dominique anah boman dom seventeen female homosexual march second half-blood carmen
dark brown, shoulder length dark brown five feet, eight inches one hundred twenty eight slender toned build with light scattered scarring from her werewolf transformations and a bite mark on her right hip
long runs, steaks, being outside tight spaces, rumors, lying to not be sequestered due to her condition losing control, having nightmares replaying the night of her bite, containment
dominique was born to a muggle husband and witch wife. Her mother, originally from uganda, was a loving and supportive woman who employed herself out to simple shop work across different magical city hubs. her father ran a small grocer, where her parents had met and immediately hit it off. The early years of dom's childhood were rather enjoyable - they were a small happy family that just barely scraped by on occasion, but enjoyed the companionship of their loved ones over all else. she excelled in schoolwork, even as a youngster, and her parents dreamed of all the possibilities that would hopefully be open to her.
their little world was turned on it's head one eve as the family strolled through the city after a late dinner. an attack, one that replays over and over in dominique's nightmares, left her father mangled and unable to recover. he passed from his injuries quickly, and while the young girl and her mother were able to escape, dom was left with a bite mark on her hip that would rock her families foundation. the authorities never identified their attacker, and the young girl was forced to register her new condition of lycanthropy with the ministry.
her mother, bless her, worked herself to the bone after the attack, even grief stricken, to ensure her daughter had the potions she needed to wade through her transformations as easily as possible. dominique was often alone after, and the happy family she once knew crumbled. family friends no longer devoted time to the pair, for fear of the little girls condition and the stigma that surrounded it. she often hated herself in the days before hogwarts, but some relief came once her magical schooling began.
none knew of her secret during her early years at school, except a few selective staff members. the professors were kind and began teaching her early on how to live and even excel with her condition. she's not sure what she would have become without the support of the staff. with some new found confidence at school, she once again picked up her studies and allowed herself to physically vent through quidditch. she's unsure where her future is heading, knowing many registered werewolfs live in poverty as it is difficult to obtain employment, but she's grown a strong resilience to at least try and succeed with the cards she's been dealt.
she is a registered werewolf she often smells of the forest only a few selective staff are aware of her condition - this group aids her by providing wolfbane and life lessons full list of love's charries

being brought up in a magical family, he was introduced very early to the history of their world and immediately grew entranced. any material brought to him was devoured with enthusiasm and thus most of his passions arose and continued to flourish.

Rebekah Marie Asher Professor Asher is what most call her. Though, occasionally some may get away with calling her Beks. 36 Female. Bisexual. October 31st. Halfblood. TBD.
Black as pitch. Typically pinned into place or at the least braided. Occasionally though, it is loose and wavy, running to the lower back. Large and blue. 5 feet, 10 inches. 132 lbs. She has a scar on her right hand that she doesn't talk about. Other than that, smooth porcelain.
Hogwarts. Ravenclaw. Transfiguration professor and Head of Ravenclaw.
Transfiguration, Charms. Ancient Runes. Transfiguration and wizard's chess club sponsor,
Reading, the night sky, hot tea, classical music, smoking, and occasionally a bit of wickedness. Violence, most fish dishes, fire, summer months, Making a difference to a student, being made to feel safe. Killing someone of her own volition, turning dark.
Empathetic, confident, intelligent, protective, fiery. Reserved, timid in large groups, blunt, impatient, competitive.
Rebekah had always been a timid girl.
From a young age, she learned that others could be cruel. Being the daughter of the local town "witch" put a rather large target on her. She can still recall the worst incident, however. A group of small boys, perhaps only a year or two older than her seven year old self, found her talking to a snake one day. Rebekah had thought it was all in her imagination and so she never mentioned it to her mother or father. But those boys showed her that people could be cruel. They shouted the word witch at her while two held her down and the third brought flame to the back of her right hand. She did not scream, but rather bit back at the tears as she smelled the burning of flesh. When they released her she ran home to her mother and father, and frightened told them everything. Her mother's hand tightened on her back as she spoke of speaking with snakes. After her mother calmed her down, she explained everything.
