he looks like a baby clown, because he's bald except for some odd tufts of hair. he is rather scary! when i first saw him i kinda went "woo, what's THAT?"

I think the hair is what's bothering me...
I mean, the eyes are kind of precious, in a cold, dead way.
But the hair... looks like some old nostalgic clown, if that makes any sense...

it does! either that, or a kewpie doll (they were popular 50 years ago; they were babies with big eyes & a weird little curl that was part of their heads)
