I'll only post journal type/solo RP posts here that I won't post in the main shop thread or elsewhere in the guild aside from posts I find memorable enough to do so.

I save my own personal records and any previous entries online can be found in their respective thread.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Conclusion to V-Day:

User ImageObert sauntered into his office, delighted to find his speculations about the valentines he'd received were accurate, if not exceeded. His desk was burdened heavily with various boxes, cards, and gifts as well as a smaller pile atop his chair. This well made up for the day's earlier mishap.

The attractive woman he chased turned out to not be as available as he had anticipated. When he met up with her she was accompanied by a not-so-friendly looking man who he assumed to be her boyfriend. Particularly displeased by Obert's intrusion and accurately inferring his intentions towards "his girl", the burly oaf shot Obert a nasty glare. Outwardly unfazed, Obert advanced to hand the girl the bouquet.

"I'm surprised your boyfriend hasn't gotten you anything special on such a romantic holiday," Obert spoke caddishly. "If you were my girlfriend I'd be sure to make this day especially memorable."

While the boyfriend, dumbstruck, attempted to comprehend what had just transpired as his girlfriend blushed and swooned; Obert made his escape, heart racing, hoping the behemoth wouldn't catch him and rip him in two.

Back at the office Obert had been busy sorting his "prizes" in categories, it was late and he didn't notice the nurse stepping out. The growing "Klenon" pile was filled with an assortment of poorly wrapped presents that Obert quickly ruled as either "gifts from men, gifts from schoolgirls, or gifts from incompetents" (none of which he was attached too). The top most box he set aside specially. Although no name was written, he had the sneaking suspicion it was from Cybille. "Today turned out rather well..." he thought to himself trying to shake the creeping sensation of drowsiness.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

St. Patrick's Day:

User ImageObert sat alone propped up against a large tree trunk, book in hand. The weather was especially favorable heralding that spring was just a few days away. He imagined most people would spend the day drinking in celebration (no doubt good news for the local tavern). However, Obert was hardly a drinker. He didn't detested alcohol, but he reasoned it's rather pathetic to drink alone. That being said, St. Patrick's Day was not a holiday of special significance for him, but still a decent excuse to get out of the office.

He slowly turned the page of his book; it had been a long time since he had the opportunity to read a novel (Obert's pitiful library had collected a fair amount of dust from neglect). He selected a particularly sorry-looking volume for today, one he scarcely remembered buying, but there was a slight nostalgia in reading the formerly-popular fantasy tale that enticed him.

He turned the brittle page again fondly, but a small object slid out from between the aging paper and landed in his lap. Obert snatched the flat item and examined it. "What's this?" he mused as he carefully pulled open the wax paper. A small four-leaf clover was preserved inside. "That's odd..." he thought trying to recall how it got there. The odds of finding four-leafed clover were around 10,000 to 1. He held the enclosed clover aloft for a while and shifted it around his fingers absentmindedly, not exactly sure what to do with it. Finally, he slid the charm into one of his coat pockets. Obert was only mildly superstitious, but a faint opportunity for good luck was hard to pass up.

A nearby clover patch swayed slowly in a gentle breeze and caught Obert's attention. It hadn't really occurred to him the connection between clover and St. Patrick's Day before then so he glanced acquisitively at the patch in case his good fortune would provide yet another lucky plant. However, he quickly determined there were none and felt a bit foolish for his miffed childish desire. The book was still open to the page where the wax paper previously rested. Obert plucked a large ordinary shamrock from the bunch and slid it between the graying pages. He leaned back comfortably against the tree trunk and picked up were he left off.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Easter Preparation:

User Image"Come on! Come on!" the young women chanted as Obert sat in the dressing room contemplating exactly how he had gotten stuck in this mess.

Earlier that morning he bumped into Wendy, the attractive weasel woman he met earlier at the strawberry fields. Relieved that she came without the company of "Sally", Obert set aside his other errands to instead woo Wendy - like a gentleman of course. He accompanied her shopping in various stores downtown until mid afternoon. She seemed to enjoy his company and invited him to share lunch with her at a local caf.

The restaurant was bustling inside but they managed to obtain a small table. They gave their order to an overworked parrot girl and waited patiently for their meal. In the meantime, they managed to carry a conversation amidst the back noise.

"So, do you live nearby?" Obert asked.
"Yes, I live in an apartment downtown. And you?" Wendy replied.
"I live at the clinic, there's an apartment upstairs."
"Oh I see."

Their food was delivered shortly (aided by the fact that they only order one sandwich and coffee between them) and they continued their chat in between bites and sips.

