May 29, 2006

Kekipi just happened to be wandering the forest. He was a newbie to the... entire place, lake and forest alike. Alllll the way from the beaches. Hitching a ride in a soggy black backpack with him was I`a, his sentinel. Fortunately.. or misfortunately, he's stumbled across these here eggs!

"Woah dude. Huhuh, I`a lookit that." He grins, head jerking to use his snout to point the kiddo out to the clownfish sentinel.

The little guy popped his head up and put little paws on Keki's shoulder, "Ooooohpretty... is gold," I`a mused, staring at the remains of the golden egg, and the child that'd hatched.

The small tatsu that had just made it's way out of the egg figited a little. It had no energy left after the long process of freeing itself from its egg. The little creature slowly curled up in a ball, shivering slightly. It relized it had just released itself from it's warm egg, and its fur was still wet. The tatsu was barely aware of the presence around it, right now it was being bombarded with all things new. the ground, the smell, it was all new to him.

Kekipi, not meaning to overwhelm the kiddo, neared the little child. "It's kinda' cute, yannow?" Rear end lowered and he took a seat in front of the pup, examining from the short distance. "Dude it's a boy! I shall call him Mini-Keki!" Ok so that wasn't really going to be the pup's name.

I`a shook his head and sighed, "You're a sad story, dude." His voice was quiet, softspoken, and childish. Thus is the vocal chords of an aqua sentinel! Half his body was still in the soggy pack on Keki's back.

During that time another egg not too far off was hatching, and sitting rather noble and patiently before the egg was a strange creature, a large sort of cricket. The forest sentinel! This one must belong to this egg, their spirits bonded at a young egg? The cricket watched the hatching, little antennae swaying and twitching. When Kiyu finally made way from her egg, panting and huffing, the cricket's antennae perked forward. It knew it couldn't greet HER vocally, so instead did so to the nearby adult.

"They are hatching, foreigner. You are welcome to watch but please help out and keep them together."

The boy closed his eyes tighter, and squirmed a bit. He heard nothing of the strangers around him. Making a pained whineying sound, he made an attempt to move. He didn't like the cold, hard ground, but wasn't aware it was all around him. His legs were as good as useless, limp with almost no mucle or control, and he only successfully slithered a few inches, before being overcome with exahstion again, and resting his head on the ground.

Kekipi's winglike ears gave a little flicker, looking at the other sentinel. "And who're you little dudette?" His nose twitches side to side, but for the kids' sake he lifts the golden one up carefully in one arm and then rises to do the same to the female.

I`a was still on Keki's shoulder, just watching. One little black paw lifts, waving at the other sentinel. His orange, clonfish colored fur was still oily slick and wet from his water life. He'd always have a shiny coat even when dry, but hey... they DID just pass a lake, maybe he went swimming!

Kiyu shivered, still in the cracked and chipped remains of her egg, too tuckered out to move anywhere! The sentinel gave a little hop, landing the aim precisely next to the child's head. "She reminds me of the kiyu flowers here," she'd told herself to the foreigners. "Their eggs were unattended, stranger. So forest creatures had moved some of them about. Please follow me to the nest? That is where they were supposed to be, but alas I cannot move them myself.. just guard them."

The cricket started hopping off toward the nest, which wasn't too far actually, just beyond a few trees. "Oh, and my name is Kurai." She expected Keki to follow, and follow he did... after picking up the other child with just as much caution.

The boy felt an odd, unfarmiliar sensation as the aquatic tatsu picked him up. He chirped, squirming a bit to show his discomfort. Everything was so new, it was weird....he yawned, calmed suddenly by the forawrd motion of the tatsu walking, and momentarily drifted off to sleep

Kekipi wasn't aquatic. He was a far cry from it. But he'd SEEN some of them. He was a normal Tatsu, but he'd come from a beach tribe. Not that anyone knew that. He was walking slowly, trying to be careful. "Muh name's not stranger, little dudette. It's Kekipi. Or Keki if you prefer, and the little brat on my shoulder hogging packspace is I`a. Ah, uh, dudette. Um, Kurai? What's a kiyu?"

Speaking of I`a, he was lookin' all around, his bobbed antennae twitching and bouncing. He was like a cute little kitten. Sometimes he'd lose his footing on Keki's shoulder but would catch himself. I`a was keeping to himself rather well, for now.

