Life Story! Beyond the Statistics Trellos is the kind of child who is clumsy and not so quick on the draw...wh overanalyzes EVERYTHING, and who you hope will grow out of it, eventually. Once he's figured something out (or thinks he has) he'll stick to it, until he finds out otherwise, and when he does, he has a good memory for what is right.

Role Play Log
6-6-06 (A glorious day for a hatching)
Alone in the forest, the egg began to tremble. It had sat there for a while...how long? The creature inside didn't really know. It could have been hours, or it could have been decades. Time had very little meaning at that moment. Up until then, the creature inside had been developing...making sure that it had all the parts nature intended it to have. Now there was something else....it felt like that stage was over, and it needed to do something more. So it flexed.
Small hairline cracks began to appear in the surface of the shell. All the creature really knew of this was that now thre was a bit of cold air, and light. The small creature flexed again, and more cracks appeared. More drafts, more light. Slowly, and using muscles that it TRULY hadn't know that it had, it began to stretch out. And eventually the small cracks widened, and the creature was born.6-7-06
Though the world was muted and his eyes weren't open yet, the young one could get a bit o fthe sounds from the air through its vibrations, and the light shining through his eyelids to his barely formed eyes was enough to tell shadow from sun. It seemed to him like there were others nearby, and so he worked to try to crawl away from the shards of his past home. Crawling was hard work for muscles that had never been used, but eventualy he managed to snuggle up against another creature. Who or what it was, however, he wasn't sure.Sakura creeped over to the other hatchling, "Welcome to the World! Its a beautiful day," she sang over and over. She thought it was a nice thing to do, even if what Hana said was true and the little pup couldn't hear her. She would have wanted to be sang to once she was born.Hana grumbled, she's singing...again. Maybe I should find someone to teach her to sing correctly. She's such a silly girl. Hana jumped ontop of Sakura's back and pet her head. "Hana! I'm not a little baby! You don't need to pet me," Sakura whined. She was growing up, she didn't need to be pet all the time. Sakura continued to hop around the new pups. "So cute~ So cute!" Hana grumbled and tried to hold on to Sakura's hair, "I'm going to fly off of you!! Ahhhh~ Calm down, Sakura!"Something was DEFINATLY going on...vibrations EVERYWHERE! It seemed like the air was moving, and then it felt like something kept hitting the ground here and there. Things were so confusing! My goodness, though the little one, If life is like this, I'm not sure I want to be born. Whatever it was he had bumped into wasn't there anymore, and it had been comforting for a bit. He tried to call out to it, to see if it would come back, but all that got out was a bit of a grunt."Sakura, shh! I think the pup just made a noise! Go over to him! I bet he'd want to tell you to calm down too!" Hana tried to yell into Sakura's ear, hoping she'd hear over her own singing. Sakura stopped dead and creeped over to the pup, "Hello there! Are you okay? Am I making too much noise? You're a cute one! I wonder what your name is! Do you have someone like Hana? Do they bother you? You're so small!" Sakura had endless questions and she didn't realize that none would be answered.Well...that had accomplished something. The large warm body was near him again, and seemed to be excited about something. Not that he could do much about that. He hoped it would calm down. He sighed. Hey! Wait! I can SMELL it! And it smelled familiar, though he wasn't sure how exactly that was possible. He struggled to say something, and again, it turned into a bit of a grunt. "I think he's cold, Hana! Should I lay next to him. He's so silly! His grunts are funny," Sakura giggled and she lay down next to the pup.Hana whispered in Sakura's ear, "Just don't be so loud and don't get crazy, you don't want to scare him anymore." She sighed and jumped off of Sakura's back to examine the pup.He felt the excited one begin to calm down a bit, and it laid down beside him. It was so WARM! And after the cold shock of not being inside his little shell...and after all this breeze blowing through his fur, it was nice to snuggle against something warm, that blocked the wind. And then there was that familiar smell...why was it so familiar?
