Yes, I've finally decided to create a thread for updates, instead of randomly posting them in the auction thread, so everyone gets a fair chance of seeing them. All of these updates are as of November 4, 2006.November 4, 2006:I've removed the emotes from the Quest Logs for now until I have the time to create a more efficient system (I already know how, but I don't have the time).
It looks like I'll finally be getting my cut from Google this month. Thank you all that had been clicking!
As of the first of this month, I've taken note of any member that "never" logged in. Their QSes are up for adoption, but I'm only putting a few out at a time so the adoption page loads faster. Remember, if you already own one on any Gaia account that you own, you are not allowed to adopt for yourself.
Oh, and last but not least, I'm going more in-depth into Flash this year in tech, so I might be pulling off something like some sort of game involving a few Sheebils. This is just a maybe, so don't get your hopes up too high. smile

December 8, 2006:The New Years Giving Star is here! If you'd like to participate in MY version of "Secret Santa," log in and click "Join" on the little blue box above your QS after reading the text and being okay with it.
If you're confused, that's okay, I'll make it more clear when I'm not falling over from looking at bland code all night. >.<
NEW Quest Sheebil auction! Candy! It's been awhile since the last auction, so I decided to put that little something something together just in time for the season. smile
Google paid up the $100 (and some change), and I free lanced a small project, so I can renew yellow-ducky.com again this year...Meaning...Quest Sheebils live on! biggrin (I'm still debating on removing the ads just yet, though...They seem to be very helpful to me.)

January 21, 2007:I hope your New Years and holidays were well! The New Years Giving Star went better than I expected, with 94 participants! I'm not sure how many people were shady and didn't give a gift to their chosen person, but hopefully all is well. ^.^
The auction for Candy went well, too. 25k was the winning bid by Mistaken_Life. I like auctions - they make me feel like the new Sheebil will be taken care of. biggrin
I recently had to update the adoption system due to the many members that were adopting and I didn't realize it. Now it's automated and easier to understand (I hope!), so less confused people will be pestering me now. As always, the adoptable Sheebils are fine to buy for someone. There were some kinks in the system for the past 3 days, but with the last test I did a few hours ago, it looks like everything's going to be okay.
I might give a few of the inactive ones away free in exchange for being a guinea pig.
Also, I've always debated adding in a small feature for members to be able to change their password. The script's half way done, but I'm still not sure if I feel like it's safe to release yet. neutral We'll see...
Another thought I had was to take the suggestion of a few people a long time ago to let members create and buy their own shirts featuring their favorite avatar look and their Sheebil. Asking about this in the Auction/General Chat page leads to the message that I should hold off on the idea, at least for now. 3nodding
So on to the two new features. The first is one I've always debated on adding, but I finally decided just to go for it. You can now change your password from your control panel! Also, if you're tired of your QS and feel that you won't ever use it again, you can give it up for adoption, using the same page the password change form is on.
Please know that for both forms your current QS passwords are needed, just incase you're logged on and your "friend" decides to be "funny." biggrin

January 27, 2007:The new adoption system is working very well. There's only ONE page of "Never" logged in members. biggrin I've also sent PMs to the members that haven't logged in since August to remind them to log in or give up their Sheebil. Such a shame for anyone to waste all that gold they paid for their Sheebil, only to give it up for adoption. sad Oh well, I guess.
In other news, as the latest poll on the Chat thread stated, there'd be a new feature. Well, there is! One new feature, and one fixed feature.
The new feature is that you can now UPDATE the status of the items in your Wish List!
The fixed feature is in the search feature for changing your quest. Before if you typed in a keyword, a little box would pop up to prompt you your status on that weird jacket. razz Not anymore! smile
Oh, and I've gone against the idea of letting users update their username and/or Gaia ID. Why? - It took me 5 seconds to realize how many people would change their username to such stupid things as "pie" and "OMGit's Pantsless!" then of course I thought of the most annoying possibility, "GIMMIE GOLD!" and "DONATE NOW!!!q123@sign". So, in conclusion, no manual name changes. >.<
In non-Sheebil news, I won First Place in the Districts Web Design (2 person team) competition! I will not be here on Tuesday, as I will be getting my medal. Then in March, I'll be gone for three days to compete in the States competition.
Also, my birthday is on Monday (29th). I'll be 18. xd