Kurai hopped on, until she was in the clearing of the nesting area. Scattered along the softened earth were silk petals of the kiyu flowers, leaves, and grass from the bigger clearing. A hop to turn around, lifting up an 'arm' to direct the newcomer to place the pups down. And that he did, cautiously, right next to each other. Then he stood, arms crossed, rather proud of himself. "They are the local flowers here, it is said that Na`ni nurtured them, but no one is for certain but her. You'll be lucky to find that little sylph, Kekipi."

The little baby tatsu woke up as he was placed in a bad of soft flowers. He snuggled up in them, his mouth opening for the first time in a wide yawn, followed by a wringle of the nose as he tasted the air for the first time. Chirping, he curled up, and relaxed.

Kekipi nodded in understanding. "Ahh, okay." He lift a petal off the ground. "Are they all like, dead or something?" He turned his head a little bit to I`a, but still his gaze was on the flower, "Looks like a tornado came through here, dude."

I`a giggled boyishly and shook his head. "Once again you're a sad story, Keki my man. The lil' cricket over there just said they're the local flowers. Probably means they're all over the place."

The little white pup felt a familiar presense, so wiggled her way to it. Her fellow hatchling! The little child curled up next to him and squeaked out a little greeting, before settling her chin on his back. She was unmoving, save for her soft breathing. The nest was warm, since the leaves, flowers, and grass providing flooring from cold dirt. The white of the silken flower petals reflected the sun of the small clearing. No more shivering, yay!

Kurai hopped beside the pups, chirping faintly. "There is a spring not but a few yards or more beyond the trees. If you peek through the trees you can see it. It was where the elders spent their last days, or so my mother told me."

The boy [who's name will be dubbed when Koko finds him ^_^] made a chirp of happiness when another hatchling snuggled with him. He appriciated the warmth and company. He yawned again, and stuck his paw in his mouth to suck on, drifting off into another sleep. This was perhaps the first time he had felt safe since he was seperated from the egg.

Kekipi watched the little group, tilting his head. "So like, where's their moms or dads?"

Little sentinel had finally wriggled his way from the soggy pack and lept onto the ground. Shortly after, Keki removed it and put it on the ground. It was empty for now, his adventure here had emptied the pack out. I`a padded on his little paws towards the pups, head lowering to sniff at the pups. "Yeah dude," he lift his head up and looked at Kekipi, "they are pretty cute."

The pup moved a bit when the other one chirped, giving another chirp in reply. She lift up a paw and draped it over the boy's back. She was half asleep and half awake, just relaxing within the safety of her guardian and the pup. Yes, she knew her guardian was there, but not what she looked like!

Kurai made sure to stay near the pups, eyeing I`a cautiously. "The white one's parents were the elders that passed away not long ago. They were guarding the other last five eggs of adults that have left the tribe or parted from this world. This is the last of this tribe in the forest. I have seen a few strange looking Tatsu that look to be from some body of water, but they've not noticed the pups."

From the back of the group, a little purple and white aqutic sentinel, looking a bit flustered "Kanako!" she squeeled happily "Your ok!" she looked around at the others, then set his eyes on Kekipi. "Did you move this tatsu?!?! Every day i check up on this egg! Then, I leave to get some food and such for it when it comes out of its egg when i see it is getting ready to hatch, then i come back, and its GONE!" she ploped down on the ground "Leave it to me to have this happen...but....Kanako is safe now..." She finished, looking relived

Kanako sensed a comotion around him, and was awoken by the vibrations of Koko charging in. The way the pattern of movement, it felt farmiliar. He suddenly felt a burst of comforta and gratitude, now he was safe, comfortable, amongst one of his age, and amongst something farmiliar.

Kekipi and I`a both laughed, cheerfully mind you, at the new sentinel. "Hey dudette. Um no I moved the eggs BACK over here." Keki rubbed the back of his neck, arching a brow. Claws brush through his mane for a moment, then his arms cross over his chest. "I just got here, and was helping this cricket gal to get these two eggs back over here." He looked beyond the little crowd at the nest. It was a large nest capable of holding a whole tribe of Tatsu, as long as they curl up together. In the mess of nest bedding he spotted some more pups sleeping, but figured they were okay for now.

I`a trot up to the new sentinel, grinning, "Hey sweet-stuff what's your name?" He wasn't -trying- to be flirty, but it was just his personality to the babes! Kekipi laughed at I`a, who took a seat in front of the girly aquatic sentinel and started boasting. "Yep, I helped that big lug behind me carry these Tatsu pups back. Mmmhm."

Kurai was in her own world as the others. Actually... Kekipi was in his own world too, but Kurai was in her pup's world. No telling what she was thinking - that proud and noble looking cricket.

