So, you want your character to be born special? Better than the Class V Numans, someone worth mentioning? Well, before you get ahead of yourself, we gotta make sure you're made of the right stuff. Having a powerful character requires a few certain things to ensure the optimal role playing experience for all involved; you must take great care not to abuse the power of your characters. And to help us get a better idea of just what you're capable of handling, I've designed... Something of a test for you.
Take the test by simply responding, in role play form, how your character would react to the given situation. Your replies will be graded on three criteria:
1. How well is it written? if u tlk li3k dis da hol ti3m, dnt xpekt an good scoor. Grammar, spelling, and correct use overall of the English language are expected. While your literal literacy isn't expected to be flawless, the closer it is to perfect... The better chances you have of scoring well.
2. Creativity. Do you have good ideas? Can you play the character well? Are you able to adapt to unusual situations, utilize your powers in different ways, and generally think outside of the box? These aspects make the roleplay more interesting not just for you, but for everyone else. Creative writers with powerful characters can drive a plot forward, and make the whole thing a lot more fun.
3. Responsibility. This is to avoid cases of A Wizard Did It, Hand Waves, or Phlebotinum, and to ensure you don't abuse the power given to you. All good superhero fans know the cliche- "With great power, comes great responsibility." And this still applies- if you want to be good, you gotta show me you can handle it.

The Test:For this test, the rules are simple. Respond to each prompt with a paragraph or two detailing how your character would react to the described situation. The limitations on powers are temporarily removed while filling this out; your character's potential is maximized here, so just about anything they could do at their most powerful is now possible. Just remember the criteria:
Literacy! Creativity! Responsibility!
1. Your character finds themselves in the Roman Coliseum, faced with the onslaught of six gladiators. Unarmed save their powers, they are thrust into battle with viciously trained soldiers in a fight to the death.
2. The war is over- or, more appropriately, it never happened. Your character wakes up in their bed (or a bed, if they were homeless) and realizes that they have been put in an alternate timeline... Our timeline. They retain their powers, but now must go to school or into the workforce- where they are confronted by a bully in a bad mood.
3. The planet is threatened by utter annihilation thanks to an incoming meteor the size of the moon. Your character, along with a cast of other heroes, have been boarded on a space ship and sent to destroy it before it comes (in a very similar style to that of the movie Armageddon). However, it is noted by the crew that they have enough fuel to reach a recently discovered inhabited planet- and the choice to abandon Earth must be made.
4. As some sort of sick experiment by extraterrestrials, your chararcter is abducted in their sleep and put on an alien world. Not only is it covered with hostile life forms of varying intelligence- all of which are actively pursuing your character- but the planet itself is a living organism, and thanks to you it now knows where Earth is. The oxygen supply of the planet is also dwindling steadily as it decides to move faster than light towards Earth.

Grading Scale
This is where it gets a little obscure. Basically what's going to happen is this: either the VCs or I will take a look at your response, give you a grade in each of the three criteria (scored I-V, V being the poorest quality). An average of the scores will be taken, resulting in a final score- see the example below.
If you scored:
Literacy- II Creativity- III Responsibility- IV
Total (Average) Score- III
That means your character is allowed to be anything up to and including Class III. If, however, you scored something like this:
Literacy- II Creativity-III Responsibility- II
Total (Average) Score- II-
That means your character is in the lower section of Class II mutants. There are + and - categories for each of the Classes, giving the role players a bit of wiggle room as far as actual strength goes. For example, A Class III+ character could potentially beat a Class II- character (in fact, a sufficiently skilled RPer could theoretically have a Class IV character beat a Class II character... Class is no guarantee of success). Also, a Class II+ character would be a higher-ranked threat to the government than a Class II- character, albeit by a small amount.
Also note: in the case of my absence, an on-duty VC has the power to grade these as he or she sees fit. All of the VC's (and myself) will review all scores given, and your Official Scores will be released upon this agreement. The Official Score is what your true Class will be- the scores listed by grading previous to that is more likely a guideline as to what exactly to expect.

1. Your character finds themselves in the Roman Coliseum, faced with the onslaught of six gladiators. Unarmed save their powers, they are thrust into battle with viciously trained soldiers in a fight to the death.
Out of nowhere, the roar of the crowd tore her attention from the sand beneath her feet to the armed and armored figures before her. Her head whipped around, her senses picking up everything there was to pick up. A coliseum? Really? Locks of her hair were tossed a bit haphazardly about her shoulders, which she realized readily were covered with her standard red, white, and blue tights. At least something's normal... Normal for her, at least. The gladiators before her snarled; a sound she could hear despite the distance between them, and the masks the men wore. Her nose wrinkled a little. The stench was almost unbelievable. Does no one bathe here? Oh, wait... Rome... that's right... Interrupting her thoughts, the small group of raging gladiators rushed for her; weapons high, and shouts loud.
