Gaia Username: Praxius the Mad
RP Name (Include Alias if applicable): Ambrose Berardi aka Boot Hill
Gender: Male
Age: 41
Personality: The life of the Mafia, and the mindset that went with it have long since left Ambrose's life. Seeing his transformation from regular enforcer for the family to hulking, corpse-looking behemoth has left him broken in several bad ways. The respect he once held for those around him has all but gone. New Humans, in most cases, still treat him as an outsider for his artificial mutations, and Normal society won't even accept him. This existence on the outside solidified his desire for personal success, though his practicality prevents him from working completely solo at all times.
Grudges are, he feels, the only thing he holds dear, and he holds several of them at a time. Having the power he does now is something of a thrill to him, though he still resents that his status as a New Human is what ruined his otherwise good life.
Bio: In 1991 in the heart of the Mafia families of New York City, Ambrose was destined for a life in organized crime. He took to it as expected, and showed remarkable capabilities of physical resilience during the work he had to do. Always taking the hardest hits and giving the most punishment when it was necessary, Ambrose made his name as "Boot Hill" Berardi for causing the most damage to people who hurt the family.
No one ever thought much of his toughness as a superhuman ability, but as the wars began, about midway through, a head-on collision with a car while busting up an anti-Normals rally which ended with Ambrose being completely unscathed, revealed that he was, in fact, a Numan. Ashamed, he was removed almost entirely from the family, and forced to do work in the background; the days of Boot Hill Berardi, it seemed, were over. A second chance came in the form of a job his father gave to him as a way of repenting for his "condition".
The task was simple, make sure that Sarah Keller, a journalist who ran a story exposing Mafia work to the public, was taught a lesson. Ambrose's eagerness to prove himself got the better of him, and while the job was still completed, fingerprints at the scene of the attack were traced back to him. Before he was set to stand trial, the family leaving him in the cold for his foolishness, an agent of the New Human Regulation Bureau by the name of Celene Link took him on governmental pardon. Thinking himself at the lowest point in his history, Ambrose was unaware his entire life was going to become much, much worse...
Agent Link dropped him off at a research facility in Virginia, where extensive experiments in New Human genetic manipulation were being conducted. Despite only being a low-class of Numan, scientists were eager to dissect Ambrose's DNA, and even more willing to implement new genetic codes into his body. For six long years, he was their pincushion. It seemed they wouldn't stop until they had used every available resource to cause him immense pain and mutation.
The healing factors they tried to give him caused massive scarring, and seemed to give him the appearance of a pale corpse, as muscle stimulants granted him immense size. Through it all, a hate grew within Ambrose; a hate at the Normals who cast him out at the first sign of him being different. A hate to the family he'd given everything to. And most importantly, a hate for the mistakes that led him to be a lab rat. During a field test, when he was being transported to a simulation facility in Texas, Ambrose broke from his restraints and crashed the plane which carried him.
Leaving no survivors, showing no mercy, and hungry for revenge, Boot Hill Berardi made his way back to the city that had been his kingdom, his prison, and his chopping block.
Class (What class do you expect to be? Include a description of current and possible future powers- DISTINGUISH between the two):
Originally, Berardi could be considered a Class V, with only a more dense muscle structure, but years of experimentation amounted to severe mutations and advancements, to the point where he could be considered a Class III+. His abilities include:
Superhuman Strength: Berardi's body is ripping with muscle, allowing him to lift around 60 tons.
Superhuman Durability: His skin, while appearing pale, scarred, and tattered, is able to shrug off most bullets and heavier explosives.
Superhuman Stamina: The fatigue toxins are slower to react to intense physical duress, allowing for longer periods of activity. He could go approximately twenty hours without feeling so much as a sore.
Regenerative Healing Factor: A primitive, grotesque example of a healing factor; the skin, muscles, tendons, and ligaments can all be seen reforming slowly as it works. Limbs also don't regenerate, but rather must be placed next to the appropriate spot on his body to reattach.
Superhuman Leaping Ability: The muscles developed in his legs are incredibly powerful, allowing for leaps to the midpoints of tall building with ease.
Immunity to Disease and Toxins: Tranquilizers, poisons, venom, and the like have little to no effect on him, unless used in massive, massive quantities.
Relevant Skills (Anything they were taught to do that is not related to powers; i.e. hacking, cooking, survival skills, first aid, etc.): Berardi was a brawler, and skilled with using primitive weapons like crobars and baseball bats during his time as a Mafia enforcer.
Appearance Description/ Picture: Standing at nine-feet-tall, and weighing in at approximately nine-hundred and fifty pounds, Berardi is not someone to miss. Adding to the list of unusual, freakish features is that his skin is pale grey, like that of a corpse, and covered in scars. His eyes are black all around, as are his gums and nail-beds. What little remains of hair on his head is black, and he is usually wearing tattered pants (more shorts) and ripped remains of shirts.
