I recently acquired some pet doves, and I'm wondering if anyone has any advice or links on caring for them? I've done some research already, but haven't found very much information. I'm pretty sure they're ringneck doves. This is the first time I have had pet birds, other than chickens. Here are some pictures: LINK 1LINK 2

Sorry, I can't help you at all with care--I know NOTHING about birds... (Really, TBH, they kind of scare me...)
But they're VERY pretty birds! Good luck with them! =)

They are very pretty.
Good luck with them.
I know a lot about parrots, not so much about doves.
But with all birds, just move slowly and try not to stress them out.
I found a few sites that might help you.
You should also call a vet or a pet store and see if they know anything about them.

Edit: Heh, one of the sites says it's hard to find dove food, but I bought some in the first store I went to. XD I guess it depends on where you live.

Different birds eat different foods? Seriously?? I thought they all ate, like, the same thing. Or, at least, that all the seed-munchers ate all the same seeds and all the everything-else-munchers ate all the same everything else... o.O;;
Oh, and I've never seen dove food. Unless they eat Dove soap. ^__^

I WISH they all ate the same thing.
But no, there's so many types of bird seed.
Finch/canary, parakeet, cockatiel...
Waaay too many to name xD
And then parrots can be on pelleted diets..
I'm going to shut up now.
If I start talking about birds I'll never stop. Lmao

Woah. That's freaky. I kind of thought the only difference was the size of seeds and, other than that, pet stores and pet supply companies were just fishing for another reason to jack up their prices. I wouldn't put them past it... But it's cool to know I was wrong. (Not that I'll ever have a bird..) xP

Oh dear God yes. lmao.
Parrots are my favorite animals ever.
Well, seed is a LOT cheaper than pellets, but it's also not as good for them at all.
Not a fan of birds? lol