"Alright... I'm not a fan of senseless violence..." A little smirk grew across the face of Mary Kendrick at the words. Sliding her right leg back, lowering her shoulders into a more combat-ready stance, Ultima prepped for one of her favorite moves. "But I love some physical competition..." She waited and waited, watching every detail as the group gained ground for her. Showtime... Giving a small leap into the air, Mary came down hard with her fist. Straight down into the earth, the punch sent a massive shockwave outward. Like a tidal-wave of sand and gravel, the force sent the entire squad reeling back. But there was no way she'd stop there. Rushing in her own, unmatched, speed, she brought her hands together in mid-flight; sending yet another brutal gust of the ground-covering at the dirty heathens.
The buffeting wind was enough to keep all but one of the gladiators down, but the one that stood was easily the most impressive of them all. Ripped with muscle, covered in scars, and wearing one of the traditional helms which many in her own time would liken to a diving suit-helmet, the man began moving back towards Mary with trident in hand. Her expression grew stern, and ready. Closer and closer he barreled to her, his weapon primed to strike, just before a thundering THUMP sent him careening well above the rim of the massive arena. Ultima stood, her fist in the same position it had been in to deliver the gut-punch, and breathed deeply out of her nose.
Silence had taken the crowd, as well as the fallen warriors, who merely looked on in amazement. She took a few steps forward, coming to the center of the coliseum, and looking around slowly. Once she stood before the whole of the audience, Mary lifted into the air a few feet and put her arms out, hands open. "Are you not entertained!?" She asked, her voice booming, yet light, and in perfect Latin. "Are you not entertained!? Is this not why you are here!?" The crowd did not cheer, but they didn't need to. Victory was hers.
The morning had been... odd, to say the least. For starters, she hadn't woken up in her reluctant abode in Numan City, but inside her childhood home in New York. What was stranger, her parents were still there. And they acted as if nothing was out of the ordinary. She hadn't recalled visiting them the previous night, or even sleeping for that matter. But that had only been the beginning. As she left that morning, there wasn't a word about Ultima, or New Humans, or the War. Nothing. Average bustle about the economy, and gas prices, but nothing else. It was almost as if the New Humans had never existed... and yet there she was, powers and all. Shaking it off, she had prepared for, what she hoped would appear to be a day in "normal" society.
The job offer had been simple, and direct, and seemed just perfect for her. Desk work was important to society, after all, and Mary wanted to be helpful as she could. Flying around in tights, she'd figured, would cause a lot more problems here than it would back home. It was refreshing to walk around New York without having to worry about riots or heckling for being who she was; no one knew who she was, even. Buying her business suit was such a wonderfully average experience... though she couldn't shake the feeling people were watching her the entire time. Maybe, just maybe, she had become a bit out of touch with certain aspects of regular society. Like the fact that most women who wanted to buy a suit for a desk-job weren't over six-feet-tall and made as perfectly fit in appearance as she was. Now, fully dressed, looking sharp as ever, Mary Kendrick, who would now hesitate to call herself Ultima, came to the large office building. Her first instinct was to leap into the air, and fly about the great structure a few times, but she suppressed the urge and simply walked inside.
Adjusting the glasses she wore, but didn't need, her heels clacked along at an even pace, she came to the front desk where a small redhead with her hair in a bun sat. She actually jumped a bit at the sight of Mary, before returning to a more business-like demeanor.
"Uh, hello. Welcome, how can I help you?"
"I'm Mary Kendrick," Mary introduced kindly, offering her hand to the woman, who sheepishly took it. "I called earlier about the job available on the twenty-eighth floor."
"Right... just a moment." The receptionist looked away, though glanced up several times from her computer screen to make sure she wasn't imagining the almost Amazonian woman in the lobby. After several moments of clicking, the woman looked to Mary and gave a small nod. "Head on up, Ms. Kendrick. Mister Harding is in his office on the twenty-eighth floor, if you need any help just ask someone up there; they'll point you that way."
"Thank you, Mary gave a little nod, and moved for the elevator. Pressing the button for the correct floor, she began to ponder something within herself. How long has it been since I used one of these...? She exhaled from her nose, patting down the wrinkles in her suit as she waited for the elevator to come to a stop. Clacking and sashaying between the cubicles of the well-lit, window-heavy floor, and drawing no small amount of attention from the employees, Mary found the glass office-door marked 'J. HARDING: MANAGER', and gave it a little knock. Suddenly, Mary picked up something going on just behind the frosted glass: Angry whispers, more like.
"Please, Mr. Harding..." A female voice was the first she picked up, "I... please, stop!"
"Come on, Cecilia, we talked about this..." The next voice was male, sounded gruff and old. "You know how this works..."
