Fiiinally decided to post pics of my animals... I know, took long enough, lol. I think I'm going to do the snakes in chronological order, with the legged ones at the end... So, starting with Mallie, my first snake.

Mallie is an '07 Anery corn snake female from Serpenco. We got her in late November '07. First, a baby pic--courtesy of the breeder. She was so tiny!
User Image
And now, at almost 200 grams... She loves trying to burrow into solid ground. xD
User Image
User Image

After Mallie, I was happy for a year. ... Then I got back on the reptile forums... Then I started surfing Craigslist... Then I found Lucy, who, despite her readiness to bite (not just tag--BITE and swallow!), was the spark that really started the roaring fire that is my collection. (Eek! Corny metaphor! nuu!)

Lucy is an adult (age unk) female Taiwan Beauty Rat Snake. For funsies, here's a pic taken shortly after we got her... After I scrubbed her too-small (20H) tank clean, replaced the sani-chips with aspen, added a hide, gave her an appropriate water dish, and received my first-ever snake bite.
User Image
And more recently (September) as she stretched out in her 75 gallon, looking for food (as usual)...
User Image
User Image
And one to show her size... There's a good 6-10 inches of tank cut off, but the 75 is 4 ft long and 1.5 ft deep.
User Image

Hansel, my '08 Anery corn snake male from Dave Harms. First, a pic from the day he arrived in January '09... He was so cute and little, weighing in at 15 grams!
User Image
And now... My 125-gram monster boy!
User Image

Greta is an '08 Normal corn female, and Hansel's clutchmate. First, arrival day, at a whopping 8 grams... (Sorry for the crappy pic)
User Image
Last summer, at 50-60-ish grams
User Image
Now, at around 70 or 80 grams (could only get a headshot)...
User Image

Then comes Asia, a particularly "bland" '08 Lavender. Then, at around 10-15 grams...
User Image
This last October (60 or so grams)...
User Image
Now, at about 80 grams.
User Image

Rhythm is my cute little '08 Bloodred male. Emphasis on "little." He was around 6-8 grams when we got him last February...
User Image
And the most recent pics I have of him, from October, when he finally surpassed the 40 gram mark...
User Image

At this point, we decided to shake things up a bit. So, on the same day that we got Rhythm and Asia (my first expo... heh), we got China, the '08 Kenyan Sand Boa. Unsexed, but his/her size suggests male. Then, at about 8 grams:
User Image
No recent shots, but here he is in June, at around 17 or 18 grams:
User Image

A month later came Osiris, an '06 or '07 Anery Colombian Boa Constrictor female, and my second-ever Craigslist find. Poor girl was underfed, kept too hot, and housed in a too small, dry, and open (aka: few hides) tank. Her tank before we got her, pic taken from the CL ad:
User Image
Her tank after I redid it, the day she arrived:
User Image
Oh, she was so grateful to have water... Lol. The water dish is 12 inches long, and around 4 or 5 inches wide, to show her small size. I forgot to record her weight that day, but she was no more than 600 grams.
User Image
On Halloween, using her now doubled weight (~1100-1200 g) to stretch out my dress whenever I had to get up to answer the door... xD
User Image
Freshly shed, in December... Hadn't weighed her in a while, but she was easily heavier than my 1700 gram ball python during this shoot! =)
User Image
User Image

In April, I won Yelina, an '05 Amel Corn snake female, in an auction on a corn snake forum. This sweetheart is not only a proven breeder, but came to me "knocked up" by a gorgeous Butter Stripe corn. She usually weighs in at a little under 400 grams. Here she is with the aforementioned Butter Stripe, pic courtesy of her previous owner:
User Image
I didn't get any pics before she laid, but here are some pics immediately after her first post-lay meal... She was 315 grams at the time of this pic. Making babies takes a lot out of a girl!
User Image
An outdoor shot, almost a month later..
User Image
I thought I took a picture of her last week, but now I can't find it... Oh well. She hasn't changed much.

After we won Yelina, her previous owner offered to throw in a lovely and proven '05 Snow het Stripe male at a more than fair price, in case Yelina was big enough to double clutch. Who could resist? So, along with Yelina, came Xente.
Arrival day, at 270 grams... He was always a small guy:
User Image
A month later:
User Image
No recent pics, but this guy has shot up in size, and now weighs somewhere between 300 and 350 grams.

In May came Jekyll, another CL find. He's an '08 Hogg Isle x Colombian cross Boa Constrictor male. The day we got him...
User Image
Natural light pic from a few weeks later..
User Image
His equally gorgeous dark phase (taken in July)...
User Image

A month after Jekyll came the "Freebie" ball pythons, both acquired in the month of June.

First was Hobbs, who was given to me by the local high school's (now retired) principal. "He" is going on 11 years old, and was sexed as a female by the vet. She's small for her age and sex, weighing in at a little over 1600 grams when we first got her.
User Image
User Image
Her most recent pic... In blue, and OBSESSED with the water dish. Not sure if she's ovulating, about to lay an infertile clutch, or just being a weirdo, since this is the first time she's done this and her humidity is fine...
User Image

Ed is a 4-5 year old male ball python, and another craigslist find. He came "free" with a large dual enclosure that I ended up never using... He came in at around 1100 grams when we got him, and is more in the range of 1200 or so now. Then (late June/early July):
User Image
Outdoor pic, taken in September:
User Image
Last week... Ed says water dish hides are the BEST! =D
User Image

Okay, babies, the August additions, and the legged things will be in the next post. This one's long enough as it is!! =)

Beautiful scalies! I really like China, he's got so much black on him compared to my old kenyan.