Trotting over a hill, Tera and Dac were talking excitedly. They'd heard there was a clutch of eggs around here somewhere, and that the situation was right for them to hatch! Tera hadn't seen a hatching before, and Dac had only seen Tera's...and she was a lonely egg that had apparently moved away from the rest of all the others.
Then, they saw them! Several cute little pups, and another dragonet and a Kane. "Hello!" Tera called over to the pink and white duo. Sakura almost lept up to greet the newcomers but she jolted to stop herself. "I'm sorry about that," she whispered to the pup. She placed her paw on the little pup's head.Hana jumped over and waved to Tera, "Hello! I'm Hana and this is Sakura," she pointed over to Sakura. Hana was suprised Sakura didn't jump up to greet them. "Have you come to see the new pups too?" Ump! Now there was something on top of his head! Oh well. He snuggled in a little closer, and could feel the heartbeat of the larger creature.
The Mamiren was the first to answer of the approaching chocolatly colored pair, but not by much. "Greetings, I'm Dac, and this is Tera."
Right on top of him Tera said, "Oh yes! We did! I've never seen a hatching, or met a pup. I'm Tera, by the way." Altogether it was a pretty hard to understand mishmash, but hopefully Hana had gotten the idea. Tera moved closer to the pups...there were several, of various colors. "Looks like you've made a friend there!" she said, seeing the little red one burried under Sakura's paw."I think I did too! Isn't he adorable?" her voice got much louder and she giggled. "Oh, hi! I'm Sakura, nice to meet you!" Oops! There I go getting all loud again.. Sakura whispered, "We have to be quiet around them, I think he finds me irritating."Hana tilted her head, she had to think of what they had just said but she understood. "Hello Dac," she extended her hand to shake. She was very formal when meeting new people, "There's a lot of pups around now. They're all so small and quiet. For some reason, they make me worry." Hana had thought of Sakura as a pup and shivered, "So reckless," she shook her head. It seemed like there were others around now...more vibrations, more smells. And it almost seemed as though he could understand something...almost....He decided to THINK really hard, and see if someone could get him from that, because saying things wasn't really working out at the moment. Hello? he thought.
"He IS adorable! They all are! Nice to meet you, Sakura! Ohh, and one hasn't hatched yet. Part of me wants to wait here until it does! It's already cracked, so it's gotta be soon, doesn't it?" She moved over and nudged one, then noticed as the small red one wiggled a bit, and lifted it's head just a touch. "Ohh! Your little friend is moving around now!"
Dac's ears perked up a bit, and he glanced at Hana to see if the other sentinel had heard the same thing he thought he had. Carefully, he hopped down, and went over to go look at the little red pup, swishing his tail carefully as he did. "Did you say something?" he both thought and said at the same time. He'd been able to communicate with Tera from the time she'd just hatched....and he thought he could hear what this one was trying to communicate....but it was not terribly clear...almost static.... Sakura moved her paw off of the little pup, "I think he wanted me to get off of head! Sorry, little one!" She stood up and went over by Tera.Hana jumped after Dac, "What's this little one trying to say?" She moved her face really close to the pup's, "Come on, you can do it. Well, maybe you can't! You were just born, but hmm.." She silenced and looked at the little pup then at Dac, "It would be shocking if he spoke today."It seemed like he almost understood something..."did...say...thing..." And then the larger warm body moved away, and he thought he understood something like "do it....can't...born." None of this made much sense, but it seemed like he'd gotten something's attention. And now that the larger one wasn't as close, his sense of smell was able to do more....he could smell something else familiar...and some things that smelled kinda familiar, but not as much. And then lots of blurry smells, that he wasn't sure about. He tried again. Hello? Who are you?