"Please, I... OW!" It sounded as if a hand moved to cover the mouth of the woman, Cecilia, and Mary could no longer wait. Turning the nob quickly, she stepped into the office to see an old, suit-clad man with his hands around the body of a woman in a black pantsuit with long blonde hair. The man, Mr. Harding, turned and released the woman quickly, who bolted from the room and past Mary as fast as she possibly could.
"Who're you?" Harding growled, seemingly irritated now that this unknown, statuesque, and quite physically imposing woman was the only one in the room.
"Mary Kendrick... I called about the position on this floor." Mary replied, her tone even. For now.
"You're Mary Kendrick? Hehe..." Harding replied, smiling a sickeningly pleased smile and circumnavigating his desk space to come up before Mary. "Well... my offices here are incredibly... prestigious, I would say. What makes you more qualified than, say, some other worker?"
"You'll find no harder worker, Mister Harding." Mary's voice, while still hard, driven by her disgust for the man, held a little sparkle of pride. "You have my word on that."
"So you say... fine..." Harding replied, making no game of the fact that he was looking the woman up and down. A shameless pig, if ever there was one. "Fine, fine... go to the corner room, the group there will talk to you about some training... but if you're looking for some quick ladder-climbing... you can just... shut that door." There was the grin again, and Mary did her best to contain the disgust once more.
"Which way to the corner office, Mister Harding?" She asked quickly, seemingly unaware of the insinuation he'd just made. A response which brought a hard frown from the old b*****d.
"End of these cubicles, take a right, and you'll see it..." He grumbled, giving a little motion with his head.
"Thank you. And thank you for the position." With that, Mary turned to move for her first assignment at what she hoped to be a great job. Nothing was going to stop her... until she felt the hand on her backside. Harding had done it; brought his dirty mitt right to her hind-end, and given a firm squeeze. The speed at which Mary whipped around caused a few papers to fly from the nearby desks, and she wrapped her own hand around Harding's collar tightly. There was a fire in her sky-blue eyes, and a liquid forming in Harding's pants. "That wasn't polite," Mary nearly hissed, "Or smart."
"I... uh..." Was all the protesting Harding was allowed.
"Listen to me carefully, Mister Harding," She began, her voice a hard stone. "Now that I'm here, you're going to stop chasing women, stop touching women, and stop looking at women. Do you hear me?" The man offered a quick, panicked nod, and Mary dropped him back to the floor. As she turned, moving back down the hall as if nothing had happened, she stopped. "No. Looking. Her voice was loud enough that the frightened geezer on the floor shoved the door open with his foot almost a second after she spoke. Work just became a lot easier... for a lot of people...
"NO!" Ultima shouted, her arms hanging at her sides, her eyes wide in shock and desperation. The other heroes within the craft all seemed to wince at the volume. All but one.
"Mary, I know it isn't... perfect. But there might not be a choice..." Caliber spoke calmly, his voice quiet but not resigned.
"There is always a choice!" Mary retorted, taking a step for the man. Everyone knew she wouldn't actually lay a hand on anyone; but the thought of a New Human the capability she had getting near you in anger was one they couldn't shake. "If this is the one you all are making, I... you can't call yourselves heroes..." Everyone, save for Caliber, seemed resigned to her words.
"We're not all like you, Mary..." He continued, taking a step for her, "We have survival needs. We have limits... and you can't throw us to the cold when there's nothing we can do for Earth." His words hung in the air, cold. No one spoke for several moments, Mary's huffing in anger the only sound. "There's just nothing more we can do..."
"Wrong." Mary said simply, and with a conviction most would never hear from her. "There is something I can do." Already, without explanation, she moved for the release chamber that would lead to the vacuum of space outside. "Patrick, open the door."
"Mary... you can't be serious..." Caliber breathed, his own crossed arms falling to his sides.
"I am. Open the door." She didn't look back to him, or any of them. They knew what she was planning, but no one was sure it would work, nor if she would even survive. But no one believed she would allow herself to fail. Or die. Caliber moved for the controls, and she took her steps into the chamber to await release. There was a stillness in the hull of the ship now. A stoic, retrospective moment for all the heroes on-board. All but one. Mary had no time for looking back; she had to save her planet, and there was no one but her to do it. The release locked behind her, and suddenly the vast vacuum of space was the only thing to greet her and goad her forward. From the ship, she launched outward; barreling through space at neat light-speed, on-course for her home. It felt like so long ago they'd left, and now she was finally returning. She only hoped she wasn't too late.
As she neared Earth, her eyes widened; the meteor was still on its way for the planet, and getting closer by the second. Fire would begin dancing along the sides of the rock, and by that time, she figured, it would be too late. Picking up more and more speed, Mary drove harder and harder for the moon-sized object, trying to formulate some kind of plan before she reached it. Likely, she'd only have one chance. It would have to count. Nearing the space-rock, it became clear she couldn't simply force it back into space; the speed at which it was traveling would give it sufficient force to keep her strength at bay. For a moment, she considered keeping her back to the rock forever; preventing the cataclysm at the cost of her future. But that would've been futile as well. The size of the meteor was too large to risk keeping anywhere near Earth. She needed a plan, or some semblance of one, and fast.