But I have to say, Jekyll is my favorite out of all of them. I love his dark phase, it's beautiful. smile I'll be waiting on that next post!!! biggrin

Technically, these guys arrived in April, as little tiny egglets in their mama's belly... But they weren't really "born" (read: hatched) until July 11th. These are Yelina's offspring... Of the 17 fertile eggs laid, 11 survived; of the 11 that hatched, only 1 failed to thrive. So, here they are... They are all '09 Amel het Caramel Stripe Corn snakes.

#7, the "Failure To Thrive" hatchling. RIP. Her nickname was "Pretty In Pink."
User Image
User Image
She never took a meal for me, and the reason was revealed almost a month post-hatch, when a few extremely nasty kinks appeared. Probably incubation error on my part. If any one is interested in pics that show the kinking, I'd be happy to share.

Here is a group shot of the keepers, taken in early October... #2, Monster, #4, and Sally.

In August, we went to my second-ever expo and came home with 6 snakes. 4 of them have since passed on, and the outlook is questionable for the other two.. I'd rather not say why until the ordeal is over, though.

Let's start with Demeter. She's a gorgeous '04 proven breeder Anery Motley corn snake female.
User Image

Hector is a male Bay of LA Rosy boa.
User Image
User Image

Now, for the deceased, starting with the Dumeril's.

Against my advice and everyone's better judgment, my mom insisted on getting a 1.1 pair of '09 Dumeril's.
They were named Jack...
User Image
And Jill...
User Image

Jello was an adorable male '09 Ghost, probably het Stripe. I was so, so sad to see him go. He ate like a champ and had a great temperament for his age. Someday, I hope to get another baby like him from the same breeder.
User Image
Aberrant belly shot!!
User Image

Last but not least, Srisgrisard the early '05 proven breeder male Charcoal corn snake. He had some awesome hets and would've made stunning babies with Yelina... Oh well. He was the source of this "epidemic," sadly.
User Image

Now onto the four-legged things!

First up is Man Ray. We rescued him in January. The poor baby was emaciated, dehydrated, and had MBD...
This is the best "before" pic I have. He weighed in at around 150 grams, and was roughly 14-16 inches long:
User Image
His x-ray... As you can see, his bones were really wasted away--and this was taken a month or so after we started giving him calcium and UVB.
User Image
Here he is in July, after upgrading to a new tank (hence the grayed-out beard... He was upset with the massive increase of space). He was already looking better, and had easily doubled, if not tripled, his weight.
User Image
YUM! Hornworms are his favorite treat... Especially when they're as big as his head! xD
User Image
Today he weighed in at exactly 540 grams. He looks SO much better, and has definitely rounded out! Since we got him, he has recovered from MBD, almost quadrupled his weight, gotten over a pinworm infection, and been on food, off food, on food, off food, and finally back ON food. Geeze. He's been a major pain in the butt and cost me a small fortune in vet bills, but, you know, what the hell.. I LOVE the little guy! =)
Here are pics from today...
He hasn't grown much, if at all, in length, but he's certainly widened out...
User Image
This one was a very poor attempt at showing just how MUCH he's "widened out."
User Image
And this one is just for the hell of it... I was trying to take pics while holding him, but he decided he doesn't like "flying," and automatically swung around and stuffed his nose into my shirt. Awwwww! <3
User Image

Okay, enough about Man Ray. That attention hog. xD

The latest, and last for a while, addition is Zoom the Russian Tortoise... You guys should know her story, as it was after I joined this Guild that she came to me. For those who don't know, she was given to me in November, by a girl from school. Her brother had had her for 3 years, and was not caring for her properly... No light or heat, never cleaned her disgusting tank, and the tank itself was waay to small. If she were any species but a Russian, she would be ridiculously pyramided and deformed. Luckily, she isn't--in fact, her shell is quite smooth, all things considered!

So, that's my reptilian menagerie, past and present, in its whole. Thanks for looking, I hope you enjoyed! =)

It's okay, it was well worth the wait. I love Sally's markings and Hector's awesome. Although, I am in love with those baby dumerils. biggrin

Thanks! Sally's markings are why she's a keeper... Lol. Her colors help, too.

The Dums were indeed awesome, even though Jill never fed for me and Jack was sporadic at best. Whether that was because of their illness or because the breeder didn't make sure they were well established before selling, I dunno... I do hope to have another Dumeril's or two again someday. They're such great snakes. =)

I'm hoping to be able to get a dumerils sometime when I can find a steady source of income. At the moment, nobody's hiring 15 year olds lol.

Radioactive -- 15??? I figured you had to be at least my age, maybe even older... xD

Good luck finding a job! You've probably got a better chance than I do... I'm in one of those hick towns where you have every high schooler and half of the town's adult workforce competing for work at two fast food places... Lol.

Shanna--Thanks! =)

Haha, nope. I act a lot older than I am from what I'm told though. How old are you if you don't mind me asking?

Here it's just about the same. Only difference is, my mom's saying I can't have a job till I move out, which makes it impossible lol. Kinda can't move out if you don't have money to move somewhere else.

I'm 17, actually.
You really do act older than you are, lol. If I didn't know you live with your mom, I probably would've guessed 20 or so. xD

Kind of counterproductive, no? Lol. Guess she just wants you to stick around for awhile!

Haha, well thank you.

Yeah, it is a bit counterproductive. I wouldn't mind that much if she weren't so....overprotective(I guess that's one way to put it).

Ha. Good luck with that. I have/had some friends with overprotective parents over the years... It's... Well... Let's say I'm glad my parents aren't. xD

Shanna--Why thank you! mrgreen
