Working together:
The collaborative writing sub-forum is not the place to compare stories and ask for notes and help. I've invested a considerable sum of money in a solo writers sub-forum for people to ask for help, work on individual stories with some input, and possibly run workshops.
It is ideal that all or most of the writers listed as participants in a story will have an equal amount of input into the story. One writers ideas may be used more often, but each writer should have the opportunity to have themselves heard. With this in mind, try to respond promptly to questions about the direction on the story. People are being polite and waiting for you rather than taking off with their own ideas and story, try to be considerate of that.
As with the announcement posted on the main page, working together implies a degree of courtesy. If someone has a bad idea, be polite about it. Most of the time it's not even bad, it just does't work as well as another.
Plagiarism
Plagiarism is illegal, as well as just plain bad academics. Whether you've worked on a story with others or not, taking their ideas and work without asking their permission and giving them due credit is wrong. If ever I find out that someone takes a collaborative story, someone else's solo work, or even someone's role-playing developments without first asking their permission and later giving them some of the credit, I will help whoever was plagiarized make a case in court. Being banned from this guild will be the least of your worries.
Silliness
Although some collaborative stories may be written with a plan to be silly, many will not be. It is your responsibility to take the intent of the stories posted in this sub-forum seriously.Do not go into a story topic and post irrelevant material, silly ideas, and just plain muck.
Talking
Talking in the collaborative writing forum should, as much as possible, be restricted to things relevant to working on a story together. In these beginning weeks there will be some leniency as we all get our bearing and try to learn enough about each other t work together, but in the future general discussion will be restricted to it's own forum. Again, I said GENERAL discussion, it will always be permitted to talk about story planning and other things in that story's topic.
**As always, more will come if the need arises.
