Welcome!

This is a crossover role-play, taking the Naruto world and placing it fully into the Pokemon world!
As such, the five countries and continent that they are on comprise the Ushinawa Region, which will soon be connected to the Johto region through a bridge heading out of the Land of Waves. As of right now, the bridge is still under construction.

The pokemon trainers here are different, they all come from a long line of warriors and ninja. In this region, the trainers travel in teams of two or three, and battle with their pokemon in addition to their comrades.
The Gym Challenge is also different, it begins once a year at the Iwa gym, and to pass through to the remaining gyms, you must first get the badge of the gym proceeding it (With Danshoku and the two in Konoha being the exception, those you can get in any order)

So will you, with your trusted friends and pokemon, take this challenge? Will you be the one that catches them all?

Locales of Interest!

Professor Walnut's Laboratory: This well known (in the Ushinawa region at least) facility is located in Taki, and was the home to the leading expert on pokemon in the region. Recently, the professor was murdered and the laboratory destroyed, but there is the chance that some of his research survived...

Haunted Mansion: Outside of the caves separating Earth Country from Wind Country, there is a great gothic manor on a cliff overlooking the sands of the desert leading to Suna. There is a prize offered for anyone willing to take the challenge and spend the night, but to this day, very few have completed the challenge. It is rumored that many ghost pokemon live here.

Hot Springs: This locale in the village of Danshoku is a great place to come and relax for both pokemon and humans. On New Year's Eve they hold a great cleansing ceremony, but due to the sheer number of lovers that appear to frequent the spot, it's questionable as to how much "cleansing" actually occurs.

Rock Lee's Dojo It is rumored that if you defeat the leader of this dojo outside of Konoha, you will receive a rare fighting pokemon.

The Academy: Located in Konoha, this is the primo place for up and coming trainers to gather information and techniques on catching and raising pokemon. The headmaster is Iruka, and it is rumored that he supports the Senju gym more than the Uchiha.

Ushinawa Region Museum: A museum that showcases the past and future of the Ushinawa region. Many things are on display here, from historical artifacts, to modern innovations, to art, to fossils. This is located in the center of Konoha.

The Mall: Also located in Konoha, this is a vast shopping district where anything and everything can be found, including rare TM's and pokemon.

Gambling House: Actually an entire town, located somewhere between Konaha and Kiri, where there are many games of chance and bars.

The Daycare: Located in Kiri, this is a facility that studies the breeding habits of pokemon. They will happily care for any pokemon, provided that the trainer doesn't mind signing a waiver so that they can research on them, and will even let the trainer have any eggs that result from the stay... provided a small fee is paid and that the trainer is willing to bring the pokemon that hatches back to the Daycare so that they can make notes.

The Power Company: Located outside of Kumo, this is the source of electricity for the entire region.

The Black Laboratories: These are located in the ruins below Oto. There are many dark and strange things seen and heard in this area, and even survivors of the Haunted Mansion should proceed with caution.

Tsubasagakure: These ruins of an ancient civilization are to the north of Taki and hold many interesting clues to the past of Ushinawa, one that shows pokemon and humans fighting together in an war against an unknown darkness. There is a group of archeologists and anthropologists here, and a digging contest to find fossils and artifacts. Everything found is donated to the Ushinawa Region Museum, located in Konoha.

Ame This home-town of the mysterious Team Dawn. What could their plan be? And who is their shadowy leader?

People of Interest!

Ramen Lady Mira: She seems to be in every town and on every route offering a full bowl of noodles and a cup of sake for pokemon and trainer alike. There is a rumor that this fiery haired woman is one of a set number, unlike the Nurse Joys and Officer Jennys, but only one person, the gym leader in Suna, knows for sure just how many there are.
Pokemon: Vulpix, Cherrim, Polywhirl

Arim Ydal Nemar: Don't be fooled! This dark twin of the ramen lady Mira isn't there to serve food, despite the ramen stand that she frequents. She's there to steal your things with her pokemon, namely anything shiny and powerful. Rumors have it that she's one of the Mira's who have gone rogue, and at the moment, she works alone, though she travels just as fast as the Mira's do.
Pokemon: Zigzagoon, Chimecho, and Houndoom

Artifact expert, Researcher Kaze: An expert in ancient artifacts Kaze is the current owner of the haunted mansion and has a close bond with the Ghost pokemon of the mansion as well as a very close bond with the pokemon breeder Hayato.
Pokemon: Spiritomb, Sableye and Twin Infernapes

Pokemon Breeder Hayato: Hayato is the only other human occupant of the Haunted mansion. He knows a lot about pokemon breeding and pokemon compatibility as well as having trained several powerful dark type pokemon. He also finds the ghost pokemon of the mansion rather irritating as they keep interrupting his "alone time" with Kaze.
Pokemon: Honchrow, Houndoom, Kirikizan, Absol and Sanzadora

Professor Walnut: This pokemon researcher (now deceased) was the top scientist in the region on Pokemon, and rumored to once have been a student of Professor Oak before a falling out between the two that caused him to wander to this region and settle in Taki. He was very interested in Legendary Pokemon, having made more headway into the research concerning them than any other scientist. It was even rumored that he had a rare legendary pokemon in his personal collection.
Another area of expertise for him was the link between pokemon and human, and he spent a good deal of time in the ruins of Tsubasa.
Pokemon: Unknown.

more to be added later...