Yes, he had definatly heard SOMETHING that time. "Hello little one. I can not understand everything you say, but I can tell that you are trying, and that is good." He tried to make his thoughts gentle, clear, and simple. He turned to Hana. "I think he said 'Hello', and something about 'who'...maybe who we are? I'm really not sure. I can't understand him like I could Tera.
Tera, for her part, was fascinated. This little thing...which now seemed to be wiggling a bit towards her and Sakura, was so helpless, so sweet, so soft, and so SMALL! And it didn't seem to have someone like Dac or Hana to help it...how would it make it's way? Dac had taught her so much in life. If it couldn't even communicate...how would it find food?

6-8-06 Making new friends "AHHH!" screamed Koko as the creature, that was perhaps twice her size, ran into her. She fell, but was unhurt, and giggled. "I'm ok" she declared, brushing some dirt off her slick, water resistent coat. "Glad Kanako isn't that hyp.." she began, and then groaned. Kanako ran around, suddenly full of engery. He ran after the girl, grabbing her tail "Your IT!" he declared, weaving his way through the threees, and then turning back and coming torwards where koko was again. He wasn't exactly agile, still akward on the leggs, but was able to run with out falling down. that was a acomplishment. Isa smiled genuinely, after -finally- having caught up with the bundle of raging energy that was none other then Petra. She heaved lightly, catching her breath, as she leaned against a massive oak tree for balance. That had been a rough chase- Isa was lucky she'd even caught up in time before Petra had gotten herself killed. Approaching Koko with what she hoped was a cheerful smile, Isa plopped down on the ground in front of the familiar Mamiren. "What a day! So sorry about Petra... She's been like this for the past few hours," Isa explained, her voice void of any enthusiasm whatsoever. "I can't seem to get her to cal-"The moment that Petra felt the slightest bit of pressure upon her long, lanky tail, she'd froze. Her eyes, which had previously glistened with undisturbed happiness and energy, seemed to glaze over almost hypnotically. Within a fraction of a second, Petra had whipped her entire body around, and had shot a glare so feral at Kanako that Isa, who had been watching, slapped her forehead with her tiny paw in a sinking feeling of guilt. The dragonet's nostrils quivered lightly and she snarled softly, whipping her tail away from Kanako before she slunk- very predatorially- back towards Isa, where she promptly crouched against the ground and tried her very best to make herself invisible. ... What had that all been about? All the jumping around going on all over the place woke up the little red furball who didn't have a name yet. He could feel the movements, and could tell that the light was bright again, but wasn't sure what else was going on. That smell was back, that was so comforting yesteday...and there were others. Hmm...would he be like this all his life?Kanako turned around, looking for the female who he had pulled the tail off "Hey" he said gloomily. "I just wanted to pllaaayyy." He added poutingly, looking around for her. "No fun!" he declared, sitting down and crossing his arms. This didn't last long, and a few moments later he got bored, looking around for a new distraction. He looked at koko, with a sudden idea. He picked her up "Your littler then i thought" he said, looking sad. "wanna play tag?" he ask his mamiren.Koko smiled "Kanako's eyes just opened...then he was hit by this fit of enery" she looked at him. It didn't seem to be a fit, it seemed like it was going to last. And last and last and last. A few moments later, she was lifted up, and felt very embaressed "Kanako...no....i don't want to play" she said, knowing he would get her very quickly.Stormy whinned. They were making the ground shake soo much. How was she supost to sleep with all this noise. She made a little screach of displeasure, and tried to crawl away from the ruckus. The little red one seemed to sense that there was something else around that didn't like all the excitement...maybe someone else like himself?..and for an instant, he seemed to know a direction. He started to try to crawl that way, difficult as it was.Stormy felt someone coming torwards her. She changed directions, and went to it, and soon bumped heads with another pup. It didn't realy hurt, since theywere both going very very slow, ubut she made a noise of displeasure none the less. Interested, she sniffed his, putting her paws over his head, and soon began to chew with her toothless mouth on his ear, in a playful manner. Thump! The feel of his tiny skull conking into another one was pretty odd, but it was nice to feel contact with anohter creature again. And this one smelled familiar too! It started chewing on his ear...quite a strange sensation. But it felt right, so he started to lick the other creature...that, too, felt right. In the back of his mind, the red pup thought to himself I think I've ment someone that may become a friend.Stormy felt the warm lick onto her arm, and didn't mind very much. She didn't have a sentinel, nor any parents, so having