Cars, they weren't the best mode of transportation, feet were preferable but in this case, it was the only way to get to the school. When the taxi pulled up to his customer, a blind boy wasn't what the driver had expected. He had a picture of the road he needed to go to but apart from that, he had nothing to guide him. He hadn't an idea where he was going or who was there. He only knew that it was the only place his parents had known to send him, before they disowned him that is. it was the one place where he would be out of their lives and not be considered abandonment. He didn't mind though, nothing really kept his mood down for long. It was an adventure and with his abilities, he doubted he would have much trouble finding this place. Lucas refrained from using his power while in the car, the terrain was moving too fast for him to get an accurate read on anything and made his head spin. When finally the driver pulled off to the side of the road, he looked back at his charge. Lucas waved his concern off before handing him the money that was owed. He got out of the car and took his small pack of clothing and essentials with him. His white cane made a quiet tapping sound as he searched the ground for cracks and bumps. The taxi drove off, leaving him to his thoughts. He didn't enjoy having to much time to think, especially now with his brother's dead so clear in his mind's eye. He didn't actually see the accident happen, he had felt it more than anything. His telekinesis has adapted itself to give him a sort of vision. Just as bats used sound to find obstacles, so did Lucas's power reach out and caress large objects around him. He used this now and stretched his power out as far as he could. He could faintly detect the beginning of a wall further up the road. He began to walk.
The walk had taken Lucas a few hours, though without his white cane, would have taken him much longer. the road had been even enough for his taste and the object ahead had revealed itself to be a wall with a gate stretching over the road. When Lucas reached it, he tried pushing it open. when it refused to yield, he stepped back and appraised the wall with his power. He could not find any holes to slip through and refused to walk the many hours back. He had come this far. Unfortunately for him, his power could not determine the difference between the intercom and the wall, thus leaving him without any way to contact those that where inside. Frustration began to boil over. This wouldn't be the end of his adventure, his journey. his power coiled itself within him, waiting to be released and clear a path. He had only intended to move the gates aside, to open them by putting strain on whatever lock was holding it but instead when he released the flood gate blocking his power, forced the gate doors in on themselves. The curled to their respective sides, resembling something like an insect dying and it's legs curling into its center. Lucas stood there dumb founded for a moment, not sure what to do now. The gates felt as though they'd be irreparable and he didn't particularly want to meet the wrath of whoever owned the gates. Though he had made a choice when he released his power on the gates, he wouldn't go back now and with that he crossed the threshold, his white cane ticking along the ground, power withdrawn into himself for the time being, making him truly blind.
