Personality:
A bit reclusive, but definitely snarky and sarcastic. A little bit closed off from people, but it's mostly to protect them- he has an unfortunately nasty habit of accidentally hurting people, and he kind of hates it. And himself, just a little bit. He wants desperately to help people, and to make up for what he's done- even if it was an accident- but he's having a hard time learning control.

Bio:
Jack was born at the height of WWIII, as the middle of 8 children, while his father was off fighting in South America. Upon returning, he had a newfound respect for New Humans, as opposed to most of the soldiers' fear or suspicion of them. So when young Jack began displaying powerful pyrokinesis, his father wasn't a hundred percent sure what to make of it. The hazards of such a power in the hands of a child were clear, but the hazards of having such a power in the hands of anyone at all whilst living on a farm were clearer. But they made due, keeping him more or less 'cool' at all times. That is, until about the time he hit puberty.

Unfortunately, Jake was one of those kids who hit it hard. He immediately got a bad attitude, a superiority complex, and a huge appetite. He got in fights with his parents constantly, and began having a very hard time controlling his emotions. Which, in turn, led to a very hard time controlling his powers; the stronger emotions he felt, the more obvious the displays of power came, and the less stable his powers became. As he grew angrier, accidental spurts of flame became more frequent, and the like. And this only became a problem once he began to have responsibilities.

Obviously he couldn't do things like his eight siblings could; they would complain constantly about his not doing anything. He'd be working on one of the big machines, or cooking or burning something, instead of out actually helping on the farm. Then one day the second oldest child, his brother Liam, decided he didn't care if he got burnt. He was going to punch Jack in the face, because Jack never did anything. Well, that ended badly.

Basically what ended up happening was, Jack burnt down the entire farm while everyone was still there. There were no survivors, save him, and seeing as he was totally traumatized by the experience of killing his whole family, he fled and began denying it to himself. It must have been one of those villains that did it. That was the only explanation. So when he heard that the most condensed population of Numans was in New York, of course he went there- to hunt down a villain he made up to lie to himself about the fact that he killed his whole family. He knows it's a lie, of course... But it's a touchy subject as well. As long as he doesn't really talk about it too much, he can more or less keep it out of mind. Sort of.

Class: III

Pyrokinesis- Jack is able to generate and manipulate fire and thermal energy. He can generate flames with a heat nearly equivalent of a sunspot- about 6700 degrees Fahrenheit. However, he can manipulate already-existing flames with a heat far exceeding that- he's been recorded containing an explosion started by a bolt of lightning, measuring nearly 54000 degrees Fahrenheit.

Fireproof- Jack is completely immune to fire and temperature-based attacks, maintaining an internal body temperature of nearly 170 degrees Fahrenheit at all times. This can fluctuate greatly according to different variables; emotions, using his power, physical fatigue, and other various things can affect his physical body temperature. But for the most part, a side-effect of his constantly warm body temperature is an immunity to ice or cold-based attacks. He is also completely immune to fire or other thermal-based assaults; it is expected that he could withstand a nuclear explosion without much of a real problem. The pressure of the explosion is a completely different matter, of course- that would kill him easily. But the temperature? Nah. He'd be alright.

Relevant Skills:
Aside from starting fires? He's a pretty decent hunter, and knows how to live off the land. He can also use jet propulsion as a way of transportation, his fire-power literally giving him the capability of flight. This isn't technically a power, just a clever use of his already existing power.

Appearance Description/ Picture:
Jack is about 6' even, with short wiry red hair and freckles, usually found covered in ashes. He goes through clothes like there's no tomorrow, but prefers plain ol' jeans and a t-shirt when he can.