"What are your Easter plans?" Wendy inquired.
"I don't have any plans at the moment. How about you?"
"Well our store is having a promotional sale, so I'll have to work."
"Oh, you work at a store downtown then?"
"Yes I do. And you're a doctor right?" Wendy asked conversationally as she moved on to the second half of her sandwich.
"That's right," Obert replied with a grin. "Why, are you in need of medical aid?"
She set the half down and sat silent for a while crewing both her sandwich and exactly how she was going to phase her next sentence.
"Well... I do need some help, but I don't know if you'd be interested," she led on.

Obert was sure nothing she could come up with would be out of his bounds of comfort, and more importantly felt it'd help make a good impression.

"I'll do anything I can."
"Great!" she replied with gusto and without another word and without finishing her meal she stood up and headed towards the door. Obert, unsettled that he'd made a poor choice in words and was now trapped by them and with the bill, reluctantly paid and followed her out the door. Something about her unusually chipper change in attitude forbade a more sinister "favor" than Obert intended on performing. Regardless, he followed her around the corner until a small clothing store came into view.

He didn't recognize the store as the complex was fairly new, but as they drew nearer Obert's grimace grew more apparent. This was obviously the shop Wendy had referred to, but it was not one Obert, or any other straight man for that matter, would enter by choice. Among other things, the atrociously cute design consisted of a predominantly pink color scheme.

"I'm back!" Wendy announced upon entering, "And I found exactly what we've been looking for."

Obert followed her inside and a gaggle of other women swarmed around him murmuring "He's perfect!" It might have actually been enjoyable if it was not incredibly creepy.
"Well now, here's your chance to help out," Wendy stated pertly. "Here put this on." She said forcibly handing Obert what looked like a white dress and stockings. "Oh, and don't forget these," she said holding out a pair of bunny ears with the left ear bent to the side.

"You have got to be joking..."

Obert was pushed inside an obnoxiously purple dressing room.

"We won't let you out unless you wear it," Sally the chipmunk threatened (who apparently, to Obert's further dismay, worked at the same store).

The mob giggled incessantly while Obert contemplated his options. He was obviously trapped, with the only feasible means of escape through the door blocked by a multitude of girls determined to see his pride marred by a bunny suit, a women's bunny suit. After many minutes of hesitation, Obert began to undress.

Obert fit comfortably in the dress and stockings and slid on the loafers the women shoved through the small crack under the door. Perplexingly, the clothes, shoes, and even the ears seemed to fit exactly, as if made for him. Taking a deep breath, he begrudgingly opened the door.

User Image

"OH MY GOOOD!" roared his viewing public which rendering him both temporarily deaf and blind from camera flashes. Those incriminating photos would no doubt haunt him for all eternity. Never in his life had he been so embarrassed nor had he harbored so much resentment towards a woman (or in this case, a group of women). As his vision cleared, he recognized familiar face in the corner.

"Valerie?"

She was laughing at him.

----

Obert woke with a start gazing blurry-eyed at the room around him. "A nightmare?" he pondered. His dream's vibrance quickly faded into the dullness of reality until only a faint memory of embarrassment lingered. He sat upright and pawed at the night table until he grasped his glasses. It was rather irritating to be woken by something so trivial, especially in the middle of the night. Regardless, it'd be a while until sleep would once again set in.

A furry object brushed his leg that caused him to jump slightly. With his glasses on and eyes now adjusted to the darkness, he peered next to him and made out the silhouette of a familiar body. Wendy was now hogging most of the sheets and snoring lightly, her tail flicked Obert as she rolled on her side. Obert smiled lightly in the darkness until he spied something white across the room. A pair of rabbit ears sat perched atop the dresser; he'd almost forgotten Wendy had bought them for him earlier that day. He hadn't noticed before, but one ear was bent to the side.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Belated Birthday:

User ImageObert collected his mail as usual, absentmindedly flipping through the assorted postcards from admirers, bills, and advertisements until he came across a letter stamped a number of times over making the sender's identity barely legible; it was obvious the letter had been tossed around the post office for a while. Through a bit of guessing and elimination he deciphered the first line "From: Mr. & Mrs. Conner Neal".

"My parents?" Obert thought with intrigue. His mother did occasionally write, but mostly around major holidays (Easter not one of them as he usually would visit instead). He took the mail inside and tossed the discards lazily on his desk to be sorted sometime later. Meanwhile, he opened the envelope carefully with a knife.

"Dear Obert," he read, "I can barely believe that it's been twenty-nine years already since you were born."

"Twenty-nine years," Obert repeated aloud. "What day is it?" He glanced over at his calendar which already had the month of April overflowing with sloppy handwriting indicating various important dates and appointments. "A 3:30 appointment, so that would make it Tuesday..." he calculated "...the eleventh." Obert knew full well his birthday was on the sixth.