Finally, it was the moment of truth. Speeding ahead, the rock was before her, and with it the fate of mankind as a whole. This has got to work... Now at her top speed, Mary flew in a giant U-shape around the circumference of the meteor; trying to use her immense speed to steer the course of the object away from the gravity of the planet. Once, twice, three times and gaining speed with each revolution, she became a red blur around the hunk of minerals. After what seemed like an hour, though it was more of a matter of moments, she began to notice that the meteor was, in fact, begin to revolve. Slowly at first, reluctant to avert the destruction, it was no longer barreling for the planet below. But she couldn't give up there. Not when it was so close to so many lives. She went harder, faster, keeping the thing contained in her self-made containment field of speed. Finally, the rock was no longer moving forward, but actually backward, away from the planet. Mary kept up the pace, trying to get the thing as far away as physically possible with the limited time she felt she possessed. Soon enough, the meteor, and its red, speeding ring, were driving away from Earth, and back into deep space. A wide grin drew across her face; she couldn't see exactly at the speed she was moving, but something was definitely working. The planet, it seemed, was safe. Mary didn't stop, and kept the rock spinning for several hours until, upon slowing to a halt and leaving the meteor on a course of a gas giant, she could no longer even see Earth. Sighing with relief, she began another rapid flight back to the ship she'd left with the other heroes. They'd see she was right now; but that didn't matter. What mattered was that the Earth was safe, and no one had to make the decision to abandon it.
4. As some sort of sick experiment by extraterrestrials, your character is abducted in their sleep and put on an alien world. Not only is it covered with hostile life forms of varying intelligence- all of which are actively pursuing your character- but the planet itself is a living organism, and thanks to you it now knows where Earth is. The oxygen supply of the planet is also dwindling steadily as it decides to move faster than light towards Earth.

This was... Enjoyable.
Literacy- I
I was hard-pressed to find any grammatical or spelling errors throughout. Your literacy is nigh-impeccable, my good sir.
Creativity- II
Overall, it was great, despite there being some points I found... A bit lacking, as opposed to what I expected. The gladiator battle had some cliche'd moves (I mean really, you went from the Hulk-Smash style ground shockwave to the air-clap thing. Cool, but I've seen it quite a few times before). The office 'bully' was certainly different, and handled well- and the planetary doom style asteroid was done superbly. I honestly never would have thought of that idea. Well done.
Responsibility- II
Another point I found to be to my liking. While you didn't give the gladiators much of a chance to do anything, let's be honest- it's not like they really did, anyway. So I can understand on that point, however the "Flawless Victory' style way in which you pretty much owned their sorry asses was a bit... Well, it was slightly overkill. The bully was handled well- you didn't use your powers (not really) the entire time, despite thinking it over a few times. And the asteroid- part of me wants to say this is the best part of the whole thing. You outright admitted you weren't strong enough to stop a moon-sized object from space, and instead found another way to handle it- that's the way it's done, my man.
Total (Average) Score- II+
Congratulations!

Dear lord I hated the final prompt! I just couldn't think of anything in character for Dylan to do keeping in mind she's super inexperienced. Well, here's my test. Prompt 1 1. Your character finds themselves in the Roman Coliseum, faced with the onslaught of six gladiators. Unarmed save their powers, they are thrust into battle with viciously trained soldiers in a fight to the death. Was that cheering that she heard? Dylan felt sand beneath her body and warm sunshine on her face. Her vision came swimming back into focus only to be greeted with an unfamiliar and unusual sight: the interior of what looked to be a Roman arena. Looked, she thought, because this could not possibly be the Roman Coliseum. She took a deep breath and pushed herself into an upright position to get a better look at her surroundings. From said new position it was possible to see two others nearby chained by the ankles to large wooden posts in the exact same fashion that she was chained to a single post. When she twisted around she found motivation to scramble to her feet. There were six armed men -- six armed gladiators! -- advancing upon the three of them and suddenly it did not feel like just a dream anymore. Dylan held her hands up and called out to them, “Wait, I don’t want to fight you!” If they understood her none of them showed it. She looked towards the prisoner to the right of where she stood to see what he was doing. The man was at least going to put up a fight as indicated by his raised fists. Dylan turned back to her own gladiator problem. The closest one was armed with a small wooden shield and roughly forged gladius. The second closest one to her bore a trident and thick net. Both gladiators wore helmets that obscured their faces and various pieces of leather armor for protection which was certainly more than what the three prisoners were given. Dylan was the most protected because she was wearing her costume, but even that wouldn’t stop a sword! She jumped back as the first gladiator brought his sword down on her in a sweeping arc. Instinctively she raised a small frontal