The meeting had gone well, honestly it had been better then well, but Nate still felt horrid. He had been able to focus and had even walked away with another project to add to his freelance portfolio but it didn’t erase the shame he felt weighing down on his shoulders. The whole interaction with the guardian had stayed with him, he had given a brief rundown on what happened when he passed Sarah to Dessie but the full story would have to wait until he got home.
For now, he made his way back to the park he had been in earlier. He had made a promise to come back and apologize properly. It was the only polite thing to do. The guardian had gotten between his toddler and the rabbits that were more than likely magical… especially after that damn incident with the sheep earlier. He definitely owed the cat something, maybe pizza or a burger, something that a cat wouldn’t typically be able to get, but at the very least he owed the feline an apology. And maybe an explanation. He had been pretty harsh with the guardian before he realized after all.
The young man kept an eye on the lengthening shadows. Looking both for the small bundle of gray fur, and more of those white rabbits. Or really anything that might lurk in the dim places of this city. It really did make a person paranoid after a while.
