Role Play Log

6-3-06

Koko hoisted Kanako to his feet, he was about the size of him now, if not bigger, and she was worried that soon he would be bigger. She was tryign to teach the little Tatsu how to walk on all fours as opposed to the crawling motion he usually dide. SHe steddied him, and let go.

For a few moments, kanako stood there. His eyes and ears were still closed, but his constent crawling and playing had built up his leg mucles a bit. He whined, not aware of what he was supost to do when he was like this. He picked up a paw, and soon found himself laying on the ground, his legs spread out.

An older female Tatsu noticed the young one trying to learn to walk, under the patient care of a Kane. She walked over.

"Come here little one," she coaxed. "You're doing well so far."

Petra cooed softly. Alright, so she'd given in- but it was just once! It wasn't like she'd gone all soft and gooey on her exterior and started handing out flowers and jars of love to everyone! She'd just made one friend. A single, solitary, numero uno friend. And that was Isa- her cheerful, affectionate, busy-bodied little Sentinel. The black and silver creature fluttered happily around Petra's curled up, half asleep body, her tiny wings effortlessly letting her hover around the area.

Petra, clearly displeased with Isa's happy flutterings, grunted softly, burying her velvety black muzzle into her forepaws with agitation. She hadn't noticed if there were any other Tatsu around- otherwise surely she would've been a tad bit more quieter. Silly girl.

Koko smiled at the older tatsu coming over, glad to have some more company "He is trying his best... he just gets his legs so tangled up when he tries to walk" She said with a giggle "I think i may be hurrying him to much...still just a pup.." she said ot herself, noticing the other pup cooking not far off with her sentinel.
"She is adorable!" commented koko, with a smile.

Kanako fora moment lay there, curious to why his mamiren wasn't fussing and petting him as she normally did. Then, to break the feeling, he made a whining noise, fussing and trying to crawl in the direction that he was sure his sentinel was.

Petra cooed lightly, her little tail thumping gently against her hindquarters. Just before she was about to let out a small squeak, her tiny nostrils quivered, and her entire body ceased movement. There were... others around. A small snarl curled at the edge of her muzzle, and Petra did her very best to scurry into what she hoped was a small, dark thicket in which she could blend in- and totally disappear.

Isa, who was quite disappointed with Petra's unsocial behavior, clicked her tongue cheerfully and fluttered above the desired bush, plopping down and blocking Petra's entrance. "Silly girl!" she chided playfully, well aware that Petra was deaf to her. "How about you make some friends, little one?" the Sentinel suggested lovingly, poking Petra's nose playfully.

The dragonette female moved closer to the pup who had been struggling so hard, and nuzzled him gently. "You're doing fine little one." Then she turned. She was SURE that she'd heard something in the distance....the sound of something skuffling under some bushes...

Koko watched the other tatsu scurry away. "She seems a little shy" said koko to Isa. Maybe not shy, but more unwilling to meet other people.

Kanako felt a nuzzle. He cooed, and licked the object that was touching him. He, unlike Petra, loved attention. He got lonely in his dark, silent world, and always welcomed a bit of comfort.

Being licked brought out a maternal gush of love for the little blind baby. She turned to his sentinal. "How old is he? He's so adorable, and seems to have a great personality developing already."
Then she turned, still listening for the reply, but also checking out where the other little one must be hidden. She wondered how old it was, and why it didn't seem to want to make friends.

Trotting over a hill, Tera and Dac were talking excitedly. They'd heard there was a clutch of eggs around here somewhere, and that the situation was right for them to hatch! Tera hadn't seen a hatching before, and Dac had only seen Tera's...and she was a lonely egg that had apparently moved away from the rest of all the others.

Then, they saw them! Several cute little pups, and another dragonet and a Kane. "Hello!" Tera called over to the pink and white duo.

Sakura almost lept up to greet the newcomers but she jolted to stop herself. "I'm sorry about that," she whispered to the pup. She placed her paw on the little pup's head.

Hana jumped over and waved to Tera, "Hello! I'm Hana and this is Sakura," she pointed over to Sakura. Hana was suprised Sakura didn't jump up to greet them. "Have you come to see the new pups too?"

Ump! Now there was something on top of his head! Oh well. He snuggled in a little closer, and could feel the heartbeat of the larger creature.

The Mamiren was the first to answer of the approaching chocolatly colored pair, but not by much. "Greetings, I'm Dac, and this is Tera."

Right on top of him Tera said, "Oh yes! We did! I've never seen a hatching, or met a pup. I'm Tera, by the way." Altogether it was a pretty hard to understand mishmash, but hopefully Hana had gotten the idea. Tera moved closer to the pups...there were several, of various colors. "Looks like you've made a friend there!" she said, seeing the little red one burried under Sakura's paw.

"I think I did too! Isn't he adorable?" her voice got much louder and she giggled. "Oh, hi! I'm Sakura, nice to meet you!" Oops! There I go getting all loud again.. Sakura whispered, "We have to be quiet around them, I think he finds me irritating."

