The Household/The House
Nestled in the Roanoke Valley of Virginia is a house. From the outside, it is unassuming. Its sides are white vinyl, it's three and a half stories tall (including the basement and attic), and it sits on a street of identical houses, all either brick or with qhite vinyl siding. The most distinctive features of the house are its green porch and an ivy-covered archway at the end of the front walk. Besides that, utterly unremarkable.

But there are rumors. The neighbors talk. Strange occurances around the house. Residents who never venture outside. A cat that viciously chases dogs so consistently "Beware of Cat" signs had to be put up. This house is not a mere wood and brick structure.

The House technically exists in two dimensions. It has its physical basis in reality, but also exists in a separate pocket universe. The pocket universe is called simply "the Household." It was the brainchild of an art student and a former space princess. They found themselves with more family than the house could actually allow for, so they mirrored it in a pocket dimension and expanded its internal dimensions to far bigger than its external dimensions. The result is a mansion nestled in a middle-class neighborhood.

The dimensions of the house vary depending on how many people are in residence at any one time. It always has the same general layout, though. The front door opens into a large family/living room with three couches and an entertainment center. Two of the couches (in reality a single teal lether L-shaped couch which was split) are in front of the entertainment center. The third, a white pull-out couch, is on the opposite side of the room among some bookshelves. Near the white couch are a small sunroom, bordering the front porch, and two closets, one on either side of the couch. Double French doors lead into a dining room. The dining room flows into the kitchen, which is probably the most modest area of the house. There are two doors from the dining room, one leading to the downstairs bathroom and the other to an office. There's a laundry room off the kitchen. Through the laundry room is the back porch, which borders the office.

In the living room, on the side with the entertanment center and dual couches, is a stairwell leading to the second floor. There's a large hallway at the top of the stairs with more bookshelves. There are five doors off the hallway. The first, and nearest the stairwell, is the upstairs bathroom. Next to that is the Master Bedroom. After that are two other bedrooms and an upstairs computer room/office. The first bedroom is Em's room. The second is the Guest Bedroom, which features doubly-wide bunk beds, capable of sleeping up to six people, or four people comfortably. There's an upstairs sunroom off the Master Bedroom with a pull-out couch.

The attic can be accessed by pulling down the attic stairs from the ceiling. It's used mostly for storage, but there are a few cots up there for sleeping as well. The basement can be found through a door in the kitchen. It's primarily a leisure room, with a small bar, several plush couches, board games, and another TV.

Various folk have taken up residence around the house. Feien fairy Simon and his cavalcade of pets occupy one of the closets next to the pull-out couch in the living room. Kancho usually sleeps on the pull-out couch, though it is often used by security personnel or guests, most commonly Max and his wife Sally. The nearby downstairs sunroom serves as Emperial's computer room and office, and is more generally called the "sunroom office." The two couches in front of the TV often serve as beds. Emperial prefers to sleep there when not sleeping in her own room and Talos sleeps there when visiting. The main office downstairs is used by Kancho during the day for various work. The kitchen is Max's domain. Corvus lives on the back porch when in residence. Rikard sleeps in the upstairs guest bedroom on the top bunk. Various security personnel take the bottom bunk depending on the shifts. Kancho sleeps in the Master Bedroom sometimes; other times Max and Sally do, or they sleep on the pull-out couch in the upstairs sunroom. Jango usually sleeps in the attic. Various guests have slept in the basement, though it gets very chilly in there at night.

There are always at least three live-in security guards, usually more. The house is amply defended by both these guards, most of whom are assassins or similarly stealthy fighters, and magic defenses. There is a rune barrier around the property.

A portal on the front porch allows easy access to the feien shop and Gaia. It is a two-way portal and can be used by feien and feien owners. There's a park down the street in one direction and a small neighborhood commerce center in the other, with a few restaurants, an organic food mart, a grocery store, and a movie theatre. There are a number of churches scattered around the area in every direction; at least eight within walking distance.

Personality:
Corvus is one of the most unpleasant feien around. He's short of temper, frequently in a bad mood, and prefers to be left alone to fester. He's the resident grump of the group. All the other feien exist only to annoy him (from his point of view at least) and nearly every encounter with the others ends badly. He does not approve of having other people meddling in his affairs. He hates cute, fluffy, happy things (and that means you, Gogol). He's overly serious in nature, pessmistic, and is quite convinced tomorrow will be the last day of the feien race. One of these days, he may even be right.

He's also terribly arrogant. Not only does he stand alone as the sole summoner fairy, responsible for the fate of his species, but he's extremely intelligent and a natural whiz with magic. As a result, he tends to see other feien as beneath him or less than he is, and once someone engages him in conversation it usually becomes very obvious.

Though he's quite introverted, Corvus's unwillingness to make friends is not a natural aspect of his personality, but something he imposed upon himself. He believes any friendships will only end poorly, and romance is doomed. He tries not to let himself get pulled into either, but when opportunity presents himself, he finds it hard to resist. He's not particularly wise and frequently loses his head in the moment. Often he goes from being friendly one day to cruel the next and rationalizes any accidental friendships with excuses. He feels a need to push people away from him before they get too close. After all, if they get too close they might uncover his secrets, most of which he's too ashamed of to speak about.

As a note, Corvus speaks English, Latin, some Spanish, some Japanese, and Rhea, an alien language. All these languages were gotten from Emperial.

Some other things Corvus gets from Em: a bit of narcissism, atrocious eating habits, phobia of touch, desire for massive amount of power (and the included corruption), fixation on specific people or items (closer to an obsession), a thirst for vengeance for insults both actual and perceived, a penchant for cruelty to others, love of reading

Corvus is Latin for crow or raven. As Corvus has black wings, it's particularly appropriate, though he is actually named after another Corvus from the past.



"Simon" is from the Greek of the Hebrew "Shim'on" and means "he who hears" or "listening." It originated as a given name, but it also a surname in several cultures.
