'Status' terms - these go on the certs and indicate the lifestyle your character is a part of.
Human Influenced - These status terms indicate that your character lives within a human city, or at least in a human society.
Pet - These characters 'belong to' a specific human or family. Like a beloved puppy or a favorite horse, many pets are treated fairly well by their masters. Usually regarded by other 'taurs as being 'simple' due to the general contentment of pets with their masters. If they are raised in such an environment and treated well, then why would they hate humans? It's not an impossible thing, just somewhat less than likely. It is not unheard of that a human will abuse their pet however, and not all live happy contented little lives. Pets that misbehave drastically are often sold to become workers or, in some cases, fighters.
Worker - These characters may belong to a specific human or family, or they could be part of a 'business' of some kind. Like a draft horse or herd dog, they are given tasks to preform. Some are treated as more intelligent horses, helping to move things, while others are given menial jobs...things that don't assume the user has particular intelligence. Their attitude towards their human masters (or occasionally partners) varies. Workers who get too rebellious, however, may find themselves sold to those who like beasts with a little fight in them...
Fighter - These characters can belong to a specific human but are more likely to be owned by a group (ex: a gambling hall). Like the dogs bred for dogfighting, they spend most of their time training and competing in Colosseum-like environments. While most fights end before a fatality occurs, it is a rough and brutal lifestyle to be trapped in.
Non-captive Statuses - These designate that your character lives outside of human society.
Freeborn - Usually the children of former pets/workers who escaped, their families form communities of their own. However, they are usually pretty distanced from actual 'taur culture, and tend to be more easy to find and (re)capture. They might fear or hate humans, and rare is the freeborn who is fond of the twoleggers.
Feral - As the name suggests, these are completely 'wild' 'taurs. Well secluded from human influence, they live deep within nature's sanctuaries (forests, swamps, high mountains) in tribes with other ferals. Humans are not well thought of, hated or despised more often then not, and they maintain that this is their home that the twoleggers are trespassing upon. It is much more rare for a feral to be captured by a human hunting party, and they're almost impossible to 'tame' if one is collected alive.
Loner - Again pretty self explanatory. These are 'taurs that, for whatever reason, don't belong to any particular group and often no particular place either. Hermits or wanderers, they may form a family but are unlikely to fit into one of the tribes or communities for whatever reasons they may have. Some are escaped pets/workers/fighters, a few might be gifted seeking private meditation to further their knowledge, others simply just didn't mesh with their group. But any who go close to the human territories had better watch their step, alone is vulnerable.
Roleplayed Statuses - to gain one of these titles you'll need to be active! Roleplaying and participating in events and games will get a participating 'taur points towards unlocking these status. They grant your character some degree of prestige in RPs and some give you bonuses...elsewhere.
Performer - These are the 'cream of the crop' so to speak. Often regarded with a similar mentality to pets, performers are the show animals. Generally only pureblood 'taurs are allowed to compete on this level. Usually fairly compatable with their human master/handler, it is rare to find a performer who would want to give up their often rather comfortable lifestyle. Think 'spoiled pedigree'. (Performers are usually former pets)
Champion - The other sort of 'cream', this status is awarded to those who have preformed well in the arenas or the pits. They might not work well with their master/owner/handler, but they sure know how to fight and that's all that really counts. Whether they're angry at the world, or just good at what they do, the top-notch fighters deserve a little recognition. (Champions are usually former fighters)
Warrior - Like the title bestowed upon those 'domesticated' (or not so much) fighters in the human pits, the freeborn and feral 'taur also recognize the efforts of those who have proven themselves to be exceptional. Usually applied to combat-oriented feats, it can also be awarded to a 'warrior of wit' or a 'warrior of love'. (ferals and freeborns become warriors, some loners may also qualify)
Special Statuses - For those characters who constantly go the extra mile, these status are the reward. Gaining Special Status is a difficult task, and not every type of character qualifies. If your character is chosen for this, they will be offered minor retouching to add the story of their lives to their image on your cert.
Guardian - A rather special kind of warrior, and one who protects his family, tribe, territory, whatever. Leaders among their people, their lives have shaped them into what they are today. This is a heavily RP required status, and only certain characters may qualify.
Elite - As a guardian is to the ferals, freeborns, and loners, so the elite are to those who live within captivity. Well-adjusted and diplomatic individuals, they too are a kind of leader among their people. This is a heavily RP required status, and only certain characters may qualify.