Rebekah's mother was from a line of pureblooded witches and wizards in America, whom she fled which brought her to the UK, where she met her father, who was something called a muggle. And that gift of speaking with snakes was a gift her family had, a gift that she told Rebekah to keep quiet and to herself. No matter what. That there was nothing wrong in it, yet people may misjudge based on that alone. And eventually, Rebekah exhibited more of her gift, which was followed up with an invitation to attend Hogwarts. Her mother graciously accepted rather than send her to Ilvermorny to be around the darker half of her family. She was sorted into Ravenclaw, a good fit for the sharp mind that she possessed.
It was throughout her schooling where she truly came into herself. Though, it was later into her schooling that it took a firm hold. She became more confident, more assertive, more outgoing...even competitive. There wasn't a class where she wasn't constantly competing with the other students. She actually made friends, flourished, and planned for her future. There was a spark that caught fire in her.
After school she applied to be an auror, and was accepted almost immediately. It wasn't until after her time there that tensions began to climb more and more among the communities of muggles and wizards, violence becoming more and more commonplace. Until finally, a moment happened that she could never take back. They were trying to apprehend a wizard suspected of violence against muggles. They were following a lead they had received, her and her partner. The two of them were separated when suddenly she heard a rather imposing voice say one word and one word only. "Crucio." Rebekah felt the pain lance through her body. It was pain like she had never felt before. Pressure was pushing inwards on her, threatening to break her, her mind hoping for it to break her so that it could end. Her mind was so focused on the pain that she hadn't even felt herself fall victim to the imperius curse. Her attacked fell into the shadows, and under his control she felt herself pick up her wand and wait for her partner to find her.
Her wand pointed at him as he rounded the corned to find her as she shouted out, "Avada kedavra."
Immediately after he fell to the ground, his face frozen with surprise, Rebekah was released from the imperius curse. The next thing she remembers is other members of the ministry finding her sobbing over the body of her partner. She failed the one person that relied on her most in the world. Her body and mind were numb.
Weeks later, though she was cleared for duty once more, she left the ministry with no clear goal, until she was extended an offer to teach Transfiguration at Hogwarts. A shell of the person she once was, Rebekah took it. And for the past thirteen years this is where she has been, still able to recall the sound of her voice shouting the killing curse as it echoes through her mind. Still unable to live with the fact that she was too weak to resist the imperius curse. Wondering if she perhaps inherited some of the darkness that ran in her mother's family, all of whom, besides her mother, are dead or imprisoned.
Not only is she safe from the world at Hogwarts the world is safe from her.
Smells of fresh snow and fire. Capable of playing violin. Often carries around a black and gold tarot deck that her mother gave her as a child. The corners are worn from her playing with the deck as a nervous habit. Parselmouth.

sweets, reading, slackers, failing, animals becoming an auror disappointing her family
since birth jeanette had been told about magic and hogwarts. her parents, who were also ravenclaws, had no doubt that she'd immediately excel at everything she did the moment she got went to school but they spent years tutoring and training her just to be safe. by the time she got her hogwarts letter she could recite every hex, charm and jinx from the standard book of spells backwards and forwards. using her wit and talents jeanette secured a position as head girl of her house, a task her parents hadn't been able to achieve. with that success she had practically guaranteed herself an excellent magical career in the future, something her parents couldn't be more proud of. raised by two pureblood parents jeanette is well aware of how lucky she is compared to some of her peers. her magical ability will never be questioned and her place at hogwarts could never be rescinded. a fairly calm person, the only things that ever manage to ruffle jeanette's feathers is in regards to schoolwork. she despises people who slack off in class and hates those who do better than her even more. on more than one occasion she's sneakily ruined someone else's assignment to secure her place at the top. her favorite season is winter and when fresh snow falls it's one of the few times she'll actually abandon her books and play outside instead. she hangs out at professor diggory's place quite often, no one makes a cup of cocoa like louisa! a strange gift of hers is the remarkable ability to play cards extremely well. blackjack, poker, old maid, bridge, you name it, and she'll beat you at it. jeanette isn't particularly stylish and will usually wear slacks and a simple blouse for convenience and comfortability. pin board

