Faye Gorrym ------"Someday, someone will best me. But it won't be today, and it won't be you." Faye gasped in shock. Even after watching the students before her launch into the air, it still came as a surprise. She gathered herself quickly, deciding there was no time to waste, and put her arms out to steady herself, scanning for a place to land. Her weapon wouldn't be of much use, it seemed the easiest way to land would be to use her semblance. She shapeshifted into a crow and found a low branch to land on before turning back, then climbed down and dusted herself off, hoping no one saw her. The forest was unnervingly quiet, feeling spooked Faye drew her staff and looked around cautiously. ______________________________________________________________________________________ Profile: ✖

ӎɩɼαɩ ɩɠηαϮɩѻʊs~~~~~I didn't want to be a 'miracle flame'...just wanted to make a difference. She looked on with a bored expression to her left, watching people getting launched into the air. Internally, though, she was excited. It wasn't every day that she'd get to be thrown into the air. Sure enough, a smile crossed her mouth as she flew through the air, using small charges of energy through her feet to go further, spinning through the air, the baubles on the ends of her horns gleaming in the light. Mirai took out her bow, propelling through the air to land softly on a large branch, surveying for grimm before traveling through the treetops.

When it was his time he felt every muscle in his body tighten as the feeling of weightlessness that was characteristic of being flung through the air. His heart felt like it was on overdrive as he was soaring low in the sky, watching the tops of very tall trees skim by. With his mind frozen by the sheer strangeness and panic of the situation the merc did not know what to do, never before in his life had he been in such a situation. Moments before plunging into the forest's canopy he set his arms in a cross before his face and upper torso while also drawing his knees in but making sure they wouldn't slam into his chest. The next few seconds were like hell on earth, with the sound of cracking branches and screeching metal Meryn fell like a stone through the upper reaches of the forest canopy.
As he fell Meryn was desperately trying to make heads or tails of the world around him as his visor was alternatively filled with light then dark, leaves then sky. A particularly bad impact came crashing into his poorly protected midsection, the force of the impact drove all the air from his lungs with pain following quickly, possibly indicating broken or bruised ribs. The upside to this whole thing was that he had finally come to a stop, his body hanging limply from the tree branch. Frantically gasping to regain his breath, the effort making his chest feel like a firestorm, Meryn fought to maintain what little grip on consciousnesses he had left. His vision swam, refusing to come into focus and his body was refusing to listen to him for the most part, the most he could manage was clenching his fingers. Within his mind he was cursing everyone and thing that had ever been for the situation he was in now, If I ever see one of them again I swear by the gods I am going to gut them!, he thought while waiting for his body to recover.

"It's all about looks to gain someone's trust"----------- Baelfire was crossing his arms, as his eyes went back and forth, watching the students get launched into the abyss. What a great school this turned out to be. Why the hell did he need to get launched? He thought he should just walk off, and go down the cliff. He believed it was better rather than getting launched into the unknown. Who knows what could of been down there? But his plan became useless, when he found himself in the air. "There goes my detective skills..."
He mumbled to himself, as he could only hear the wind pass by him. He was swaying his arms, and legs around in the air, as he wasn't use to it. Bleaker let out a sigh, as he was panicking to reach for a wristband that was on his arm. He gripped onto it, making the wristband devour his whole hand to appear as a red gauntlet. The time of himself in the air was getting short, so he had to ask fast. The colors that were all coordinated different, turn into a bright red instead, when he gripped his gauntlet hand together. In front of him was branch, and he immediately gripped onto the branch when he made it under. His gauntet released a flame from underneath, and burnt the branch to crisp. Which then made him fall, and hit other branched down the way. "Smart one, Baelfire. This stupid thing is hard to use."He groaned as he was on the floor, laying on the branches he landed on. He began to sit up from his position, having some trouble due to the now back pain, and began to look around. The forest he was launched into seemed quiet, and simple. But who really knows what lurks about.

ӎɩɼαɩ ɩɠηαϮɩѻʊs~~~~~I didn't want to be a 'miracle flame'...just wanted to make a difference. The faunus paused at the sound of screeching metal and loud noises that came from somewhere nearby, recalling that there was someone wearing a quite full suit of armor earlier. She snorted in amusement at the thought that it had not served that person well at all. Something about the idea of people face-planting into trees really amused her. Slipping effortlessly from branch to branch, Mirai rounded the tree acrobatically in search of any prospective teammates-to-be or creatures of grimm. Finding neither, the wine-haired girl decided to hunt for both, as there was a huge grimm's trail to find, as well as a partner. Perhaps someone who could launch her higher into the air than she could. Every tree looked pretty much the same, and there were no hints in a dense and unharmed wood. It was a lovely place for someone to get in trouble with smaller soulless monsters, however. Sure enough, as she swung through the branches, she came upon a pair of beowulves. Mirai let her hands slip off the branch she was on and flip through the air, drawing her bow and quickly nailing each of them through the side of their neck before continuing on her route.