another creature near by that wasn't making so many vibrationes was nice. She made a little sound of pleasure, as she decided the ear was very much well chewed, and found that there was ANOTHER. How lucky was she? So, she began to chew that one afterwards. her little tail moved back and forth slowly, she was happy to have met another like herself. Apparently the other creature tired of chewing on the one ear, and it moved over to chew on the other. The small red one had a moment of fright...what if chewing on ears was a greeting, and this other was trying to teach him something! Had he gotten something important wrong? Oh no! Without trying to seem rushed, he nosed around until he found the ear. With a squeek of relief, he began to nibble on it. They must have been quite a sigh, with heads turned in such a way to make the double ear-nibbling possible.Stormy felt a pang of irritation as the other chewed her ear, but figured since she was doing it, he was only fair that he could too. She pawed at the ground a bit, feeling the soft flower petals of the next, and let out a long yawn. He felt tired from the crawling and the chewing...it was all so much for a pup who just got out of her shell a few days ago. She yawned again, and stopped chewing the ear to rest her head on the ground, snuggling into the petalsIt seemed like maybe he had done something right...the ohter one stopped with the ear chewing and seemed to lay down for a nap. Mmm....a nap. That would suit him well too. He wondered if the other one would mind sharing his napping space, but decided to risk it, and snuggled down.Stormy cuddled against the other pup, because she was very cold in her thin coat. The ground was still pounding, and she made a hissing noise, as if to try to scare them. It didn't realy work, so she tried digging her head more into the flower petals, which if anything made it worst. She made another hissing noise, louder this time. It continued, those stupid pounders were ignoring her! With an angry groan, she tried to ignore it. It seemed like the ohter one was upset over something. It kept making this strange movement...pushing air out of its little body. He oped he wasn't upsetting it...and started to move away just in case he was. But it had culddled against him, so he thought better, and snuggled some more. Maybe it's getting upset about all of the jumping around, he thought. He certainly hoped so.color=grey]Stormy yanwed, finally too tired to do anything, even hiss. She let herself slowly fall alseep, for who knows how long. When she woke up, the pounding had stopped, to her great joy. She broke away from the cuddle with the other, with new energy, and made an attempt to play, nibbling on his tail, and pulling on it. Standing The small bundle of khaki-coloured pup squeaked a little as he yawned and awakened. Something was happening around him and he wasn't sure what it was. He picked up his little head and bumped into the kane beside him."Oh, good, you're up." Poe chattered, reaching over and smoothing out the young tatsu's down tail feathers. "The others probably woke you, didn't they. That pink and white one is pretty loud. And hyper. I wonder if all dragonets are like that." Poe said as he looked down at the pup which was squirming on his belly towards him.
"Now, now, that's not how you do it. You're going to have to learn to walk instead of wriggling around like a common snake." The kane shook his head and moved the pup so it was facing him. He walked a couple steps away and started patting the ground, calling to the pup. What was going on? The little pup felt his body being moved and the familiar smell and warmth of the other creature moved away. He could feel vibrations coming from the direction the other creature had moved. He tried to move his legs and crawl towards the movement."That's good! Come on, you can do it!" The kane said, scratching behind the little one's ears as he managed to crawl on all four feet towards him. He moved a little farther away this time, still calling and patting the ground to get the little tatsu to come towards him. "Come on little guy, you can do it. Get to your feet now. Come on." He said encouragingly. Why did the creature keep moving away? He was getting frustrated now. He just wanted to get back to the warmth of it if it would hold still, so he could go back to sleep. Struggling to his feet, he stood for a moment, for the first time not feeling so much strain. He had enough and wanted to get back to the warm creature. He made his mind up and put one foot in front of the other, moving slowly but steadily to the source of the vibrations. He thought he could make out something else too as he moved towards the kane...was he hearing? And something else seemed to be happening as well...something blurry was appearing instead of the black he was used to...was this sight? Not knowing really what was happening, he was getting excited now, and he began to move with purpose, walking on all four with a little more ease than before towards the other creature. After more of the moving away and getting the pup to walk towards him, Poe seemed satisfied with the pup's walking skills and relaxed on the grass at the edge of the nest.