February 4, 2007: Usually I wait until I update a bunch of smaller things to update, but I just couldn't wait. I held it off long enough, and now finally . . .
I've released my new version of a mini quest tracker! You'll have to click the button that looks like the image above to generate one. You'll only have to copy the code once, because they are set up to be named as your Gaia/QS user ID number.
For those of you who are newer, in the summer I had created a mini quest tracker system. It had 5 styles and generated new images all the time. I was sent an email from my host telling me I was using too many resources and slowing the other users down, so I had to remove it until I could find a better method. Over time I just got too lazy to make a new system for anyone to use, and then TekTek came along and decided to make their own version, so I stopped caring.
Anyway, with these new minis, only Quest Sheebil members may use them, and they're only updated when you click the button to generate one. They do not update on their own! If you update your goal amount or savings, you'll have to generate a new mini in order for the image to change. This is to prevent me getting another angry email. Yes, I pay for hosting, but when you're sharing resources with 500+ other paying customers, the system slows. No one likes a slow web site. razz
Another new thing is that I've added a new subforum for reporting site errors. Usually the topics get lost and I never see them until days later, and PMs I usually avoid reading since usually they're begging/trash PMs.
To update on my last update there WERE still one or two issues with the changing quest feature, but they're all fixed now and everything is happy once again (yay!)
The last thing is that my birthday went pretty well, but I'm sorry I didn't get any chance to really pay attention to my birthday thread! Eeep! I ended up being taken out to eat with a few family members and the next day I went to go pick up my gold medal for a Web Design competition I competed in.
Thank you to those who posted and gave me random gifts: They were nice. smile

February 10, 2007:New quest status look! I got tired of the numbers/words being so uneven, so I've adjusted the look. This now also gives a better chance for people to understand you might be questing more than one item, say like when you're questing Chicky Ties.
There were a few people that decided to update their QSes when I was working on the new layout. I wasn't expecting that. >.< Anyway, if you're one of those people, update again and everything will be as it should again.
The mini trackers seem pretty helpful. I've been looking at the number of generated minis and how many are actually in a sig: It's an alright ratio. I completely understand the need to preview this new feature then to just leave it sit. I don't like that idea because it takes up space, so here's a preview right here:

March 4, 2007:Quest selection page updates! A few changes that I've made over the past week or so are that you can now search a keyword and press the 'enter' key without the wishlist box popping up. Also, you can change the search term in the address bar again. Not only that, but quotes are now back in names (well, most of them, anyway, the ones I found)!
The biggest change is that you can now choose the method of how you plan to pay for the item you're questing, either gold or tickets. You can also choose to show that you're just questing a certain amount of the item. This feature was requested awhile ago, but today I decided how to make that possible most efficiently.
Mini trackers now will always have a black font! Before the font color would match the item displayed, but too many items created a light color, so now I've changed that so the color is always black.
Uhh...I'm pretty sure that's it. >.<

March 13, 2007:New Subforum! Due to unpopularity, I've replaced the "Quest Threads" subforum with the new "Quest Sheebils! Exchange!" subforum. It's almost like the regular exchange forum, but a little different. To make it easier to get there, I've placed a link to the subforum in the links bar for anyone who's logged in. Go check it out. smile
URL fixes! If you haven't already noticed, you can now access public pages without needing the ?user= in the URL. I've updated the sig codes to reflect this, too.
I also allow for linking to http://gql.yellow-ducky.com/your Gaia id# instead of http://gql.yellow-ducky.com/img/your Gaia id#. If you leave out the "img" part and go to the link, you'll notice it will seem like you're not logged in. This is only because you're not in the same folder and cookies don't travel through folders that well.
If you don't understand that, then uh... basically, you ARE logged in, but just not on public pages.
If you're totally lost, here's examples (they all link to MY public page):
http://gql.yellow-ducky.com/img/?user=555252 http://gql.yellow-ducky.com/img/555252 http://gql.yellow-ducky.com/555252
So now hopefully linking won't take up too many characters for you now. ^.^
Memberlist search update! That's right, another search update, but this time it's just for the memberlist. Now you can choose to search who's questing what item. You can use this feature for several things, but I use it mostly to see how popular some items are to quest, like tickets.
I think it might be a nice tool if anyone owns a charity and is looking for people collecting game items or whatever to help someone out. Just a thought. razz
The last update: Your username after "Welcome" now links to your control panel. I did this to make room for the "the exchange" link.

