Looking over the files for the two students sitting in front of him, Jerard "hmmm"ed, deep in his throat. What a fascinating weapon.
Realizing that his thoughts had wandered quite a bit, and that the two students were looking at him expectantly, Jerard cleared his throat. "So. I'm glad to see that you two have paired up, though how it happened is still something of a mystery to me."
Jerard raised his eyes and looked at Xelander and Thordon in turn. "I hope the two of you will do SHIBUSEN and yourselves proud, and with time, manage to make it through the ranks." Hopefully not too quickly - there was always so much paperwork involved in such things, and the piles of paper on his desk weren't getting any smaller with the sudden influx of new pairs. Not to mention it meant he had to deal with an irate Alexis, who wasn't exactly thrilled about having to run rank one missions.
Which brought him to his next point. Fortunately, it hadn't been Alexis that he'd run into first when he'd been trying to find a member of staff to take this pair around. "Ashie will be here shortly to take you around to the places you need to be comfortable with now that you're officially a partnered pair. If you don't mind stepping outside to wait..."
He let the words trail off delicately as raised a brow, dismissing the pair.

Thordon let out a shaky sigh, not exactly willing to move his feet just yet. So he’d done it. He officially became partnered with this…man beside him. And he wasn’t entirely sure he wasn’t going to regret it in the morning. Maybe if he could ju--
“Come on,” Xelander snapped, seeing as how Thordon wasn’t going to move anytime soon. He forcefully grabbed the other’s arm and dragged him out of the room with a sharp jerk of his wrist to the man behind the desk. It was…a kind of wave. Not really, but close enough.
It was after they had left the office, the door shut behind them, Xelander reached up, fidgeting with his industrial. A habit that had formed out of agitation with Thordon. “Don’t be so pathetic, it’s annoying.”
Thordon’s eyes narrowed at the insult, standing up a bit straighter. “Don’t be such a barbarian, it’s embarrassing.”
Xelander’s eyes crinkled a bit in amusement, a smirk playing on his lips. Instead of responding to the childish retort, the weapon let his eyes scan the area around them, waiting for this person who was supposed to show them around. He really hated being kept waiting.

Ashie was late. She knew it, and yet couldn't seem to force herself to rush when there was such a yummy icecream cone in her hand. Bubblegum. If little cartoon hearts could float out of her body and into the air, they would have. Nomnomnom Icecream Parlor served the best icecream in the world!
Looking up, she found that she was a little closer to Jerard's office than she'd thought she was... With a little skip and a hop, she reached the new pair.
Leaning forward a bit, she found herself looking into dark purple eyes, set in an almost girlish face framed with red and black hair. Almost like Axie's! She giggled. "Hi!" The icecream cone was held between them, and as she leaned back - far back - to look up at the other half of the pair, she absently took a long lick before speaking. "And.. Hello! Heheheeee! Lemme guess," Ashie paused, head tilted as she flicked her big blue eyes from one to another. "You," the icecream cone waved towards the taller boy, "would be Xelander, right?"
Ashie's eyes laughed, inviting them to join in on the fun. "Well anyway, since we're all here, let's start!"
Turning sharply on her heel, the staff member started down the hallway, taking a few steps before stopping abruptly to face the new pair once again. "By the way, I forgot! I'm Ashie. Nice to meet you two!" The hand that wasn't holding the now quickly-melting cone waved once before she continued down the hallway, a happy humming coming from her voice as she tried to eat as much of the cone as possible.

The pair watched as the exuberant girl practically pranced over to them. It was an interesting thing to behold, and Thordon couldn’t help the pleased grin that danced crossed his lips. “Hello,” He responded, gaining a bit of her enthusiasm, before watching as she turned to stare at his…weapon?
Xelander crossed his arms, rather amused at the ditz in front of him. He prayed he wouldn’t get stuck ever working with her, she’d probably end up getting the lot of them killed. And…did she just flick a drop of ice cream on his shirt, when she waved that damn cone at him? Letting out a growl of displeasure, he quickly wiped at the ice cream stain, before narrowing his eyes. “I would be,” And then, realizing this woman would be their guide- and he very well might have to work with her, lessened the death glare and gave a long-suffering sigh. If he had to work with her and Thordon, well…
“Nice to meet you, as well, Ashie!” Thordon responded, following after the girl. This kind of person he could handle. This kind of person didn’t give off murderously impatient waves constantly, like the man next to him. “How long have you been here?” He asked when he caught up with her. He had a thousand questions, none of which Xelander had answers too when he suggested the pairing.
Xelander caught up with less effort than his counter part. His long legs allowed him quick strides to match up with the both of them. He took Ashie's other side, as Thordon had taken to walking near the damnable icecream cone. He may have decided to be civil, but that didnt mean he wanted icecream flung at him by a brainless female.