"I think that's enough for today, pup." He said, as the little guy lay down next to him, and moved his head up to nudge the kane with his nose. "You know, I can't very well keep calling you 'pup'. You won't be one forever. I wonder if you have a name..or parents..or someone else who would have named you. I don't have any experience with this sort of thing." He said, looking down at the pup who was now nuzzling him and nibbling lightly on the kane's wingtip, making soft squeaking noises.
"You sure are a loving little thing, aren't you." Poe said, rubbing behind the pup's ears. "That's it! I remember a word...a name...that I think would be perfect for you. Kami. It means 'loving'. Do you like that name little guy? Kami?"The nice rubbing behind his ears had stopped and so had the sounds. He was happy the warm creature was holding still finally so he could sleep. He moved his head in the direction where he could make out a blurry shape that seemed to be looking at him. He let out a little squeak and pushed his head into the creature, hoping the ear-rubbing would continue. It did and he began to fall asleep finally."I'll take that as a yes then!" Poe said as the newly-named Kami snuggled closer to him and fell asleep. "Have a good sleep then Kami." Poe too settled down against the pup for a little nap. Being sentinel to a pup tatsu was tough work! The red one's sleep was ended abruptly when the other one who had been so sweetly sleeping near nipped at his tail to try to get it to play. Slightly annoyed, and really not wanting to do that, he rolled in the other direction, and landed back on his feet. He began to try to crawl away a bit. A lot of the comotion had died down, and vibrations seemed to be coming...rhythmically, from somewhere over thataway. He crawled along the ground towards where seemed to be.
Sakura had once again run onto the scene, hoping that her new friend was still around. "Hey little guy! Are you around?" She asked as she bounced around.
Hana hopped behind her, for some reason or another Hana was rather excited that Sakura was so happy. "Sakura! You know we won't find him if you keep moving around," she tried to yell to Sakura but she doubted that Sakura heard her.
The rhythmic vibrations that the young red pup was moving towards were studdenly drowned out by much LARGER ones, more frantic, coming from another direction. They reminded him of something...
Hana spotted the little pup, "Sakura! Your little friend is over here!" Hana waved to Sakura
Sakura was overly excited, "Little pup!!" She ran right over to him, "Awww. How are you doing today?" She pet his head gently.
The movement stopped near him, and he felt something stroking his head. It was rather comforting. And the smell...wait...This was that excited creature from earlier! The sudden knowledge came as quite a shock. It also added a bit of perminance into his small world. What a wonder. He nuzzled against it gently, and looked for an ear to gnaw, since he assumed that was the appropriate greeting. It took a moment, but he found one.
Sakura giggled, "Awwe~ That tickles!" She continued to pet his head, "You're such a silly little pup." She pulled her ear away and plopped next to him, "Have you tried walking yet? I could always help you try!" She treated this little pup as if he was her younger brother, she had wanted a sibling.
The older one had pulled away...but still petted him. Had he done wrong? Right? He was SO confused! And now it seemed to want something from him, but he had no idea what it was. She was laying next to him, so he did the only thing he really knew how...squirmed over closer.
"Here, we'll have you try to walk," She pressed under his stomach to get him to stand, "First you need to gain your balance." She figured the earlier he learned, the better off he'd be.