April 3, 2007:Quest Sheebils! Shop open! Until April 8, the shop will be open for business again. Order a new Sheebil, or get gold by referring your friends!
Sheebil Goodies! You can now get goodies for your Sheebil! For your first hug, then every 250 hugs you get, you'll get one of the 10 available items at random (multiple items are possible), and up to 10 items total.
For older members: You don't have items equal to the amount of hugs you currently have, so everyone starts out at the same place. New members get one on their first hug to be encouraged to navigate the site more and see all the site features.
What items are there? You'll just have to go get some hugs! surprised
[edit]: Several of you are wondering: "WTF r deez 4?" The answer is simply that I'm not sure yet, and until I figure out what I'd like them to be for exactly, the items are just for neato decoration. 3nodding
Happy Easter!

April 18, 2007:Quest Sheebils! Shop STAYING OPEN!! Yup. I really like having the opportunity to meet new people and actually hold a little conversation instead of giving out all robotic responses like with the adoptions. It's much easier to recognize current members this way, too.
This also means that you can STILL get credit for referring your friends! biggrin If you have a few friends that might be interested, check out my incentive to bug them. ^.^
Logging out works again. For some reason, some computers weren't allowing people to log out correctly. I fixed this, thanks to those amazing pixie sprites! 3nodding
Last, but not least, FAN ARTS! If you haven't already, check out Do Not Feed The Animal's Sheebil art! I like it. smile
. . . If you have any hidden Sheebil art, don't be afraid to let me see, I've been tempted to make a fan art wall, but so far there hasn't been much of anything to put up. Once a long time ago someone made a short comic with Sheebils, but I forget who they are and everything. If that was you, LET ME KNOW! >.<

April 29, 2007:NEW FEATURE!: Sell Me . . . ! Ya better like this one. It was going to save it until summer to work on, but I got a little bored on Thursday afternoon and got to work on this giant headache masterpiece.
It's another unique invention of mine. The first since the GQLs. I'm proud of myself. 3nodding
Alright, so after the patting myself on my back, let me tell you what this is all about. First, the link to the page is on the top far right of the links list, where "Random User" used to be. Secondly, for those too lazy to check where this is, it leads here.
ANYONE is free to use it for as many offers as you'd like. Yup, that's right. AND IT'S FREE! smile . . . I already figured out how many imitators will come up and try to claim their take on this system, and I'd like to prevent profit of the idea.
I've already thought of the next feature, but it'll be exclusive to members again. Possibly. I'll be using the same types of methods from this new feature to create it. You'll also be able to make as many of these as you'd like. ^.^ Look for this VERY soon. 3nodding
New Subforum? So a few of you have created some nifty Sheebil arts, and I'd like to not leave them just standing around. A certain someone donated like 3,000 gold to the guild, and the only thing we can use it for is a new subforum, so it's time for some good thinking here. >.<
I was thinking about a subforum to put all the art threads. I'd like YOUR input!
My 3rd Gaian Anniversary is on May 3rd! Yay to me! Three years on the third of the month. razz
Thanks for all the kick a** comments and presents! I'll be giving a special gift to those who gave me presents, and also to those who post in my 3GA thread (invite when you log in) on the 3rd, 12am - 11:59pm EST! It's nothing too very special, but it's still a nice little thank you. 3nodding

