This doesn't have to do with abortion, but it does have to do with Pro-life and I was interested in what people thought about it. I mean...pro-life isn't all about abortion, and if it is, well, you can just lock this or delete it or whatever. but I was wondering what people thought about it.

Terri Schiavo Denied Last Communion

Three days after a Florida court ordered that Terri Schiavo's feeding tube be removed so she would starve to death, her priest was barred from administering the sacrament of Communion one last time before she dies.

During a visit on Saturday to the hospice where she currently resides, Schiavo's parents, Bob and Mary Schindler, were joined by Monsignor Thaddeus Malinowski, who came to administer the Catholic rite of Viaticum, the last communion for a Catholic before death, the Associated Press said.

Police officers guarding the entrance to the hospice told the Schindlers that ingestion of the Communion wafer would violate a doctor's order that nothing be placed in Terri's mouth.

Though the priest promised to use only a small piece of the wafer, moistened with water to prevent choking, an attorney for Terri's husband, Michael, barred the procedure, allowing Malinowski to administer only a "spiritual Communion."

I'll add more later. I think it's outrageous.
But hey, I guess if a guy wants to get a few million dollars to put his wife through therapy, then take her out and sue and get more money, then not per her back in treatment and use some of that money for legal fees to pay to get her taken off her feeding tube so he'll inherit her money and be able to marry his girlfriend and give his daughter a last name (that's right, a daughter with his girlfriend while his wife's life is on the line) it's America and he has the right to decide who lives and who dies.

People are stupid. They tend to follow orders without question or common sense. I'm sure the doctor wouldn't care if they allowed the little bit of wafer. That doctor simply hadn't foreseen the situation. sweatdrop

Yes, Jeb made them put the tubes back in. My mom was following the whole thing really closely back when it was going on... I don't remember what happened after the tubes got put back in, but I remember Jeb ordering it to happen.

there's a bit of a turnaround maybe....her husband isn't bringing something he's supposed to.

I just find it odd that:

Mysteriously injured woman gets oxygen cut off due to what looks like domestic violence.
Husband gets money to care for her...MAJOR money.
Pulls her out of the place that she was getting better in.
Suddenly, he remembers she doesn't want to be on life support.
As there's no will, he gets all the money if she dies.
Gets a girlfriend, has a child (or two? don't remember....) with her.
Fights to get her tubes taken out so she'll have a long and painful death.
All her money will go to him.
All her money will go to him.
and his child.
and his child's mother.

Hmm, gotta wonder how many judges he's bribing....

I know what you're saying. But I think that this was, in part, something where Pro-Lifer's wanted her to be saved, and Pro-'Choice'rs wanted to be against Pro-Lifers. So they worked to convince the judges that, since she 'made the choice', it should be honored.

lol. she never made the choice though. that's the hard part....she told her best friend she thought it was awful when people took sick people off life support when they had a chance. Her husband and his brother are the ONLY people who ever heard her say anything to the contrary, and the quotes they used were not only different, the words were completely out of character. Maybe if they'd decide where the bruises and breaks on her came from, it'd be marked up as attempted murder and they'd be livid that he tried to kill her for her money. Or maybe they'd be so stubborn they'd insist she die anyway.

I read an article by Terry's father and it revealed a lot about what Michael is doing to her.

Did you know he actually has been heard saying (and this is more than once) "When is that bi*** gonna die?!" Did you know that he's also been found injecting her with stuff that puts her into diabetic shock? And he forbids any treatment--there's stuff they do to stimulate salivation...I don't know much about it, but he prevented that. He won't even let them put a cloth in her hand to keep her from hurting herself with her own fingernails.

She recoils when he comes in. When he hear's she's been doing more poorly than usual, he calls in and is loudly dissapointed when she starts getting a little better. The nurses testified to this.

He's a monster. We've really gotta take action, because if Michael ends up winning all his legal arguments, she'll be killed. This is absolutely a pro-life issue.

Sorry I'll shut up and stop rambling now sweatdrop !!

There's a large suspicion that he actually caused her handicap. She was found on the ground. she'd mysteriously fallen with bruises all over her, oxygen to her brain was cut off for I think....6 minutes. maybe 8. See, that's the real problem with heart attacks, too, after 5 minutes without oxygen (carried through your blood, of course) your brain starts releasing toxins and unless you get that person breathing within 5-10 minutes, it's very likely there will be permanent damage. But yes, she hadn't been ill, there was nothing there to trip her, she just fell, but doctors wondered about bruises she had on her....well, he's a horrid man, anyway. He's so....gah. I hate people like that, and that's hard to get me to hate someone.

Yeah...it's really scary. I read some more about her and she's actually gotten worse. She used to be able to talk and even say, "help me." But now...
I wonder if her husband knows she's not vegetative and is actually trying to drive her into that state so he can get her money. (..that's so evil..)