Hana watched, a little worried. "Just don't let him strain himself! He has to go at his own pace," she said while moving closer to assist the pup. Woah! She was lifting him! And he felt his legs straightening, for the first time in his young life. They were wobbly...and he wasn't sure what exactly what was going on. But when her support moved a bit a way...they wobbled, and they stayed.
For all of about two seconds. Then he plunked back down onto the ground.
"You can do it!" Sakura tried to push him up again and held him for a little, "You were so close! Come on~ You can do it!" She cheered him on and moved her support away.
It seemed like he had done something right! The creature pushed him up again, so it must want him to stand like that. He tried again, and again, for a few wiggly seconds, things were going well. Then he felt his ballance start to fall forward, and reached out a right paw to try to steady himself. It worked! for an instant. And then down again in a heap. He whimpered his dismay.
"I think he's had enough, Sakura." Hana said in a serious tone, she knew that Sakura would keep pushing him if she didn't tell her to stop.
Sakura whined, "But he can almost stand! Just one more try!" She nuzzled the little pup, "Want to try once more? I know you can do it!"
The little one felt like the ohter wanted something from him....he thought he had done well, but wasn't sure, and he seemed to pick up something...not from the larger familiar smelling one, but from the other. "...had enough..." What did that mean? He decided he'd give it one more go...just to see, and if it didn't work....well, maybe he just wasn't cut out for this standing thing.
"See, Hana, he even wants to try once more!" Sakura pushed the pup up once more and held him steady for a little.
Hana sighed, "Make sure you catch him if he falls this time. She was suprised that this little pup didn't have a sentinel of his own, it would be better for him.
In the midst of his last stumble, he'd noticed a flash of brightness. What the heck was that? Hmmm. He pushed himself up again, with the help of the familar smelling one. And this time he stood for a good four or five seconds before wobbling himself back down to the ground. He was proud! He hoped he'd done enough that the other one would be proud of him too. But now he was REALLY tired from all that effort, and decided to snuggle up against the excitable one. She was warm and comfy, and it seemed about like nap time.
Sakura was proud of him, she pet his head and watched him dift to sleep. Sakura yawned and laid her head down and decided to take a nap as well.

6-21-06 Learning to play. His eyes had slowly been opening for a few days, and those vibrations had started to take on a different demension....both sight and hearing were an exciting, and somewhat overwhelming, thing for the young tatsu. He was wandering around in the woods, looking at all these amazing sights! Unfortunatly, those familiar smells hadn't been there since he'd learned to see, so he didn't know if they were associated with anything but the vibrations.Kanako lifted up a leaf. "Stormy? Stormy where are you?" He sighed, she was so difficult. But whatever...she wasn't a little pup anymore, and she could go out on her own just as well as he could. Still, it is so boring being alone! He wanted to play!Lost in his own thoughts, the young red one wandered around. He wished he could find some others. He knew there had been some once....but where had they gotten to? Not that he was paying enough attention to notice if one bounded right into his path at that moment.Kanako heard movement, and whipped around, expecting to see the grumpy little female. But, to his surprise, it wasn't! "Hi!!" he exclaimed, leaning forward. "My name is Kanako. What's yours?" The other looked to be in a bit of a daze. Kanako wondered if he was like "Are you sick?" he asked "Cause i can get my Sentinel, she knows all about making tatsus betterer"That smell! Familiar....but not one he'd smelled before. He was lost in trying to analyze it, when all of a sudden he heard someone speak to him. He assumed it was to him, seeing no one else around. He jumped at the sound. "Hi. um...I'm...I'm not sick. I feel okay." He wondered if he should nibble the other one's ears...that's what the other one had done...and he'd thought it was a greeting. He mentally shrugged to himself, and decided to try. Awkwardly, he moved towards the other, and tried to get ahold of an ear. "Who are you?" he asked, as he moved forward.Kanako's nose twitched...such a