Hana tilted her head, she had to think of what they had just said but she understood. "Hello Dac," she extended her hand to shake. She was very formal when meeting new people, "There's a lot of pups around now. They're all so small and quiet. For some reason, they make me worry." Hana had thought of Sakura as a pup and shivered, "So reckless," she shook her head.

It seemed like there were others around now...more vibrations, more smells. And it almost seemed as though he could understand something...almost....He decided to THINK really hard, and see if someone could get him from that, because saying things wasn't really working out at the moment. Hello? he thought.

"He IS adorable! They all are! Nice to meet you, Sakura! Ohh, and one hasn't hatched yet. Part of me wants to wait here until it does! It's already cracked, so it's gotta be soon, doesn't it?" She moved over and nudged one, then noticed as the small red one wiggled a bit, and lifted it's head just a touch. "Ohh! Your little friend is moving around now!"

Dac's ears perked up a bit, and he glanced at Hana to see if the other sentinel had heard the same thing he thought he had. Carefully, he hopped down, and went over to go look at the little red pup, swishing his tail carefully as he did. "Did you say something?" he both thought and said at the same time. He'd been able to communicate with Tera from the time she'd just hatched....and he thought he could hear what this one was trying to communicate....but it was not terribly clear...almost static....

Sakura moved her paw off of the little pup, "I think he wanted me to get off of head! Sorry, little one!" She stood up and went over by Tera.

Hana jumped after Dac, "What's this little one trying to say?" She moved her face really close to the pup's, "Come on, you can do it. Well, maybe you can't! You were just born, but hmm.." She silenced and looked at the little pup then at Dac, "It would be shocking if he spoke today."

It seemed like he almost understood something..."did...say...thing..." And then the larger warm body moved away, and he thought he understood something like "do it....can't...born." None of this made much sense, but it seemed like he'd gotten something's attention. And now that the larger one wasn't as close, his sense of smell was able to do more....he could smell something else familiar...and some things that smelled kinda familiar, but not as much. And then lots of blurry smells, that he wasn't sure about. He tried again. Hello? Who are you?

Yes, he had definatly heard SOMETHING that time. "Hello little one. I can not understand everything you say, but I can tell that you are trying, and that is good." He tried to make his thoughts gentle, clear, and simple. He turned to Hana. "I think he said 'Hello', and something about 'who'...maybe who we are? I'm really not sure. I can't understand him like I could Tera.

Tera, for her part, was fascinated. This little thing...which now seemed to be wiggling a bit towards her and Sakura, was so helpless, so sweet, so soft, and so SMALL! And it didn't seem to have someone like Dac or Hana to help it...how would it make it's way? Dac had taught her so much in life. If it couldn't even communicate...how would it find food?

"So...where exactly were we going again Tera?" the Mamiren asked, starting to get the slightest bit annoyed with his tatsu. He loved her to death, but she could be quite a trial sometimes.

"Oh, I don't know. Doesn't a walk sound nice to you? A walk sounded lovely to me. Besides, it's a beautiful day! Spring has sprung, the grass has ris...I wonder where the birdies is?" She giggled at her own rhyme. "Anyway, I was thirsty. Wanna go get something to drink down by the lake? I'd like to splash around the water some!"

A rush of vibration brought Trellos out of his sleep. Even as a pup he'd seemed to be more noticing of such things than many of the others. Someone was coming, and he figured he should go out and meet them. It had been days since he'd seen anyone, and so visiting might be a good idea.

Tera was off at a run now, with Dac trying to hold on between her shoulder blades. It was not a common stiling for Tatsu and their sentinels, but her energy didn't really allow him to keep up otherwise. She romped and jumped and almost tripped a few times, and then suddently stopped short and went back a few yards--this time at a walk.

The first thing Dac noticed was that the bumpy ride had stopped. Then, as he hopped down, he noticed the look on Tera's face. Oh no, he thought, what now? But instead of his thoughts, he said "Why did we stop? We're not at the lake yet? What did you find?

It's not what, but who, silly. I think there's someone over here...someone red. But I ran by so fast I'm not sure.

A whirr of color rushed past, and the vibrations slowed. Then he heard people coming back, slower, talking. Ahh, he thought, someone saw me. I guess there's no backing out now.

He stepped forward into the path of the two, and examined what he saw.

Two chocolate colored creatures were approaching. One was a tatsu, and the other was something he didn't recognize. But they looked a matched pair. Cautiously he stepped forward. Somehow I don't think I could get away with nibbling on her ears... he thought to himself. That, as far as he had learned, was a proper greeting. But he wasn't sure in this situation. He would let her make the first move.

"So," Dac said, "Looks as if you were right. He looks shy though. Maybe I should go fir...."

Tera bound ahead of Dac, not really listening to what he was saying. Instead, she was looking at the somewhat younger red male with the nifty stripes. "Hey!" she bubbled. "I'm Tera and this is Dac and it's kinda funny like Pteradactyl, yano?"

After recieving a blank stare for a moment, she tried again, a little calmer. "What's your name?"

Sage was sleeping in a nearby bush before the others came close to him. Their voices and actions woke the youngling. His blazing green eyes slowly opened. His tail trashed in the dust. His claws burried themselves into the sand. His ivory fangs flashed brightly as he rose to his paws with a yawn. "You guys are loud," he grunted.