nathaniel's father is a descendant of the legendary witch seraphine bones, whose portrait still hangs in hogwarts to this day. when nathaniel's younger brother, franklin, was born the bones' family lived in central london, but after his mother's health took a turn for the worse the family moved to the countryside. her health eventually improved enough for the bones' to try for another child and nathaniel was born a few years later. raised on the family farm with no one but his mother, father and older brother, nathaniel had a relatively secluded childhood. when he needed time alone he would often spend time in the stables, in the fields or in the forest discovering new plants and animals, detailing them all in his 'field journal' nate & frank's parents never attempted to hide magic from their children, in fact, they encouraged them to use their powers but only one of them had magical abilities, nate. the two brothers never had any animosity about this subject and frank would often ask his younger brother to show him "tricks" when he finally went to hogwarts nate found the adjustment from a small farm to a large school a difficult one and continued to spend most of his time outdoors, where he continued to expand his knowledge about plants and animals — magical ones now. frank had the unfortunate luck to not only be conscripted into world war 2, but he was actually killed in action, shot at the beginning of the summer. having his only brother and closest friend killed has given nate little patience for violence and he goes out of his way to avoid it he always carries his wand, field guide and camera so he can always be prepared. nate is against violence to the point that he is actually a vegetarian. pin board

teasing her sister, pastries, reading by the lake, drinking people who don't mind their own business, strong cologne/perfume, commitment of living her life the way she wants without judgement making an irreparable mistake due to her rash decisions
mia and her younger sister, irena, were born for purely images sake to a self centered mother and father. their parents were petty and their most treasured interest was the money they had in the bank and the fancy collateral that represented this sum in their home. the sisters were simply another piece of furniture to improve the families overall ensemble.
at a very young age, the siblings were torn away from their homeland, uprooted due to a better paying opportunity for their father in france. when it was revealed that both daughters were witches, their parents all but left them to their own devices. mia, being the older sibling and forced caretaker to her sister, was able to pick up enough of the french language for the two to get by as they grew. the two received private in home tutoring for their studies before they came of a certain age and received a visit from the headmaster of hogwarts, who felt they would excel in his institution.
as the peach parents could not flaunt these magical abilities to their high class society acquaintances, they were quick to agree. at least this way they could claim their daughters were attending a prestigious boarding school elsewhere. the two siblings continued to rely on one another, even though they were quick to rile each other up, they were always their at the end of the day to lean on.
after graduation mia returned to france where she remained active in the wizarding community, which had thus far been much more accepting and enjoyable for her to thrive in. she took up charms work after several years of indecision, and quickly fell in love and excelled exceptionally quickly as an apprentice. it wasn't long before she also met the most wonderful woman, moira, and began the first real relationship she had ever had. they were perfect for each other, and mia never felt held down or unfulfilled. that was until she was asked for her hand in marriage - she freaked, the idea of a forever commitment wasn't in her vocabulary yet.
to say mia handled the situation poorly would have been an understatement. she fled france and refused to respond to any correspondence from her now ex lover. in an eerily perfect timing of events, she received an offer. she accepted and began teaching at hogwarts, even surprising herself as she had not always been the best around younger adults or children. but she ended up finding much enjoyment in her profession and creating great bonds with her fellow coworkers. when her sister was kicked from her quidditch team, mia convinced her to join the staff, where the peach sisters once again wreak havoc amongst the halls of hogwarts.

