This topic will be to discuss things relating to Plato's marvelous Republic. Although this seems like a small task, it really is not. Plato brings so many different philosophies to play in each of his works, that to discuss him as a philosopher would be nearly impossible through only one topic.

This topic is not only dedicated to the book, or it would be with other books. It is meant to be a place to discuss the philosophies in the republic.
Certain example of these philosophies are as follows:
--The Cave Allegory and what it means for the journey of the soul
-- Epithumea, thumos, and noesis; or appetite, spirit, and intellect: the roles these play in the republic as a society and what this means for a soul within a person.
-- Harmful versus benign ignorance and evil, possibly using a comparison of the different people to challenge Socrates in his explanation.
-- Building and tearing down the city, the philosophies that are discussed through the rise and decent in the plot.
-- The feverish city, why it is desired by man and why it is almost inevitable that it be mentioned.
-- Whether it is ever possible to have a society or even a person governed properly using noesis.

There are many more, but I feel as though I may already have frightened many people away.