Koko blinked, and laughed "Sweet? Hardley. My name is Koko" she laughed a bit harder at his comment of helping the full grown tatsu "Realy? Make sure he didn't trip over roots or something?" She giggle more, teasing him. "So, you are the older one's Sentinels?" She walked over to kanako, and stroked his fur, very happy to see the egg she had been raising was finally a pup.

Kanako yawed, making a little chirp of pleasure as the sentinel petted him

Kekipi, still in his own world, picked his bag up and casually slipped off to find the spring. He was interested in it, and I`a was doing his own thing! He knew his fishy little sentinel would find him, that's what all sentinel are best at. Maybe he'll find something useful, bwuahaha.

I`a HAD his chest puffed out, looking all big and tough. But he just.. deflated, at the tripping over roots comment. "Hey! That's so totally a diss, dudette." He chuckles and lowers back onto all fours, trotting up to Kurai and the pup. "You're a quiet guardian." He sounded shockingly serious and sober. Worried? Maybe.

Kurai turned her head and stared at the brightly colored boy sentinel. "What is there to say? Nothing really." But not long after that, Keki came back with a white flower held in both paws as if he were carrying a delicate piece of glass. "Oh, you brought a kiyu flower?"

Koko giggled "Chill out, i was just joking around. I am sure you were very helpful" she replyed, her second sentance with a hint of sarcasm. She looked over at Kurai, she was very quiet. Maybe crickets were just like that? She turned her attention to kekipi again "Aw, its very pretty!" she exclaimed.

Kanako slowly driffed off to sleep.

Kekipi tilts his head at Kurai's responce, "Oh, so this is a kiyu flower? I see." He bent and handed the flower to I`a, who's arms were up wanting to see it.

I`a gave a timid chuckle, "Eh heh..." He took the flower once Keki handed it over, then looked between it and the white pup. "Hm..." Then... he placed it over her ear. "She's got Sssstyyyyle!"

Usually crickets are quite the talkative little chirpers! Well, not Kurai. Until now that is. She'd watched I`a place the flower, then she smiled a bit. "That is perfect, actually..." A few steps toward the pup, "I will call her Kiyu then... her mother would have been proud to name her this..." Kurai's head tilt, antennae swaying a bit. "Kiyu..."

"Its so cute on her!" she said with a smile "And that is a very pretty name. I already had names thought up...Kanaka if it was a girl, Kanako if it was a boy, and it was a boy" she smiled happily, feeling almost like a mother to the child

Kekipi smirked, head shaking, "Ok dudes you all have fun. I'm gonna like, prowl. Stay here with the pups will ya I`a?"

I`a growled a bit, and chased after. "Nuh uh, Keki. I'm goin' with you. Remember once I let you wander off alone?" Keki made the 'shh' gesture with a claw, "That's what I THOUGHT, dude." Keki rolled his eyes and lowered his pack, letting I`a climb in and get comfy. With that, the two were off to explore.

Kiyu gave a little whine in her sleep, back feet kicking a bit and a front paw twitching. Kurai chirped at the pup, and amazingly enough the pup calmed again. But, Kiyu rolled over, her muzzle taken off Kanako's back. She splay out on the soft nest bedding and drift back to sleep, still right next to the boy. Kurai looked over at Koko and smiled. "I find it funny how most of our names start with K." That notice brought up a little chuckle. Unlike aquatic sentinels, this cricket has a deeper, motherly woman voice.

Koko giggled "yea..." she found it cute how calming hte cricket was to the baby "They are so adorable like this" she said softly, Sitting down and resting her head on her hand. "I can't wait to see them grow up more, see how their personality unfolds.."

Kanako whined as the girl next to him moved away, but wasn't horribly distressed, since he was getting a bit hot anyway. He streched out to his full length as well, rubbing his head in the soft flowers a bit.

Kurai nodded, sort of 'sitting' there, front legs both on the ground. "Just wait until they're dragonets. Mother told me they're just plain horrible! I suppose it depends on the Tatsu, ne?" She looked from Koko, back to Kiyu, "I wonder how this one will be. It's harder for my kin to guard pups and dragonets than it is for your kin, since we're not as... nimble, you know? My kin are basically like their speaking concious." Light chuckle and smirk.

Kiyu began moving again... seems the child is restless suddenly! With her newfound burst of energy, she sat her head up, though she's quite wobbly. Her activity? A cute, puppylike growl, leading into a cublike 'rawr.' Her little tail wiggled back and forth, stretching front paws ahead of her to paw at a petal. She bent and bit at it, picked it up, then stumbled and wiggled to drop the petal on Kanako's head.