farmilar smell.... He tilted his head to the side as the other one aproched him hesitintly. "I'm Kanako. Do you want to play?" he asked, bluntly. No one had yet to realy play with him. One claimed to be too old for games, and the other...well...was stormy.Play? What was this...play? But since he'd never met anyone before, he didn't want to say the wrong thing. "Hi, Kanako," he said, marvling at the wonder of having a name. "I don't know who I am...I've been alone for a while. What do you want to play?" He hoped that he could pretend he knew what was going on well enough to not look foolish. Maybe this "play" was easy. Why was this tatsu acting so strange? He took a step forward, getting a closer look at him. This tatsu was just so, so farmiliar! Maybe he was just going crazy... "How can you not know who you are?" he asked. But did it realy matter? He just wanted to play, all this energy was going to kill him soon! "Lets play tag... your it!" He touched the strange tatsu's shoulder, and then trotted off, looking over his shoulder to see if the other was running after him. Tag? What the heck did that mean? Well, the other one was running, but kept looking back like he wanted something....Another mental shrug, and the red one took off after the other. This whole running bit took a while to get used to, but finally he managed a stride. The other...Kanako, had outdistanced him pretty well, but he was slowly catching up. Excited by the joy of the chase, and the slow closing of the distance, he failed to see the ditch in front of him, and went for a tumble. Not a deep ditch, and he wasn't hurt...but WOW was that unexpected. He fumbled to get up, and climbed to the other side of the ditch.Kanako stopped, and giggled. The other one seemed rather confused...but he caught on fast enough. He slowed down a bit, but sped up again as the other one stopped struggling with running...but then fell in a small ditch! "Whatchu in that ditch for?" he asked, running back. "thats not part of the game, yanno"What? He hadn't thought it was part of the game! He'd tripped! He felt so embarassed. And then he got a clue...maybe this other one was trying to be funny. He laughed a little bit as the other approached. Then he reached out a hand, touched the other one, and scampered off in another direction saying "Tag! You're it!" He hoped he'd actually figured out what he was suposed to be doing."No fair no fair!" said Kanako, running after the other one, a grin on his face. The other seemed a bit more confident now, not so confused and weird. "I'm gunna catch you!" he declared, trying to make his little legs go faster, and slowly began to gain. Kanako had a bit of an advantage, being older, but he wasn't a particularly fast tatsu despite this. YAY! He'd apparently done something right! This was exciting. He wondered if he should slow down some, and let the other tatsu catch him....and he was getting tired. Hey! Brilliant idea. He dodged around some trees a bit, and then hid behind one, jumping up onto a low limb, and trying to stay ballanced, and hoping the other hadn't seen his trick.Kanako panted, he was getting very tired from all this running. Suddenly, the tatsu he was chasing weaved around, making him difficult to see, and then disapeared. He skidded to a stop, blinking, and looking around. "hey! Where didja go?" he wondered, scraching his head. No one had ever just disapeared in front of him like taht before...was this tatsu special? "Are you magic?" he asked, still looking around a bit. The other one had wandered directly under the tree where the little red dragonet was. Magic? He couldn't help but giggle, and then stifled it. He didn't want to give away his position.
Then came the tickling sensation...starting on the edge of his nose, and getting worse. "Ahhh, Ahhh, Achoooo!" he sneezed, falling off of the limb.Kanako heard something faint, and looked around even more. He couldn't have gotten very far, could he? There is no where to go, realy...
Then, he heard a sneezing, then, something hit him from above! "Ee!" he said, looking around in a daze, to see the red one had re appeared again! "How did you DO that?" he asked, his big childish eyes widdening even more then usual. "teach me, teach me!"Teach him? Why did the red one know something someone else didn't? Then it occoured to him that the other hadn't realized he had been in the tree! "It's not that hard. I didn't really disapear, I just hopped up on this limb here." He suited his words with actions, to show the other that it really wasn't anything amazing.