If you were to ask Orion about her mother, the young Gryffindor would simply shrug and say she wouldn't know. As a newborn babe, the nameless mother would leave her nameless child on the front steps of the local orphanage. No one ever found out what brought the woman to leave behind her own-- and never did anyone identify her. But if you were to ask about her father? Nothing else in the world makes her light up as bright while also making her shoulders drop and her eyes water. User Image Jeremiah Holbrook was a muggle born astronomer who never found the time to settle down, what with living a busy life style. People found him odd-- at age forty he was a bit of an enigma being both established and well, painfully single. Women in his youth tried their best to throw themselves at his feet, but it just was never enough. Because it wasn't that he didn't have the time to date, or wasn't interested. He was gay; in a time where it just simply wasn't acceptable. So Jeremiah believed he would never have a family of his own, but upon visiting the orphanage to teach a small segment on constellations, he heard about the nameless newborn's story and took a chance. User Image He named her Orion, after his favourite constellation. When people asked about the whereabouts of her mother, Jeremiah would lie and say she grew sick during her pregnancy. That she died in child birth. So while society believed the two were blood relatives, the Holbrook duo were the ones passing knowing looks and secret smiles. Orion grew up knowing the truth. But not once did she ever wonder what it would be like to be his real daughter because there was never room for that kind of doubt. She loved her father like any daughter would, so it destroyed her nine year old heart when was killed in an automobile accident. User Image At first family members fought to be the ones to take her in. But with his death brought the truth, and the moment they learned she wasn't truly his child-- they no longer cared. She was thrown back into the system with nothing but her dearest belongings and the memory of her beloved father. User Image Placed in the care of Solomon Redworm, her life working living in Solomon's Home for Wayward Children was nothing but a horror. Forced along side the other children placed in his 'care' to tailor clothing or assemble small toys-- one word spoken out of turn was a demerit; Three demerits led to a beating and no supper. Three demerits were what landed her with the cigarette scars on her leg. Demerits she only got because she took the blame for one of the younger kids, who was terrified of what Mister Solomon would do if he saw the wet bedsheets. User Image When the time for school finally came it was like she finally had an escape from the hellish home. Despite her quiet nature, the tiny blonde would be sorted into Gryffindor the house of the brave. No longer did she have to calm the cries of the little ones or try to sneak an extra morsel of food. Here she could see the light-- she glimpses of her father she thought she had lost years ago. User Image Now a seventh year studying hard to find her way in life-- Orion Holbrook strives to meet her goal of becoming a curse breaker her late father would be proud of. By becoming one she would no longer be confined. She would be free to travel and do as she wished; no longer having to endure the raised hand of Mister Solomon. Become the hunter she was destined to be.

Growing up, Louisa was always encouraged to follow her heart. She was a rambunctious child, and her mother and father couldn't be happier with their first born. They were a couple that fell in love and married young-- a child quickly following. Most believed they wouldn't make it, but as Louisa grew older the two never fought, maybe argue, sure. Mr. and Mrs. Diggory was as much in love today as they were when they attended Hogwarts. Their love was admirable, and young Louisa could only dream she would be graced with that same kind of love. User Image Sorted into Hufflepuff, a Diggory tradition, Louisa was in love the moment she stepped inside. Her time at Hogwarts will always be among the fondest of her memories. The friends she made were irreplaceable, as were the antics she got up to. It was in her fifth year the young witch found out she was getting a little brother, which only made her time there more enjoyable. If she wasn't at school excelling at her studies, she was back home for the holidays bouncing a bright baby boy on her knee. Their age difference was great sure, but the moment Louisa first held little Pierre in her arms-- she knew that it would be her job to protect him. Sometimes there is simply nothing more powerful than the love and bond between siblings. User Image Upon graduating Hogwarts, Louisa Diggory began the grueling process of becoming a hit wizard. In a field dominated by men at the time, she had to fight tooth and nail to get where she was, and at first, it put a large strain on her relationship with her parents. They told her she wasn't strong enough, so she got stronger. Wasn't fast enough, so she got faster. When she came back for Christmas after completing training; Louisa was not only top of her division but awaiting a position back in London. It was at that point that both of her parents realized that no matter what they said or did, they could not change their daughter's choice. Instead, they began to accept it. Much later they would even be proud of her. User Image While Pierre grew up under the safety of their parent's roof-- Louisa would be trekking across the globe hunting down the wizarding world's most wanted and dangerous. It was a job she did well, and one she loved with all of her heart. There was simply no better payment than bringing peace to those who were wronged by the criminals she helped put away. As she grew into her mid-twenties, there were expectations for her to begin settling down. But not once did she ever feel