After that she settled again, huffing tiredly, then relaxed. Kurai just snickered. "She's going to be a handful, I can see it now."

Koko smiled "Yea... but i think i am ready for it. I've always wanted to be the guardian of a tatsu. I used to come to teh nest every day, looking at the eggs of the old ones wondering if any of them were the one i am bonded too. Then i came across the golden egg, and i knew it was mine!" She smiled, looking warmly torwards Kanako.

Kanako stired as he felt the flower fall on his head. He attempted to get up, but only managed to crawl a bit. He still was exhausted from his great escape from the egg, but he would probubly have a bit more energy tomorrow.

Kurai smiled. Yes, she can smile happily! "Sometimes you just know who it is, sometimes you have to look hard. I was around after Kiyu's parents passed away, and my mother passed with her. When Tatsu leave this world, we must go with them, because of our bond." The seemingly wise sentinel looks up at the open sky of the nest clearing, taking in the sight of the evening. "I knew Kiyu was mine because my mother was bonded to her mother."

Kurai's attention was drawn down again to Kiyu, who was gumming on Kanako's ear happily. This was her pup idea of play! And it was fun! Tail wiggles side to side, tiny wings moving just a little bit. Even though Kanako was tired, Kiyu was really quite the trooper! "Yeah... Kiyu is going to be a wild one. Hooboy!" Kurai giggles, then eyes Koko with a cheerful smile, like to mums watchin' their babies. Unde the circumstances of missing parents... they pretty much -are- their parents!

Koko looked fondly at them all "I barely remember my mother. I guess she must have been with one of the elders, because she died when I was realy young" she said sadly "Poor little ones. They don't have any parents" Koko giggled "Think, we will be the parent figures, but they will be much bigger then us before we even know it.." she grinned, knowing that one day Kanako would be the same size as keki

Kanako made a chirping noise, rolling over onto his belly, causing kiyu to tumble down. He put his paws onto her head, and turned the tables by gumming on her ear! He made a sound tha sounded faintly like a giggle, and pawed blindly at her face, too.

Kurai nodded sagely at speak of elders. "May they rest in peace. My mother's Tatsu and the mate were the two last elders of the forest. We just couldn't spread out enough I guess. So we need to just keep trying."

Kiyu let out another one of those growly roars that were so obviously young and painfully cute. The flower had fallen from her ear, blending with the mess of petals, leaves, and grass. She'll get another flower soon enough, though! Kiyu bat her paws at Kanako's chest and squeaked happily. Those playful growls were frequent as she paws at the other just as blindly.

"They grow fast, you know. And just make sure yours doesn't stuff you in a pack like that Kekipi fellow does to his guardian." She was exadurating really, since I`a acutally loved to be toted in the pack!

Koko nodded solumly in honer of the elders. "But, there is still a lot of hope. I mean, look at these two, and the other eggs. I bet there are more around, too! I think there is hope for these guys yet..." she said optomisticly, watching the two play "God, could they be any more adorable?" She asked happily

Kanako gave a play growl back, meeting at her paw as the batted. He leaned forward, biting with a toothless mouth onto her furry paw, and sucked on it.

Kurai watched the pupfight and snickered. "Honestly I have not wandered the forest much. I've been at Kiyu's side all this time. Perhaps when she is older we shall look around. I'm only aware of one nest. But there must be more, since I have seen several watery looking Tatsu of all ages passing through to the springs."

Kiyu made a kind of 'ewwing' squeaky growly noise at the boy, tugging her paw back in her direction. She's not edible! Free paw pushes softly on his cheek while taking her paw back, then she rolls onto her side and bats at the air, with more little growls.

"Same here...and i am sure you are right. It may seem like there arn't many tatsu around...but I think they are all just eggs and babies, and once they are older, the world will flourish again" she said, happily.

Kamako whined as his chew thing was pulled away, rolling over. There were a few flowers on his belly, so he batted them up in the air. One landed on his nose. He sneezed, and giggled more.

It almost seemed as though she'd come from nowhere. Perhaps she'd been there the whole time?... In either case, the dark colored pup seemed to be making a point to say out of sight and out of mind. The little creature had nestled herself beside a lush shrub that was sprouting beautiful pink flowers. While she herself- black and copper, didn't quite fit in, the darkness from the shade the bush produced gave her both cool and protection.

