Breeding Information Applying for a breeding --- If your characters are ready for the responsibility of little ones (or you think they need more drama in their lives) you may post for a breeding when the slots are open in a colorist's thread or when a CC thread is up. The title of the thread will tell you all.
Ex: ColoristName's Breeding Thread (Open/Closed)
--- You must post links to threads in the guild of at least three complete roleplays done by each parent who is breeding. If this is not a breeding with an NPC father then at least one of these roleplays must be between the two characters to establish that they have met.
- All regular breeding rps must be at least 10 posts long (5 per character). Colorists description may say if a roleplay is still 'too short'. If you have five posts each, but only one sentence for each post, it is too short. - All self-rps submitted for breeding must be 1000 words minimum. You can use two characters as though it were a regular roleplay and post back and forth, do it as a story form, or whatever you should so choose.
--- Breedings in Mere Myths cost 16k total. Each parent's owner may send in 8k, one may pay for the whole thing, or however you would like to divide it provided 16k gets sent to the mule. Please label the trade: " ColoristName breeding fee " When the babies are done and sent to the parents, the trade will be accepted. When all the stages of the offsprings' growth have been completed the payment will be forwarded to the colorist. This is to ensure the offspring are 'grown' properly on time, and prevent colorists from taking on more work then they can handle responsibly.
- If only one offspring is rolled from a breeding, the fee is cut to 8k
--- Each time you breed your character you need to use entirely new roleplays. You cannot use any roleplay from the breeding before. A good way to keep track is to mark previously used roleplays in your journal so as to avoid confusion later.
--- Activity bonus time! If each parent sends in seven roleplays instead of three an additional child will be added to the total roll of the litter. Again, roleplays may not be reused for other breedings.
--- The number of offspring are rolled either in the staff subforum or in the colorist's breeding thread. Gender is determined randomly by diceroll, and any mixed traits (a centaur has hybrid children with a cervitaur, which tail/antlers, etc) are determined also by chance. The more common traits are more likely to 'win' in a crossbreed.

Who can apply for a breeding? --- Only the 'taurs may produce offspring at the time. If another 'main' race is integrated into the shop this may change. 'taurs may not have biological families with humans (and finding a human with interest in adopting should be nearly impossible). Any species of 'taur can mix with another species of 'taur. - If you have human characters that wish to have a family, you are more than welcome to do that, however, humans have no shop lines. You may do this as you choose. - Cats may not breed, however, if you desperately want to play with 'kittens' for your favorite pair of kitties, you may use both parents as references for a custom as a mock-breeding. - Use your head. A captured pitfighter 'taur is not likely to meet a feral 'taur. To get an idea of what might make sense roleplay-wise look over the Status and Species information thread. There can always be more complicated situations, but not everyone can do it, and if we get fifty really stretched romance stories there will have to be lines drawn.
--- A male may breed at any time that he has enough roleplays for it.
--- A female must wait until her current children are adolescents before she may breed again.
--- A female may, if you wish, breed with a random NPC male. In this case only three roleplays are needed for her, and she does not need to 'meet' the other character. - The father's traits will be determined by the colorist and (barring some special metaplotish events) will always be of the same race as the female. - Breeding with a NPC produces one less offspring. So if a female centaur had children with an NPC male, instead of rolling 2-3 offspring, there would be 1-2. A breeding will never produce less than 1 offspring. - The seven roleplays for an extra child still apply, if your female NPC breeds and offers up seven roleplays she is still granted the extra child.
--- All hybrids may breed. When determining which species they are for the breeding roll, the lower roll is chosen. So if a half-centaur, half-unitaur were to apply for a breeding, their roll would be the Unitaur's 1-2 as opposed to the 2-3 a full-blooded Centaur would make.
--- All 'taur species of Mere Myths may breed. When determining the breeding roll, the lower roll is chosen. So if a Centaur and an Unitaur were to produce offspring, the dice roll would be 1-2 as follows the Unitaur's standard roll.

Special Breeding Things
On the form it lists options for other things. Basic breedings take the father's traits and the mother's traits and mix them for offspring traits.
--- If your characters are second-generation or more, you may give permission to use 'throwbacks' in their breeding. Colors and markings may then be taken from your character's parents or full siblings as well.
--- If you're not opposed to new things, you may agree to have 'random' traits added to the breeding. These are, presumably, markings and colors that are floating about somewhere in the family tree. - a female who NPC breeds automatically receives 'random' traits due to the unknown father.
--- Potions! If you purchased a magical potion to alter something about your 'taur's offspring, be sure to include this in the breeding. Potions can change colors, add markings, or any number of things. Most potions clearly state what they can do, others are a mystery...

The Arrival of Babies!
--- Yup the best part I'm sure. The offspring are PMed to both parents when they are completed. Both parents discuss who keeps which baby, and if there is an extra who they want to give it to. When all the needed information is gathered one parent posts it in the colorist's certing thread.
--- You may only ever keep three of a character's offspring, and may not keep more than one from each breeding. If you have three offspring from Character A, you may never keep another one no matter how many more times Character A breeds. - If you breed your Character B with your Character C and keep an offspring from that litter, it counts for both parents. For instance, if you breed Character A, whom you have three offspring from, with your Character C, whom you've never bred before, you may not keep a child because you already kept all of Character A's.
--- You may NOT sell any of the offspring, or do pet trades with them, or anything else. You may give them away for free to friends or newbies. If you cannot decide upon a person to give them to, you may hold a free contest (roleplay contest, raffle, whatever) to find them an owner. If you cannot work it out on your own, PM the shop and we'll rehome it for you in a thread event. HOWEVER. If this is the case, be aware that it is still a member of your character's family and you may have to interact with whomever wins.
--- If you only want one baby for a plot, you may ask that the colorist not roll for number of offspring as you only want one
- This cannot be applied to guaranteeing two (unless in a centaur breeding where the base is 2-3) or more. It may only apply to the minimum your character can be rolled.
