There are two stadiums on Astrea Island. One in Greenbeach City, and one in the Eon Labs. They're both virtually identical, though the one in the Eon Labs is more used for research and the one in Greenbeach is more for recreation.

Battles sometimes break out spontaneously and in the streets, but arranged fights take place in a Stadium. Stadiums offer a wide variety of terrain for your Pokemon to fight on, from grassy meadows to rocky pillars to snowy fields. It also has formal equipment to keep track of the Pokemon's health and so on, and also prevent any serious injury and death.

All battles must go in this forum, regardless of where it's located!

There are two systems to use:

Simple battle system, damage is determined by the dice only.

Detailed battle system, damage is determined by type, stats, stadium, status effects are in play, weather are in play, etc...

General rules about fighting

• Ask for battles in the shop thread, PM, whatever. Just as long as you don't annoy the other person too much.

• To properly set up a battle, you must have the images of the Pokemon that are battling, the owners of said Pokemon, the field they are fighting on, any preset weather effects, and the battle system being used. You can set this up however you see fit, but all this info must be present.

• To determine who goes first, each person must roll a 6-sided dice. The person with the higher total goes first. In case of a tie, each person must roll again.

• A Pokemon can only have 4 moves per battle. These can be revealed as the battle goes on, but they must actually be learnable by the Pokemon. You can find the movesets on Serebii, Bulbapedia, or the Pokedex in the guild for the made-up species.

• No deleting posts in battle just to change the damage! This is considered cheating and may be enough to warrant a ban from fighting. Don't do it!

• When a Pokemon reaches 0 HP, the other Pokemon wins!

• When you finished a battle, please edit the title with (Finished) or something along those lines.

• In the case of multi-Pokemon battles, you may switch out a Pokemon, but that Pokemon cannot attack that turn. And you must switch out after the opponent attempts to land a hit. For example, Suzie can switch out to Vaporeon after Eevee gets hit, but she cannot switch out to Vaporeon and have it take the opponent's attack.

More guidelines may be added later...

To select a field, randomize 1-17, and the number it lands on is the corresponding field. Or you both can choose a field, it doesn't matter.

When a field has a power bonus, it means that if you use an attack that receives a bonus, that attack does 1 extra point of damage unless you miss. If you get a critical, you add 2 extra points. This only comes into play in the detailed battle system.

A field can be subject to many kinds of weather. Weather only has its effects in the detailed battle system. If you want a chance of weather, randomize the number of options available after you chose your field.

Quote:
1- CITY STREETS
Just like battling in a city, there are benches and trash cans and buildings and roads. Be careful where you step! This is the default setting for battling in cities and towns. Attack bonus to Steel. Subject to rain and sun.

2- ASTREA PLAINS
A gentle breeze constantly blows over this flat and grassy area. Easy footing for all Pokemon, but there is little defensive cover. This is the default setting for battling in Astrea Plains. Attack bonus to Bug types. Subject to rain and sun.

3- JADECOVERED FOREST
Tall trees block out the sunlight and dense plant life make navigation difficult. Watch out, for there are always enemies lurking around the corner! This is the default setting for battling in Jadecovered Forest. Attack bonus to Grass. Subject to rain and sun.

4- MOSSHAUNT MARSHES
Fortunately the gases here aren't as potent enough to kill you, but it'll make you dizzy if the fight continues too long! Rotting trees and muddy puddles makes it a less than ideal to battle. This is the default setting for battling in Mosshaunt Marshes. Attack bonus to Poison. Subject to rain.

5- SANDSPIRIT DESERT
The sun scorches the desert when it's day, the moon chills the air when it's night. Sand doesn't provide much cover, but there are some cacti and rocks to use if needed. This is the default setting for battling in Sandspirit Desert. Attack bonus to Ground. Subject to rain, sun, and sandstorm.

6- THE OCEAN
The entire area is filled with seawater, with waves large enough to wash out a Pokemon if they aren't careful. Small rocky islands and even smaller buoys provide some land for non-aquatic Pokemon. Attack bonus to Water. Subject to rain.

7- MOUNTAIN
Many rocks of varying sizes are scattered across the stony surface. The area is somewhat sloped and there are small trees with little leaves too. This is the default setting for battling in the mountains. Attack bonus to Rock. Subject to rain and sun.

8- VOLCANIC CRATER
Hot! A large platform is suspended over lava, sparing Pokemon from fiery dooms but not sparing them from the heat. Rocks are scattered around and flames may burst from the floor occasionally. If the Pokemon falls off the platform, the battle immediately ends. Attack bonus to Fire. Subject to sun.

9- ICY PLAINS
Snow falls from the sky and covers the ground in a thick blanket. Icy patches are hidden under the snow, making a Pokemon liable to slip if they rush too much. Attack bonus to Ice. Subject to hail.

10- DARK CAVERNS
It's pitch black inside these caves! You'll have to have either good eyesight or better attentiveness to figure out where the opponent is. Attack bonus to Dark.

11- GRAVEYARD
This place makes everyone shiver a little with its eerie fog and spooky atmosphere. Weathered tombstones and bare trees are present in this monument for the dead. Attack bonus to Ghost.

12- FIGHTING DOJO
Located indoors, all sorts of training equipment are laid haphazardly. Not only that, things like benches, punching bags, and balancing beams make this place like an obstacle course. Attack bonus to Fighting.

13- STADIUM FIELD
Your average stadium battlefield. It looks like a basketball court kinda, but the floor isn't made out of wood. Attack bonus to Normal. Subject to rain, sun, hail, and sandstorm.

14- ELECTRIFIED FIELD
This field has live wires running all over the place, and orbs cackling with electricity hang from the ceiling. Be careful not to get shocked! Attack bonus to Electric.

15- PSYCHIC FIELD
A glass platform hangs in the middle of nowhere, with 3-D shapes made out of energy leaping from the bottomless pit and then falling back into the darkness. Some sort of energy is in the air, sensed only by the most sensitive. Attack bonus to Psychic.

16- CLOUD FIELD
Several platforms stay afloat with propellers, covered in stuff to give it an appearance and feeling of clouds. Otherwise, the field is completely void of any other surface, even the bottom. Air currents are prominent, though prone to change every so often. Attack bonus to Flying. Subject to rain, sun, hail, and sandstorm.

17- DRACONIC FIELD
A rocky field with very sharp rocks, a pool of water, and oddly enough, torches lit with blue fire. An entrance to a cave is blocked off with large rocks, but occasionally you can hear the roar of something large inside. Attack bonus to Dragon. Subject to rain and sun.