Petra cooed softly to herself, satisfied with her little scheme to remain unnoticed. If all went well, the blind, deaf creature would be relaxing lesuirley in no time- undisturbed and calm. Her little body quivered occasionally, adjusting to the cooler temperature underneath the shade, but all in all, the baby was content. What a lovely world this was... When she wasn't being bothered, that is.

Kiyu still pawed blindly at the air, until she was able to roll over and nestle into the silky petals again. The moon was starting to rise with the sun setting, and soon the kiyu flowers would be putting on a spectacular little show. "I do hope so, it would be nice to see many Tatsu frolicing about by the springs." She looked up at the sky and smiled, "Moon will be greeting the flowers soon. Know what that means?" Sly look over at Koko.

Meanwhile, Keki was wandering around! I`a was out of the soggy black pack, and instead there were a bunch of different flowers inside of it! Keki had a mischeivous little smile on his maw while walking through the forest, and stopped to pick some pink flowers from some more shrubery to stuff away in his bag.

I`a looked at the bush and grass, noticing the copper coloring of something. He liked shinies. He walked toward it, then gasped and ran back to Keki, tugging at a tailfeather. "KEKI! DUDE. There's a pup! Like, one not in the nest!"

"I know there's pups, I`a, we watched 'em hatch earli - oh!" He shoved the rest of the flowers he'd picked in the bag and scooped up the pup carefully and hauled her to the nest. "Musta' wandered too far, ey dude?" I`a nodded. Neither of them knew the pup WANTED solitude! Poor Petra.

Kekipi came wandering in the area, Kiyu in his arms like a baby. He pretty much dubbed himself the pup's father, even though he was a far cry from a fatherly figure. "Hey dude, more pups!" His tail excitedly whipped the air back and forth, giddily moving an arm quickly to point at the pups. Then used both arms to hold the pup again. If the two Mamirens were wondering how big a Tatsu would get, they'd see now! While they were about a foot tall or so, he was a tad over 3 feet.

I`a was, as usual, halfway in the small black backpack, his little paws on Keki's shoulder. He was proud to see Keki maturing. Then he went and acted all childish with new pup notice!

Kiyu was asleep in Kekipi's arm, front paws over her chest cutely. There was a new flower in her hair. Her ears were properly working, but that was all. She made a little baby growly roar of sorts, a little hello to the pups.

Koko smiled "Well...even if she is unsocial, it isn't to bad of a think. She will always have you" she said. Giggling as Petra ran into her. "Oh...hehe.. don't worry." She risked reaching down and patted petra quickly, afraid the Tatsu might be angry wit her for that.

Kanako made a whimpering noise as he sensed some comotion around him. He nipped at his sentinal, as if to say 'who cares what else is going on. Pay attention to me!

Isa smiled with a light giggle as she watched Koko cautiously pat Petra. "Smart of you," she commented playfully, watching as Petra's tiny jaw opened and snapped closed warningly. What a curious little thing.

Noticing Kanako's protest at lack of attention, Isa grinned and fluttered off of the distressed Petra's back, only to land softly beside Kanako. "Hello little fellow!" she chirped happily, her tiny hand landing gently on Kanako's head.

It seemed as though neither Isa nor Petra noticed the arrival of three new creatures!

Keki, aware he was unnoticed, steps closer to the little group. "Duuudes, hello. Righteous evening, yah?" He set Kiyu down.

I`a recognized Koko and gave her an idle wave, not forgetting the diss he'd recieved! Clowfish colored Mamiren refused to move out of the pack. He was in his favorite perch, after all. "Hello fellow Mamiren, I'm I`a and this is Kekipi and that little dudette there is Kiyu."

Kiyu fussed in Keki's arms until the adult finally put her down. When that happened, Kiyu waddled over to the pups and squeaked. That sort of 'I demand attention' squeak!

Isa was not in a good mood. She'd been very patient with Petra for the past few days, but enough was enough! The little fluttering creature finally let out a heaving whine before she collapsed on the ground, her lanky arms resting in her lap.
"Fine, Petra!" her high voice chided unhappily. "You win! Stay in there, for all I care! I don't- as a matter of fact, I don't care!" she preached to the partially deaf pup... Though if Isa's predictions were correct, Petra was slowly becoming more and more aware of her surroundings- and that included accelerating hearing.
The sentinel huffed sadly, pulling her tiny body up onto a leaf beside a small, barely noticeable burrow-type hole in the dirt beneath a bush.