The red stood there for a moment, stunned. He had never heard so many words, so loudly, or so quickly eminate from one being at once. It took him a moment to regain his composure.

"Hi. I am Trellos. I don't have anything witty to say about my name." He paused for a moment, not knowing if his next statement would bring him ridicule. "What is Dac?" He looked curiously off towards the sentinel, who was looking at Tera in a fondly perturbed fashion.

While Tera was off babbling at the red, Dac was busy looking around. And listening, because one learned to do a lot of that around her. He was somewhat surprised to hear a "You guys are loud" coming from nearby. He turned towards the voice.

"I'm sorry. I've tried to get her to be less rambunsious, but I cannot manage. I'm Dac, she's Tera, and I believe Tera recently pried out that the red fellow's name is Trellos. What is your...." He cut off abruptly as he heard Trellos' question. "Excuse me a moment," he said, heading that way.

"What is Dac? That's silly...Dac's a..."

"Mind if I take this one?" he asked, hoping it would quiet Tera. "I'm a Mamiren, a sentinel that helps take care of young Tatsu. I found Tera when she was a pup, and I've been her friend since." There, that made a lot more sense than anything she would have said.

Sage shook his head becoming more confused by the minute. "Sage." That was all the reply he would give. He shook the rest of the sleep from his scales and walked from the brush. His feathered tail swished gently behind him.

Oh no, now there were THREE people to deal with! He had a hard enough time not tripping overhimself with one. And apparently he should not have asked that last question. Well, this newest one, Sage, seemed the calmest of the bunch, so Trellos addressed himself that way.

"Hello Sage. I didn't know you were so nearby." Then he figured he ought to be cival to everyone. "It is good to meet you all. I am a bit new at this making friends thing, I have not had many." Somehow he didn't think ear biting was appropriate for Sage either.

"Hi Sage! I like your name. It matches your color. Or is it your flavor? Or smell? Do you smell like sage? Let me smell!" Tera started to move forward towards the young male, but felt a hand on her shoulder.

"Please excuse Tera, she's always been excitable, and as it's coming to be spring and a beautiful day, she's a bit bubbly right now. After she gets over the new-ness, she'll calm down some. We were just walking to the lake to wade around in the water a bit. Would you like to join us?" He made sure by looking at them both that his invitation was extended to each young male.

Morning dew rolled down the egg as it layed still. There was nothing and nobody around. The silence of the morning made it seem like time was still. What broke the silence was the sound of tiny cracking. The egg trembled as the creature inside fought its way out. Cracks spread their way across the egg, moving quickly. After what seemed to be hours, the egg burst and a tiny creature fell out onto the ground.

"Ohh! I think I heard a noise! I think I heard cracking. Is there an egg somewhere around?" the bubbly dragonette rand around looking for the source of the noise she thougt she'd heard.

"Calmo DOWN!" yelled an exasperated Dac, trying to keep up. "If it is an egg, you'll step on it before you actually find it." he continued, trying to be more calm.

"Oh! You're right! I'd better be more careful" Tera said, trying to calm herself, but still quivering with excitement. "Here little eggy eggy eggy..."

Estrella squirmed as she found herself out of the warmth of the egg. The grass was rough beneath her and she layed there, unable to see or hear anything around her. The smell of grass filled her lungs. She shivered in the morning air and curled up a bit.

"SQUEEEEE!"

The high pitched shriek from the dragonette brought Dac running despite his warning. He never could tell if it was pain, fear, or excitement. Upon approaching, however, he saw it was the latter. "What, or who, did you find?"

"Shhh! Don't talk so loud. We don't want to scare it! Look at the pretty little baby! She reminds me of the sky!"

Shh indeed! Dac thought, considering the squeel that she'd let out moments before chastising him. "You know, young ones like that can't hear yet. Nor can they see."

"But they can feel, can't they? I don't remember being a pup...how lonely it must have been! Oh, wait...nevermind, I had you! hehee."

Tera carefully moved over towards the little one. "I wonder if it has a sentinel that will find it..." She nuzzled softly against it.

Estrella felt the grass shift around her. A new scent entered her nose, but she couldn't tell what it was. A tiny squeak escaped her mouth. When Tera nuzzled her, she reached up to grab Tera's face so she smell this new thing.

This time, Tera was able to keep the excitement to herself. Ohhh! She touched me she likes me she wantstobemyfriend! was what ran through her head. However, she just smiled at Dac, and licked the little one's head instead.

Estrella let go of Tera and layed still. Something was touching the top of her head. She layed still. The scent of the creature that had first touch her was still near.

"Awww" Tera whispered, drawing back a bit. I guess she doesn't like being licked. She pulled away."

"Maybe it's wet and she's not used to it, she seemed to like the snuggling."

"Good idea."

Tera snuggled up to the little one, and before she knew it, had fallen asleep.

Estrella felt the grass shift and something lay next to her. She felt the warmth of Tera's body and snuggled closer to her, enjoying the warmth. Soon, he chest gently raised and fell as she drifted to sleep.
