"Maw unleashing razor snow, Of dragons from the blue brought down, Births the walking winter's woe, The High King in his Jagged Crown"- Ancient Nordic Verse 4E 203.Two years after the legendary hero slayed Alduin, saving Tamriel from imminent destruction.
Skyrim's civil war comes to an end after the Dragonborn sides with the Stormcloaks, pushing them to victory and helping Ulfric Stormcloak acquire the Jagged Crown which partially influenced the Moot to declare him High King. Now an independent state free from Imperial rule, the people of Skyrim are free to govern themselves and worship whatever gods they want. The age of oppression is now nearly done, so the bards sang. ...Or is it just about to begin? The Aldmeri Dominion is finished playing games. Their efforts at flaunting their power over the Empire's province backfired, but it is not a total loss. Without the Empire to jump to Skyrim's aid, the Thalmor are now free to launch a full-scale invasion to capture the province for themselves, to set an example of what would happen to any who dared defy the Aldmeri Dominion. With the Dragonborn busy eliminating the remaining dragons wreaking havoc across Tamriel, the situation looks grim for the Nords of Skyrim... May Talos protect you, Stormcloaks, for no one else can.______________________________________ Notes - The government is in shambles. Ulfric has given the Jarls free reign on their respective holds as he focuses his efforts on fortifying his armies. There is still some semblance of order in most holds, which choose to adhere to most of their former Imperial laws, though hostility and tension increases between the native Nords and the Elven citizens. Wood elves and High Elves face the most persecution, and guards will sanction the public execution of any accused spy, the idea of a fair trial a joke. Skyrim's borders to non-Nords are now closed, and most major cities require that current Elven citizens carry citizenship papers with them at all times. Forgery of these papers of failure to present them to a guard upon questioning is a crime with punishments ranging from deportation to death. Some call it cautious, others call it injustice.
- Though the Dunmer still face suspicion from the Nords, they are treated with slightly less disdain than other Elves. Near the end of the civil war House Redoran supplied aid to the Stormcloaks partly to spite the Empire, who had occupied Morrowind for centuries and offered no assistance to them during the devastating Red Year, with the High King of Skyrim at the time being the only one to extend compassion by bequeathing the island of Solstheim to the Dunmer. An unsteady alliance is in the works, though the Dunmer expect Skyrim to protect them from the Argonians when they next invade Morrowind.
- War has not been officially declared, but Ulfric, along with the rest of Skyrim anticipate an attack by the Aldmeri Dominion. His time and resources are spent strengthening his armies rather than on settling the political and social problems of the Holds, which is a source of disillusionment for the people who feel that Skyrim has become a military state, taking a step backwards from when they were under Imperial rule.

"The Imperials think we need their laws. Pffft."- Stormcloak Guard Given the non-linear, “do what you want” nature of the Elder Scrolls games, I will attempt to make this section as brief as possible.
[I will add combat rules when we get the combat system worked out]
1. Follow Gaia's ToS. That means NO sexually explicit content. Suggestive is okay. But nothing beyond that. If that is the kind of RP you want, take it to the private messages!
2. No godmodding/powerplaying/autohitting. This should go without saying.
3. Sorry, you cannot make your character the Dragonborn.
4. You may not play a canon character. You may, however, bring one in briefly as an NPC if needed to advance a story. However, it's best to ask permission first before doing this.
5. Out of character posts go in the OOC thread. All character profiles go here.
6. While I welcome and encourage those who may not be familiar with the games to join up, please do a little research and don't introduce something that wouldn't make sense in this universe (I mean like... giant anime robots or something ridiculous or obviously ripped off from other franchises). Use your better judgment. The Elder Scrolls Wiki and UESP.net are wonderful resources too!
7. And most importantly, COMMUNICATE! If you are going out of town, tell your RP partners that you'll be gone for a few days! No one likes to be left hanging! If you are about to make a big decision in the RP and you aren't sure how the other players will react, talk to them! Get that speechcraft up, because miscommunication hurts!
8. As far as Daedric artifacts (and other one-of-a-kind items for that matter) go, I would prefer if people do not give their character a unique item that would potentially give them incredible power, though I may not be opposed to it if you play it correctly (having your character eventually be corrupted by the artifact and fall under its control)
