the balls are spun and the announcer picks the names. Girls first, then boys. She reads them:
Caper Karss Shay Keyab May the odds be ever in your favor!

Caper gulped, her throat extremely dry. she walked slowly up to the stage and faced her district. she couldnt help it, a tear escaped when she looked at her family. i tried my best to stay alive for you... she had never gotten in trouble after her brother got wipped, but the games were out of her controll. she kept telling herself this, but she still felt like she failed them.

Does the Capitol hate me or something? then and there he promised he would do something to make the Capitol pay in the near future. he would volunteer... yea. and make sure he won.

( wow! What a twist! ) Kyle made his way to where he was supposed to be. He looked at the person who was picked. It was Caper! Oh no! He thought as he wached her almost cry. Why do have the drawings seem rigged or something?

Allia gasped. Caper? The nice one? Always following the rules...always laughing in the orchards...her mind reeled at seeing this girl, too young, sent to her death. Of course, she was upset about Shay too, but...she barely knew him, though he seemed like a nice kid in general. It was still so awful awful... Then she looked at Iraja and squeezed his arm, wanting to be grateful that neither of them had been picked. (Surprising, since both of them had taken plenty of tesserae.) But it was just so hard to believe...Caper... Iraja realized he was standing next to the two boys who he had been spying on in the woods. Why were they so upset? If they were Peacekeeper kids, they would look at this as an honor. The names, thankfully, meant nothing to him, though that might've had something to do with the fact that he had only been here 3 years (well, been here and actually showing his face).
