...Me starting a fashion blog that did similar things to what I've done in Kerize's Thread? Where I take things that people can't find outfits for and try to make an outfit? I would do other things, like find a daily splurge vs. save and all that kind of thing, but what do you think? Good idea or not? And what are some suggestions for the name?

Colloquial Mode! or... something French! I dunno. But I could totally use a forum like that. I'm not very good at matching sometimes. I have to say I loved how you replied to my thread with that picture. Too bad "Dernier Cri" was JUST taken by one of Gaia's shops lol. Anyway I totally support your idea.
Edit: Maybe you can find something here [name wise]: http://educators.fidm.edu/educators/project-activities/projects/pdfs/french-fashion.pdf

Or perhaps a mock monthly mag, instead? This could be an individual project or a Guild collaboration like the Gaian Fashion Guild's GFG Magazine.
If you're interested in such a project, I can extend an offer: I'm the editor/graphic designer/mag designer and a writer for a Gaian collaborative project called [Hide.Me]: E-zine. I'd be more than happy to provide my services.
I have 5 years worth of experience in graphic design; I'm also taking Graphic Design in school. I have experience in journalism, and I made a mock magazine last year. I am in AP Eng Lit, and I took AP Eng Comp last year.
However, I have absolutely no experience in Flash, but if you're interested in developing a Flash online e-magazine website, I have friends who are quite familiar with the program.
Let me know what you think!
Thanks,
Robin

@ Beautiful: I love that idea! I'm just concerned about the size and amount of collaboration it would require. I'm already on a newspaper staff, and it's a lot of work! One mistake is everyone's mistake, y'know. Everyone would have to be really dedicated.
Hey, I took AP, as well! There's no graphic design program at my school, but I do have around 4 years of experience with webdesign, and no experience with Flash. I'm not sure how comfortable I am with putting out a Flash E-zine because of accessibility.

Great! I'm definitely interested in helping out.
I personally don't have web design experience, but one of my friends knows Flash. I'm sure she'll agree to help; I'll ask her.

I think we should call it La Femme Rouge. Great logo opportunities.

La Femme Rouge it is. I will be working with my friend on the Flash. Can I get a list of people who are interested in this project, and what they will be contributing? How do you suggest we go about citing trends or shows, since many images are copyrighted? I don't think we'll be able to use them unless we receive written permission from the firms. What we can do, however, is to have some illustrations of what's in style, or what to avoid... The GFG Mag BEING PRETTY THROUGH THE SEASONS: Pick 1-3 beauty products for the season that you think everyone should give a try. Include pictures, and try to give an example of what the items cost and where people can get them. (For an example: a great lotion for the summer or winter, etc..) THIS NEW THING: What is that new, special something, that everyone just seems to want to have? Love it or hate it, this editorial serves to document all the current fads. Make sure you include pictures, so that everyone has an image of what you're choosing to discuss. If possible, include stores that one could buy these items. HOW TO DRESS..: The 'real-life' version of the Gaian article, and maybe a bit easier to write for. Pick a gender (or both - or don't, whatever floats your boat), then pick an occasion, and put together an example outfit (with pictures from online sites, or pictures you took yourself). Provide commentary on why the outfit you chose fits the occasion, and give people a rough estimate of what the outfit would cost them, or where they could purchase the items pictured (doesn't have to be exact). LOOKING GOOD ON EMPTY POCKETS: Again, the RL version. You've got $150 dollars to create a stylish outfit for a female, and $150 to create a stylish outfit for a male. Give a description of the items, and tell why each outfit works. If you can, include prices and stores where these items can be purchased. Special Mini-series: DRESSING WITH THE TIMES: Pick a fashion decade, and include not only what was happening with clothes, but - if you want to - other trends of the time. Try to include either an actual picture of someone appropriately dressed for whatever fashion decade, or put together an example outfit. Try to include pictures and just be creative and have fun. Here are some years you can choose from, but I think some fashions, like the whole Victorian era, span a couple: 1830-1900, for example. ...1800, 1910, 1920, 1930, 1940, 1950, 1960, 1970, 1980, 1990... If you choose something not quite on that timeline, be sure before writing the article that you will be able to produce pictures, and write more than just a few short sentences.

I am no good with what makeup to buy, and no good with complicated hair styles. I am, however, pretty good at fashion illustration and finding great outfits on a budget. As for citing trends. I do like the idea of just illustrating it, or getting volunteers to model them for us if they have the items. And if not... well, I will volunteer to take photos in a dressing room.

If you want, I can help out. The beauty product column and budget shopping one are both things I can do pretty easily, if you want.

Did anyone watch Stylista?
We can make a mag from scratch like the contestants did. We can use original content, images, and design.