forcefield to stop any further attacks. “I don’t want to fight you!” Dylan yelled over the crowd. It was then that she heard an agonizing cry of pain that pulled her attention away from the gladiators she was trying to avoid fighting. Dylan had turned just in time to see one of the other gladiators walk up to the downed prisoner and, with the crowd’s approval, spear him through the chest. Her scream of indignation was drowned out by the enthusiastic applause from the crowd. Her own gladiator opponents took advantage of the girl’s distraction. Without a forcefield to protect her the gladiator with the net tossed it at her. The net was heavier than it looked, thought a confused Dylan now down on her knees. She twisted her body and stuck her right arm out at an odd angle behind her. A moment later the gladiator who had thrown the net shouted as he took a sun bolt directly in the face and was knocked clean off his feet. He thrashed on the ground desperately trying to unbuckle his smoldering helmet as he screamed. The other gladiator froze long enough for Dylan to free herself from the net. The girl was crawling out from underneath it when he started for her again. He stabbed down, she rolled on her side towards him, when she stopped she was on her back at his feet her right hand raised. The next thing the gladiator knew he was sailing through the air before crashing into the ground. Dylan’s side stung as she scrambled to her feet. It was a shallow wound, one she could afford to ignore until the danger had passed; and while the two gladiators would need to be treated for burns they would live to fight another day. A shout for help from the other prisoner caught her attention. Dylan started for him, realised she was still chained to the post, and found herself eating sand. She swore loudly in Japanese and used a sun bolt to melt the iron chain in one hit. Quickly Dylan took to the air to cross the distance between her and the remaining prisoner in a matter of seconds. There was a shower of bolts and two more gladiators were down for the count. The prisoner looked up at her as if he was unsure whether or not to be afraid of her too. Was she sent by the gods? Was she a heathen witch? When Dylan melted his iron chain and freed him, the prisoner found himself no longer caring who sent her. Dylan probably wouldn't have been able to understand the words he spoke to her even if she could have heard him over the crowd. She did, however, understand that he was pointing to an exit on the opposite side of the arena passed the fallen prisoner. The two of them raced towards that doorway and towards freedom with Dylan leading the charge. Another shower of sun bolts made short work of the last two gladiators. It felt a bit like she had cheated by bringing a "gun" to a sword fight. Speaking of ethics, when they reached the fallen prisoner Dylan stopped and dropped down to check on him. For a moment she thought he was alive only to find he had died with his eyes open looking skyward. “I’m sorry,” she whispered and closed his eyes with one hand. The other prisoner tugged on her arm and urged her to keep going. There was no time to stop and mourn or second guess her actions, not when freedom was so close. They were racing again towards freedom when a sharp pain raced up her spine. Dylan fell to the ground and just before her vision went dark she thought she saw what looked like a tendril snake by her... Prompt 2 2. A sudden gasp of air, a roll and fight with bindings, then a hard THUD! That was how Dylan woke up on the floor staring up at the ceiling of her bedroom. She kicked away her blankets, somehow she had mistaken them for something else, and sat up as someone knocked on her door. Riku, her younger brother (only by four months) opened the door and poked his head in. He was still dressed in his pajamas with a toothbrush sticking out of his mouth and a serious case of bedhead. “Whar yow wohkay?” Riku asked toothbrush still in his mouth. “H-Hai,” she responded. She told him it had been a strange dream nothing more and he left her to finish getting ready for the day. Dylan did her best to shake off the feeling the dream about the gladiators had left her with. She got dressed, made her bed, and headed into the bathroom to finish getting ready. Dylan reached for her toothpaste, but winced in pain and watched as the tube slip off the counter onto the ground. In the mirror Dylan checked her side half expecting to find the cut the gladiator’s sword had left on her. There was nothing there. Dylan finished getting ready for the day and walked to school with her siblings. All day long she felt out of it, like something was wrong and she couldn’t quite put her finger on it. At lunch she took a step outside to get some fresh air. The girl leaned against the railing and watched cars drive by from across the basketball courts. She was pulled from her thoughts by strange sounds coming from around the corner. Her curiosity was strong enough to make her go investigate the source. Bobby, one of many school bullies, had found some poor soul to prey upon. Dylan started towards the two of them, though really, she was not much bigger than the boy that was Bobby’s current victim. “Hey! Hey, leave him alone, Bobby!” Dylan came between them. “Or what huh?” Bobby got up in Dylan’s face, a typical response. She couldn’t help but laugh a little on the inside when he buffed out his chest at her. She was nearly a foot shorter than him! The advantage she had that others did not was, besides her super powers, having known Bobby since grade school. She knew why he was so disgruntled. “Come on, Robert,” she used his real name, “Would you drop the act already? I still remember Mister Greco’s class. There’s no way your dad would have been okay with you acting like this. He wouldn't have wanted his son to be a bully.”Bobby’s face flushed as she spoke. He shoved her hard knocking her off of her feet onto the ground next to the boy. “Don’t you ever talk about my dad again, Dylan!” Bobby yelled and stormed off. Dylan thought she had seen tears in his eyes, but thought it best never to mention it to anyone. She rubbed the back of her head as she sat back up. “Are you okay?” the boy asked and he offered her a hand. “That was um, pretty brave I guess. I’m Philip. What’s your name?”The girl gladly accepted his help getting her back up on her feet. She told him, “Thanks. I’m Dylan and that wasn’t brave that was stupid. Bobby’s not a bad kid though, he’s just... angry. Normally he picks on Newmen though ‘cause of what happened with his dad.”