In the profile, it states:

Skills Filesxxxxxx│║█║

Weapon skills✔ || Found here ||

Magic / Beast skills [Depending on what Class you pick]✔ || Found here ||

Primary Passive skills✔ || Found here ||

Secondary Passive skills✔ || Found here ||

Basically, heres what it means.

Weapon Skills = The section that says Weapon Skills and Ranged Weapons.

Magic/Beast Skills = The Magic section, and the Beast Skills section.

Primary Passive Skills = Your first choice of General Skill

Secondary Passive Skills = Your second choice of General Skill

You get 15 Points for now, out of those sections for one skill = 1 point, so pick and place. c:

The Skill system in SAO is designed to allow players the ability to uniquely shape their characters. Two parts constitute this system. The first allows players to decide on which skills to take at level one up to five from each category below, in accordance to their class if such skills are selected from weapon-based skills. Players are not restricted to selecting the max five in each list when they start - they may select fewer skills and place more points in them rather than spreading the points out evenly among the allowed limit.

The second part of the system entails the remainder of the game. Level progression allows you to gain more points (five per level) and allocate them as desired. For weapons, more skills will be unlocked as the character reaches a certain milestone (usually levels five, ten, fifteen, etc). The maximum level achievable in SAO is 100, therefore it is possible to select only five skills and have them at max rank by the end game. This is usually ill advised however since such characters bear larger weaknesses than others who are considered "Jack(or Jill)-of-all-trades."

Whichever path the player decides to take, each and every decision from the first skills taken at level one to the specializations or hybridization by the final level, no two players will ever walk the same footsteps. These shape each man or woman into who they become down the road. It's only a matter of which step you'll take when it's your turn to make your own mark in the game.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Certain skills have a set success rate. To determine the success of it, write the skill you're rolling for and roll a die in the rolling dice thread.

          For example:
          Guard has a 70% chance to block some damage and a 5% chance to block all damage.

          Let's assume you decide to roll a one-hundred sided die. This is what the scenario might be:

          If the roll is 1 ~ 5, all damage is blocked.
          If the roll is 6 ~ 75, some of the damage is blocked.
          If the roll is 76 ~ 100, the skill fails to block any damage.

When a skill reaches level 50, hybrid skills can be unlocked and may be unique to solely that character.

          For example:
          50 levels in Suina (INT)(Study of pigs) + 50 levels in MedShield(ATK) = Boar Rush - The player charges at an enemy and displaces them backwards a certain distance. Also causes the target to falter for a few seconds.

The skills in SAO are designated in five general categories:

1. Combat Skills: These are the usual forms of fighting utilized and are commonly known on the floors of Aincard.

2. Magic Skills: Though not in the original game, these were implemented in a later version for more options to players.

3. Beast Skills: Along with taming abilities, a branch of zoological studies allows players to study specific types of beasts in the game. This can unlock additional abilities and skills as well as enhance damage and defenses against certain types.

4. General Skills: Basic survival skills players can obtain to improve other abilities.

5. Unique Skills: Skills attained upon reaching level 50. [See below for more information.]

Ranged Weapons (Longbows, Short bows, crossbows)
Because an archer is limited to three types of weapons, all skills translate well across the board and as a result they are capable of wielding all three. There are some that are restricted to a certain bow type, but all are accessible to the archer.

Ranged Attack ✶ [All] The rudimentary attack every ranger learns. Draws and arrow and fires at the target.

Empowered Shot ✶ [All] A more powerful version of a normal attack. If in mobile combat, the user is slowed to a walk in order to charge up the meter before release.

Cripple Shot ✶ [All] Weaker than even a ranged attack, the purpose of the arrow or bolt is not to damage, but find a weak point in the enemy. If it lands, any single melee attack immediately after will have its damage amplified a small percentage to make up for the lack of power from the ranger.

Double Up ✶ [Longbow/Short bow] Draws two arrows and fires both at the same time.

Tricone ✶ [Longbow/Short bow] Same as above, only with three arrows and fires in a cone.

Rapid Succession ✶ [All] The user draws fives arrows or bolts in one hand and fires them consecutively without penalty or delay between each one. Each arrows increases with power until the fifth arrow.

