the year is 1943, europe is being destroyed by both world war II (WW2) and the global wizarding war (GWW). families and friends were torn apart by differing allegiances while both muggles and wizards alike suffered casualties. with the allied nations finally advancing on the axis powers, england is now safer than the rest of europe.
with top-notch security and large facilities, hogwarts is one of the most secure wizarding schools in the continent, resulting in multiple requests by magical and muggle parents to send their children there. after much discussion between headmasters at durmstrang, beauxbatons and hogwarts it was decided that any staff or students enrolled in their sixth and seventh years interested in transferring until things ‘cooled down’ would be welcomed at the english school.

in order to properly introduce visiting students and staff to hogwarts, a party will be thrown in the clock tower courtyard. food will include finger sandwiches, tea, punch, cake, biscuits and champagne for professors. you must wear white and are expected to mingle with new students (and be on your best behavior, of course)

now's the time to pick up anything you may need before class starts on monday. buy the latest fashions at gladrags wizardwear, purchase sweets from honeydukes, or pick up some practical jokes at zonko's.

do anything with your characters! send them to the kitchens, have them swim in the lake, or go to class (for the first time!). quidditch tryouts are taking place in the afternoon and you can both watch or participate in them. this is also the last day to submit your name for the harmonium event!

groups consisting of six randomly chosen students will be selected as representatives for each school. they will then be paired amongst themselves and with representatives from the other two schools. the first event will be capture the flag.

do anything with your characters! there's a wizards chess club tournament in the great hall today if you want to watch or participate. full moon tonight.
HALLOWE'EN FEAST october 31 tab sunday tab five pm
the evening begins with a festive feast in the great hall, followed by performances by the frog choir and hogwarts ghost's. in the evening the great hall transforms and a costume party and contest takes place. many students consider it hogwarts' best feast.
LA TOUSSAINT (ALL SAINTS' DAY) november 1 tab monday tab seven pm
a day to respect those who have passed on many students light candles for those in their family who have died. french students will place chrysanthemums at portraits of ghosts. a solemn occasion, this is a time to reflect on the past, the future and the present.
BONFIRE NIGHT november 5 tab friday tab eight pm
an annual commemoration of guy fawkes, this british celebration involves a large bonfire as well as light shows and fireworks. most students watch from the courtyard but the best views are from the lake, the owlery or the astronomy tower.
FREE DAY #2 november 11 tab thursday tab nine am - midnight
do whatever you want with your characters! swim in the lake, study in the library, have detention! there is a quidditch match in the afternoon between slytherin and gryffindor.
HARMONIUM EVENT #2 november 17 tab wednesday tab noon
the previous groups will be participating in a "paintball" game with members of the faculty. each team will have their own paint color and the last team standing wins.
a celebration of a rare lunar eclipse that makes the full moon appear red. werewolves are especially susceptible to this type of moon, so have your wolfsbane potions prepared. don't worry about anyone recognizing you at this party, you'll all be in masks anyway.

FETE L'AMOUR
this "love ball" is a new addition to hogwarts, an event coming from its beauxbatons visitors. the hall is decorated with hearts and streamers of red, white and pink. there is an unofficial 'crowning' of the cutest couple.