The idea he'd missed celebrating the day of his birth was not all that unsettling. What disturbed Obert greater was the fact that he was now officially one year away from thirty, and in turn, eleven years from forty, and so on. Aging was not something he looked forward to, because at some point the harsh realization of "old" would set in. He could have dealt with his disappointment far better without the addition of his mother's "P.S. Will you get married soon? I'm looking forward to spoiling my grandchildren." He sat and leaned back in his swivel chair and stared blankly at the last line of the letter. A wife and kids definitely were not listed anywhere on his calendar.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Plushie Wrap-up:

User ImageAgain, Valerie nodded in compliance. Making the long reach across the table, she grabbed a handful of stuffing and gently shoved the fluffy innards into the flat strawberry. After a few more handfuls she pinched the top of the strawberry, testing how it would close. It was still flat, and it was at this point that Valerie realized she had much smaller hands than she thought. Disappointed, she reached across again for more stuffing.

User ImageMeanwhile Obert cut out the small wings from white fabric. He use the needle he previously threaded with white string to sew the pieces together. He chuckled lightly seeing Valerie struggle to reach across the table as her generous handfuls of stuffing proved insufficient.

User ImageAfter several more frustrating handfuls of stuffing, Valerie pinched the top of the strawberry again and at long last, it seemed full enough. "Is this good?" She held the strawberry up to Obert.

User Image"Hmm," Obert queried as he glanced over from his sewing. "Yes, that looks very good."

It was about time she had gotten something right, so he added a slight emphasis of praise. He sewed to the point on the second wing to leave open for stuffing and tied the thread off. He flipped it inside out to ready it for stuffing like he had done with the first.

"Alright, we're almost done," Obert stated with covert relief. "Stuff these and I'll sew them all together when you're done."

User ImageValerie beamed, the wings were much smaller than the main body of the strawberry so it would be much easier for her to stuff. She eagerly took one of the wings and proceeded to stuff them. Like she thought, it was much easier to stuff. The wings took less than half the handfuls the main body did. Repeating what she did with the first, she had them both done in almost no time. She set them in front of her on the table and folded her hands in her lap.

User Image"Thanks," Obert said genuinely pleased she finished so quickly.

He proceeded to sew the holes used for stuffing and the wings to the strawberry. Pretty soon the whole plushie came together. He was reasonably proud of it, as for having no official sewing experience (aside from stitching), it came out relatively well. The only noticeable fault was that one wing was slightly higher than the other.

"Here you go," Obert said carefully placing the holy strawberry in Valerie small hands. "I think you should keep it." He smiled warmly.

User ImageValerie felt her face flush red. She held her head low and stared at the strawberry in her hands. "Th-thank you." Her voice was shaky and almost inaudible.

User ImageHer blush was cute. "Cute? Of course she's cute... she's just a little girl."

Obert glanced around the room. Somehow he'd lost track of the fox he spotted earlier and felt a wave of disappointment. Foxes always seemed to be especially interesting women. He checked the classroom clock. He had an appointment in a few hours and without any further motivation to stay, he said his goodbye.

"Take good care of it," Obert added. "But for now, it's about time I take my leave." He rose from his chair and turned to face the door.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Butler/Maid Event Preparation:

User ImageObert tapped his foot absentmindedly as he waited for his dry-cleaning. His ticket indicated his clothes should have been done a good twenty minutes ago; however, this clearly was not the case. But this wasn't unexpected; after all, it was right before "Maid and Butler Appreciation Week" (one of the few occasions for the general population to breakout their formalwear).

It'd been a while since he last attended the annual event, but he held fond memories of it dating back to his childhood. Visiting the palace was always a grand affair, including the exploration of the nearby tourist sites, bustling market, and surrounding pristine ocean. However, Obert's favorite attraction has always been the maids and this year (due to understaffing) he'd been given the unique opportunity to stand-in as a butler. Obert gladly took the position in hopes that he'd receive a more intimate look at the life of a caretaker (a female caretaker preferably).

"Number 216!" a mousy woman called from behind the counter. Obert jerked from his musings and checked his ticket stub.
"Ah, that's me," he called and approached the counter.
"Great," she replied quickly handing him an outfit hung cattywompus on a hanger. Her auburn hair was distinctly frazzled, likely from the extra workload the event generated. There was a loud clamor in the background. "Oh I'm sorry, I'll be right back in just a second!" She frantically navigated her way though the labyrinth of clothes and machinery to her cursing coworker leaving Obert to wait yet again before he could be wrung up at the register.

Obert stepped back from the counter in compliance, sympathizing with the over-stressed woman. However, he quickly found another reason to wait.

"What the..?" he exclaimed after inspecting the clothes thrust upon him. It was most certainly not his suit. It was most certainly a maid's outfit. A few snickers from male teenagers behind him only flamed the embarrassment creeping upon him, especially since at that brief moment Obert imagined himself actually wearing the ridiculous garment.

The mousy woman returned, face even more flushed and hair more disheveled from rushing back and forth. "Alright sir," she said trying to maintain a salesperson's enthusiasm. "That'll be two leras please."

