In the world of Numans, there are different 'classifications' as far as the strength of power goes. They are listed as below:

Class VI: No powers. You're just a Normal. If you have no powers, even if you're an Olympic athlete or an astronaut, you're Class VI.

Class V: Minimalistic powers, control, or both. Perhaps you can read minds, but have no control and thus have thoughts constantly barging into your head; that's a Class V. Can be useful on occasion, but can also be dangerous sometimes- for you and others.

Class IV: Slightly stronger, or more control. Continuing with the example of reading minds, you can now block out thoughts from certain people with enough focus. With enough training and practice, becoming a Class IV is pretty simple- some are even born on this level.

Class III: Becoming proficient. Our mind-reading friend can now pick and choose his or her targets of mind-reading, dig around to find certain thoughts or memories, and maybe even- with enough effort and luck- be able to make them forget those memories. While it is possible to naturally be on this level, most who attain this do so through training and hard work. This is the most common level for most Numans to be at- especially those who go into the hero-ing business.

Class II: Development of new powers that supplement the first. The mind-reader now finds him or herself able to project her own thoughts into people's heads and communicate via telepathy, easily find specific memories or thoughts from one's mind, block memories and influence thoughts, disrupt their perception and senses, and even 'take control' of their mind for a brief period. This is the highest level many Numans reach, if only because at this level they become a high enough threat that the government actively seeks them out to kill.

Class I: Complete mastery. Few Numans ever reach this level, even if they manage to go unnoticed by the government. In the case of our mind-reading friend, he or she is able to do all the things s/he could do before, on several people simultaneously- in a much farther range than before, perhaps even globally. There are still limits, obviously, but they may not be immediately apparent; the ones who reach this level are among the most dangerous people known to mankind.

For Numans:

As stated in the previous post, it is possible for Numans to 'rank up,' or become more powerful. Whether this is due to simple practice and hard work- like exercise for muscles- or actual evolution and further mutation of the genes, is currently unknown. However, the process for "Leveling Up" will be described below.

There are a few ways to "Level Up" to the next class. Here they are:

1. Crowning Moments of Awesome. If you have yourself a moment of pretty much indescribably epic coolness double-dipped in awesomesauce, and it's noticed by the VC's or myself, you'll get yourself an Awesome Point. Five Awesome Points are redeemable for one level, with an additional one point needed per level. To keep track of Awesome Points, just check back on your Character Profile from time to time- a VC or myself will post and quote you saying something about how you've gained an Awesome Point.

2. Participating in RP Events. If a guild-wide story arc happens and you actively participate for the majority of the time, you will be rewarded at the end in Awesome Points. The more important of a role you play, the more Awesome Points you stand to gain- with a max of whatever it takes for you to rank-up next.

3. While it's not technically 'Leveling Up," per say, it is possible for a character to be 'born' into a certain class above Class V. For this to happen, one must participate in a "Literacy Test" with the character they want to be 'born' into another class. You can opt out of the test if you are okay with being a Class V Numan, or a Normal. If you do take the test for a specific character, however, you'll get whatever class you're judged to be by your responses. In responding to the questions, you are allowed to act as a Class N: more or less, a god-like figure with the maximum potential of your powers. Depending on three things- the grammatical correctness, the creativity, and the responsibility of your responses will determine how you are judged. It will be on a scale from I to V, with the VC's and I each giving you a score in each of the areas. The averages of each of the scores individually between us will be taken, and then the total average of those figures will become your score. And we will not round up, we will round down. Sorry, that's just the way it is.

4. Missions! You can make your own mission in the aptly named subforum, and get people to join with you in any number of awesome things. Whichever 'team' wins the mission gets a reward- usually Awesome Points!

For Normals:

Things for Normals aren't quite the same. Seeing as Normals are pretty much stuck on Class VI, they won't be 'ranking up,' per say... They'll be using aforementioned Awesome Points to add relevant skills and gadgets/gizmos to their character's repertoire of goodies. Say for example, your character knows jiu jitsu. Got enough Awesome Points? Now you can learn another fighting style you might have 'forgotten to mention' in your character outline. While this technically doesn't do you much good if you can't roleplay a good fistfight, it'll make your character more impressive in the scheme of things and perhaps you can just say they used their newfound skills to make it past a couple of Mooks with relative ease if they were having trouble before. You get what I'm saying, though.

Or maybe you're a gadgeteer, relying on wacky toys and gizmos to get you out of various situations. Well, the bad news is- you have to make a solid list of the ones you have readily available. The good news is, with enough Awesome Points you can add to that list indefinitely- within reason, of course. I'll allow some things, like maybe you make a laser gun or something. Okay, that's cool. But a quantum matter displacer capable of erasing the sun itself? I don't think so, bro. This way, Normals have the potential to 'level up' as well. Just make sure you're using the leash I'm giving you here responsibly- don't choke me with it.

One Last Thing! If, at all for any reason, you decide you want your Normal character to 'spontaneously mutate' or some such bull and become a Numan... I'll let it happen. For a price. If you so decide that you want your Normal to go Numan, it's going to cost a whopping 15 Awesome Points and you'll have to have your power approved by a VC or myself. Then you'll edit in the newest addition to their profile, and make it GLARINGLY OBVIOUS that it was added in. As in, make it a different color and bold, or something.