the urge to nest. If she ever felt lonely, she could find someone to chase away the night with. That, or she could go home and catch up with her kid brother. So as a woman so devoted to her job; how did she end up the groundskeeper at Hogwarts? User Image She fell for her neighbour, a gentle Scottish man by the name of Douglas Briar. He lived a very quiet life working for Gringott's bank and his favourite subject in school had been arithmancy. Douglas was the complete opposite of her, but the way he said her name and held her hand? Was more than enough to make her grow weak in the knees. After a year of dating, she would be the one to pop the question to him-- only to be rejected because he didn't like the secrecy of where she went and what she did for a living. So placing her full trust in the man, she told him. That was where it all began. User Image Douglas Briar was not who he said he was. He wasn't a quiet banker like he claimed, but he was actually Ashton Abernathy; a dark wizard who's favourite class was, in fact, arithmancy back in the day. The accent was fake, his history, his Hogwarts house-- he was using her to extract the information he needed. But when the truth came to light, he would claim the love was real. Imploring her to leave it all behind and to join him. Unable to arrest the man she was prepared to spend the rest of her life with, he got away. Leaving her with a large mess to clean up. User Image Once it was cleared that Louisa had no idea of the plot, the force decided it would be best to keep her out of the field until he was behind bars. They just couldn't risk her emotions getting in the way of catching him. So they gave her two options; to stay at home on paid leave, or to take up a job where they could keep a close eye on her. Unable to bear the idea of sitting at home, Louisa agreed to take up the job. After a couple strings were pulled, the title of Groundskeeper would be hers. And the next five years would give her some clarity. User Image Now thirty-one, all ideas of catching the man who betrayed her years ago are lost. Louisa has settled for the quiet life this job has provided her and is thankful for the time it has given her to spend with her kid brother. To actually watch him grow up instead of just hearing about it in letters from home. And while she does enjoy caring for the magical creatures and tending to the gardens; the thirst for adventure from before is still lingering in her heart.

Not once in his young life did Grey have any negative experiences. Life, he learned, was his for the taking and was only what you made of it. On top of this he was exposed to two amazing worlds: on one hand, the muggle world, and on the other, the wizarding world. He grew up knowing each detail of both. His mother, an English muggle, was a history professor with a focus on Egypt and all of the secrets it held. His father was a renowned American magizoologist with roots specifically in Hawaii. Even before he exhibited magical abilities, his father did not shy away from putting him around unicorns, hippogriffs, a demiguise, and even once a sphinx. Grey's mother gave his father absolute hell for that one. Even to this day, he recalls it with fondness. And, though he would have been perfectly happy in life if he hadn't, his happiness was overwhelming when he showed that he took after his father in more than one way. Since their home was in England, despite all the traveling, Grey was put into Hogwarts.
He was sorted into Hufflepuff, and at first he hated everything about the school. The constant restraint of being indoors, the uniform, more specifically the tie, the uptight students all focused on being the best, the amount of hormones and testosterone competing over the rest, and most of all - flying classes. To this day, he is not a man fit for a broom. Much keener on apparating, floo powder and even use of portkey. His favorite though has to be on the back of the hippogriff. Just you, the creature, and the trust between the two.
His only salvation at the school for some time was Care of Magical Creatures. It was THE class that he flourished in albeit for understandable reasons. No matter what the creature, Grey seemed to have an understanding with it that couldn't be matched. Even his professor at the time commented on their amazement. And, interestingly enough, it did not take him long to realize that people were also animals, and should be treated as such. So, he approached people with the same sincerity and kindness that he showed animals, and became quite the people person, despite his lack of....refinement. Which only led to his flourishing all the more in school. And, by the time he graduated, his care of magical creatures professor offered him an opportunity to work with dragons as well as other dangerous creatures with a group of his old colleagues.
For years he fell in love with the natural landscape of so many foreign and exotic places as he chased after different dragons, chimaeras, a few thunderbirds, and even a phoenix. Though his true love has always been dragons, running a consistently close race with gaining intimate knowledge of women. He was never in any place for long enough to develop any sort of relationship, and to be fair that arrangement suited him just fine. As soon as he would find the time to undress, there would be yet another tail to chase, off a dragon, that is. He added to his scars over the years from different beasts and creatures, until one day he came face to face with what he had always sought. The ferociousness of the Hungarian Horntail. If you ever ask him about it, he will tell you that he never felt more alive than when those large black eyes stared him down, the giant girl reeling her head back to spew fire. He apparated just in time, the flames barely tickling his right arm, though it was enough to melt some of his skin. One of his more minor marks, however. But one of his favorite stories.
