something your doing into the journals, and into his own commentary. Remember, Dr. Moreau is ALWAYS watching

Of course there will be various generic NPCs (lab assistants and guards) and a Special Player Character (SPC) of Aubrey Lockheart who is his assistant.

But the focus of everything is you. As all of the subjects and the changes they are undergoing will be very much an aspect of the role play. Some subjects will be more prone to behavoiral changes possibly, while others perhaps not (player's choice of course).

Role playing will be mostly free-form. Certain boundries will be in place of course. First, escape is impossible (unless we work it out in advance because you wish to leave the role play for the time being). Secondly, Dr. Moreau isn't to be harmed, the security measures in his own home and his ability to know where the inhabitants of his island are at any time make that impossible. Third, the devices which allow him to monitor your biometrics cannot be removed without killing your character (how else am I to create journals?).

The Island itself is located somewhere in the fabled Bermuda Triangle. This serves its purposes by providing an almost in-born excuse as to why there might be mysterious disappearances in its viscinity and deter some from looking too hard for further explanations/the Island itself.

Remember, this is a Modern Earth setting often times using alternate versions of your avatar or character, but since it is an Alternate Universe this should be no reason to stop role playing the character as you have previously in other threads. Remember, the role play is intended for a full nonmagical human, so the shock factor of the change will be stronger likely than it would with a typical fantasy or Gaia set character.

When coming up with a character who will become a subject of Dr. Moreau's experimentataions (or using an existing OC) there are SEVERAL ways in which they could have come to the Island and start the Roleplay. Here are just a couple suggestions/options:


- The character signed up for a medical study, expecting to be monetarily compensated for their time, and would require a "short" visit to the facilities.

- The character "won" a free vacation to an Island retreat!

- The character's medical records were flagged by one of the lab assistants shore-side as someone who would take to the serums particularly well, and was contacted, concerned about a "medical condition" that would need immediate specialist attention.

- The subject was just what the Doctor was looking for (he likes diversity to see different' peoples reactions to the process, and was kidnapped

- The subject was a homeless/down on their luck/runaway individual and heard the offer of free room/board on an Island retreat and leapt at the chance.

- The character heard about the Island through special sources and is excited about the concept - and wants to be a test subject.

- The character is with the media or some government group that has heard a rumor about the Island and is coming to the Island to expose and/or stop the research, and ends up a subject.

- The character was shipwrecked/planecrashed on/near the Island.

- The character saw a false add in the paper offering employment.

- Employees or visitors breaching the Feral Laboratory's confidentiality agreement.

- The character has heard rumors that people have been disappearing in the viscinity of the Island, and you've gone to investigate to find out why!

- The character had been a chronic abuser of serum 45 (see below in the serums section) and is looking for a more permanent enhancer.

- Someone Moreau knew (and perhaps had an animosity with) from before he started up the Island

- Anything else you can think of that fits with a modern setting!


Alright! So there you have it. The concept and life on the island?! Ain't that the shiznit?! XD Whoot.

First Impression: Guys will gawk and girls will roll their eyes. Most people's first impression of Aletta is she seems like an independant and powerful woman. One would except her to be the type to become the big boss of a business, probably a fashion line considering her 'unique' sence of style. No one would expect her to be a spanish/italian swordswoman, let alone a thief.
Personality: Aletta is only kind to her two best friends and her tribe members. Other then that, she's a cold hard b***h. Why? Two idiots killed her parents, grandparents and older brother. She seeks revenge and is always on that mission. Aletta is hard-working, independant and seemingly unemotional, but under that hard shell is the sweet, loyal, trusting young woman she used to be.

Soon after, Catori was murdered. When Cirilo was old enough, he followed his father's footsteps as a swordsman. When he was 18, he left to Italy on a mission, where he met Cammeo, Aletta's mother. They were married a year after they fell in love and had a baby boy. Four years later, they had moved to California and they gave birth to Aletta and our point-form story begins.

The Island

Arrival: That was it. Claec and Blake had enough. They couldn't kill Aletta like the way that they killed her parents and grandparents ... they had to do something new ... crafty. She was looking for them, and she was always expecting them ... so they couldn't use surprise ... or could they? They had kidnapped her older brother once upon a time ... (Not telling what they did with him, because no one knows ... except them ... plus it's a surprise ... plot advancer.) Maybe that would work for her? Nah ... there must be another way.

So another way it was. Blake had happened to come across an advertisement, stating one could win a free trip in an island in the Bermuda Triangle. He had to laugh. No one survived once they crossed into the triangle. Bringing the ad back to Claec, they thought it was worth a shot. Filling out the form to what they thought would sound like Aletta the best, they submitted it. (Yeah, they kind of stalk her.) But after weeks of waiting, they were disappointed to find out they had lost.