Proud that her guess had been correct, Ashie grinned. "Yay! I got it right!" Walking backwards so she could face the two, she stuffed the last of the cone into her mouth, chewing and swallowing fiercely for a moment before responding. "How long? Hmmmmmm...... A while! I don't remember." Ashie stuck her tongue out with a smile and a vaguely confused expression. "Axie and I trained here too, so....." She shrugged.
"And you guys? I never manage to keep track of all the people coming and going into SHIBUSEN! I don't know how Jerard and Axie do it!" Her voice was full of genuine confusion, as the task seemed absolutely monumental to her. It never once occurred to her that they had masses of paperwork and other such means of tracking, since Ashie was rarely given (and definitely didn't want) any serious responsibility.
Catching herself just before she backed into a wall, Ashie stopped abruptly, looking around with a faint "hmmm" before striding confidently down a new hallway. "So anyway, the tour! If you can really call it that." Giggling again, she turned to whisper into Thordon's ear. "I don't really know what I'm supposed to be doing, since you guys should know the school already, right?"
Straightening, and flicking an unabashed grin over at Xelander, Ashie waved her arm expansively. "This is the hallway with all the classrooms. Obviously, the classes are held here." She always thought it was funny to have to explain something like that, but Jerard had asked her to be more precise this time with the tour. "You guys will be using #1, #2, #3, #4, #6, but not #5... Though..." Her blue eyes looked a little distressed. "Maybe you will use #5? I don't know! People go in all the time, but I'm not allowed." A sad kicked-puppy look crossed her features before it was quickly replaced by a childish glee. "But Z and L let me into #7! Teehee!"
Ashie paused, looking over at the pair. "Do you guys have any questions, or anywhere you want to go in particular?"

Xelander made a face at watching the girl stuffing her mouth, his nose wrinkling in distaste. “How do you not remember?” The tone was biting, but the smile he offered was repentant as he remembered he was supposed to be trying to befriend this airhead in front of him. “I think, with such an important job, one would remember just how long she was working,” Okay, so many the second statement had a condescending, but really…
“I’ve been here for a few months,” Xelander answered, with a slight shrug, while jerking his thumb back to Thordon. “And he ha--”
“I’m new,” Thordon answered, sharply, his eyes narrowing. He was supposed to be the boss in this partnership, wasn’t he? That meant Xel had no right ot speak up for him every time. “Just arrived,” He reaffirmed. A snide kind of smirk painted itself on his face as Ashie leaned over to whisper in his ear, because, yes, he was the one in charge, and yes, she was whispering in his ear, not Xel’s. He didn’t let the thought that it might have been because she was closer to his height than she was to his weapon’s last long. Instead, he nodded, following her as she made her way down the hall.
Thordon opened his mouth, to question about classroom five. He’d seen the area, but he hadn’t gotten an actual rundown of why this classroom was closed. Ashie only fueled that curiosity. “Why no--” But before the question could even completely escape his lips, Xelander had knocked his fist onto the top of his head, effectively stopping the question. His eyes once more narrowed as he looked up. “OW.”
“Pansy,” The weapon murmured, rolling his eyes a bit. He was about to say something else, when Ashie paused and asked a question he’d been itching for her to ask. “Mission HQ,” Came the automatic response. He’d been just waiting for a partner so he could go there, and now that he ha--
“Music room!” Thordon chirped at the same time, a little hop in his step. Both boys stopped walking, turning to glare at each other. “Malevolent miscreant!!” the musician growled out, crossing his arms over his chest.
“Girl!” Seriously. Music over mission? He had to be a chick.

Confusion flickered across Ashie's face for just a moment, before she frowned at Xelander. "I've been here since I started as a student. It's been a while." Shrugging, she dismissed the matter. She was sure that if she wanted to, she could figure it out, but that was too much effort, and who cares, anyway?
"A few months should mean you know where things are! That's awesome!" Ashie's eyes shone with excitement. "I don't have to worry about forgetting anything and stuff, since you'll show Thordon the things I've missed, right?" She asked the question in all innocence, oblivious to the byplay going on around her. It was rare for her to notice anything but happy things, and power struggles were completely beyond her comprehension.
Xelander's fist on Thordon's head was strange. Was that a new game? Though she didn't think so - the "ow" had sure been genuine-sounding. "Why what?" Another slight frown marred her otherwise smooth features as she eyed the pair.
Well, whatever.
"I can show you guys both! They're not that far apart," Ashie was glad she could accomodate both of them, and just as glad that they'd decided there were places they actually wanted to see. Making up a list of places to go was so much work! Ashie turned down a corridor that led to the music room. They'd go there first since she loved to hear the piano being played, she decided. "Besides --"
She paused, curious. "What's a miscreant?"
Turning abruptly when she heard 'girl', she faced Xelander, thinking she was being addressed. When there was no forthcoming comments, she prompted, "Yes?"
