Remember:
Even though this is an advice sub-forum and people post in order to seek advice, remember that it is most important to test the spirit and not to put our full trust in man (any person). We must look for answers on our own as well, and this doesn't mean it's wrong to ask for advice - it means to be careful about following advice that is given and be sure that it is the correct thing to do because we must test the spirits to determine if they are from God:
1 John 4:1 - 6 NIV:
Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world.
You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. They are from the world and therefore speak from the viewpoint of the world, and the world listens to them. We are from God, and whoever knows God listens to us; but whoever is not from God does not listen to us. This is how we recognize the Spirit of truth and the spirit of falsehood.
The Holy Bible also does tells us "Cursed is the man who trusts in man":
Jeremiah 17:5 9 NIV:
This is what the Lord says:
“Cursed is the one who trusts in man,
who draws strength from mere flesh
and whose heart turns away from the Lord.
That person will be like a bush in the wastelands;
they will not see prosperity when it comes.
They will dwell in the parched places of the desert,
in a salt land where no one lives.
“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord,
whose confidence is in him.
They will be like a tree planted by the water
that sends out its roots by the stream.
It does not fear when heat comes;
its leaves are always green.
It has no worries in a year of drought
and never fails to bear fruit.”
The heart is deceitful above all things
and beyond cure.
Who can understand it?
I am posting this as a reminder to be careful about following anyone's advice by being sure it's right in God's eyes first!