"I'm afraid there's been a mistake," Obert began. "You see, these aren't my clothes."
"Heke?" she made a mousy squeak as she inspected the clothes Obert held aloft. "Hmm, well the tag matches your ticket..."
"Well I think it's fairly obvious that this is not the suit I brought in," Obert reposted with firm politeness. "I don't even think it's my size," he added humorously. (To that comment he heard a faint "Why don't you try it on?" behind him which he promptly ignored.)
She smiled weakly, "I'm sorry sir. I don't know what happened."

Before Obert could reply, another woman approached the counter.

"Excuse me," the curly black-haired raccoon woman spoke, "I left in such a hurry that I didn't realize I'd taken the wrong order." She held out a suit that Obert quickly recognized as his.

Obert, about to inform the second woman of the mix-up, was cutoff by the mousy attendant who hadn't quite put two-and-two together. "Wow what a coincidence! This man just got the wrong order as well." (At this point, Obert made a mental note to never use this particular dry-cleaner again.)

"Uh, I think it's a matter of a simple mix-up," Obert suggested to the raccoon woman. "I believe this is yours?" he said holding her dress out for her inspection. "And that," he said pointing at the suit with his free hand, "would be mine."

However, the other patrons were largely unconcerned with Obert's clothing mishap. "Uhg," the teenagers groaned, "just move it already!"

To appease the grumbling customers still waiting in line, Obert quickly paid the cashier so he and the other woman could leave the cleaners to sort things out elsewhere.

"I'm sorry about all of this," the woman apologized once they were outside. "It's rather embarrassing," she said with a hint of humiliation handing Obert his clothes.
"Don't worry about it," he answered lightheartedly. "Besides, I'd much rather see the dress on you than me." Obert completed the swap by exchanging the clothes he'd been holding.
Her mocha complexion blushed red as she accepted her maid attire. "Th-thank you."
"I hope to see you at the palace then?" the doctor inquired.
"Yes," she smiled confidently, "I'll look forward to it."

They departed and Obert made his way back towards the clinic. After a bit of walking, a small slip of paper fell from somewhere amidst his clothes. He picked it up and examined it. "An address?" he determined from the format. With a grin spreading across his face, he slid the note into his pocket and continued on his way.

Slanderous Quotes for Fun XD

"I'm not that old!" ~Obert

Bob Dobbs
User Image*Chris looked up in confusion as Erin tugged on his sleeve. Then he heard Laurie was here and saw her. Eric was right, there was a chance she would know how to sew or at least put one of these things together. If not there was that guy who seemed to be helping Valerie. He seemed to know what he was doing. He stopped looking at the fabric and went with Erin to greet Laurie. He smiled at her and hoped she had as much fun as he did at the strawberry field. Chris did have fun, aside from the demon sheep trying to attack him of course.*

Its good to see you again. Um, You wouldnt happen to know how to sew would you? We seem to be having a hard time with it.

*He said, looking a bit humbled. He hoped she would be able to help as it kind of was silly to even be here if not only couldnt he decide what he would make but he couldnt even make so much as a pillow much less a plushie of . . .something. Glancing in Valerie's direction he was glad that old guy was taking time to help her. Chris liked old people, they had interesting stories to tell and knew a lot about almost everything.*

[ The Fool ]
User Image Her posture never changed as her foot tapped away to a beat. Too many times had she seen the doctor around women of all ages, shamelessly commenting about their appearances in public. Sometimes she did wonder how they both managd to get together, only to realize it was more of a 'mother and son' relationship... Even though he was a few years older. "Helping her I see.." Her eyes went back to lay upon the ram, studying her looks and possibly reading behind that innocent face which she once had.

"I was forced to wear this apparently.. and I have yet to find the child who did so." She patted against her skirt and thought about Jeanette, the little flower girl. Pausing for a few seconds, Cybille bent down and extended out her hand to the smaller female. "Nice to meet you dear, I'm Cybille Jardin. I work with Obert as a nurse at the clinic."

User Image Chwen's built-in Little Sister Radar went off. It said... look left!

"Tu--"

There was a guy. An old guy. Holding his precious baby sister. Guy. Sister. Touching. Unconscious little sister. What?! Chwen narrowed his eyes and flexed his hands as he slowly walked over, viciously grinding his teeth.

"Put. Her. Down."

User ImageOnce reaching the top of the hill November scanned the area. The kids were placing the wood in a pile over by the fire; and near the fire was a man who seemed surveying their work. Since the man looked old(er) and appeared to be in charge, he decided to approach him and ask what exactly it was he was supposed to be doing. Branch in tow he walked over to the man, Hi, Im er- supposed to help with chaperoning some of the younger kids? Are you in charge? An uneasy smile crossed his face as the man appeared mirthless.