“Newmen? What’s a ‘Newmen’?” Philip looked at Dylan and she looked back at him both equally confused by what the other had said. There was a sudden sharp pain along her spine and Dylan felt herself slip from consciousness again... Prompt 3 3. “Nova? Nova are you listening?”Dylan jerked her head up with a look of absolute bewilderment on her face. She was on... a spaceship?! “I, um,” she winced and touched a hand to her head. That’s right, she was on the UNS Mandela as a part of a team of ten Newmans and five humans. They were on a mission to save their home from a hunk of rock that wanted to occupy the same point in space as the Earth. “Sorry, Havoc, but what were you saying?”“There’s talk about taking up the offer. What were your thoughts?” Havoc asked in a hushed voice. “It’s a nice offer,” she said, “But we’ve already got a home. It might be a dump compared to Genisus, but it’s our home. Everyone’s counting on us. Besides I’m sure Richie Rich put a fail safe device in this ship.”“That’s rather cynical of you,” he frowned. “I don’t know, I just don’t trust that guy. He’s never been mean to me or anything so I can’t really explain why I don’t like him,” she shrugged before pushing aside her oatmeal, “Hey have you been having weird dreams?”Havoc looked up from his oatmeal, “Hm? Yeah, dreamt I was back in high school last night. It’s a side effect of the enhancers. Even us Newmen need a little boost if we’re going to succeed.”Dylan let out a heavy sigh. At least the dreams were normal. The rest of her day was uneventful. The only difference from the day before was that night the doctor gave her a sleep aid. She felt groggier the next morning, but a dreamless night’s rest made it a worthwhile trade. The girl was sitting in the briefing room trying to pay attention to the plan Commander Michaelson was laying out for them. Dylan grasped the basics, sure, but beyond that? It turned her brain into mush. The mission was a go and Michaelson was wishing them all “Godspeed” now. Dylan felt a little swept up in the mad dash. She barely remembered Havoc telling her to stick close as the two of them suited up. The next five hours ran together as if someone had hit the fast forward button by mistake. Events happened out of order and Dylan knew something was wrong. This time when unconsciousness tried to take her she pushed through until she saw light again... Prompt 4 4. When Dylan woke up this time she knew she was actually awake. Leech ended tendrils were wrapped around her limbs and neck. That was how they had been distorting her mind. Dylan was done playing nice and so was Novaflare. “Through darkest day... fearful night...”The tendrils wiggles and tightened threatening to cut off her air supply. “...let hope shine...light!”They had made the mistake of letting Novaflare stay in direct sunlight. The expression “lit up like a Christmas tree” would have been an understatement for how brightly she shined. The only thing on her body that retained its original color was the teal starburst insignia across her chest. The rest of her body and clothing became a liquid mosaic of yellow, orange, blue, green, and every color in between. The heat her body gave off made the tendrils release her. She didn't see where they withdrew to so she decided to hover over the ground for now. With the tendrils gone she had a moment to take in her surroundings. She called out for her teammates although her bizarre surroundings showed no sign of them. The events leading up to her capture started to come back to her. They had landed on what they thought was an asteroid. The mission was going according to plan, then the drill machines hit something organic encased beneath the surface. The events that followed that startling discovery were still fuzzy to her. Novaflare searched for any sign of her comrades and was careful to avoid any more tendrils during her search. She found a spot to land after her search turned up no sign of her friends. From where she stood she could see the Earth. It looked so beautiful and peaceful; a sunset in space was truly unlike anything Novaflare had seen before in her life. “I... I don’t know what to do,” she admitted to the emptiness around her. She couldn't save the Earth by herself and there was no one left to help her. There was a sharp pain along her spine and Novaflare fell to the ground.

Yet another enjoyable test. Well done.
Literacy- I
I'm glad to see that literacy isn't dead yet. Keep it up!
Creativity- III
It was definitely interesting, and it certainly was well-written, but... The scenarios didn't particularly play out in any particularly spectacular way. While I certainly found it interesting that you found a way to tie all the scenarios together, that was pretty much the only thing I didn't really see coming. I know that the prompts kind of narrowed down stuff and it's a bit odd writing like that, so good job. I look forward to reading your stuff.