A few years later, things shifted slightly and he found himself in London, visiting with his mother and father. He went down to a bar that was a few streets over. After having a few drinks, there was a girl which caught his eye. She had a bit of a wild look to her. The hair falling in a way that suggested a streak of mischievous thoughts ran through her mind. The clothing she wore suggested looser morals. He shot back his glass, and walked up to her, only moments later leaving the building behind. While they sought out their own pleasures in an alley, the girl snapped her head forward when the moon revealed itself. Grey noticed almost immediately, and in the pit of his stomach knew as soon as he saw a look in her eyes what he was facing. "Oh hell." And the man did not have his wand on him. He woke the next day in a hospital, a large piece of his flesh ripped from his shoulder, bandaged as best as possible, having been told he was found bleeding out in an alley. As soon as he was left alone, he apparated, and bandaged himself up, knowing the truth and not wishing to tell others. The only proof is a large, gnarled patch of skin on his right shoulder and a few faint marks from claws going down his side.
He went back to work, where he stayed until he had an offer that gave him an epiphany. Now he is comfortably at Hogwarts teaching Care of Magical Creatures and also acting as Head of Hufflepuff.

vladimir's mother was considered one of the most beautiful women of her time — unsurprisingly so what with veela running through her veins — she was pursued by dozens of wizards, each more influential and powerful than the next, but it was a muggleborn who wound up winning her heart vladimir has three older sisters and he blames them for his obsession with girls, when he was younger they would always have their friends practice kissing and flirting on him and it left quite an impression because of his veela background if vladimir becomes angry his face slightly morphs, becoming more harsh and birdlike loves water and can often be found swimming in the early mornings — it's how he relaxes a huge flirt, you can usually find vlad snogging a new girl every week but his intentions are "pure" and he's just on the hunt for his one true love — everyone knows you have to kiss a few toads before you find the princess. he's kind enough that most girls he kisses wind up becoming his friends later, with little-to-no hard feelings. oh, he's never been in an actual relationship and is still a virgin (he's waiting for the one)!

Beauxbatons. Gryffindor. Defense Against the Dark Arts
Defense Against the Dark Arts Potions Oversaw dueling club at Beauxbatons.
Salted dark chocolate, the smell of books, a smooth red wine, blankets, formal dancing (the level of intimacy), sunlight and the illumination it casts, sleep, blue rare steaks.. Excessive sweets, heat of summer, chewing gum, heavy drinking (she doesn't mind others doing it just can't partake on account of being a light weight), tea cakes, tea, wizarding robes. What everyone dreams: to make a difference, even a small one here and there would do. Extreme thunder storms, spiders, being meaningless.
Friendly, outgoing, loyal, sharp witted/quick minded, driven, patient. Trusts too easily, impulsive, non-confrontational with personal affairs, easily worried.
Marabelle was born in southern France to two rather ordinary muggles and therefore started out with a remarkably normal upbringing. In fact, it wasn't until the age of seven in grade school that she exhibited any signs of being different. And what a commotion it caused. Long story quite short, a rather aggressive bully was turned into a rather gentle rabbit, and she carried the poor boy around with her for half a day before adults wearing rather off garments showed up to right the accident and erase the memories of those effected. And afterwards, they spoke with her and her parents to let her know that she was special. Though to be honest, she only heard half of it, too consumed by the fact that they seemed to be wearing sleep clothes in the middle of the day. Later though, she was informed by her parents that she would continue schooling at home until the age of eleven when she would attend Beauxbatons.
When she attended her first year she was one of five muggleborn students, and though she received a few looks on occasion she managed to find a friend within everyone and became rather well adjusted to this entirely new word. Eventually she graduated within the top rankings of her class and took up work with the French Ministry of Magic. While she was offered the position of a hit wizard, she instead opted for becoming an auror, having the mandatory scores on her O.W.L.s. It was whenever she entered this particular career field that she learned the true cruelty of people. Somehow she had put blinders on for the majority of her time in school. But out on the front lines, finding wizards and witches targeting muggles, and the extremes they went to - it made her feel ill at times. There was one case in particular however that made her resign. A witch with the ability to shift into a panther ate away at her victims while they were still alive. Within weeks of being assigned that case, she resigned. The scenes were too much for her.
Instead, she applied with Beauxbatons for a teaching position.
Marabelle quickly became happier in her new position at the school, the light returning to her once weary and frightened eyes. And she has been there since teaching young and fresh minds the ways they can keep themselves safe.
Likes to keep fresh cut flowers so that the first thing she can do in the morning is take a moment to smell them.