Jammed inside, quite comfortable, was the petite, scrawny body of a newborn Tatsu. Petra's velvety black muzzle was pressed against the soft earth lightly, and every time she made a soft noise- even if it was just a delicate peep- it was muffled entirely by the dirt. She was content, and that was all that mattered! Petra, at the moment, couldn't quite care at all if Isa was unhappy with her hiding, digging, and burrowing habits. If it kept Petra away from everyone else, then Petra was happy!

Kekipi was babysitting Kiyu as always. He was watching her grow and he had to admit it was pretty awesome. But today, he wasn't carrying Kiyu. The pup was getting older by the day! Kiyu slowly followed after as Kekipi spotted Isa and Petra. "Dude, a pup!" He couldn't remember if he'd met this one before. Lately there were pups fallin' out of the sky! Tubular. Keki walked up to the two and poked the spot of dirt where Petra was.

I`a was perched on the same spot as always, tail shuffling around inside the black backpack on Keki's back. "Yeah man, there seems to be a lot of pups lately. Good to see the population rising." I`a looked behind him, curious and careful eye watching Kiyu. He smiled and turned forward again.

Kiyu was pretty much minding her own business, beboppin' along on all fours, sometimes stumbling. Her eyes were open and ears hearing normally. Wings were a tiny bit bigger since birth, and she was more playful as days pass. Hopping aside her was Kurai, the same Kane in all her pride and glory, but she too was getting a little bigger with time.

Isa's initial response to the arrival of all these new creatures was simple: fear. What would they think if they saw what little visible area of Petra? It wasn't that she was crazy! Oh no, I do hope they don't think she's crazy... Of course not! Petra was just... antisocial? And that was being generous. There seemed to be something much deeper churning about in Petra's mind rather then the lack of wanting to socialize. What, exactly, made her so isolated, Isa still hadn't the slightest.

Realizing that these others were harmless, and that they would only want to introduce themselves, Isa relaxed visibly, slumping happily against the leaves of the bush. "Hello!" she called out to none of them in particular, but instead as a whole group. "I'm Isa!" was her friendly introduction, and the little creature smiled brilliantly- clearly pleased to be around someone else other then her grumpy pup.

Kekipi gave a thumbs up along with a "Yo!" He still stood on his hinds, not quite ready to sit down or anything. "I'm Kekipi, the pup here is Kiyu with her Kane, Kurai. And this -"

"I`a!" the Mamiren blurted, grinning cheesily. He tries tobe SUCH a charmer! He 'smoothed' his antennae back and wiggled his eyebrows, "What's up my fine dark friend?"

Kiyu stopped when she was next to Keki. She looked up at him saying her name, ears twitching. She still had the flower in her hair, often replaced with a new one. Her nose wrinkled, and she sneezed rather suddenly, the giggled, "K...eeeey... Keeey-yuuuu..."

Kurai gasped and hopped around front of Kiyu, "Oh my! Kiyu spoke!" Kiyu looked at Kurai, grinning widely, slowly repeating her name just the same as she did a moment ago. It shocked Keki too. I`a was busy charming the femmes as always.

Isa tried desperately to follow as Kekipi listed off the names of who was who- but truth be told, the little Mamiren found herself getting lost in all the k's. Smiling sheepishly, she nodded vaguely, extending a skinny little paw to the hole that Petra was busy burrowing in. It had almost seemed as if the pup sensed their presence and was now trying to hide further into the hole.

"That's Petra," Isa said with a defeated sigh, only to be brought back to attention by the fellow Mamiren, I`a. With a wry grin, Isa couldn't help but to let a small giggle fall out as the other sentinel introduced himself. Isa, of course, had the mentality of perhaps an eleven year old. Boys still had cooties at her age! "Oh, nothing!" she responded in a sing-song voice, her little wings letting her flutter onto a sturdy twig as she smiled happily, looking down towards Kiyu.

She listened intently at the Tatsu began to speak, and she too was impressed with the little girl's work. "Lovely!" she chirped happily, bringing her paws together to clap lightly.

Kekipi walked toward the hole, finally squatting into sitting position. He poked at the Tatsu's bum again and then crossed his arms, "She's a shy lil dudette ain't she?"

While Isa had the mind of an 11 year old, I`a was that of perhaps a 17 year old boy, since he's been around a little longer. But that didn't matter, he couldn't tell age after all, and was just a natural 'flirt!' "Oh yeah, I taught her how to say her name. Kiyu that is. Yup, it was me!" Arms cross over his chest which he'd puffed out. "She wouldn'ta' dunnit without my help." He jumped down off of Keki's pack and sat beside Kiyu, patting her on the head.