Responsibility- II
You pulled this off spectacularly. You didn't overpower yourself, admitted pretty much outright that your character was a bit of a nooblet, and stayed completely within the realm of possibility. Good job!
Total (Average) Score- II
Congratulations!

1. Your character finds themselves in the Roman Coliseum, faced with the onslaught of six gladiators. Unarmed save their powers, they are thrust into battle with viciously trained soldiers in a fight to the death.
A frown crossed Aybra's face as she glanced at her surroundings. This was new and different. The entire landscape seemed done in gold, brown, and tan, from the sandy brown walls of the Coliseum to the bronze armor the gladiators wore, to the mess of brown, white, and gold in the stands. She herself looked ridiculously out of place, as she was wearing modern clothes, her hair was a crimson red, and she was pale and freckled, unlike all of the tan skin around her. It took a moment for the gladiators to get over the shock of just how different she seemed, but when they had adjusted, they all came at her. Aybra took off at a sprint, trying hard to avoid those swords. She needed time to think, to do something that didn't require gutting all of these people. Suddenly, she stopped and called down a bolt of lightening, which landed inches from the nearest gladiator's feet. The air was filled with static and the smell of electricity. Taking advantage of the shock in the stands, she yelled "I am Aybra, daughter of Jupiter! Spare me, or incur my father's wrath!" She only hoped it would translate. Almost immediately afterward, the gladiators kneeled at her feet, seeing her as a child of the gods. Though the spectators seemed more hesitant, Aybra knew she would live well here.
The first thing Aybra saw as she opened her eyes was a bright flash of light. The surface she had been sleeping on was rough, and the air smelled musty and still. She blinked once, obviously confused, but once she sat up, all became clear. The door to the tiny room was barred, as well as the window, and it was fitted with only a toilet and a sink beside her bed. Outside the door, she could see guards pacing, and beyond that, people locked in cells identical to her's. Aybra had been in jail before, earlier in her career when she had actually gotten caught with illegal information and breaking into places. She had been stupid then, but she wasn't stupid now. Nowadays she never got caught, and even if she did, she knew how to handle it. This was unheard of. She stood up, looking around and out. Other people seemed agitated, but obviously for different reasons. Aybra thought back. Yesterday, she had a day of staying under the radar, for the most part, moving across the country and falling asleep in the hotel room. She wasn't wanted in any country at this point, mostly because she'd either manually cleared her record on online databases or done favors for them, and the span of one night, while she was still unconscious, wasn't long enough for a trial and conviction. Something wasn't right. She walked up to the bars, staring out for a moment before she looked around. Judging by the uniforms, both the guards' and the prisoners', she was in the United States. What state, she wasn't sure. Just as a guard began to pass, Aybra spoke. "How long have I been in here?" At least she could overrule amnesia. The guard seemed confused, but replied "Seven months, give or take." Or not. Had she really forgotten that much? Why had she forgotten? What had happened? "What put me in here?" She asked, hesitantly. "You think I know? I don't keep your records, I just watch ya!" He laughed, walking on. Aybra sighed, sitting against the wall. She didn't know how long she sat there, going over everything she knew might've happened, but when she finally was jerked back into reality, a female guard stood at the door to her cell, looking angry. "Are you deaf or something? I told you that it's your recreation time. Get out of your cell, now." The hacker blinked, but got up after a moment, then let the guard escort her outside. The yard where the other prisoners stood was small, but there was at least information to be found. The guard had barely left her side when Aybra was practically bombarded by a large, bulky guy, incredibly muscular and none too happy with her. She was poised to run, but she realized that she was already standing against a wall and was in no position to. "Do you have the codes?" Now that was surprising. That sentence had been uttered to her plenty of times before, but not in this position. "What codes?" His frown deepened. "Don't play stupid with me! You promised me you'd have them today! You said you're good with electricity, right?" "Yeah, but-" "Then you should tell me what they are! You know what'll happen if you don't!" "No, I really don't. I-" Aybra began to look around, and he stepped closer to her. No one seemed to care about what was happening. She was all alone in this. "You knew exactly what you were getting into, little girl, and you know what happens to people who fail me." Aybra was about to point out many flaws about what he was about to do- probably that he would be put on the line for the death sentence- but before she could, he grabbed her upper arm and put a hand over her mouth, pinning her against the wall. She looked out at all the people across the recreation area, but they were otherwise occupied, and the guards couldn't see through the throng of people. She was alone. In desperation, Aybra tried to kick at him and beat him with her spare arm, but the hand clamped on her mouth found its way to her neck, and he began to choke her. Aybra kicked harder, and she finally clamped her hand around his arm, forcing electricity through his body. The pressure on her neck weakened as he fell, and when he was below her, spasming and about to fall unconscious, she ran, ran as far as possible from the body.