Smells like peonies, her favorite flower, and lavender.
Apart from French, is fluent in English as her father is an Englishman.
Laughs when nervous in social situations.
Active.

cecelia rose everett cee, occasionally cece seventeen female heterosexual august eigth muggleborn nate
dark auburn, long and untamed, wavy hazel five feet, one inch one hundred seven pounds small scar on right cheek, both ears pierced once.
likes dislikes that she survives the chaos and emerges able to help people through medicine death; a fear that grows more realistic each day soft-spoken, optimistic, warm, intelligent, brave, unwavering loyalty anxious, stubborn, distrusting, naive, constantly questioning
Cecelia's parents met very young in life, married as soon as they were able, her father using his education to open a medical practice. Her mother was a nurse who worked for a hospital in the city. Their goals were quite similar in life. To care for those who couldn't care for themselves. It was clear why they were so drawn to one another. It came as a surprise to no one when, only a year into their marriage, her mother was expecting child and eventually had Cecelia. They frequently stated what they believed to be true. There was no greater joy they could imagine than having a child. She became their world, and as a result was raised within a positive and loving environment. Cecelia was brought up to recognize hate, and extinguish it like the flame of a candle.
It came as quite the shock to the two muggles when their daughter exhibited magic. But, to the seven year old girl, her world opened up to things that she had only dreamt possible. Her first visit to Diagon Alley was only the tip of the iceberg, her breath catching in her throat as the boats brought them up to the castle that was Hogwarts...the place that would quickly become her home away from home. It was a haven. Until one day in her second year, a young boy a year ahead of her opened up her eyes to a darker half of the wizarding world. She was reading in the library when suddenly, out of nowhere, a heavier book smashed into her cheek. He had thrown it at her. Instantly, and understandably confused, she looked around. Cecelia looked up to see the boy laughing at her. Tears formed as she asked why he would do such a thing. "Because you come from filthy muggles." Instead of going to the nurse she went to her dorm and cleaned up the cut herself. For the first time, and quite possibly the last, she felt shame. Shame about who she was. And to this day, she has a small scar there to remind her to never feel that way again.
Within her fourth year, her world changing drastically. Her father enlisted to serve. He felt the best way to help those who needed it was by becoming a field medic. Cecelia's father often quoted his favorite Irishman Edmund Burke in saying "the only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing." He kissed her goodbye on the forehead, gave her some of his favorite books, hugged her tightly, and left. He became considered missing in combat. There was never a body recovered. It used to be she would convince herself he was still alive, waiting for her when she would return home. But after a couple of years, the hope began to disappear. Never will she forget what he taught her though. And it is due to him that she wishes to become a doctor within the wizarding world. There are plenty capable of fighting. There aren't nearly enough to mend those who have become broken.
It was last year that tested her strength of character, however. Cecelia no longer lives in the home she once knew so well. Instead, she stays in the country side with her aunt. Last year, in the middle of the school year, she was taken to the headmaster's office to be informed of a serious matter. Cecelia was informed that her mother passed away taking shelter in the London underground during a bombing. The damage unleashed water, effectively drowning everyone underneath. This was a blow that was harder to handle. It became apparent as she stopped being so outgoing. She withdrew. A good bit of the friends she had, she shut out.
Over the summer, she saw a psychiatrist, all the while focusing on the things that she still loved. Photography, art, cinema, and even helping people. There was a hospital taking volunteers. Though there was a lot of blood, she felt a satisfaction like nothing else helping with bandaging wounds and staying bedside, keeping company to those made it. The interactions helped to open her up again. She spoke with them about her family, and they spoke to her about theirs. It made her happy to know that even though she may never see her family again, they would see theirs. And, at the end of the summer, something extraordinary happened. She was walking home to her aunt's, and as she approached the house, walking towards her was someone she thought she would never see again. Cecelia broke down in tears while running to her father, whose arms were open and waiting for her. Her small frame was lost in his. She kept crying, hard, apologizing for things she could have never helped, specifically in regards to her mother. He kissed her hard on the forehead. "It's okay, Cecelia. It's okay. We are gonna be okay."
Now, returning to school, her resolve is stronger than ever. And when she feels afraid, she tells herself "the only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing."