Kiyu ducked down and wagged her tail in the air, feminine and young growl at I`a. Before I`a could make another peep, he was pounced down on the ground by an excited pup, "Kee-yuu Kee-yuuu, KIIIIIYUUU." Madly estatic giggles burst into the air, pawing at the Mamiren.

Kurai just shook her head. "I was right when talking to Koko! This one will be a challenge."

(Dragonet from here on out.)

Kiyu was trompin' through the forest with a frustrated Kane hopping after. The hyper little girl was giggling her heart and soul out, until she finally reached the Spring! She came to a skidding stop, dirt flying a bit after her, claws dug into the dirt to help her stop. Panting, she exclaimed "BOY, Kuraaaaiiii! It shure is a looong walk from here to there!" She was of course referring to the run from the clearing to the Spring.

King was trailing behind her and the Kane, his ears dangling by his head as he follows at his own pace. The little dragonet was yawning; he still needed to wake up and that was becoming difficult and proving to be a hard task.

Eventually though he does get up to her, and not paying attention to what he's doing, he bumps right into her. Letting out an 'OOF' he grumbles, lifting a forepaw to rub at his nose and looking at her.

"What're we doing here?"

Kiyu was affected by the bump, flopping forward with a little cry of "Eep!" Kurai had hopped up into a kiyu tree, catching her breath. Surely the Kane will be able to guard the child just fine from there. Kiyu stumbled back onto her feet and trot to the waters edge for a drink of water. "I like tha' pretty Kois." She looked at King with water dripping down her chin, chuckling ever so childishly. After that she watched said fish in the crisp, crystalline water. Any moment now, she'd end up tackling King.... but... got to time it juuuuuust right...!

He gives a slow but steady nod, almost like a strong bobbing of his head, and he moves towards the water to look into it at the koi she speaks of.

"They are pretty," he answers, lifting a forepaw up again to scratch at his nose then dropping it to rub his snout against the upper part of his right foreleg.

"But did we really have to run here?"

She didn't give much of a reply, just eyed King with a grin, then BAM! Pounced! "You didn't haveta', but I wanted to!" Tail sways and whips at the air, small wings extended outward. There was a clearly proud look in her eyes, to have tackled the boy down. And even a defiant look of 'I dare you to counter THAT!'

King lets out a loud squeak as he's tackled, grunting aloud as he hits the ground. It takes a few moments for his head to clear, and he does it with a gentle shake from side to side. Wriggling his ears and if she moves off of him, he rolls to climb up onto his feet.

"Yeah. You did."

Kiyu simply refused to let the boy up. But she could tell he wanted up, thus fights his rolling. "Whatcha' mean?" Head tilts to the side like a curious puppy, until she at last rolls off of him and moves back to the water's edge. "Mister Grumpy-boy," she grumbles, while pawing curiously at the water's surface.

"C'mere widdle fishie fishie!"

Blinks, looking up at her, his ears turning forward.

"What do you mean? I was just saying you did want to go. That's all." He shrugs gently and has since given up trying to fight to get back up.

When she does release him he rolls to the side, climbs up and walks over to her. He peeks over, looking into the water with somewhat wider eyes.

"I wonder why they're so scared."

Kiyu snickers, pulling a soggy paw from the water. "I'unno." It was tempting for her to jump into the water and fish one out. Even her shoulders shook as if ready to pounce on in...

Then Kurai was suddenly there! What a sly grasshoppa'! "Were I you, child, I'd not hunt those Koi! What did I tell you about them!"

Kiyu eeps rather loudly, shocked. Instead of falling backwards, sitting up, or stopping dead in her tracks, she fell right into the water, pawing for the surface. She managed fine enough to get to the edge of the spring, claws dug into mud and grass, staring at Kurai like a cat who was tossed into water unwillingly. The flower had fallen out of her hair as well!

"Don't hunt the Koi. It's bad..." she whimpers, back paws wading her in the water. The spring is a sudden drop, then goes deeper and deeper, a nice place to swim if you're not scared of such scary depths.

He takes a few steps forward and puts a paw into the water, feeling the wet dirt mushing under his paw and in between his digits. He smiles, ears lifting up curiously and his tail starting to sway behind him. He blinks though, jerking away from the water as Kurai leaps up in front of them, eyes widening in surprise.

He squeaks loudly when she falls forward, sending a nice splash of water at him, and he crawls backwards, ears pinning back against his head, looking at the two of them.

