About
I was looking at my profile and realized how extremely outdated it was. I'm not about to invest hours in a profile but I can at least take a few moments to write something relevant to the last 5 years. My name is Ellie (I changed the spelling because of confusions) I am a 3rd year Humanities student at Carleton (as of 2010). I have two dogs, Diago and Ellie (I adopted her with that name, it wasn't by choice). MY dogs are pretty much my life, they take up every ounce of what used to be free time.
I work with disabled people and also work as a writer (although this is currently not a paying job). I still believe very strongly in my religious views, although most people would categorize them as "spiritual." I love philosophy, and use it very liberally in my personal and academic studies, as well as in my "everyday" life.
I'd love to talk with certain people about the details of what I enjoy and who I believe I am, that being said I am a fairly busy person and my free time is sporadic at best. So, that being said, you're free to ask but I cannot always guarantee a response. I've started coming on ere again in hopes of more creative sparks, although a muse is not a writing tool, it helps to be able to generate one.
Anyhow, that should be enough.

Movies
Most of my favourite movies involve Johnny Depp and Tim Burton. It isn't a dreamy thing, it's more that I respect Depp's range and I believe Burton's directing is enlightened rather than necessarily conformist. I also like a lot of movies that involve social or political commentary. That being said I'm guilty of also loving children's films as well as "brainless" films, generally falling into the "comedy" or "cult classic" categories.
Tv Shows
simpsons, futurama, sitcoms, some dramas, historical shows, nature shows, I don't have cable so I pretty much watch whatever...
Books/ Authors
Dickens, Kundera, Scarlett Thomas, Vonnegut, some Ondaatje (sp?) and some Woolf. I like many types of writing but I generally stay away from "junk food" books unless I need to simmer my brain down. I find books should have meaning. On that note, I also very much enjoy Plato, Plotinus, Boethius and Dante (or at least, I started to when I started understanding them better).
Interests
discussion, debate, theology, animals, behaviour experimentation, literature, sexuality (not sex), etc.etc.
