CAL stands for crochet along. Here, you will find our CAL projects that we've completed as a group. Each CAL lasts one month unless other wise stated. I hope that we inspire you to work on these projects too. The title is a link to the pattern so that you can try them out. If you are new or we're not working on a certain project and you have finished one, please PM me with a pic of your project and I will add it to the guild gallery. Enjoy.
As always, there are no comments allowed in a gallery, so if you want to compliment someone about their project, please send them a PM or quote them somewhere else in the guild. Thank you.
RHSS light blue, white, and cornflower Hook size 7 (4½mm) 2 dark blue buttons from my random button stash
Circumference is about 27", diameter is about 9"
I did end up not really liking the feet or flippers, so I came up with my own. There's a very thin layer of stuffing under the face part, too... partly because I miscalculated when I started sewing it on, and the beak is about a row or two too high -- it's just that by the time I realized it, I didn't want to go back and redo so much. xd I like how it came out, though. *satisfied*

I used some left over stashes of Red Heart Super Saver worsted weight yarn in white, black and yellow with a size E hook. I didn't like the look of the crocheted eyes, so I used some small black eyes that I had bought from Hobby Lobby. I also used faolon's pattern for the feet.
The pillow turned out quite small: 9 1/2" wide & 24" around. I guess I was crocheting tighter than I thought I was. lol.
After watching the video and seeing the direction of the flippers Sabrina Sun attached to her pillow, I was curious to see what penguin's wings really look like. After seeing several pics of them online, I decided to make the longer edge of the flipper face towards the top of the pillow and the shorter edge face the bottom.