Crystalline Shatter ✶ [All] 100% Ice : The arrow or bolt lands on a target and if one or more enemies are nearby, the arrow will shatter and damage nearby enemies. Overall damage is less than Empowered Shot, but greater than Ranged Attack.

Hellfire Encasing ✶ [All] 100% Fire : When near a fire source (a torch, campfire, or extremely hot environments), all arrows and bolts will have a flame enhancement.

Grapple Hook ✶ [X-bows only] Fires a special type of bolt at an immobile object. A rope, cable, or chains may be used as way to swing away or help move a ranger to safety. EVA stat is temporarily increased by 15 when this is active. Each bolt is only good for one attempt at escaping in combat.

Lock-On ✶ [All] Usable only once per battle: the ranger is rooted for the duration of the skill, all EVA temporarily converting to P-ATK until the skill ends. A very powerful move for archers, but dangerous if positioning isn't taken into account.

Needle Rain ✶ [Longbow Only] Fires a single arrow high into the air before multiplying and coming down in fairly wide area. Moderate damage.

Magic Skills

Pyrokinesis – the psychic ability to speed up of the naturally occurring vibrations of atoms in matter to alter temperature, possibly to the point of ignition if combustible.

Hydrokinesis – is the paranormal psychic ability to control and manipulate the movement of liquid water using the power of the mind. Hydrokinetics are shown to be able to control, manipulate and alter the molecular state of water. They are also able to manipulate the surrounding water in the atmosphere, freeze water, or even make really thick clouds of mist, steam or fog.

Terrakinesis/Geokinesis - is the psychic ability to manipulate minerals and compounds with the mind. Geokinesis is a very versatile ability. The user can manipulate,rocks,dirt, and sand.

Fulgurkinesis – is the psychic power to manipulate energies, electrical currents, and generate electricity with the mind. Users are able to conduct, generate and manipulate a form of energy resulting from the existence of charged particles (such as electrons or protons) which give the user control over electric fields, electric charges, electric currents, electronics, and electromagnetism.

Umbrakinesis – The user can absorb, program, and manipulate shadows. Used in cleansing out chakra system from negative energy and dirt by absorbing and "corrupting" said dirty or negative energy into it's own.

Atmokinesis – is the psychic ability to manipulate the flux of the atmosphere with the mind at will, resulting in a change of weather patterns and formation of freak weather conditions. This ability allows generation of any natural weather condition, from fog and rain to thunderstorms, lightning, hail storms, blizzards and hurricanes (and the calming or heightening of such conditions). At the higher bands, the user can even cause climate shifts (although sometimes one can only cause weather native to the area they are in).

Telekinesis – is the psychic ability to directly influence objects using our mind. We can use telekinesis to move objects, vibrate objects, but we can also use it to manipulate time, elements, space, and energy. Telekinesis can also be used to distort material items and has been cited as the power used to manipulate random number generators.

Cryokinesis – can be defined as using Psychokinesis to manipulate the molecular speed of an object. Slowing of the molecules produces cold temperatures, as cold temperatures can be defined as a lack of energy. By doing this users can reduce the kinetic energy of atoms and molecules and thus making things colder, for various effects and combinations.

Aerokinesis – is the psychic ability to manipulate, control, alter or create air molecules, wind currents, and control air with the mind. With this power, practitioners can manipulate the air around them to change the flow of current and even form gusts of wind. Combined with Thermokinesis, aerokinetic maneuvers can create warm or cold gusts. Not only does it require focus, but also it involves connecting with the wind. That is, creating and maintaining a conscious connection with the air.

Agrokinesis – is the ability to mentally manipulate plant-life, as well as their anatomy such as leaves, seeds, fruits and flowers with the mind. This ability in effect controls the limiting factors of plants, hormones and other important substances.

Cruorkinesis – is the ability to mentally manipulate Blood with the mind.

Gemmakinesis – is the ability to mentally manipulate Gems and crystals with the mind.

Phasmakinesis – is the ability to mentally manipulate spiritual energy such as ectoplasm.