May 4, 2007:NEW FEATURE!: My Wishlist! This is that new feature I hinted to in the last update. Sister feature to the Sell Me . . . ! thing (that needs to be advertised in the Guides & Resources forum that someday I'll get to...)!
I've been wanting to make this for a very long time, but I wasn't educated enough yet to take on such a task. For those that also code, let's just say I now understand arrays. >.<
I don't think I need to explain this, since wish lists are everywhere these days, except this one you make yourself with no use of any image editing programs. Basically, this feature is completely free to ANYONE to use, and you can make as many as you'd like (like the other new feature). As of right now, they will have just a blue/white background. I might change my mind in boredom and adapt the ability to choose colors soon.
Anyway, now to this feature!
Experience this awesome new feature!
My 3GA went well! Lots of nice comments/compliments/gifts...especially the gifts. My house is yellowed with Chickies from this Easter's event. biggrin
For those who were around yesterday for my actual anniversary, you've been given two things: 5307 hugs, 5.3.07, get it? >.< . . . and a "3GA" piece of candy for your Sheebil's Goodies Shelf. smile
To those who got all of these hugs, they're just hugs, no attention involved except some code, so no attention was added. For more attention points, go bug your friends to hug your Sheebil. surprised
-----------------> Can't forget about Sparkles!!! The raffle for Sparkles, the Sheebil seemed a little off because only four people entered. I know I put only three would get one, but I felt bad and all four get one! Yay!
The awesome 3GA thread!

September 1, 2007:Ducky's back! I can't believe I didn't add an update before I moved, but oh well now. razz I wasn't expected to be without internet for so long. I guessed a week tops, but no, 2 months. gonk
I can't be as active as I was before I got involved with moving and all that. I'm in college now and have a job - both take up most of my time. I'm afraid I'll have to close the thread down for QS orders again until I can get caught up with all the people that actually STILL are interested in a Sheebil.
Site updates will still happen when needed. Just this morning I updated the Wish List feature so that anything with apostrophes doesn't mess up and stick in whatever list it's in. Yesterday I updated the My Wishlist! and Sell Me! pages to include the "recently added" item listing option.
Sheebil Oekaki! I figured that since there's a Sheebil Fan Art subforum, there should be an easy way of making it, plus whatever else you all might have ideas for drawing on an online drawing board.
I'll be working on it for the next couple of weeks. It would be the next few days, like I was able to do before, but now I have a job... >.>
You won't need to sign up, since your QS (Gaia) username will be the same. You will need to log in to the page separately until I feel like being nice and taking the time to alter the log in code. biggrin
You'll be able to draw and edit pictures, as well as give/get feedback. The downside is that guests cannot post comments just yet. There's that ever-looming problem of SPAM bots that think it's funny to post multiple links to "enhancement" sites.
I'll be needing a few comment/image moderators, too, on that note. I'd like to keep the board without adult imagery and without crude language/flame wars. I have a few people in mind already, but I need about three more. If you're interested, PM me and let me know how much time you spend online in a week, and if you'd delete a comment like: "This picture sux, like you. FAIL," and why (the "why" is key).
Where'd everyone go? I noticed everyone kind of floated away from being active on the forums and especially the guild here. I'd like to change that, but again, I'm not sure how. Maybe I'll add a little spambox subforum...but since I don't really care what's posted in this main forum, unless it's bigoted and just plain rude, I see no actual need for it.
Also, I'd like to ask for suggestions on contests and (reasonable) additions to the site/guild. PM me any ideas, and I'll work with the idea if it's plausible, and continue to make much-needed upgrades in how addictive/useful Quest Sheebils are. xd
That's all I have to update on for now...

November 29 2008:
So, I bet all of you are thinking something along the lines of "Ducky's back?! Bout damn time!" Well, I'm only back to post the following...
---> Finally, after all my days of worry-worting over people stealing identities, I stopped caring anymore. I refused to come back, even to update user names. I still do. So...as a result... You can NOW, (I know, after ALL THIS TIME) change your user name and if you got a new account, you can also update your gaia user id.
Just log in and go to the bottom of the main user panel to "Account Controls" which used to be called "Change Password / Terminate Account ."
Enjoy. smile