's**t.' Was Claec's only comment. They had to kidnap her ... but how to kill her ... that was a different plan. Of course, put two and two together, and Claec thought of a brilliant idea. Sure, they hadn't won the contest into the Bermuda Triangle, but hell! Who was to stop them from throwing Aletta into the cargo cell?

The ship was leaving in a week, and that's all the time they needed.

The day of the departure, Claec and Blake had followed Aletta into the merchant's market ... they were sure she was on a mission, possibly for food. It was Venice, and Aletta was the best thief around ... it was crowded that day, so no one would probably notice. Perfect.

Of course, Aletta was expecting them, like she did every other minute of her life. However, they had hired a hit man, that she wasn't expecting. Why? Not sure ... but it worked. A top one of the buildings sat a sniper with a tranquil gun. He stood and waited for the single.

Claec glanced up and saw the sniper standing there, then glanced over to Aletta. She was in the exact spot that he wanted her to be in. Right in front of a dark and deserted alley way. Blake looked up at the snipper and nodded, while flipping him off.

The signal.

The shot. The fall. No one noticed when the two men took the young woman away into the alley. To make sure she would not awaken just yet, or for a while, they shoved a cloth in her mouth full of that sleeping liquid and it would keep her knocked out for a long while. They also added another tranquil dart in her upper back just to be on the safe side.

Wrapping her up in a bag, they made their way to the ship. They were in luck too, because it was just about to depart. Throwing her into the cargo cell when no one was looking, they took off, laughing and smirking.

Weeks went by, and the drug still wore on with Aletta. It was amazing how long it lasted ... possibly an illegal drug ... most likely actually.

Finally, she awoke three weeks later, just as the boat crossed into the Bermuda Triangle ... that's when disaster struck. A massive, unexpected storm was born, tossing the boat from side to side. Water splashed over the sides, and eventually, the boat hit a piece of a ship wreck and began to sink.

Aletta was awoken to the feel of water, but just as she sat up to wonder what they hell was going on, she was hit in the back of the head with a piece of debre and was knocked out.

The next morning, Aletta awoke to a splitting head-ache. Needless to say she was glad ... she had been asleep for what seemed like forever, and she was very sore. The sun was shining ... and she was alive. The last thing she remembered was being in Italy ... Venice, to be exact ... about to get an afternoon fruit, when everything went black. No! Wait ... the last thing she remembered was waking up to water, but just as fast as she woke up, everything went black again.

What the hell was going on? UGH! It was probably Claec and Blake. That was what she thought anyway. It was then she realized she was on a sandy beach ... but ... where was she.

Turning around, she looked up to see a mountain and just visable ... a building.

The beautiful Blue Swallowtail Butterfly is one of the more unique and special species of these insects. Unfortunately for this, they are often used for art pieces and butterfly collections. The reasons for there special status?

Obviously the Blue Swallowtail Butterfly is of course, blue (and they are also attracted to blue objects from up to 30 metres; males especially because they think that they may be females. XD!) The Ulysses is hard to catch on photograph due to the fact its colors change a little from a light bright blue to a darker, rich blue depending on type and angle of lighting. But their colour also appears as flashes, making it hard for predators to follow it. However, while resting with wings closed, the Ulysses butterfly appears a brown shade, which makes it blend in with it's surroundings.

The Ulysses Butterfly lives in tropical rainforests and surburban gardens, considering, like all butterflies, they feed on nectar; but they will only stay a few seconds on each flower to avoid predators. Usually, the Ulysses Butterfly can be found feeding on Euodia (a tree with clusters of small, pink flowers growing straight out of the branches), for it's their favourite food.

On top of my quest to actually get the serum, I've got this little side quest to get two additional serums called 'Extra Limbs Serum'. This is pretty much the definition of it, written by Dr. Moreau:

Serum 114 Extra Limbs serum. An additive serum that might be able to be administered to subjects at any point in their development to grow alongside with other morphological changes. This serum can be used to grow two extra arms, OR, in the case of avians and bats, forces the wings to grow from the back as opposed to being converted from the human arms.
Price: 250k

Yes, a wopping 250k.

It would be used to force the wings to grow out of Aletta-Sacro's back instead of from her arms or it would be so she can grow an extra pair of arms, giving her six 'legs' much like a real butterfly has. I want this extra serum in order for Aletta to actually become more of a Blue Swallowtail Butterfly then she would have become without it.