Faye Gorrym ------"Someday, someone will best me. But it won't be today, and it won't be you." The blonde's head jerked up upon hearing a loud crash and splintering tree branches to her right. She flattened her body against the nearest tree and her hands tightened around her staff's grip, knuckles turning white. She stood still for what felt like ages, conjuring pictures of monstrous grimm in her mind, until labored breathing and a soft groan interrupted her thoughts. "Another student? They must have had a rough landing, sounds like they're hurt." Internally, she felt a wave of relief, fighting grimm by herself would have been a challenge. Faye crept forward on silent feet, her breath caught in her throat. If another student was seriously hurt it would be irresponsible to leave them. Before she had attended Signal Academy, she was vaguely aware of her healing aura. When she arrived at Signal, she was encouraged to harness it, and with practice she became a competent healer. Since then, she tried to help people whenever she could.
"Hello?" She asked, coming to the clearing where the noise had originated from. Her heart pounded in her chest and she looked around. The clearing itself was normal, the ground was dirt, dotted with occasional rocks, trees surrounded it on all sides. Above, an armored figure clung to a tree branch, breathing heavily and covered in debris. She grimaced. "Are you okay? Need a hand up there?"________________________ Profile: ✖

Meryn Falsteem +=-=+=-=+=-=+=-=+=-=+=-=+=-=+=-=+=-=+=-=+=-=+=-=+=-=+=-=+=-=+=-=+=-=+=-=+=-=+=-=+=-=+=-=+=-=+=-=+=-=+=-=+=-=+ Hanging onto to a branch, he'd moved around a little since landing, the only thing stopping him from falling a good thirty feet to the ground below, Meryn was taking stock of his situation which was both good and bad. The good news was that he was not dead though in a lot of pain, the bad news was that he had no means of getting down from the tree safely, not with four broken ribs. Anything beyond breathing, and that just barely, he was sure would cause immense pain which, despite his rather ample pain tolerance, would more than likely be enough to make him lose his grip and plunge to his certain doom. If I somehow live through this I am quitting this insane school and going back to being a merc, the man thought looking up at his arms, quivering with fatigue then snorting saying,
"If I live." to himself in a decidedly sarcastic tone.
Suddenly a voice came from below making him look down, responding,
"I'm hanging from a tree branch thirty feet above the ground, I'm pretty sure I have a few broken ribs, and my arms are about to give. No I'm in great shape, thanks for asking." snapping at the girl through his helm warping and twisting his voice to give it a metallic, inhuman tone. Realizing in a second what he'd just done, making him sigh heavily, and wince in pain, he spoke again,
"Listen, sorry I just... did that, but I am not exactly in a position of patience right now so... please help me down." bowing his head though he wasn't sure if the gesture would translate well as he was. +=-=+=-=+=-=+=-=+=-=+=-=+=-=+=-=+=-=+=-=+=-=+=-=+=-=+=-=+=-=+=-=+=-=+=-=+=-=+=-=+=-=+=-=+=-=+=-=+=-=+=-=+=-=+

"It's all about looks to gain someone's trust"----------- With a petty groan, Baelfire managed to get himself up from the debris of branches under him. He immediately began to swat himself from any dirt on his very noticeable suit. Not much of a sneaky one Baelfire was, but his personality seemed to fit those shoes at times. He raised his gauntlet hand, and gripped around its wrist. Which reverted back to its normal wristband form, and more accessible to travel. He could here some commotion going on with some trees, probably the same as him, but nothing that were to get his full attention. He turned 180 degrees, and began to walk throughout the forest. The hell was he suppose to find here? Pals? Monsters? Speaking of monsters, Baelfire heard a terrible noise from a unknown creature, as well as a sound of a bow. A archer must of been nearby. He pursued his way where the noise went, and appeared to make it. "Surely not a problem for this person."He commented on the multiples death of monsters lying around him. He walked over to one of them, and squared down by the head of one. Baelfire slowly maneuvered his hand toward the top of his head, and placed it there for a while. Whoever was here must of been long gone. He took a look at the weapon that silenced the monster, and took it. Baelfire was examined the arrow that killed the monster, and swiped the edge of his fingers on the body. "Hmph."In a instance, he shoved the arrow in his arm, wincing a bit from the sting. Making a perfect whole in his suit, which disappointed him a bit, but it was all about survival here. He raised from his spot where the passed monster laid, and examined the area around him. Baelfire spotted leaves fallen from a branch, and must of been the killer. He thought meeting the person who cold blood murdered the monsters would be the best partner in this scenario. So then he took off to where the killer headed off to, running at a normal rate. But when he passed by a tree, he turned himself into one of the victim monsters. He had the arrow in his arm, and was now running on four legs. He was exactly like the monsters that were killed. A very perfect disguise to find the murderer, but might end up being another victim.
