This is the Lotusclan lake side. This is usually the place where you'd collect moss for the clan. From here you can see all three other clans. Its quite a beautiful sight.

The she-cat easily jumped onto a low branch of a tree and stared out onto the water. She obviously wouldn't have let her apprentice die! Maybe, at one point, but not now. They still had unresolved feelings toward each other. She closed her eyes, 'I hope those feelings disappear with his apprenticeship...' After he would become a warrior, they would barely even see each other. The thought lightened her heart a bit. It wasn't that she hated to apprentice. It was just that he was, well, very hateful towards her. It was starting to tear her down. She wouldn't let another cat die from trees. That was why she didn't like him sneaking around, and playing in trees. 'He'll never see it like that though... He'll only think of me as a horrible mentor and cat.' She sighed. She was finally free of his harsh words, denoting her in any way possible! She was glad, but wished it hadn't ended like this. Most mentors are friends with their apprentice after they become warrior...

Kind Warrior of Lotusclan

Family means a great deal to me...
It's why I planned to raise my sister...
But then I was offered a place in the clan...

The large tom had been enjoying his day by teaching his sister, Silverpaw, some new battle moves. He had been in the camp moments ago when Spottedpath and her apprentice Smokepaw had been having another one of their arguements. While his sister had been in the process of performing her move he had been watching the two. If there were any cat's in this clan he could honestly say he didn't like it had to be Smokepaw. The arrogant little scrape of fur never made things easy on his mentor, even though she had much to teach him. He watched as he left the soon to be warrior after announcing he'd be made a warrior. Demonshadow couldn't help but be a little surprised by all of this himself. He had quickly told his sister goodbye, promising they'd continue this training later before trotting out of camp in hopes of catching up with Spottedpath.
He had followed her scent and now stood beneath the trees looking around him. From up above a leaf floated downward and tickled his nose. He directed his gaze upward and saw her from where she was among that trees. The tip of his tail twitched a little, nervous that she might fall. She's the deputy, she knows what she's doing. he firmly reminded himself. From down below he called out "Hey mind if I join you." in that friendly tone of his.

It's why I never left my mother though I knew she was going crazy.
After the loss of my mother and brother.
And for that kindness i'd gladly give my life.

She hadn't been expecting company. She prepared herself for what she had to say, Her green eyes twinkled as she mewed happily, "sure, but I can tell that you'd rather speak on the ground." The light-footed deputy jumped down to the ground. She sat down, her tail wrapping tightly around herself. She closed her eyes and mewed tiredly, "you wanted to talk to me about Smokepaw. I have nothing left to teach him. If he were to have listened to me, I could have taught him much more, but he chose not to. He finally showed that he was able to think before he acted, that was the thing I was looking for most. I have taught him what he needs to know. You may not realize this, but to him, I'm just a blood-thirsty cat, and that I shouldn't be deputy, or even a mentor. I'm sorry, Demonshadow. I tried. You can try to convince me to keep him as an apprentice, but I would just be wasting my time trying to train him, when I could be helping another apprentice, who wants to learn from me. That's what it comes down to." The she-cat opened her eyes, her eyes were now filled with regret and sadness. She wished she could have changed how this had turned out. She couldn't take what she said back, that would just make it worse.

He silently breathed a sigh of relief when she came down to the ground instead of him having to climb up the tree to her. It wasn't that he wasn't a good climber, as a matter of fact it was just the opposite, but the clan didn't know this. When she sat he came to stand in front of her, taking a seat next to her. He was a few inches taller then her, seeing as he was a large cat, but slouched so that they were the same height. He patiently waited for her to speak, her words tearing at his heart. He knew the pain that the apprentice had caused her and he hated the young tom for it. But he also knew that should that tom be allowed to become a warrior before his time he could be more of a hazard then help. The tip of his tail twitched on the ground and he looked upward toward the moving trees. He had to be careful what he said otherwise she might not listen to him. He tried to recall a story his mother had told him and drew out his first few words "A long time ago there was a young apprentice. Like most apprentices he wished to be a warrior as soon as possible. He thought himself ready for everything but the mentor and leader saw otherwise. This caused problems between the mentor and apprentice, a wall had risen between the two. The mentor was ready to give up on the foolish apprentice, but that night the Medicine cat was sent a vision by Starclan. They told the mentor should he allow that cat to become a warrior now he would only live to see his second battle, but should the mentor have patience and continue to teach the apprentice he will one day become a great and wise leader." Demonshadow paused, his gave following another fallen leaf. When it had fallen on the ground he looked over at Spottedpath with a soft, understanding gaze "My mother told me that story when I was just a kit, it sounds crazy to cats who have no clan, but I would think it has plenty of meaning to a clan cat." His lips stretched into a tight smile. He wanted to cheer her up. He knew that it was wrong for her to just give up, but maybe it was for the best. It wasn't his spot to tell her so or not.

She rested her tail tip on his shoulder, "I wish I could hold him back, but that would make him even angrier. I do know, skill-wise, he will be fine. He's trained with his friends and siblings with their mentors. He obviously thought I wouldn't catch wind of his sneaking around. The only thing that worries me about him is that I'm not sure about him on how thoughtful he will be in battle. That, is his worst fault. He would leap into battle, before thinking it through. That's where I understand your story. I do know, that if I try to talk to him, it will only make him angrier, but, he also needs to hear it from me. Actually, I think giving him a bit of responsibility would help him." She thought for several heartbeats, "I've decided on what I should do. This will be his final test. If he can handle this, then, he will be ready to be a warrior." Her green eyes grew bright. This plan had to work! She truly hoped he succeded. She got up and mewed, "let's get back to camp, I want to see if this works." She padded towards the camp, making sure her friend could keep up...

His ears perked up as he cocked his head in a curious manner. He actually had a smile on his lips, thrilled that she had thought of a way to try and fix things. He practically jumped to his paws and caught up with her "What'd you have in mind?" he asked her, being careful not to pry but too excited to keep his mouth shut.