"Try it!"

5-7-07 "So...where exactly were we going again Tera?" the Mamiren asked, starting to get the slightest bit annoyed with his tatsu. He loved her to death, but she could be quite a trial sometimes.
"Oh, I don't know. Doesn't a walk sound nice to you? A walk sounded lovely to me. Besides, it's a beautiful day! Spring has sprung, the grass has ris...I wonder where the birdies is?" She giggled at her own rhyme. "Anyway, I was thirsty. Wanna go get something to drink down by the lake? I'd like to splash around the water some!"A rush of vibration brought Trellos out of his sleep. Even as a pup he'd seemed to be more noticing of such things than many of the others. Someone was coming, and he figured he should go out and meet them. It had been days since he'd seen anyone, and so visiting might be a good idea. Tera was off at a run now, with Dac trying to hold on between her shoulder blades. It was not a common stiling for Tatsu and their sentinels, but her energy didn't really allow him to keep up otherwise. She romped and jumped and almost tripped a few times, and then suddently stopped short and went back a few yards--this time at a walk. The first thing Dac noticed was that the bumpy ride had stopped. Then, as he hopped down, he noticed the look on Tera's face. Oh no, he thought, what now? But instead of his thoughts, he said "Why did we stop? We're not at the lake yet? What did you find? It's not what, but who, silly. I think there's someone over here...someone red. But I ran by so fast I'm not sure.A whirr of color rushed past, and the vibrations slowed. Then he heard people coming back, slower, talking. Ahh, he thought, someone saw me. I guess there's no backing out now.
He stepped forward into the path of the two, and examined what he saw.
Two chocolate colored creatures were approaching. One was a tatsu, and the other was something he didn't recognize. But they looked a matched pair. Cautiously he stepped forward. Somehow I don't think I could get away with nibbling on her ears... he thought to himself. That, as far as he had learned, was a proper greeting. But he wasn't sure in this situation. He would let her make the first move."So," Dac said, "Looks as if you were right. He looks shy though. Maybe I should go fir...."Tera bound ahead of Dac, not really listening to what he was saying. Instead, she was looking at the somewhat younger red male with the nifty stripes. "Hey!" she bubbled. "I'm Tera and this is Dac and it's kinda funny like Pteradactyl, yano?"
After recieving a blank stare for a moment, she tried again, a little calmer. "What's your name?"Sage was sleeping in a nearby bush before the others came close to him. Their voices and actions woke the youngling. His blazing green eyes slowly opened. His tail trashed in the dust. His claws burried themselves into the sand. His ivory fangs flashed brightly as he rose to his paws with a yawn. "You guys are loud," he grunted. The red stood there for a moment, stunned. He had never heard so many words, so loudly, or so quickly eminate from one being at once. It took him a moment to regain his composure.
"Hi. I am Trellos. I don't have anything witty to say about my name." He paused for a moment, not knowing if his next statement would bring him ridicule. "What is Dac?" He looked curiously off towards the sentinel, who was looking at Tera in a fondly perturbed fashion. While Tera was off babbling at the red, Dac was busy looking around. And listening, because one learned to do a lot of that around her. He was somewhat surprised to hear a "You guys are loud" coming from nearby. He turned towards the voice.
"I'm sorry. I've tried to get her to be less rambunsious, but I cannot manage. I'm Dac, she's Tera, and I believe Tera recently pried out that the red fellow's name is Trellos. What is your...." He cut off abruptly as he heard Trellos' question. "Excuse me a moment," he said, heading that way. "What is Dac? That's silly...Dac's a...""Mind if I take this one?" he asked, hoping it would quiet Tera. "I'm a Mamiren, a sentinel that helps take care of young Tatsu. I found Tera when she was a pup, and I've been her friend since." There, that made a lot more sense than anything she would have said.