Battle System!

<>

Take the level of your pokemon, and add it to the random roll you get, 1-6.
i.e; Your level 8 Mankey needs to find its HP. Generate a random number between 1 and 6. You generate a 4. Add the Mankey's level, 8, to the random number, 4, resulting in 12. This will make your Level 8 Mankey's HP 12.

<>

To use an attack, you will generate a random number from 1-6.
The chart below will explain this.

Damage Schematics
Rolling a 1-2= 0 Damage. (Miss)
Rolling a 3-5= 1 Damage (Hit)
Rolling a 6= 2 Damage (Critical)

For every 5 Levels between the attacker and the defender, the attacker gets +2 attack.
(Level 10 Rattata rolls a 5 against a Level 5 Charmander. Rattata does 1 damage against the Charmander, along with an additional 2 damage because of the level bonus, for a total of 3 damage.)

For every 5 levels between the defender and the attacker, the defender takes -1 damage.
(Level 5 Charmander rolls a 6 for a critical against a Level 10 Rattata. Charmander would deal 2 damage, but due to the level bonus of the defender, Rattata only takes 1hp damage.

If a hit is rolled, but is lowered to less than one, the hit does one damage.

<>

Burn and Poison both cause damage to the Pokemon in question. The damage is always 1hp lost per attack, whether it is a direct attack, or it is an indirect attack, such as Haze or Sunny Day.
Sleep, Freeze and Paralyze are all moves that stop you from attacking. The time is for two attacks. On the third attack, you may follow through with the attack.

<>
Certain Pokemon and attacks are exceptions to the rules. This list will grow as attacks and PokePowers are found that contradict our rules.

Pokemon/Powers
Shedinja- The Pokepower for Shedinja is called Wonder Guard. It prevents the pokemon from taking any damage unless it is a critial hit, or super effective. Shedinja is a Bug/Ghost Pokemon.

Attacks/Abilities
False Swipe- This attack always leaves 1hp left for the Pokemon it attacks. If the Pokemon it attacks only has 1hp left, the attack misses.
Endure- The Pokemon that uses this ability is prevented from Fainting from the next attack, leaving it with at least 1hp left. This attack has 10pp, and for each usage after that, you must subtract the number of hits possible hits by one. For example; Roll a 3, it hits. Next time, roll a 1-5, with only 3,4 and 5 being possible hits; then 1-4 after next use with 3 and 4 being the only hits., etc.

Rules!

The mods are Haru (Muse_of_the_Soul) and myself. We're the ones who created the fanfiction and this RP, and we ask that if we tell you something, then you listen. A lot of hard work has gone into making this.
There may be a few events where we have a guest mod, for instance when someone has created a good event for the RP, I might ask them if they want to oversee the event that they put so much work into.

No god-modding. A battle system is being made to ensure fairness. If you rolled a miss, then you missed. There is no magic refracting beam or well-placed mirror to save your miss.

Pokemon are knocked out, but not killed. They can be revived in many ways, Ramen Lady Mira, the graves near the Haunted Mansion, A pokemon center, etc.
With that in mind, once the battle system is set up, please keep in mind your pokemon HP. The good news is that you can choose to rest after a battle, and in doing so, your pokemon will be fully healed; however, there may be a situation where you can't rest yet, so please read all posts so that you are sure of what is going on.
(An easy way to remember your pokemon's HP is to set up a format that includes it. I will post an example of that)

Yes trainers are fighting as well; however, (because it would be incredibly complicated to add a battle system for them as well), they have no HP and cannot be killed or knocked out by another trainer.
AT THE SAME TIME! They can be captured and taken out of the game for a few turns. (One of the ways to fail the challenge of the Haunted Mansion is being captured by a ghost pokemon). If that happens, don't fret! You will be able to catch up.

You may see one of the Elite Four before you achieve all eight badges, but until you complete the gym challenge you cannot fight them yet! Keep in mind where they were! Two of them will always be in the same place, and the other two wander in a set pattern.

Have fun! This is pokemon after all!

Also... if anyone can correctly guess in the course of the RP just how many Ramen Lady Miras there are and report it to the Gym Leader in Suna their character will get a rare pokemon!