Aybra raised an eyebrow at the rest of the crew, her eyes sweeping across all of their faces, one by one, until she settled upon the last one. "And you all agree on this?" Her tone was uncertain, and definitely judging, but she herself looked simply baffled. "Yes, we have." The girl on the opposite end of the table answered, looking sure of herself. Aybra had already decided that she didn't like the blonde, but the smug look she was giving her wasn't helping. Aybra stood up and crossed her arms, saying "You're sure?" The other girl rolled her eyes. "Yes, for the third time, we are absolutely sure of what we decided. The human race needs to start over." Aybra was fuming on the inside, but she didn't let it out just yet. "So, you've decided to let billions of people die, just because you've found a hunk of rock that isn't doomed at the moment where we'll start an entirely new human race that, by the way, with only the six of us, will become so inbred that we'll probably die anyways, plus we have no clue about the ecology there and whether it will ever support us. Is that what you're saying?" The blonde grew pale, but she still responded with a firm yes. Aybra sighed, seeing that the rest of the crew was nodding in agreement. "Fine. Go there. See if I care." With that, Aybra left the table angrily, not bothering to look back at the people staring at her. She knew what she had to do, and she would be stupid to not do it. She all but ran to the control room, and immediately sat down, using a mix of her powers and her hacking skills to change the coordinates as to where they were going to go, and then made sure no one could reverse her changes. If earth was going to die, they were going to die with them. Aybra smiled a little as the ship jerked into a stop, beginning to turn around. She remained in her chair, staring at the door. Any moment, the door would burst open. "Aybra!" The hacker grinned as the blonde, Enyo, she went by, walked into the room and gave her a look of hate. "Turn the ship around!" "And why should I do that?" "You've doomed us all!" "Nope. I gave everyone else a fighting chance. You doomed them, Enyo." Enyo stared, seething, but said nothing until the others arrived behind her. "Fine. We'll do our best to save the planet." Aybra grinned. Her work here was done.
The thumping of footsteps could be heard on the green forest floor as the girl ran. She ran faster than she ever had, feeling her throat burn, her lungs heave, even as the surge of raw adrenaline ran through her. Behind her came a pack of almost humanoid beings, similar to mythical centaurs in shape, but as far as possible from any earthly creature. The air surrounding them was freezing, well below zero, and Aybra struggled to keep herself warm. She ran as far as her legs would take her and more so, and only stopped when she finally collapsed. She landed on her hands and knees, staring at the mossy ground below her. Tears glistened at the corners of her eyes, and slowly began to patter against the forest floor. The sound of padded feet against stone grew as her pursuers grew closer and closer. 'So this is the end,' Aybra thought as she tried to get up again. She got as far as standing, but her legs were worn and tired and her feet couldn't hold her. The second time she fell, her hand got caught in a hole between the stones. A wave of pain rolled through her as she tried to pull it out, and she finally resigned to herself. She would die here. This she knew. She saw her pursuers in the distance now, close, weaving their way through the stones to finally reach her. Nothing was left to do. Nothing was left to try. She could do nothing now. Death was upon her. Then a strange feeling ran through her. She tried to pinpoint the origin of it, and found it. It was her trapped hand, between the stones. Her realization hit her in the span of a moment. Time seemed to slow down. The stone below her wasn't stone. It was skin, and the strange feeling she felt was electricity, the source of her power, and it wasn't just electricity, it was an entire planet crying out in rage. She felt the entire network of thought and communication playing out beneath her, all the thoughts and feelings rushing to her head at once. In that moment, it knew everything she thought and she knew everything it thought. Her tears dried. She knew exactly what to do, even if she knew the cost. A final emotion surged through the planet, but Aybra disregarded it for the moment. She had to do that she had to do. Every life on earth was in the balance. Aybra pulled all the electricity from the thoughts of the planet into her, feeling the raw power, then threw it onto her pursuers, killing them and killing the planet in one move. The planet no longer thought and the vital systems that kept it alive died within seconds. Her pursuers were electrocuted. She felt the planet slow down, pulled by gravity. Aybra looked around her, felt the sudden silence, and began to cry. The final thought of the dying planet rang clear in her mind. The thought was of fear. She made it die in fear. And she knew that she would die here now, all alone. The thought made her cry.

Literacy- II
Better than a lot of things I've seen on Gaia, but there's room for improvement.
Creativity- II
I like the Gladiator bit, claiming to be the child of a god- certainly an unorthodox way of handling that. Good one. Try to think of stuff like that, all the time.
Responsibility- III
You remained within the realm of possibility almost throughout the entire thing- the only part that wasn't in the realm of possibility, however, was outright, blatantly, impossibly and ridiculously crazy. She killed an entire planet, and every living thing on it, by absorbing all of its bio-electricity? That's... Just a tad much, if I do say so myself. And I do. I really, really do.
Other than that, good job!