Kiyu stares at King, her feathery ears drooped, whimpering. "Kurai is meeeean..." Thus she began her struggle out from the water, back legs kicking hard, claws out and digging at the rocky sides of the spring, until she was on the muddy part of the shore. It was beachlike sand around the spring, with that sloshy feel to it. She when was out, dripping wet, she sat at the edge again and stared down.

"Isn't it scarrryyy? What if there's a big monster down there?"

Kiyu perched at the edge of the waters of the Springs, staring down the crystalline clear water. It was her favorite thing to do! Sit by the water and watch the koi and the sun shine on the water, it looked so shiny. And the sound of the waterfalls were marvelous!

She was hunched down in pounce position - bum in the air, tail down but the end twitching to and fro every once in a while. Front paws under her her chin as cusion. Eyes were constantly moving, sparkling with the reflection of the water. This was the best time to catch her being calm and quiet. Kurai, her Kane, was on the Tatsu's bum, having a good enough view from her spot.

Kanako pouted. Stormy was nothing like he had hoped. Raising a pup was hard work (koko did most of it for him) and this was the reward he got! She was mean to him...she was angry all the time, and she NEVER wanted to play with him!

"You're no fun" he declared, bouncing up and down. He had alot of energy, and no one ever played with him...soo not fun

Stormy stared at kanako with her stoney eyes. He was so annoying, why couldn't he leave her alone!? All it ever was, lets do this, lets do that, lets play. Couldn't he take a hint? She made a hissing sound, and turned her back to him. "I never said I was any fun"

Feathery ears twitched like the flap of a hummingbird's wings. Fast, barely noticeable. She could hear someone nearby, two someone's actually, and she could smell them, but she paid no mind to them just yet, and kept watching her koi.

Then some of them darted away from her! She shot her head up at the two, huffing, "Quiet! You're scaring the koi away!"

Kanako looked up, there was another female tatsu here! "Oops....sorry. I didn't see you..." he said, walking over, ignoring Stormy's anger. Why couldn't she just me normal? "My name is Kanako, whats yours?" he asked, thinking to himself. Someting seemed faintly farmilar about this girl's smell. He had never seen her...and didn't recognize her voice, but still, her remembered her smell...

Stormy hissed louder. "Stop being such a push over Kanako!" she glared at the girl. "You can't make us be quiet. Say it nicer and maybe i will be" she said, whipping her tail back and fourth. She hated being bossed around, almost as much as she hated being annoyed....

Kanako gave stormy an angry look, which was rare for him, and turned back to the other female. "I'm sorry about stormy. She dosn't mean it...she just gets realy worked up sometimes over little things, even when she was a pup..."

"Shut UP! Of COURSE I mean it!" retaliated stormy, digging her claws into the ground. How dare he speak for her?! She wasn't a stupid pup anymore, she could speak for herself!

Kiyu was irritated as it was. Someone was scaring her friends away! "Ehh.. Kiyu." The Kane jumped off of the white Tatsu's back just in time for Kiyu to sit up and shoot a glare at Stormy. Her furs bristled and rose, a little growl in her throat. It might've been feminine and small, but still got the point across. She could tell Stormy was younger... but the stoney one packed quite the attitude. Typical!

Kiyu took slow steps toward Stormy, baring teeth. "Please," her tone was rather poisonous, "be quiet when I'm visiting with my koi friends." It was rare this girl was this upset, but when presented with a challenge, she'd defend herself!

Kurai watched, shocked, then looked up at Kanako. "She's never, ever done that before! ... you look familiar."

Kanako was very uncomfortable. He put his paw on Stormy's shoulder. "She didn't do anything to make you angry stormy...just drop it. She is older, and if you fought she would win. Plus, you havn't ever fought before, and its just not a good thing" he said, despretly not wanting anything bad to happen. Why couldn't stormy just be nice to everything? It wasn't hard...

"Thank you" said stormy, bearing her teath, and turning to give kanako her stormy glare. Big, stupid lug. Telling her what to do....but he did have a point. Stormy had a temper, but she wasn't stupid. She calmed herself down, letting herself become less tense. "That is all i wanted" she said, the edge not completely gone from her voice.

Koko had been out getting some berries, and had just arrived. The girls seemed angry, but stormy was calming down... she was such a grump! Koko looked at the dragonette, she seemed very, very farmilar, and then set her eyes on the kane. "Kurai!" she said happily. "Is this your little pup? Look how she has grown!"
