For centuries there have been mutants. All of them remain hidden in one way or another, few ever learned to control their powers. No one steps forward to help them…no one steps forward to save them. That is until a young, brilliant and powerful mutant comes to light during the height of the Cold War. His name is Charles Xavier. Along with several close friends he built a school for these mutants. There they could learn and live in safety. Their powers went from hindrances to their lives to living in perfect harmony with them. Many grew up to be successful men and woman in a world that was learning of the existence of the growing race. Even after his closest friend and confidant left him, Xavier didn’t stop. He wanted nothing more than a world where mutants and humans could live in peace.

Many humans couldn’t accept the fact that they were facing their own extinction. They wanted the mutants gone or contained whichever came first. Others wanted to use them for their own personal weapons. Many mutants were mistreated, killed or severely abused due to these people. It was humans like this that convinced the mutant Erik Lensherr that the human couldn’t be trusted. He knew that peace wasn’t an option despite what Charles said. Taking those mutants who felt the same Erik set out on his own forming the Brotherhood of Mutants. The extinction of the humans was going to happen much sooner then anyone believe should he have his way.

During one major battle Charles was killed by one of his own students when she lost control of her powers. After the battle the surviving X-Men were left to pick up the pieces. Many of the older members tried to continue on Charles’ dream. Rebuilding the school in a completely different place they set out to find mutants the old fashioned way. They knew they had to be quick about it. Humans were even more anti mutant then before, even going as far as to approve the building of an organization to contain the mutants. With this new foe on the horizon and still fighting the Brotherhood, what hope do the remaining X-Men have?
