Gabe walked into the market. He looked around. He trodded over to one of the stalls. " Hello, I would like to trade this pelt for some fruit." Gabe said to the stall owner. The owner handed him some grapes and a apple. Gabe gave the man Three furs. He started to make his way back home.

Melody ran a hand through her horrid orange hair. She made her way over to the market, and dug around in her jacket pocket. Not much today, just a few bracelets, she thought. With a sigh, she began to walk around, trying to see if someone would actually buy them.

Sonia looked at the poor, ragged girl selling bracelets. Even thinner than Sonia was. Then she looked at what she had caught: a rabbit and two squirrels.

Oh, whatever--a rabbit and a squirrel would last long enough. She sighed and shuffled over to the girl. "Hi, I'd like to buy a bracelet," she said, trying to smile.

The girl just looked at her blankly. Sonia sighed and went over to Greasy Sae to trade.
"You're the last one today, girlie. Time for the Reaping," said Sae. She added, "May the odds be ever in your favor!" Sonia laughed--that was what she said each year, always in that way she had. Sonia left, dropped the goods off at home, and went to the Reaping.

Tam walked through the crowd, trying not to get stepped on. She was getting many glances and fingers pointed at her, not to mention gossiping whispers. she was holding a bow and quiver at her side, for there was a large turkey strapped to her back. two rabbits and a weasel-ish mammal hung from her belt. She had no problem getting meat, but dairy, fruits and vegetables were challenging. She walked over to a stall with fruits and vegetables. Smirking, she grabbed the turkeys wings and extended them, making it look like she had wings. She whistled like a bird and walked to the man running the stand. The guy smiled at the cute little girl. Sucker she thought to herself. Tam wasnt acting cute because she liked it, she knew that acting all innocent gives her more stuff. Devious. and she knew it. She traded the turkey for a dozen apples, a baggie of wild berries, and a sack of wild carrots and other edible roots. Smiling, she walked to other stalls because she still had three animals to trade off.

Absynthe saw the girl loaded down with animals and purred slightly. A few quick maneuvers and she was in front of Tam in no time "Why, hello there sweetie, I see you have some nice game there. I also happen to be quite the hunter, and I have quite the proposition, let's be partners." She said sweetly. No, she didn't know the girl but she had heard quiet a bit about her "Tam, right? I'm Absynthe." She flashed her nicest smile and started to twirl a finger through her long light brown hair "It would be a good deal. For the both of us, of course."

Tam raised her eyebrow when she heard the word sweetie. "So... youre saying that in exchange for the meat, youll be my partner? no thanks, i need to live too ya know" she said, folding her arms.

(( its fine, Absynthe is exactly the same! )) An o made it's way in place of Absynthe's pale lips "Excuse me. I was thinking more, we go out, get the game bring it back, sell it, and split all half and half. I am willing to use my time to show you I have the skills you need...want. Together we can get twice as much game, three times as much reward for our game in half the amount of time. Statistics." She said through a rather peeved smile. "Look I'm not your enemy doll, but you don't want me as one, and I really don't feel like adding to the stack. So, I'm not saying we have to be buddies but both of us have.... benefits for the other one."

Buddies? Doll? Tam was not liking this. "Ok, look, i have enough skill on my own, working in pairs makes more noise, and if you havent noticed, im not a people person..." she said with a sassy tone. Who was she kidding? more stuff was always better than less stuff. "Deal" she said, shoving out a hand.

"Smart move. Ignore my calling you names, it's a habit. I'll assist in snare setting and getting up in high, thin places. Because of my...eh....compromised height of only five foot two, I can climb on the slimmest of branches in the highest of trees." She flashed a real smile and shook Tam's hand. "Well then, partner, we'll have to set a date for hunting every week." Absynthe turned around to a man selling candy and fruit and winked at him. She gave him a flirtatious smile and leaned closer to him complimenting his alert skills, and other complete crap, stealing an apple or candy bag every now and again. "Keep up the good work...sir." She blew a kiss and turned back to Tam "I'll also be splitting my...borrowed items with you."

Her teeth were grit so hard you could easily see her jaw bone "All I know is that if I ever ever become a contestant I'll be just like Katniss Everdeen and I'll start and uprising!" She promised and dug her nails in the apple "Down with the capitol!" Absynthe yelled very loudly. Very. Loudly.
